I went to Spoonlickers for the first time with my two children. I had a gift certificate to use. The Greek yogurt was a bit tart but the toppings I chose were amazing (fresh strawberries and sugar cone bits). Both children had the cookies and cream with Twix pieces. They reported that their sundaes were good. The reason for the three stars was the service. The two clerks could not figure out how to credit the gift certificate against our total and ended up running my card multiple times before having to call the manager out to correct the problem. While all this was going on my children finished their sundaes so we did not get to eat together :( The manager was quite pleasant and credited the remainder of my total though. Overall Spoonlickers is pricey and needs to get their clerks trained.
This is the stuff that dreams are made of! I love everything about Spoonlickers right down to their decor. Of course, their yogurt and toppings are amazing. I've been to plenty of build your own fro yo places but NOTHING compares to Spoonlickers. I only wish I was closer to a store.
Great frozen yogurt. 10 flavors and tons of fresh toppings. A great addition to the ice cream choices in Ada.

Saburba is definitively one of the best restaurants in the Grand Rapids area. If you don't live in Ada, consider their food a good reason to visit. The bibimbap is my personal favorite dish.
Got the classic Italian sandwich for lunch and it was excellent. Only problem was that I could've eaten four of them and it was $10. I will definitely go back for more, want to try the soups which seem to have good reviews. I'll plan on spending $20 for lunch if I want to be full for the afternoon. Otherwise service was terrific and ingredients were outstanding; definitely a memorable sandwich.
As so many have already said, the food choices are creative and delicious with desserts that are amazing and a reason to come here all by themselves, but does everyone know they cater? Saburba just did a small event for us that was fantastic with a cheese tray that was creative, beautiful, and delicious, and a veggie tray that was more of a presentation than just a veggie tray. I heartily recommend them for any size event!!!

This is by far the BEST sandwich place I've been to in West Michigan. The bread is freshly baked and amazing. I'm the type of person who could eat bread all day long given the perfect conditions - fresh, soft, and flavorful. The rye bread here definitely met all requirements. I got the Reuben sandwich on rye and could not put the sandwich down. The portions are huge as you really shouldn't finish off an entire sandwich in one sitting but I most definitely did. The corned beef was tasty, but not too salty, and sauerkraut was just the perfect amount of sour. They didn't overdo it on the Thousand Island sauce which most places do. I've been to this establishment twice and it hasn't failed me yet. It feels like a nice homey sandwich shop but I'm told they serve dinner as well. If you're looking for a delicious sandwich place, I would highly recommend!!
We love this place. Don't be fooled by the description as a deli and coffee bar. You can have a good deli lunch here- it's true. It is our fave local for dinner or for happy hour. They serve consistently good American food with a choice of casual or more upmarket fare. Jeff's meatloaf is delicious but we have had a great risotto with scallops and bacon and other specials that change regularly. They do a nice Black and Blue burger and great choice of salads which you can have with salmon, grilled chicken or shrimp if wanted. We love the calamari which is sautéed with garlic, chilli and fresh avocado. There is always a buzz to the atmosphere and Mark does a great job behind the bar. I have one thing I'd like changed which is the French fries- wish they changed from skinny ones to fat ones. But don't let that stop you trying it.
Despite getting past the hostess our dinner was awesome. Great bartender's, Server was delightful, manager attentive. The food was amazing, nice variety in entrees, sauces were unbelievable. We will be back

I ordered Mongolian Beef, House Special Lo Mein, Crab Rangoon, and Sesame Chicken - all of these doesn't taste good. I don't know why this restaurant has a 4-star rating. The foods that I ordered are all dry. For their menu, you have to go online and check it out. There was no prices for the food. The only thing I liked about this restaurant was their customer service and location. It was my first time ordering in this place, and I'm not going to again!
Not the best but not the worst. Rice was a little mushy but the orange chicken was really good.
Best Chinese and Korean food in the area. Simple storefront restaurant run by the friendly owners. Great for takeout too. They will make foods hotter or milder if you ask. Try the Twice-cooked pork and the Crispy Mandarin beef--fabulous! We love Ning Ye!

Papa K’s Pizza

Reviews:
We recently gave Papa K's a second chance after being disappointed when they first opened. They have greatly improved and we now believe they have the best pizza in Ada Twp. Pepperoni pizza with a butter parmesan crust is delish as was the #8 Garlic Parmesan Spinach Bistro Flatbread. Very very good with fair prices.
I am personally upset over the last review of Papa K's, and consider it an attack on the owner by either a recently dismissed employee with an axe to grind with the owner, or a jealous competitor, in my opinion. I personally know Tom and the management. I know how hard they work to make sure every guest leaves satisfied and willing to return. Mistakes happen. Tom and the staff bend over backwards to right mistakes. I doubt a mistake this egregious would be met so cavalierly; or if it ever happened at all. You see, I KNOW the beef is kept in the freezer until it is used to fill the daily beef container, and is then placed back INTO the freezer until its next use. Check out their and any other Kent County restaurants State of Michigan Health Inspection reports at accesskent.com/Health/Fo… . Their inspections speak for themselves. I implore you to stop by, see Tom and the crew, and enjoy some of the tastiest food in Grand Rapids!
Better than Little Ceasers, but not to the quality of Andrea's, Vitalie's, or Jt's. Toppings are good portions but crust is Fair.

