My fiance and I eat here at least once a week. We generally get their burritos (He does steak, I do black bean/no meat) but lately weve gotten the quesadillas. OMG If you haven't eaten at Las Olas, go there today. It's fast, it's inexpensive, and it's YUMMMMY! Tips: Skip the Pico de Gallo, Get the Pineapple salsa. Quesadillas- ask for the toppings in a separate dish than the 'dilla itself, as it gets soggy quickly if you don't. Grab yourself a blueberry soda and sit down, shush up, and enjoy.

Good food. I'll need to come again for more food feedback. Tacos were a bit pricey for what you get but pretty tasty. Staff is nice corny jokes and all. I definitely recommend anyone try it. I will again.

Haven't had Mexican food this good since Lola's Taqueria food truck was on the Brunswick village green. The tacos, burritos, and nachos here were really good. Wish they had a place in Brunswick, too. :) And service was so friendly.

If u want some good fresh Mexican this is the place. Huge selection and everything is fresh. I got the chicken burrito and it was huge and sooooo good. I'm not much of a writer so hey check it out its the good good. To the owners just a suggestion, can't really tell it's a resturaunt from route 1, so maybe something that will help people identify that its a food spot.

We discovered this place a few weeks ago when searching for Celiac-friendly restaurants in the Wells area for my sister. This place had great reviews on "Find Me Gluten Free" so we decided to check it out. The place is bright, and they have a pretty decently sized menu. They notate clearly on the menu that everything except the flour tortillas are gluten free, and when my sister mentioned she has celiac, they promptly washed down all the counters, put foil down on the grill where they heat the tortillas, and took toppings out of the fridge for her that are kept completely separate. We also had a vegetarian in our midst, and she was appreciative that they offered portobello mushrooms and sweet potatoes as taco fillings instead of just beans and rice. The food is absolutely delicious, and we have been back several times since. Definitely a new staple for a quick lunch when we're out and about!

Wish I lived closer, I'd be here all the time! The space is huge with tons of seating and ample parking. The staff are super friendly and outgoing. Really make you feel like they are there to serve you, and happily, which is so rare. The prices are very reasonable. Good quality and value! The nachos were super good. The chips aren't coming from a bag, they are deep friend, golden tortillas. So tasty! The toppings were generous and the staff offered to put most of them on the side because my husband and I couldn't agree on what we wanted (me: refried beans, him: guac & pico). Plus, the pork on top was SO GOOD. My burrito was heaven. Stuffed to the gills but rolled perfectly. No splitting, no breaches, and no eruptions. I got a combo of veggies - including delicious sweet potato - and it was really good.

working right down the road is super convenient for when I'm starving in between class and my shift. staff is great and always remembers me, great food and atmosphere. A+++ guacamole and their chips are so good it's insane. way better than chipotle in my book.

For what it is, 5 stars. It is clean, fast, delicious and reasonably priced quick casual Mexican that is a cut above similar places like Chipotle and Qdoba. Not only was the food delicious, but the selection and quality are what set this place apart. For instance, the tortilla chips are homemade and the cheese on the nachos is real, not a cheese sauce. I went with a group and everyone raved about what they had. Keep up the good work!

  • Jeffrey G.

Very quick service from an attentive staff. Fresh food made in front of your face. Nothing pre made sitting under heat lamps. I have had the burrito and steak bowls. Both very good and there is a huge selection on the menu for everyone's various tastes. Will be back!

  • Stefani F.

Pretty terrible. The pork on my tacos were flavorless and dry, the retried beans were THE blandest thing I think I have ever had, and the cheese on the quesadillas literally tasted like vomit. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the pineapple salsa was pretty good and we were served with a smile. Sorry, Las Olas, I just don't get the appeal.

I heard about this place from a coworker and I'm so happy I checked it out. Fresh food with good flavor, that's all I need. It's nice to have a quick Mexican eatery around, specially one that is open year-round for us locals. It deserves 5 starts because the food was tasty, fresh and portions were generous with reasonable pricing. There is a good selection of items without feeling overwhelmed by all the choices, the place is clean, bright and the atmosphere felt great. I will recommend this place with confidence.

