This Leo's is very close to home for us. For the location, price, and speed, it's a decent spot. I think their food is okay, fair at best, but they are fast and friendly. We tend to get take out omelets. Everything is well-packed. The omelets are large, filling and well-cooked. The toast is packed separately, so it doesn't get soggy. The hash browns almost always need some more crunch, longer time on the grill.

Ok; before I give my review, let me say....after reading other reviews I will agree on one thing. Yes; Coney Island food is pretty much generic across the board. But it still has to be fresh, and cooked right. With that being said.....my family and I decided to give this "Leo's Coney" a try, being that we've eaten at other "Leo's" before. Where do I start, this "Leo's" clearly is about producing food as fast as they can.....giving little to know regard to presentation or taste of the product. That in it self is bad.......considering we're talking about Coney Island Food. First; my pancakes were burnt and dry, so was the toast that came with my over-easy eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. What happen next, confirmed to me that, the owner and management has become completely relaxed on basic food handling guidelines. Upon sending back my toast, and pancakes.....my sister-in-law noticed our server removing my toast and buttering it.....with he's bare hands...... yep; the same server who has been wiping tables, gathering menus, and pour water refills. After speaking to the manager, she; pretty much acknowledge that their servers do handle food items, but should be putting on food handling gloves. The fact that she was so unmoved by what had just transpired, let me know this establishment needs a comlete retrain of Food Safety and Service Standards. My Overall experience was 2 out of 10. I won't be back.

I think this place gets an unnecessarily bad wrap. It is good food at a decent price. It is not a bistro or gourmet. It is a coney island and for the price it is worth visit.

We've been getting mostly carry out from this Leo's location as of late. The one thing that I do notice about this place is that it seems to be a revolving door in terms of staff. They always seem to be training new servers when I'm picking up a carry out- or if I'm trying to place one in person and the server needs help with finding items. The manager is very friendly, and they seem to have a lot of "regulars" who they know by name. One pet peeve of mine is that they have a whole big booth in the back that they use for all of the servers food, drinks, etc. which is in the area where you place and pick up carryouts. So when I come in for food, there are servers sitting there gossiping while they eat, or you can see all of the stuff they left sprawled all over the table and they come back in between tables to take bites of food. Considering Belleville isn't the greatest when it comes to food options, I'll take it.

Hey! It's a Coney Island!..and a pretty prototypical one, at that. I've been to a few Leos' and they're all pretty much that same. This was was slightly better than most, though. By that I mean the eggs and hash browns were not somewhat burnt. The taste was about that same, though. Not the highest quality food, but not too bad, either. Service was quick and attentive and the prices were in line with others restaurants in this genre. The facility was clean, well lit and nicely laid out.

The food here isn't of the best quality and is very bland. Also their prices are on a big mark up compared to other locations. Yet they're always busy. When you're the only place in town I guess you keep a steady clientele.

It's everything thing that you would expect from a Coney Island. The food is what it is - it hits the spot when you want Coney Island. The four stars is for the consistency in service. Everyone is always super friendly and my kids love the clown night.

I placed 2 orders of French fries for my fiancé and I this afternoon at 5:00 p.m.. I got to the restaurant at 5:06 p.m. I paid the bill, and took the food back home. By the time I opened both boxes of French fries they were cold and soggy. In only approximately 12 minutes my French fries were ice cold and soggy. I'm convinced they served me a bunch of old fries they wanted to get rid of before they spoiled... Never eating there again!!! There's no telling what else they'll serve me that may be dated...

The Honey Tree Grille that was previously located here was going downhill, ok it was spinning on an unstoppable downward spiral to an inevitable crash and burn. Just what Michigan needed, another Leo's. I don't mean that in an awful way but jeez they are indeed everywhere. This is not as good as my personal fave Leo's in Plymouth but it'll do. Friendly, fast and with most of the Leo's faves. Just give me a Greek or pasta Greek salad topped with tasty grilled chicken and I am a-ok here. The large Greek pasta salad is enough for three or four meals and is less than 8 bucks, happiness. I meet my dad here a lot. The patty melts here make my father quite happy especially with an o-ring substitution, he recommends a gyro with extra sauce and the coneys with a side of chili fries too. The man is near seventy and shockingly his cholesterol is fine. My much healthier eating mother had a multiple valve bypass before sixty though. Whose genes do you figure I got? I am not that lucky, trust me. I got the man's taste for fat and my mother's valves, I'm sure of it. I digress though... The breakfasts here are just meh. That goes for both sweet or savory, my husband was the sweet volunteer. Coffee was weak to boot. Swing by for lunch or just get lunchy things for breakfast, that's what I do. The score here is boosted by the terrific service and pleasant atmosphere. I got a to go salad the night before my 20 hour workday and woke to pack it up the next morning to realize they forgot the chicken, I called and they had me swing by for a whole new salad, all ready to go when I got there as they knew I was in a big rush. They threw in a ton of extras like warm pitas and extra dressing too. I tried to return the one they had given me the night before and they told me to keep it. That is true customer service (and a happy coworker).

The manager was yelling for waitresses while it took 45 minutes to get our breakfast. Toast was soggy and the pancakes were dry & crumbly. Not coming back - ever.

My wife & I tried out Honey Tree a few times before it crashed and burned. It was a real loser. We didn't like it because of bad staff. We have visited the Leo's in Ypsilanti once or twice. Its O.K. we have had lunch several times at the one on Wastenaw Ave, near Ann Arbor. The staff is friendly and competent. We have actually become fond of the new Belleville Leo's. Partly due to the franchise owner, who invests a lot of time there overseeing the dinning room and greeting regular and new customers. Partly, we like this Leo's because of the menu, which unlike the several other Coney Island eateries in the area, reflects the owners understanding that it should appeal broadly, not narrowly in one size fits all. Unlike other local family type restaurants, the menu permits a lot of individualizing. Several of the lunches and dinners have both main fare and full meal versions, which is great for people who must avoid or watch certain foods such as carbohydrates and who choose not to eat a lot. Belleville residents lost a local institution when the Red Apple owners retired. They were hard working people who had a large customer base. The restaurant that replaced it is not even a shadow of the former Belleville institution. Leo's Coney Island could pick up a lot of the displaced Red Apple regulars who want a friendly family place with competitive prices and an owner who wants to cater to what locals seek. An excellent addition would be Leo's adding some unbreaded, broiled fish choices. Right now, this Leo's has L. George's and the two other nearby coney islands beat when it comes to prices and heart and diabetic healthier menu choices, I assure the owner there is a place here for a true professional restaurant operator who personally oversees the dinning room and greets & chats with his customers. Not everyone likes the grocery store approach of the restaurant chains, where "management:" means only low paid shift overseer, supervisor of time cards & bank deposits.

It's amazing how they manage to make food devoid of any type of flavor. Hardest worker there is probably the microwave.

It's a leos! Of course it's good! We used to go to the one on Whittaker rd regularly and were pleased to find one here after our move. The diner that WAS here was terrible! We were so happy to see Leo's moved in!

I came here one weekday afternoon for lunch and it was great. The wait staff was very friendly and courteous, even making suggestions, the chicken lemon soup is AWESOME! The manager even came out to check on us while we were eating, which I like. Shows they value me as a customer too. I would highly recommend!
