We went here late afternoon and ended up eating so much ice cream that it ended up being our dinner! Couldn't decide on flavours, so decided to each get a sampler boat of 5 scoops each, and between us, managed to eat them all. A really nice selection of fruity flavours, including several lovely sorbets, plus more sweet options including a fantastic salted caramel and butter pecan. Extremely friendly service, nice area to sit down and enjoy the ice cream. Just wished we could have gone several times on the trip. I include this on my list of top ice cream worldwide, the other two are Berthillon in Paris and Paul A Young in London (and my guy includes Humphry Slocombe in SF, although I'm less of a fan), which was pretty surprising to find in Northern Michigan.

OMG, superb ice cream!!! Had chocolate/peanut butter and also butter pecan. I'm thinking "run of the mill" flavors but wife thinks they will taste special and by gosh she was so right! Best versions of these flavors I have ever had, creamy smooth, just addictive. Why oh why did I wait until the last night of my vacation to try Hill Top? Go every day, run off the calories and you will thank me!

I have never in my life had better ice cream!!! I really think Kalamazoo needs this place just for me! Wow!! The chocolate chip was absolutely divine. Yum! Homemade ice cream is the best! All Michigan ingredients.. Can't beat that!

Fantastic ice cream, malts and shakes! Sampler boat is 5 flavors -- enough to share. Probably spent $21 for 2 adults and 3 kids but you get what you pay for. Yum. Great outdoor adjacent garden patio, too.

BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD! Now that you know that, I can explain why. Using only the freshest ingredients and making all ice cream in store, makes for an experience unlike any other. All the ingredients are locally bought and you can taste it, it is, by far, the freshest best tasting ice cream I have ever had. A clean store with plenty of variety. The owners are wonderful people and will make you feel very welcome and provide a personalized experience. You owe it to yourself to have a store made waffle cone next time you are in Benzonia.

Excellent ice cream, definitely among the best I've ever had. I had a waffle cone with one scoop chocolate covered strawberry and one scoop chocolate chocolate chip. The strawberry ice cream was delicious and fresh tasting, the chocolate chips were decadent, and the chocolate ice cream was rich and velvety. Oh my goodness. Went back the next day and tried the mint brownie ice cream--it wasn't nearly as good, but still very tasty (just not quite minty enough for me). Go with the flavors that feature local fruit--you will definitely taste the difference. Since the ice cream is made in-house, they feature different flavors; even though I was there two days in a row, the flavors available were slightly different each time. Service was friendly and upbeat, and the price was fair for the quality. Too bad I was only in town for a few days--I would have loved to try some of the other items on the menu.

This is ice cream at its best: fresh, creamy, delicious. The service is friendly and the view at sunset from the deck is spectacular. We will be back.

Sinfully rich ice cream made with milk from local dairies and, when possible, local fruits and other flavorings. I had a wild blackberry ice cream here that was delicious. The Hill Top is hard to find; it's on the side street adjoining the one supermarket in town, in a strip mall that also includes a florist shop. It's well worth making the effort to find.
