I joined yelp just to write about uncle andy's pizza. I know about pizza because I live alone, am a busy professional and don't cook. I assure you I am qualified so please take my word- you will be happy you did. Best pizza around!!!! Deep dish cheese and pepperoni, cheese bread, you've got to be kidding if you say it's not some of the best around!! Andy the owner is just a gem, he is what supporting local mi business is all about. He appreciates his customers. Why not at least try uncle andy's? At the very least, you'll know for yourself.

Gluten free pizza is not on the menu, but it is available. Crust is really crispy and flavorful. veggie toppings are gluten free but they were not sure if the meat ones were. If you are very sensitive like I am, ask them to prepare the pizza on a piece of cardbord or something before putting it in the oven since they put the GF pizza on the same prep area as they do regular pizzas

Since we were in the area, we decided to try a new pizza place, and Uncle Andy's was it. We had seen the reviews, but you just never know, you know? We ordered our two usuals (BLT and Hawaiian) and they were really good. I mean REALLY, REALLY good. So good that it made me a little sad we didn't live closer so they could be our regular pizza joint. The BLT toppings were small enough so that each bite had some B, some L, and some T--and the slice didn't fall apart when you took a bite. The Hawaiian was pure and simple and good with just the right amount of each topping. And the crust? Wow. Tasty with just the right amount of chew to it. I can definitely see us getting Andy's pizza again if we're in the area.

Really good pizza. We go here often as it's just down the street. We've only eaten the pizza, so I can't comment on the other goods. If you are in need - you can count on it being consistenly good.

Uncle Andy's is really making me a believer in their pizza. When I first had it, I wasn't SO overly crazy about it, but they're just consistently good. The delivery takes a bit longer than maybe you'd like for it to take (45 minutes?) but the pizza quality is far better than any other delivered pizza you're going to get in the area.

I have to say, I like Uncle Andy's gluten free pizza more than Buddy's. This is shocking because Buddy's makes theirs fresh - and Uncle Andy's just buys a pre-made crust. While I appreciate Buddy's for actually making their own dough from scratch - I have to say that Uncle Andy's crust has a perfect thin-crust texture AND a great taste. You can't beat that. As far as the regular pizza's go - my boyfriend thinks it's "just okay". But try the gluten-free, it's awesome!

very mediocre - barely any sauce - round crust was chewy - Greek Salad was passable - lots of cheese - no black olives - no chici beans - guess it had a little red onion chopped up in there someplace

I love square pizza and Uncle Andy's does it right. The BBQ chicken pizza is amazing, better than Jets and that is saying something because I grew up on Jets and love them as well. Their grinders are also excellent and their cheese bread is hands down the best. The name is pretty good to. Way to go guys. I used to live in the area and have since moved to Houston, but every time I am back home visiting I always stop by to indulge. Prices are cheap, specials are good, but more importantly the pizza is GREAT!

I'm becoming more and more happy with choosing places based on yelp reviews, as was the case with this lovely local spot. We went on their website to find a coupon for a large one topping for 8.49. My test has always been pepperoni. If they mess that up, then it's not worth returning to. So that's what we got, in the square variety, as that's what people seem to be raving about. I have to say, it was LOVELY! It had perfect crunch, the cheese and pepperoni were spot on, and the crust was great. It had everything I look for in a good square. My girlfriend and I agreed that it could have used a bit more cheese, so I ordered one this afternoon with the latter, and it is nearly perfect. Honestly, this is my go to pizza place from now on. Oh yeah, it goes extremely well with a nicely made IPA, in case you were wondering. Cheers!

