I've been here many times and the food and prices are really good here. The food presentation is really nice and unique compared to every other Chinese place I've been to. They give you your meal in cafeteria style trays (not as trashy as it sounds). The interior is updated and the place is really clean and has a good look to it. Just don't waste your time ordering their alcoholic drinks. Their made with mostly mix and very little booze. The service from the wait staff is only OK. I seem to get a different waitress every time, so it appears their employees don't stick around for too long for whatever reason. I'd go back for the good only.

Wow, one of the best Chinese restaurants I've ever been to, in Sanford Maine??? Yes! The portions are huge, the drinks strong, and the food, oh the food is oh so tasty. The General Tso's and Sesame Chicken have big white meat chunks with no unpleasant gristle, and perfectly crispy batter. The Kung Pao Chicken had fork tender slices. And my favorite item is the Tangerine Crispy Beef. Americanized Chinese? Yes. Amazing flavor? YES. I love this restaurant.

I don't know how it got the previous 3 reviews. Gave them 2 tries for lunch, once for dinner, and one takeout. Food was overcooked, but served cold, and the orange chicken was literally covered with dry crystallized pseudo-sauce. Will not waste money there again. Drive the extra 10 miles to go to Wells.

This place is very cool with a nice atmosphere. Food is very good and service is top shelf all the way. Will be back again even if just for the hot n sour soup!!

Best Chinese in Sanford right now. We usually get the Honey Walnut Shrimp...shrimp is huge, served with a sweet and creamy sauce. Their crab Rangoon are delicious as well. The inside is nice, I usually do take out though. The staff is always very friendly

This place immediately took the mantle from Golden Palace and ran with it! Very sad to see GP go, but green tea really took off as the best Chinese food in Sanford shortly after! Some of the authentic Chinese noodle dishes are great! Awesome inexpensive luncheon specials as well!

Everyone on yelp was talking about the tangerine beef. So I ordered it. Thanks yelp. It was delicious. Good beef and lots of fresh broccoli. I also got an order of pan fried noodles to go. They look good also. The staff was very friendly. This was the best Chinese food I have had in a while. Wished I lived here, so I could try more dishes.

Compared to the garbage the other area Oriental restaurants offer, Green Tea takes the prize. Great bar, really cool interior and good, friendly service. Never been disappointed. I go twice a month.

My wife and I have always been a very big fan of this place ever since it opened. We rarely have to wait for seating. The decor and ambiance is probably a 7 out of 10 for a date - definitely far better than any other sit-down dining places in this town. We love how the bar area is well isolated from the quiet dining area. Wait staff are very friendly and very experienced. A few times waiting for the food took slightly longer than expected, but the result was always the same - top-ratings for taste and quantity. Love the pu-pu platter (one of our favorites here). If you're looking for an after-movie place to take your date out for dinner that is reasonably priced and not overly formal, this is perfect. It isn't 5-star dining - but it's a place where you could dress up with a date and not feel out of place either. There's a good mix of customers. This is one restaurant that I absolutely hope never closes down like so many others have in this area. It's the one place that we like to return to again and again whenever we have our "date night".

Green Tea opened up several months ago, which is located across the street from McDonald's. This Asian restaurant has a clean and modern atmosphere inside which has a lounge section with TV and a full bar with a cool blue light glowing from under the front of the long bar counter, decorative hanging lights & Chinese decorative ornaments, and a full service dining room with bright lime green and red colors. Green Tea serves up mostly Chinese cuisine with few Japanese and Vietnamese dishes on the menu as well. For appetizers, they have satay chicken & beef, lettuce wraps (chicken or lobster) tempura, Vietnamese summer roll, and more. Noodle soups such as yaki udon and beef rice noodle soups are offered. Pad Thai noodles, chow foon noodles (wide), Shanghai pan fried noodles, Singapore street noodles, honey walnut roasted shrimp, crispy duck, mango chicken, and tangerine crispy beef are some of the many dishes offered. 16 Luncheon Specials ($5.50-$8.25) and 17 Dinner Combinations ($9.75), served with pork fried rice are offered too. See the menu at greenteasanford.com/sub.… I stopped in here recently and ordered lunch takeout. I ordered the L16 Szechuan Spicy Lo Mein ($6.95) with Pork Fried Rice and 3 Beef Triangles, which was ready to go in about 12 minutes after ordering. The portion of hot food was a good sized. The lo mein dish had a good mix of firm noodles, peppers, carrots, sprouts, onions, tender chicken and beef with a spicy flavor and a bit oily, a very good choice. The pork fried rice was okay, pretty standard firm rice (brown color) with small pork cubes, The beef triangles were pretty good, fried crispy outside with moist ground beef inside, duck sauce for dipping. There was definitely enough food for 2-3 lunches, which I enjoyed back at work. Overall, I had an enjoyable "lunch" - I meant to say enjoyable "lunches" especially with the good flavors of the spicy lo mein and crispy beef triangles. I want to try out the lobster lettuce wraps and the beef chow foon next time I stop in here.

