Best breakfast north of the 45th! Original recipes by Paulie...best sausage gravy anywhere. They have your basic breakfast fare just done better than you've ever had. Highly recommend the pancake...it's the only place I order pancakes because I'm usually not a fan...I like the blueberry pecan ones. The southern omelette is delicious. I would suggest adding a side of sausage gravy with it. Very reasonably priced.

We decided to try the Depot out based on the Yelp reviews. Glad we did! My wife and I got there late morning on a Friday, so it wasn't too busy. The inside looks like a converted train depot and has that 'old, antique' thing going on, with train-related decorations around. Nice enough and not too fancy, which is just fine with me. I saw they offer house-made corned beef hash on Friday, Saturday and Sunday so I, a lover of corned beef, went for that. My wife got the pancakes with the house-made raspberry sauce. The wait wasn't too long and our food was pretty good. I could tell the corned beef was the real thing, a definite plus. All I could wish was that the seasoning on it was a bit lighter. My wife really loved her food, saying the pancakes were the best she's ever had. That's high praise coming from her. Only negative was our waitress, though nice when dealing with us, didn't check on us. See, my wife has a test for how good the waitress is; if she keeps the drinks filled then she's good and, if we have to ask for refills, then she's not so good. This time our waitress scored kinda low. We're looking forward to having dinner here sometime soon.

Best restaurant between The Big Chicken, aka the Levering Cafe, and Petosky. The DLB is overrated and expensive, which demotes them. Dam Site is mediocre (and also expensive), and the folks who took over Bob's are understaffed and make weak food, as a table of ten confirmed in July. Nothing at the table was good. The Depot, however, puts out délicious and hearty food, is extremely reasonable, has nightly specials like prime rib, fish fry, and of course their enormous breakfasts. It's a solid place and the anchor on that whole stretch of the highway.

Split a full rack of bbq ribs with my wife and 4 beers total and the tab was 43.00. Great prices and a good selection of beers. Friendly staff too. We liked so much we are back here again for lunch.

Great food easy to read menu, not cluttered. Had to wait 20 minutes for the "chefs" speciality when forgotten from our order. Hey chef, it wasn't that special, pram whitefish with a cheap cream sauce? Come on everyone has that up here, be different. Other than the wait it was a great time. The wedding cake was a notch below what they hyped but still good. We will be back and sit outside, the wind was nice.

This place was good. The server was nice and attentive. She screwed up one of our orders but took care of the mistake immediately. The food is simple fair but they offer a wide variety. I personally ordered the fajitas, and subbed the meat with mushrooms to make it vegetarian - the meal was good and filling!

Just like people said great food and even better service. Had the French onion soup and half of Reuben sandwich which was more than enough. Husband had fajitas and took half of it home. Yelp is our best friend when it comes to eating out. We're from Oregon and really recommend this place.

A cross between a restaurant and pub- grill set in a 1800's train station! Prim rib is outstanding great flavor! White fish is local, tried it potatoe incrusted and enjoyed it immensely! Well stocked bar with 12 brews on tap with some local brews. Staff very friendly and eager to assist. Stop in well worth it.

Parked the boat at the public docks and walked through the, uh, rustic, village of Alanson. Mom and wife were looking more nervous with every step. Glad we made the walk, the atmosphere and service were great. I love the old railroad tools and photos around this 130 year old train depot. Food was excellent. We mostly had breakfast for lunch (breakfast served until 2:00), biscuits and gravy are solid, get them. Crisp bacon ordered, crisp bacon received. The Depot is a nice surprise in Alanson.

Cute restaurant, friendly staff, great food, and even better prices! They had $.99 drafts. I had the chicken salad and my co worker had the prime rib! Both were very tasty.

Fries were good. Burger was cooked as specified. Buns were soggy . Meal loaf sauce --ugh. No comment.

Great little place for dinner. Had the white fish, batter was light and flakes. Very good! Had a shot called "apple pie", wow it was great. And tastes just like apple pie. Staff was friendly and was fast with the drinks and coffee refills. Will stop in again.