Uncle Andrews is the perfect pizzeria. It's supporting a local business and it's amazingly delicious! Before my love affair started with Andy I was a huge fan of Jet's Pizza. I still am, but given the choice betwixt the two, I would opt for Andy's. They have more exciting toppings including spinach, garlic, and feta cheese than more standard pizza places offer and an amazing cheese bread. It's stuffed. And so are you by the time you're done eating. There's something about the pizza. It's a great deep dish that always just seems to be perfectly crispy on the bottom and chewy in the middle. The crust has a pleasant buttery flavor and all in all it doesn't feel as greasy as Jet's sometimes will. Comparable to the Jet's Combo #3 which is now $15.99 if I'm not mistaken is the Uncle Andy's Combo (or something like that?) which included a large pizza (your choice square or round) with 2 toppings, cheese bread, and two liter of your choosing for under $14.99 (I am going by memory and think I am accurate on the prices, and please note that I am sure they are subject to change). Uncle Andy's is so cool that they even stock Squirt. Just nod your head and agree with me because you know everyone loves Squirt, not Raymond. If you haven't given them chance, I would implore you to consider it. Treat yourself, you deserve it! If you're in the Farmington Hills area too they have another location on Orchard Lake Road. They also have pasta dishes , grinders, and offer a Chicago style pizza (sauce on the top, toppings underneath). For large parties they also have a two extra large pizzas with one topping deal for maybe $22.99? Note: On Sundays they are only open until 9:00 p.m. And if you become a fan on facebook they will occasionally have really great promotions for their fans only!

Yeah, Uncle Andy's is seriously good. My mouth is watering thinking about both their square and thin crust pizza. The grinders are really good too. Oh how I miss Andy's. If you have yet to try them out, you must! But beware, you will become addicted.

Uncle Andy's makes a pretty decent pizza. Deliveries take a while because they usually only have one person making them during the evening so I would suggest getting a carryout, which usually only takes about 10 minutes to complete your order. Lately Ive been getting the special they have for a large, one topping pizza for $8.49. I eat half for dinner and save the rest for tomorrows lunch. I have yet to try the Chicago Style pizza they have, along with the various subs and sandwiches they offer.

Finally gave Uncle Andy's a try and they have won me over-- what a delicious pizza! We got their large square which was generous with the toppings, delicious cheese, and the crust really couldn't have been more perfect. We also tried their boneless hot wings...nothing really too special, but tasty and satisfying nonetheless. Bonus points for offering great deals and being a local business. It's safe to say this will be our go-to pizza place from now on.

A friend of ours kept raving about Uncle Andy's, so finally one night when I didn't feel like cooking or leaving the house I ordered some Uncle Andy's pizza to be delivered. As the other reviews said, delivery took a very long time (about an hour), but it was exactly how long they said it would be. I ordered a simple cheese and mushroom pizza. I thought the pizza was pretty good, but nothing amazing. Strangely, I actually thought it was much better the next day! I would give Uncle Andy's another shot, but I don't think I will ever get an Uncle Andy's craving. I think perhaps I've been spoiled by all of the NY pizza I've consumed.

Amazing chicago style stuffed pizza. Best pizza I've ever had. Careful...one slice is a meal. 'nuff said.

  • Bryan R.

Their square pizzas and their grinders are excellent... The thin crust is really good, too. Inexpensive, local, and quick delivery... what's not to love. Oh - and in two years they've never once messed up an order - which is saying a lot in comparison to some other local places.

Thank goodness I have a culinary goddess as a best friend who can fill me in on all of the great food choices in the area. Uncle Andy's was not suggested, but required by this friend. They do have some of the best pizza. As always, I have to share my bad experiences and with UA this has happened on multiple occasions. I have stopped in to order a pizza 20 minutes (yes, 20...about the time it takes to make pizza) before they close and was rejected. Not only was I rejected on a walk-in, I was also rejected over the phone on a different occassion. Unfortunately for them, their rejection introduced me to another fantastic pizza place which will now share my business.

Without a doubt... The best pizza!! I love the Square Cheese and Pepperoni pizza best. We order about once a week, and have never been disappointed. I only wish they opened earlier on Sundays!! When we think pizza for supper, the only place I order from is Uncle Andys!

  • David D.

well I go there about once a week Yes to be honest I have had better Pizza but these guys are consistent. Also much better then the chains and like other I rather support the little guy. they have also supported my daughters Schools and her Soccer Team, Andy is just a really nice guy he asked his niece once what he should name his pizza place she replied Uncle Andy's (true story) the Round Pizza is better then the Square IMO, funny how Pizza places seem to do one or the other better I never found a pizza place that does both well. lots of Cheese and made well the entire staff there is very nice.

Freshly made, this pizza is the whip...we ordered a large square with half mushroom, tomato and onion and half with feta, pineapple and jalapeno and it was solid a pie. The fresh mushrooms were a huge bonus. I also had to try their pepperoni in a small round pie which was also pretty good but nothing out of the ordinary. For a local shoppe this is a solid choice for pizza and their prices are fair. I'd like to try them again for sure.

