Getting out Thai on this place hit the spot! Chicken pad Thai was great and what a huge portion! Good thing I'm not a quitter :-) The fresh spring rolls were good, fresh and well balanced. My wife had the chicken satay and was very happy with it- chicken was well flavored and moist. Good experience overall!

Before I tried Siam Square, I did not like Thai food. I have come to realize that my dislike of Thai had nothing to do with the type of food, instead it was the restaurants I had it at. Siam Square showed me that I in fact love Thai food and this is the place to go for it. Their pad thai is simply awesome. I have tried it with chicken, tofu and shrimp, but on my most recent trip I tried the roasted duck, and it was excellent. The serving size is gigantic...plenty for lunch the next day. I also enjoy ordering a few apps before the meal and all are great...check out the fried rolls, spring rolls and crab rangoons and chicken patay. All are excellent. On other occasions I have had tastes of the curry dishes and really enjoy them as well. Long story short, you may have a hard time deciding what to order, therefore you may over order, leave happily full, with a large amount of left overs. That was the food...The restaurant is very conveniently located for me, and is nicely decorated for what I would consider a mostly take out establishment. I have eaten in several times and it is really charming and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and they have a full bar as well as some specialty beers. I have yet to find another Thai restaurant in the Portland area to match the quality.

Quaint interior with awesome food! It's located right downtown Westbrook. We had the drunken noodles with a spicy level of 3 (out of 4) and it was awesome! We also had the ginger snow peas stir fry and, although the "jumbo" shrimp were regular sized tail-ons, the dish was very good (not spicy). The crab rangoons were incredible and came with a sugary citrus dipping sauce. The pot stickers appetizer were only average. The service was very good for a Wednesday nite and we didn't have to wait at all for our drinks, our apps, or our dinner. We'll be back again!

Siam Square is a small, quiet thai restaurant in Westbrook, right along the rotary. Not hard to find, but a slightly awkward location. I think because of this, it must be a less frequently traveled place. Both times I have eaten there, we have been the only seated table for most of our meal. The staff is friendly and I have not had to wait long for the food. During this last visit, we ordered a couple of appetizers before the meal (spring and egg rolls). The spring rolls were good and came with a plum dipping sauce. I can't personally vouch for the egg rolls because I am vegan, but the rest of the dinner guests said that they were good. For dinner I ordered a green curry with tofu. It was quite delicious! Served in a large bowl with tons of veggies and some rice on the side. You can order this dish with varying degrees of heat (1-4) and I ordered a 2, which was plenty spicy. The portion was large and I ended up taking about half home for dinner the next night. Overall a good experience and I'm sure we will go back.

Siam Square is my favorite Thai place in the Westbrook/Portland area. Their drunken noodles and chicken pad thai doesn't even compare to any place I've been. The atmosphere seems a little odd when you first walk in and the decor is less than desirable (it looks like it hasn't been updated in years) but that's what gives this restaurant it's charm. There may not be a lot of people eating in the restaurant, but don't let that fool you as someone who sits inside to eat, it seems that most people are ordering take out rather than sitting down in the restaurant. The food. Oh my goodness the food. There hasn't been one thing I've tried here I haven't liked, even the tea. Like I mentioned above, my favorites are the drunken noodles and the chicken pad thai. I also really enjoy the Crab Rangoon and the steamed dumplings. Everything seems so fresh and made with care. The service is adorable. I know what you're thinking, how can the service be adorable? However, it's the only way to describe it. The waitresses I've had are always super sweet and patient with my family and especially my mom, who tries to order "zero" spice. I don't think zero exists, but I'm usually good with a "1". Whenever possible, I'll definitely keep coming back when I'm craving Thai food.

The pad kee Mao is to die for. The service is great. Not too invasive, but always there when you need something. Be careful about the spicy level you order. It gets pretty intense. Definitely worth a try or many.

I go here about once per week - the owners are friendly and will remember your name and what you order. I've been to many area Thai restaurants in the Portland area and this takes the cake, hands down!

