Incredible breakfast. My kids and I came here on a Sunday morning after a late night at the Cherry Bowl and we were not disappointed. On the outside it doesn't have the greatest look being in a strip mall, but the wait staff was quick and friendly and the food was well made a delicious. I had the corned beef hash which is the best I have had in a long time. My kids had an omelette and a daily special cinnamon bun french toast. If they have this when you go, I highly recommend it.

Wow. We ate here for breakfast and it was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had.... And yes more then one person in our party called it the best breakfast they have ever had. I had a skillet crossed between the tackle box and the Heather. AMAZBALLS.

Came in on a Saturday, late morning. The restaurant was busy. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted and receive menus. After ordering it took a generous amount of time for the food to come out. The food was great. Biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, pancakes - all satisfied. Only 3 stars because of the slow service from beginning to end.

Great breakfast! We had the Tacklebox skillet and the corned beef hash and eggs. Portions are very generous, the food was surprisingly very tasty. We had been eating a buffet breakfast at our resort the last few days and this was a welcome change. Don't let appearances fool you, the food is much better than you would expect from it's strip mall location and decor. This is small town Northern MI style, not resort style.

Just had a fantastic breakfast here. Husband and I both had skillets, mine was served steaming hot with farm fresh eggs, potatoes, bubbly cheese and delicious bacon and sausage. He opted for the Arthur Atkinson, also phenomenal. This is one of the few places with gluten free toast, and their biscuits are melt in your mouth buttery deliciousness. Our waitress was very friendly, between her and the three other waitstaff, I never found the bottom of my coffee cup. Just a terrific little shop all around that we'll definitely be coming back to.

So we've been going to Crystal for several years as we visit the area, annually. It's always just been a cheap place to go grab breakfast. However, this was the first year we went and absolutely HAD to go back. The new food was incredible. The food was made with REAL ingredients. The corned beef hash is a must, it was delicious. The homemade jams were addicting...if I could buy it and get it shipped, I would. Do yourself a favor and check out this place, you won't be disappointed. I know some of the "regulars" around town may not be happy, but all of the changes are really a positive, yes it is more costly but he quality is much better!

The Crystal Cafe is alive and well after a much needed makeover. They now focus on locally sourced food and everything is much fresher than before. Great coffee, Crescent Bakery bread, and homemade strawberry jam. The service was quite slow (an hour for breakfast) but the kitchen is small and they were packed. Breakfast and lunch only.

You know, I lived in the area my whole life. It's always been that the crystal cafe isn't the best of places to go to eat. This year they have a new menu, and new management. I really enjoyed my stacked hot turkey plate.home made onion rings are delicious right out of the kitchen. It was so flavorful and for the most part, local. I know it's the opening of this season with all these changes, so the staff had some problems with our orders. Hopefully they can polish up and work on going a little faster.

I'm really impressed with the new Decor and food at the Crystal Café. They try to use local ingredients, eggs, meat and vegetables whenever possible. Great meals cooked from scratch. Everything I've had on the menu has been great! The waitstaff has been welcoming & friendly with good service. I'd recommend going to breakfast or lunch there anytime.

First ignore any reviews prior to 2014. Crystal Cafe has changed and has either new owners or new management and the food is delicious ! The service was quick and personable both times I've been in. All fresh, homemade or locally made foods seem to be used. I'm a weekender up here, but I wish we had a nice little hidden gem like this back down state too.

They charge $1.99 for a cup of coffee. Coffee is listed no where on the menu -but you'll find it at the end of your check. Almost the slowest service I've ever experienced. Pizza not good, and the other food is the kind of greasy that isn't even tasty.

nice staff, terrible food! went for breakfast and they couldn't even get that right. steak and eggs...steak was like eating leather. should've gone to mcdonald's across the street for an egg mcmuffin instead.