I've had Uncle Andy's twice and both times I was happy. It's NO WHERE NEAR Giordano's pizza in Chicago, and it's about a half-step down from Pizza Papalis, but it's good. It's also reasonably priced. The deep dish pizza looks a tad sad when you first get it; not as tall and regal as the originals. The toppings are ample and of high quality, though. The cheese bread is really tasty - it's like a stuffed bread. The antipasto salad was really good - TONS of toppings and the quality of the ham and salami was great. The only downer is the service - it's rather surly. The guys there clearly hate their jobs. Overall it's a great option - I have to try the grinders next.

So good and so fast! And such a good price! Used their super smooth website to order our first every pizza from Uncle Andy's and it will definitely not be our last. I went into the coupons/deals section and got a large salad, large pizza (one half with spicy pepperoni and green olives and and the other half sausage and green peppers), and a large order of their cheese bread for under $20, including a small delivery fee. That's a great deal, but deals are only deals if the food is good. And this. be. good. So, it was all good. Great crust. Good caramelization. The bread was lovely, chewy, and filled with cheese. Excellent. Got the ranch instead of the pizza sauce for the bread. That's sort of thing to do around here. Good move. It was the "right" ranch, if you know what I mean. If you don't, it means that it seems to be homemade and buttermilk. Anyway, it isn't the "wrong" ranch, which has those large black splotches in it and tastes like it was concocted in a lab. That is wrong and Uncle Andy's ranch is right. Also, the spicy pepperoni is fantastic, in particular. Not super spicy, which the hubs was happy about. The Chicagoan himself said it might have been some of the best pizza he's ever had. But he's smart and knows that Detroit-style deep dish is where it's at. My only tiny mark against the order was that the bleu cheese I ordered with the salad came as packets of Kraft dressing. But other than that, it was super good. We're definitely putting Andy's in the dinner delivery rotation. Anyway, order Uncle Andy's. Order now! They'll probably be to your door in about 15 minutes. That's how long they took to bring our food to us.

I just tried Uncle Andy's for the first time and it was everything I thought it could be! The pizza was fresh, tasty, and not too greasy. I have to also say that the prices are very generous for what you're getting.

Best Calzone I have ever had. All of their ingredients tasted great - the cheese was high quality, the meat tasted high quality and the bread was great as well and had a great sauce.

Uncle Andy is the man!! This is what a local pizza place should be. Great ingrediants and friendly staff. Deeper menu too than the competitors grinders wings chicago style etc... I could see this place being bigger than dominoes in 15 years.

We were having a lazy day the other day and decided to order pizza - after hearing all of the rave reviews about Uncle Andy's we figured we should give it a try. The menu was quite extensive, but we stuck to pizza and cheese bread. We ordered one round and one square - and I have to say that the square was far better than the round... There was too much crust action on the round and I felt like it was wasted space that more toppings could have lived on. My husband's pizza was all meat and he said it was pretty tasty- I opted for no meat and got spinach, feta and mushrooms. It was super tasty - especially because Uncle Andy's does not try to give me canned mushrooms on my pizza. Thanks Uncle Andy. Their cheese bread is unlike any other cheese bread I have had in these parts - and by that, I mean it is way better. I cannot attest to their delivery as we always pick up our own carry-out... the fewer strangers who come to my door, the better :) Last but not least - they have some pretty fantastic deals on their website that makes this yummy pizza even more affordable.

I've only had really bad pizza once in my life. It was a generic pizza my grandmother bought from a grocer's freezer, and the crust tasted like an uncooked hot dog. Uncle Andy's is nowhere near this bottom of the barrel, but it leaves a lot to be desired nonetheless. I'm a Chicagoan, and Uncle Andy's does not have Chicago style stuffed pizza. Just because the edges of the crust are puffier than average and just because the sauce is on top of the cheese does not mean the pie oozes with Chicago style. There are two types of Chicago style pizza in my world: one has thick crust & the other has thin crust but think cheese. Uncle Andy's Chicago style pizza has thin crust everywhere but those rubbery, puffy edges, and the cheese is no thicker than a sticky note pad. I also found the sauce bland and the center of the pizza soggy. I was definitely not impressed. Based on the other reviews however, I might be willing to try Uncle Andy's again, but I would stay far away from Uncle Andy's stuffed Chicago style pizza. There's better Chicago style pizza in Metro Detroit, but I'm willing to give Uncle Andy's a chance to win my Detroit style pizza crown.

