Cute little lunch spot reminiscent of a place you'd find up north. Prices are great and food portion options are suitable for any appetite as you can get half sandwiches and salads. I had the tuna melt panini that hit the spot. The ingredients seemed fresh and the homemade dressings were great. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it is a nice escape from the regular quick dining choices.

The food is delicious and I like the vibe of eating in an antique store. It's strange...but I liked it. The portions are huge. I got a half salad and a cup of soup and it was actually two meals worth.

I love this place! My favorite is the Italian panini. It's the prefect amount of the best ingredients. They buy all their ingredients fresh and the staff is always super nice. My only complaint is that they are only open during lunch so I can't go as often as I like.

Restaurant is small. Intimate. Very pleasant. The food was very good. Vegan to meat lover they have it all. Good breakfast menu too. Annoyingly everything seems to be a la carte. I think that if you order a tofu scramble, you should get toast. Just seems normal. Maybe the owners read Yelp and will comply. Otherwise, I liked it and I would come back.

love the salads !!! Their small size salad is actually really big. You can probably split it between two people . My favorite is the Clubbin salad. Prices for their salads are very very reasonable. $3.50 for their " small" salad. They are closed on Sundays which I think is nice. Employees need a break and time with their families too. Recommend it for lunch or dinner

First experience here. Food/prices were great, it just had an "awkward atmosphere" according to my 15 yr old daughter dining with me. Staff was not friendly, they seemed to be irritated that we were there.

The Lunch Café never fails to please. They have even added my fave - MAURICE SALAD. Hold it, GOOD Maurice Salad, for $5.25! Such a great price and delish! The salad is shredded lettuce and julienned pickles, meat, cheese. Oh so very good. And cheap. Daily soups are also yummy. Love the Dill Pickle soup :) It is also attached to a consignment furniture/antique store. I always seem to find some trinket (or not so much a trinket, like actually furniture). Fun to wander through.

Cream soups without heavy cream. Maurice salad. House made lemonade. Made from scratch by a beautiful group of women. The setting is a small casual café that is also doing a brisk carry-out business. It's so nice to sit in a friendly unrushed environment and have lunch. 12 Mile road in Berkeley is the perfect setting.

A pleasant little shop with friendly staff and a nice ambience. The food could use some work, though. The chicken noodle soup was pleasant, but so thick it was more of a pudding than a soup- perhaps it had just been cooking too long. The chicken salad was ground to a smooth paste, with no discernible chunks of chicken it it, and it had some curious, not-quite-identifiable herb in it- maybe dried dill?I do plan to visit again, though, and try some other sandwiches.

If you are someone who loves independently owned coffee shops and cafes then this is a good spot for you. Sandwiches and soups are always satisfying as well.

This pleasant, no thrills lunch cafe is in downtown Berkley. Oddly, it is connected to a antiques/consignment shop. I'm not really sure what the story is as to how this happened. I've dropped in a couple times to pick up lunch. They do have several tables if you want to eat in. The menu is pretty basic: sandwiches, soups, wraps and salads. They also have coffee and some baked treats. They do "soup(s) of the day" and all the ones I've tried are both home made and fantastic. They usually just have one or two to pick from and will post what soup they have each day that week. I've always just stopped by without checking so my disappointment is that some of the more interesting, can't-find-just-anywhere sounding soups, such as green bean casserole or mac and cheese, have not been available on the days I've gone. (Calling ahead may solve this issue.) The same goes for the sandwiches and salads, each are basic, fresh ingredients. The only item I have had that I was not a huge fan of was the chicken salad. Their version was quite herbed, which is not to say it is not good, just not my preference. The staff is friendly and the food takes a reasonable amount of time, depending on what you order.

Great food. They have something for everyone which is awesome. My mom is one of the pickiest vegetarians I know and even she enjoyed it. They have a kids menu, gluten free, and everything else. The are only open lunch hours. The are pretty fast. Oh and they have some great soups also.

Come here on Saturdays for the pulled pork sandwiches. You should also come here to check out the attached consignment/antique store, or to try their homemade soups, salads and desserts during the week. But it's worth putting that first point front-and-center, because they're that good. At the weekend, the owner's husband (I guess they're both owners?) takes over and serves up his built-through-long-term-trial-and-error pulled pork sandwiches, and they're worth the trip by themselves. He smokes and roasts the meat himself, and it really does have that luxuriously charred, smoky, fatty look that all good 'cued pork should have. He's also been experimenting with the perfect complimentary barbecue sauce for years, apparently, which appears to have paid off. Great little spot that seems to fly under the radar a bit.

Right up the street from where we live and we JUST got to try it out last week. Terrific experience. Took my 9 yr old daughter and 4 yr old boy after a walk around town and they loved it. Fresh squeezed lime aid, caprese grilled cheese sandwich and some excellent service! Interesting place....shares space with an antique store. It has outdoor seating and wicked desserts, soups, and coffee. Does it have an expansive menu? Nope, quite small actually. Does it have table service? No, but they do come out for refills, etc. Antique store a little weird and a tad creepy? Yeah, if you want to be a picky bastard. I gave my 5 stars because from the moment we walked in, we could TELL that they cared immensely about giving quality products and great service. Very happy to have a place like this in Berkley.