It's still new, so the whole place is clean, crisp, and bright. The openness is welcome. We encountered no line, but the "choose the shape of your meal" placard posted early in the queuing section was still handy, setting the stage for a quick pass through the cafeteria-style serving section. Two salads and a burrito were all given thumbs up and none of the three of us finished every bite. Service was decent, a bit cool and automatic, befitting a fast food spot. Prices were just a bit high; a meal and a drink run about $10. Try the pineapple salsa -- sweet and hot.

We have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Las Olas Taqueria and we were not disappointed. We went on the day of the "soft opening" and although things were understandably a little crazy, we were extremely happy with our delicious food. We ordered takeout for the family: one bean burrito, one chorizo bowl, a veggie burrito and a beef burrito. I am not sure how "authentic" this mexican food is, but it is fresh, locally sources and delicious. If you want a fine dining or authentic mexican meal, then you probably aren't going to find it here. But if you want good food, a nice casual/fast atmosphere (which is key in this beach community), this is your place. Welcome to Wells, Las Olas!

Delicious. My group of three will be back for sure. Great vegetarian and gluten free options. Fresh and tasty. Make sure to try the chorizo. They offer burritos, tacos, quesadillas, bowls, salads, nachos, tostadas, salads, nachos, and fajita plates with your choice of deliciously prepared with main ingredient of just beans or chicken, ancho beef, chorizo, grilled veggies, pork or steak. We tried many combos, all were great.

Extremely clean, which is hard to do in a beach town! The food was good and the service was polite. Great place to go after a day out or for food to take home for a movie night!

We are from Texas. This is as close as it gets. The hot sauce is HOT with habanero peppers. The pinto beans are wonderful. Everything is made fresh and in front of you. Good service and a great value.

As with the Las Olas location in Exeter, NH, this informal spot will fill you up with fresh food fast. Perhaps just a tad pricey, but delish. Bright and fun atmosphere as well. Service is friendly and patient with indecisive patrons.

Chipotle style resturant where all the food is made right infront of you! And guac is not extra! I enjoyed the steak fajitas but with the flour tortillas, corn tortillas have no flavor. My mom enjoyed the nachos which she said were very flavorful; like others she loved the Pinapple Chipotle salsa. We'll defineitly be back!

Amazed. Such a good example of Cali-Mex, and in Maine?!?! Try the pineapple chipotle salsa, so well balanced. Overall, great, and they were so nice to my 17month old. Will definitely come back.

The tacos here are great! Love that it is in my hometown! I love the pineapple salsa! I do wish you could slow cook your pork. The pork you currently serve is awful! It's so dry and tasteless.. The chicken and beef tacos are spot on! I will be coming back hoping soon you will be able to have soft moist pork for your tacos! Instead of that burnt stuff..

We were so pleased with our experience here. We came in on a whim, just needed to get our young kids some real food for lunch before blizzards at DQ. We were so happy with the quality and the taste of the food we got, we went back for seconds. There is literally something for everyone here, they will assemble your taco to your specifications, so vegetarians etc can be accommodated. One of our children has very specific thoughts on ratios of cheese to chicken and the women who waited on us were even happy to accommodate that. Seriously, swing by, it is delicious and the service is friendly.

This is easily the worst Mexican food I've ever had. A prominent ingredient in my meal was the refried beans and they tasted like nothing. In their nothingness, the beans simply felt like ash in my mouth. Meanwhile, my siblings had a quesadilla which I tried to rid myself of the disgusting flavor my meal had. Unfortunately this simple meal was also horrible. I don't know how you mess up cheese but I couldn't finish my meal and left with a bad taste in my mouth.

Really fresh, great tasting Mexican food. Pork burrito with pineapple chipotle salsa was delicious. Added a side of sweet potatoes. They were roasted in the shape of a French fry and were caramelized, with a slight crunch yet soft on the inside. Delicious! Bought a cute t-shirt for just $7. Fast, friendly service in a clean restaurant with fair pricing.

A very solid taqueria, and would be regardless of its location. See, I'm inclined to grade Las Olas up on the scale due to its scenic Maine'liness, but if it was sitting in the middle of a city I'd grade it just as high. The service was friendly, the selection of meats and vegetables were impressive (everywhere should serve chorizo), and the portions were immense. Great work out of Las Olas.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