We call Uncle Andy's Pizza by many names, Unkie A's, Uncle Andrew's, etc. but my friends and I agree that Uncle Andy's is the best pizza in the area. First, it's a local place which always helps in my book. I'd rather go here than to some giant chain. Second, they have fancy toppings like spinach, garlic and feta. Third, they have an amazing square, deep dish pizza. I can only attest to the square pizza because that's the only pizza I have had. However, it's phenomenal. It's got a good balance of deep dish pizza flavor without being greasy or too heavy. I compare it to Jet's pizza but without as much grease and with better toppings. The cheese bread is also very delicious and I always get the cheese bread. My only complaint is that Uncle Andy's is not open later. I don't blame them, but it seems that often I want pizza later than 10pm on a weekday. Overall, I think you should give Unkie A a chance and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I love Uncle Andy's, especially the round pizza (the veggies was my favorite, lately it's been the Spice Lovers, but I really like all I have tried). I have ordered it for group functions and it was very well-received. The staff is very easy to work with and assisted greatly in determining the amount to order for a large group. Delivery was very timely and I would definately recommend using them in the future.

  • Kev L.

While this was a favorite, we have noticed a steady increase in the amount of oil/ grease/ whatever they use on their deep dish and mentioning it to them when you order does not help with limiting it. Currently just a notch above the $5 dollar place, but steadily falling behind the other chains, which is a shame as we like to support the local guys anytime we can.

  • Lauren G.

Yum! Whenever the great "where should we get pizza from?" debate arises, Uncle Andy's is a front runner. They have some pretty good deals on their website, they are definitely proactive about their advertising, and social media for a little guy, and now you can even place your order online. Their pies are pretty good. I remember becoming especially enamored with the thin crust. But what gets my vote is the cheese bread. I don't know how to explain it but it's more like a cheese-stuffed bread slathered in butter and parmesan and then sliced up. Smother those babies in 'za sauce and you'll be a happy camper. I've tried their Chicago-style deep dish...it was okay. Kinda wet and floppy. I probably wouldn't get it again. I don't really hold it against them, though. Props for trying. I've never had a Chicago style deep dish that stunned me outside of Chicago.

I used a groupon to try out Uncle Andy's a few month's ago, I had heard some good reviews so I wanted to judge the place for myself. Being a Jet's Square pizza with ranch kinda guy, I was really impressed how close this came. I had never been a pizza with ranch person until I had it with Jet's years and year's ago so now I always have to compare the ranch with other places I go. With all the various pizza places around our area, I can say Uncle Andy's is up there with the best of them, however, I would not order them over Jets if I had to. I have only gotten the square pizza so the other items they offer may be better, my experience is just that I would prefer Jet's over Uncle Andy's, your tastes may differ but definitely check them out.

  • Patrick R.

Uncle Andy's used to be my favorite pizza... I'm a sucker for Chicago Style... but then I moved a little too far away. Luckily, they ran a Groupon, so I had a reason to make the trip. It had been a couple years, but the pizza was still pretty awesome. Got the stuffed, of course. It was good, but it seemed like a vast majority of the toppings were all smushed into and towards the crust. This left the first few bites to be saucy bread, with little cheese or toppings. Also, I had the cheese bread, which was good (Pretty sure they are using Grande Cheese... the best type of Pizza cheese), but they were very bready too, since it was cheese stuffed bread. Overall, it was a good pizza experience.... I'll go back and give them the opportunity to claim back the 5th star; if only they can even out the Stuffed pizza. Either way... People, stop going to pizza chains. They mostly all suck... you only think they are good. Jets basically deep fries their pizza, Dominos is boring, Hungry Howies uses low grade products, serving Little Caesars to an Italian as "Pizza" would probably get your A$$ kicked... Support the locals like Andy's!