Not that this place is expensive (it rivals Panera in pricing), but I wish it were cheaper so I could eat there every couple of days! The owner makes all of her own soup, and it is fantastic! I highly recommend the smoked cheddar soup. I also loved that it's connected to a consignment shop, so you can go look around in there while you're waiting for a carryout order.

I love coming here for lunch, I've tried a few different things and everything is great. Plus it's fun to shop a little next door when you walk in. Very quick, friendly, and a good price.

What a little gem in downtown Berkley. While its nothing fancy and only has a handful of tables, this is one of my favorite local sandwich shops. Family run, fresh ingredients and outstanding soups keep me coming back. Get there early as they aren't open for dinner.

This little gem is a must eat, casual lunch spot. I stumbled upon it when I was antiquing in Berkley. TLC shares space with a consignment shop giving it a unique atmosphere. The homemade soups are outstanding. This is a true mom and pop style restaurant and everything is made fresh to order. They offer a nice vegetarian selection. salads, sandwiches, freshly brewed ice teas & coffee, and homemade desserts. I actually hate to shop, but if I must, I often plan to go right around the lunch hour; knowing very well what is actually motivating me...a hot cup of steamy homemade soup!

I went here last week for lunch, the food was fresh and delicious. If you are like me, and you crave a good sandwich for lunch every so often, but you're gluten free - this IS the place to go. Everything was tasty, fresh and SO cheap! I get so tired of GF bread being an extra few bucks, 50 cents I can do! For the chicken soup they even keep the noodles separate from the soup until it is ordered - therefor GF!

Right downtown on 12 mile near Hiller Mkt. (same side of street) Fresh expresso, homemade desserts, (I induldged in one of the homemade fudge iced brownies too!) I enjoyed the vegtable salad to offset the brownie, but WILL be back for the much talked about pumpkin bar with cream cheese frosting! My friend had the green bean casserole SOUP, thats right, and said it was awesome! Everything is homemade and the atmoshphere is warming. A MOM who runs it and cooks everything fresh and her daughter and their friend assist. Real dinnerware too! WE overheard the locals coming in and praising her soups and wraps and knew we hit a home run in this little gem. I already know what Im having next time. Homemade Mac and Cheese and a Pumpkin bar! Comfort food for sure...

Why didn't I ever know about this place? It is meshed with a consignment store and I never knew it existed. You order and pay at the counter and then a server delivers your food. I had a beautiful salad with nuts and strawberrrys-awesome! There was a very extensive menu and everything looked great and was reasonably priced. Service was quick, great if you want to go out for a mid day lunch and you are worried about returning to work on time. I'm sure I will be back!

The Lunch Cafe is tucked next to Hiller's Market right on 12 Mile. As the name implies, they are mostly open during lunch hours, but they do serve later on Thursdays. They have a variety of sandwiches, wraps and also grilled (pressed) sandwiches, I love the Turkey Grill, but I usually have them add bacon. They also have daily rotating home-made soups, the Swiss Onion is delicious as it the Taco Soup. Thursday nights they run a special entree, which could be anything from Lasagna to Chicken and Dumplings or one of my favorites, a Pulled Pork sandwich. I admit, I do work with one of the owners, but I wouldn't keep going back if I didn't think it was great.

This place is okay. Nice kids working at moms restaurant. Dont know if its a true description but its accurate. Nothing special in the taste of either the panini nor the soup. I had the Italian and gf had the Cheesy Caprese. Won't return because it's not worth it.

My review is not complete and will be revised since I stopped in on Friday, September 9th for a quick cup of coffee and a couple of brownies (which were pretty good!!) Seems like a quaint place. I was waiting to see an apartment in the area so I didn't have time to try any of the food. Staff was friendly and overall I got a good vibe. I will definitely revisit the place and try a meal and come back for another review.

What a great hidden lunch spot! The food portions are huge and the price is right. I was a little disappointed they didn't have Dill Pickle soup the day we came, but all the soups are made fresh daily. Corn chowder was the daily special when we came, @Frank B. ordered it and said it was very tasty. The place is connected to a consignment store and only has about 8 tables to eat at. We got there at just the right time because after we took our seats 3 more groups came in and the place was packed. They also offer carry out, which could be great for the hospital around the corner (note to self when staying there in the future).

A little lunch place, in a re-sale and real estate store. In fact some of the tables for the cafe are sitting in the re-sale shop. Right on the main drag of Berkley (12 Mile). Fairly busy with locals coming in and picking up lunch. A good selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches, with combo meals available. Good portion size and quality of the food. I went the Maurice Salad - its was OKay - a little heavy on the dressing. I think its a better option than the standard national chains.