The best Thai food in Portland and better than ones in Columbus Ohio. I ate at a place comparable to this in Frederick, MD. Wow! I loved my chicken green curry. Maybe my love might be from eating just seafood the last three days. This place gave me a happy stomach and ended my trip in Portland perfectly. I order the green curry at spice level 1 on a 1-4 scale. Perfect blend as the sweet green curry cools your mouth and the spice tingles your lips after a few seconds. The green curry had some nice chunks of eggplant and pineapple that added to its deliciousness. I would order this every time here. My wife ordered the Pad Thai at a spice level 2 and thought they might have confused our orders when I didn't think mine was super spicy. (Hers wasn't that spicy, she just can't handle much spice anymore). The Pad Thai was good with a hint of sweetness that you don't always get. Believe the other reviews and get the Crab Rangoon. It is easily the best I have ever had. I considered ordering this for dessert just to get some again. If I was here in Portland another day, I would return and order 2-3 orders of them for lunch. The waitress was good and the food was prompt. My food was piping and I mean piping hot. This food goes straight from the pan to the plate to the table without more than 10 seconds of cooling down. She makes everything here even the crab Rangoon. I am in love with this spot.

Took 20 minutes to order a drink. Was not busy when we arrived and yet no service. After 30 minutes waiting still no drink and place became busy. Only one person seating people, waitressing, bartending, taking phone orders, and ringing up take out. I'll update in a bit once drink and food arrive. Crab Rangoon arrived, they're okay. Still no drinks....okay so after my fiance went up to our waitress at the bar and reminded her about our drinks we finally received them 40 minutes after being here. 1 melon ball and 1 long island ice tea....I feel bad for her she can't do everything. They need to hire more help. Its not fair to their staff or customers. I will add on once food arrives, I am hoping as good as reviews say. Food arrived. I got 3 star spicy chicken fried rice, it was good. He got 5 star pad Thai he said not that great, too sweet. We won't be coming back, if anything take out. If service wasn't so horrible I would've given 3 stars at most.

The person taking the order could not understand what we wanted. They missed a dish we ordered and didn't even understand when we confronted them about the missing food.

I thought this place was very good, when here for lunch. Food was great, service was quick.

While not the best Thai you'll ever have, it does make for a decent meal. Some of the apps leave something to be desired and the Pad Thai is good byt not spectacular. The service is wonderful and the Curry dishes are very nice. Stick with the basics and you'll have a decent meal with very nice staff.

Can I just say this place rocks for Thai food.? This place rocks! Ok i said it again. Both times I have been there I have had the tom yum soup and the orange chicken with a number 3 spice level(4 is spiciest). The 3 was just right for me. Both items were delicious and make me want to keep going back for more. I have experimented a little with a few different Thai places in the area and so far this is number one in my book. Service was excellent too! My friend had the pad Thai and the portion was so big, she took half home with her. The crab Rangoon as an appetizer hit the spot as well. You never know with the Rangoon what you are going to get, but these were crispy on the outside and tasty goodness on the inside. Overall, It was a Thaitastic experience!

Fresh prepared to order thai food that tastes great. We love this place and will schedule errands so that we can stop by Siam Square for a meal. Well worth the visit. I've had the House Fried Rice, Chicken Green Curry, Pad Thai, and the Pa Ram. All are excellent.

How have I not written a review for Siam Square? When I used to live in Maine, this was my go-to place for Thai food - partially because it was so close to where I lived, partially because it was so damn good! There are a couple of menu items that I judge all Thai restaurants by. Fresh Summer Rolls, Pad Thai and Panang Curry. All of the above are really good - not the best I've had, but really, REALLY solid performers. I got to the point where I knew the owner by name and when she heard my voice on the other end of the phone, she knew exactly what I wanted. They always did a good job on the spice (5 stars please) and were happy to accommodate my dietary needs - no egg, no fish sauce. The restaurant itself has a great family feel and is always very clean. Jan does a great job of hiring friendly, attentive people.