Uncle Andy's is the best pizza joint in Berkley and within the 'Bloomfield to Ferndale' stretch. My old favorite was Jets, but UA's take the pie now. Their cheese bread will blow your mind! I stay up at night thinking about it sometimes... I like both the square and round pizzas- all in all, a great pizza spot!

  • Wisdom H.

Ordered a small Chicago Style Pizza with meat and green peppers. Yelp says Uncle Andy's delivers, but when you place an order on Uncle Andy's site, it says no delivery. I called them directly, and yes, they do deliver. My pizza arrived in about 30 minutes and it was hot. I'm originally from Chicago, so I'm a hard critic on Chicago-style pizza. This pizza was tasty, and substantial, but far from Duo's or Giadanno's. No real comparison, but a good, solid, fresh pizza. As a nice added touch, the crust is either packed to the edge with cheese or stuffed. Either way, I enjoyed 2 slices of a small and was super full. I imagine a small will last me 2 - 3 days, personally, and I am not a light eater by any stretch of the imagination. Lol.

Ok, so we've been here twice now so I feel I can accurately describe why this is a 5 star pizza joint (4.5 but let's round up to support the lil' guys!). First visit we ordered: 1) Large square half pepperoni & half vegetarian. This was on point with Green Lantern Pizza's and if you follow my #PizzaFriday's you already know we should own stock or have 2-3 loyalty cards completed! Like Jon B. mentioned, the fresh mushroom is perfect unlike the canned mushrooms from GL. 2) Cheesy Breadsticks: think calzone shaped filled with cheesy goodness and brushed with light garlic butter on the outside. Best served warm so the cheesyness yields maximum stringy pull apart cheese. The marinara isn't too sweet or acidic too. Second visit was prompted by my tweet they favorited after posting their Pizza goodness and also because we now live 0.4 miles down the street. Talk about eating local & supporting local! We ordered: 1) Large 8 corner square pizza half double pepperoni & black olives & half vegetarian. This was a winner! Like GL's Octopie, the edges were nicely cheesy-charred and you can ask to flavor the crust (which I always forget to....garlic butter I wanna drink you!). My fresh mushrooms weren't runny & the toppings to cheese ratio was perfect. 2) Triple Cheese Bread: BETTER THAN GREEN LANTERN's Lantern Bread! Got that? That's saying a whole lot! I love that GL's Lantern bread is fluffy & doughy but this Triple Cheese bread has mozzerella, cheddar and parmesan with a nice coat of garlic butter. It also comes as a deep dish square which is like a square cheese pizza without the marinara. But man it is crack. We loved, loved, loved it. And DF isn't one to dole out complements esp if they're better than his beloved GL. We have yet to try their round pizza and we might not, b/c if you know whatcha like (we love square pizza!), why mess with a good thing? I think we'll give the deep dish a try when we're in Chicago craving mode.

When I moved to Berkley last winter, I got a free pizza coupon from Uncle Andy's to welcome me to the neighborhood. Free food lured me into their restaurant, and great food keeps me coming back. My absolute favorite item is their iced cinnamon sticks, which are the perfect combination of chewy, crunch, and sweet. I also love the way they do their cheese bread, which is baked into their dough, kind of like a calzone. I'm partial to their square pizzas, which are chewy, and not overly greasy. They are generous with sauce, cheese, and toppings. I usually order off their website, and every order has been ready for me when I came in to pick it up. But when I call in an order, it's often ready 5-10 minutes earlier than they quote me. I haven't ever had them deliver to me, but their employees are always super friendly when I come inside. Only downside is that their parking lot is always really crowded, and not always plowed in the snow. It can be tough to get a parking spot for carryout, even though they have some dedicated stalls.

  • Alesha S.

Imma be honest...this wasn't the best pizza I've ever had. It wasn't even close. Hungry Howie's has better pizza than what was delivered to my doorstep from Uncle Andy's. The breadsticks in theory are amazing...a pocket of dough stuffed with melty cheese, and the top layer of golden brown crust is brushed with a garlic butter sauce...but in execution, they were rubbery. And mushy. And sooo disappointing! We ordered a pepperoni pizza, a classic litmus test for pizzarifficness, and it was just okay. Round 10-slice was a standard Large size. You can flavor the crust, which is great! The crust under the cheese was soggy, but the cheese blend is pretty tasty. Pros of this joint: their pizza sauce is AMAZING. Sweet, spicy, tangy...it really outdoes all other sauces in the area. Cons: really rubbery, cold food at delivery. This place has so many loyal lovers, I'll have to try it again. I was thoroughly disappointed seeing as it's one of the higher rated pizza joints in the area, but maybe it was just an off night.