The Ada Pour House Gastropub

Reviews:
This is my second time here. The first was during the very early days. This experience was much better overall. The waitstaff was wonderful, fast and polite. The restaurant was clean and had a nice warm environment. In ordered the steak frites med. rare and that is just how it arrived. Our only blip was that it did not arrive with a steak knife but a quick inquiry solved that. The prices are still a dollar or two high on most everything but the experience this time raised my opinion quite a bit. I will be back.
Date night! I was very curious to try out The Ada Pour House. All most all reviews I have read have been very polarized. People either love it or well don't. We arrived Saturday around 6:10 and got seated immediately. The outside patio looked tempting but it was already chilly outside so we opted for a high-top in the "bar" area so my husband could catch the last part of his football game. After a few minutes I was shivering anyway. The restaurant was cold! If I had wanted to shiver we could have just sat outside. Part of me gets it, as its that time of year where you start in a sweatshirt and end in shorts but when I looked around I saw several people sitting hands in sleeves and rubbing arms so I know I wasn't alone in being cold. APH time to turn down the air! They have an impressive bottled beer list and several on tap as well. If you are a craft beer lover chances are they are going to have something that will appeal to you. We asked or server what he likes "Corona". OK then, nothing wrong with that but it sounded funny when you are surrounded with literally 60 craft beers. For dinner I ordered the fried chicken dinner and my husband got the beef brisket sandwich. My dinner was delicious. The collard greens were spicy and perfectly cooked and the buttermilk mashed potatoes were to die for. I wish there had been one more piece of chicken. For $14 I got a leg and a tiny thigh, which were delicious but left me wanting more. My husbands sandwich was more disappointing. The brisket was very tough and chewy. It was impossible to bite through the sandwich without either having to chew on the brisket a few times to get through or pull it out in your teeth. He ended up taking it off the sandwich and eating it separately with a knife and fork. Sorry if the brisket is so tough you need a knife to cut through it, it doesn't belong on a sandwich. When I was about 2/3rds through my dinner our server asked if we wanted another drink. I ordered The Cinnamon Doughnut off their cocktail menu. Now I had been lusting after this drink after I saw it on EatGR and really it fueled my desire to check this place out. Picture a copper mug with iced coffee, Baileys, Cinnamon whiskey and garnished with a fat, homemade cinnamon and sugar doughnut hole soaking up all the goodness. Here's where my dream fell apart. Upon ordering, our server frowned a little and said "OK, just so you know the drink doesn't take long but the doughnut can" Since I wasn't even finished with my dinner or first drink, and since I had ordered it as more of a dessert I said no problem. About 8 minutes later I see the bartender make my drink and set it in the pick up area. About 4 minutes after that our server brings it to me and says "well heres the drink part I checked and the doughnut isn't ready" Umm ok (Its fried dough seriously?) The problem now was I had a drink with a lot of ice that was melting and watering down all the goodness. I took a few sips, and waited and waited and.waited. Kid you not it took nearly another 15 minutes for him to bring me the doughnut hole. It came so late that not only had I pretty much finished my drink but we had even got the bill (of which he had taken $2 off due to the incompleteness of my drink order) Sigh. Look if you're going to have a drink called the Cinnamon Doughnut, I think a pretty important aspect is to actually have the doughnut. I don't know what the issue was but they either need to get it off the menu or put a disclaimer that says *will take 45 minutes to prepare and for heavens-sake don't make the drink part (which only takes seconds) until its ready. My sheer irritation at this and the tough brisket is why this is a 3 vs a 4 star. I heard several times that they are going to be revamping the menu soon and we'll be back to check it out, hopefully with a better outcome.
Just got done with my third dinner at Ada Pour House and could not have been happier. We have gone with different groups of friends every time and everyone has enjoyed the food and experience every time. I noticed the reviews on here all have been from when they were first starting up and wonder if it has anything to do with the negative feedback. The first time that we went was in the first week that they were open and things seemed a little hectic since then every visit has been wonderful. Tonight we had the beef tar-tar and calamari appetizer and both were done perfectly. The tartare was one of the best I have ever had and I order it at every restaurant I go to that serves it. They do homemade fried capers that really made the dish. The fried macaroni bites and tater tots were just okay from the appetizer menu. I have nothing to complain about with them they're just did not seem to be anything special. Twice I have gotten their hamburgers and both times they were worth the $15. They use 60% brisket and 40% ground Chuck beef that is locally sourced from Byron Center farms and is worth the extra couple dollars. Another nice thing about the menu is the fact that they serve a 30 ounce ribeye steak that is fantastic. They also allow you to choose the size of cut for beef tenderloin that you would like making it easy to do any châteaubriand if you want a large dinner. Overall, this was a great dining experience and a place I would recommend anyone looking for a informal fantastic dinner.