Appearance- Located across from McDonalds and Dairy Queen, this place has a beautiful outside appearance. Clean, bright, and very nice appeal. The inside is a knock out. Beautiful set up, lots of neon lights, clean, and crisp. You can see that the owners put a lot of time, money and effort into making this place look and feel great! 5 stars. Service- The staff is very nice, helpful and friendly. Walk in and they greet you. I ordered take out once, went in to pay and they even offered me water or tea while I waited. 5 stars. Food- It was awesome. Flavorful, colorful, delicious! The portion sizes were perfect. A pupu platter for 2 could actually feed 3. Great value, and great quality. Some things were a bit greasy, especially the pork ribs, but still delicious. 4 stars. Take Out- There is no difference between dine in and take out! 5 stars. Overall 5 stars. Give this place a try, I think you will enjoy it!

Horrible waitress service, subpar food. My one (and only) trip to the Green Tea was comical. First we ordered a pupu platter as an app while we looked over the menu. After ordering a couple of entrees and friend rice to share the waitress came out and said the rice was ready, would we like to start with that? Um, hello - who starts with just rice?? A few minutes later she brings out the entrees and (now cold) rice. She then asked if we needed anything else, and we were like - our appetizer? Apparently she forgot to put the order in. The sauce on the entrees was full of black pepper and salt. About 10 minutes later (and never checking on us) she tells us that they "have a lot of takeout order so it'll be a few more minutes". She never apologized for the error, had a manager stop by etc. Another ten minutes goes by and she brings the pupu. It was just ok. Overfried egg rolls and crab rangoons and a funky coating on the boneless spareribs that was not pleasant. The only saving grace was the chicken wings, but really - how hard are they to make? While we waited for the check the manager did make rounds to every table but ours. Would NEVER go there again. Horrible all around.

We stopped for first time last week and tried lunch menu. Best bargain in town! We read the day's specials and were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was friendly and attentive and said that complimentary Hot and Sour soup came with all meals. It was delicious, not too spicy, very flavorful. My Kung Po chicken, boneless sparerib and pork fried rice (6.75) featured lots of fresh vegetables, tender pork ribs and rice that was not greasy. Took home enough food for lunch next day. We tried take out following week-Shanghai pan-fried noodles were loaded with beef, chicken and shrimp and fresh veggies in brown sauce (12.50).Although it was a Fri. night rush, our called-in order was ready on time and was perfect. It will be our new go-to for lunch when in Sanford!

We were looking for a Chinese restaurant in Sanford and this place was recommended by a local. The exterior of the building is adorable, the interior is very nice, and the bar area is very nicely done. The bartender is very entertaining. The staff was willing to make substitutions for me, all good. We ordered takeout and sat at the bar while we waited. We were totally sold on the place and couldn't wait to try the food. Unfortunately, the food did not measure up. The crab rangoons were bland and the wrappers were oily and greasy not dry and crunchy. The shrimp in my meal they made special for me was mealy. I tossed most of it out. The egg roll wrapper was thick and oily/ greasy not thin and crunchy. I pulled the filling out and ate that. The rice that came with the combo meals was just ok. The chicken finger coating again was awful. The steak teriyaki skewers were good as was the boneless spareribs. We wanted to like this place so much but this meal just did not cut it. If we go back we will sit at the bar and order a drink and a couple of not battered nor wonton wrapped appetizers and call it a day

This place opened recently, it's great to have more good restaurants in this area, which is seriously lacking! I don't hand five stars out unless I'm blown away. The food here has been great all 4 times I've gone, I especially like the pad Thai extra spicy! The chicken and shrimp in it are super fresh and huge, flavor is great and the portions are huge! For what you pay this place is a great deal I get 5 meals outta one I will continue to support. The atmosphere is really nice too, def check it out!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