My husband and I just moved to the Royal Oak area a few months ago, and one of the first orders of business was finding our new go-to pizza delivery joint. I hopped on Yelp, checked out some reviews, and we ordered from Uncle Andy's. Been ordering from them 2-3 times per month ever since. We always opt for the square pizza - I love a good doughy crust with crispy edges on a square pie - and Uncle Andy's delivers. Pizza always arrives warm, toppings are fresh (fresh chopped tomatoes instead of canned?! score!), perfectly cheesy gooey goodness. We tried the cheese-stuffed bread once and weren't thrilled with it, but who cares - the pizza is good and that's what it's all about. Pizza always arrives in under 30 minutes, delivery dudes are friendly and polite, prices are reasonable. What more could you ask for?

Papa-schmapa, I'm sticking with everyone's favorite Uncle. Better pizza, better bread, and local! I had never even noticed Andy existed until my work catered in from the Farmington location. I was love at first bite. Their square pizza is crunchy, gooey goodness. The cheese is always fresh not greasy. Im pretty plane Jane, but my hubby has tried just about every topping combination and loved them all. Oddly enough, on of my favorite things here is the Greek salad. The deliciousness makes me feel like I'm being healthy while not compromising on any taste. We've also started ordering their wings, the BBQ is a house favorite. All in all, we are pretty loyal to Uncle Andy's for our Sunday night pizza treat. They haven't let us down yet!

I decided to order a pizza from this place principally because it's so darned close to my house. And it was GOOD. Really good. It was priced just a smidgen above the Ceasar, but was quantum leaps beyond in terms of quality. It's my new favorite pizza place!!

  • Julie G.

Love love uncle andys! The square with extra mushrooms is my favorite. Salads are fresh, wings are flavored nice. My only complaint is the pizza is not HOT when delivered. It's warm and eatable just not hot hot.

I just moved to Royal Oak about two months ago. This was the second time I ordered pizza from Uncle Andy's. Both times were good. I would highly recommend ordering pizza from this place. Their bread sticks were on point with having the cheese in the inside. Next time i order pizza I'm going to get their deep dish.

This place is insanely good. I've had their grinders, round/square pizzas, bread sticks and hotwings. Never have I once been disappointed and the food is consistently great! I literally order from here 2 - 3 times a week (I'm a single guy). I would highly recommend the hot wings (extra wet) and the square pizza.... oh and the steak & cheese grinder is bat-shit good too. Hell, everything here is fucking good!

This is our go-to place for pickup and delivery. We have only had pizza- deep dish, square, round, you name it. So can't speak to other menu items, but their pizza is damn good! Do yourself a favor and skip the chain pizza place and order from uncle Andys. You will not be disappointed!

This place has great pizza. End of discussion. Best take out pizza in Berkley so far amd I think I have tried them all. I am also a fan of the cheese bread, and I normally do not like cheese bread.

Dig this...... Ordered a square roni & (best in town) cheesesticks last night...before I even got home, Andy himself called & was apologizing for sending out a round & was insistent on sending one of his delivery guys out with a replacement immediately. (It was totally storming at the time as well) No way I could take him up on it so he made sure to credit me for next time. My point is that this cat is so damn classy. He cares big time & really wants to take care of people. You don't see service like his these days. I mean- I didn't call & complain.....HE CALLED ME before I even knew their was a problem (not even a big deal, let alone a problem) P.S. Word is out with the surbanites about Crispelli's next door & they have no qualms about clogging up the parking lot in Andy's strip mall...totally sucks...anyone owning a tow co out there...this is a gold mine

I ordered their mushroom pizza which was very very good. I asked for it to be well done, and they did what I asked. Also the mushrooms on their pizza was fresh. I could taste that they weren't canned. Pizza wasn't greasy, very very delicious. I also ordered their cheese bread, never had it this way where the cheese was actually in the bread. Omg so good, so carb delicious, so yummy. People here were very very nice.
