Our first visit to Mr. Wat's after hearing good things from many friends for a long time now. I had Yakisoba, which was excellent. Mari had the Sidewalk Spaghetti, which she seemed to enjoy thoroughly. The shrimp in her dish looked great! Ben was a little less adventurous going with the fried rice. He said it was great. He went with the fried coconut ice cream for dessert. It was a hit. Service was good. Prices reasonable. Menu had just enough depth to have a little something for everyone. We will be back!

Very delicious meal. My husband and I were feeling a bit under the weather but we forged ahead and began with a sake sampler and scallion pancakes which were hot crisp and not in the least bit greasy. The miso soup was hot and delicate and Not salty. We ordered wide noodles and tofu which was flavorful and full of crispy vegetables. The only complaint being a bit too sweet!

In the last year or so, sushi has become a favorite of mine. Typically I've gone out with friends and got what they ordered so I never really ordered anything for myself. So visiting this restaurant it was easy to figure out what I wanted: the sushi boat. A boat of various types of sushi that ranged from absolutely delicious to the excitement of trying something new. I was not disappointed at all. The sushi boat came at a relatively price given the amount of food that was served, (enough for me and my girlfriend). While I can't name everything I ate, because I didn't always know what I was eating; I really enjoyed it and recommend checking it out for yourself. My only real concern with the restaurant was the service. The service wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't particularly great. There was miscommunication about getting a check and service was slow when a normal amount of people came in. While some of this stems from a language barrier, there were other staff members that could have made things easier or checked up on us more often. Despite this minor setback, this restaurant was great and I hope I get the opportunity to try another plate when I'm in the area.

We came here for Christmas, and got sushi, miso soup and pad thai! The waiter was really funny and reminded us a bit of Napoleon Dynamite. My take on the food: The Pad Thai was fantastic, with lots of huge prawns and a really flavorful sauce. The sushi's contents were great, but the rice they use for it is wrong and it doesn't form together like it should. That said, I'm not going to mark them down for the wrong sushi rice, because the pad thai was just so good. I'll definitely back.

We are regulars here, and not just because we are local. The sushi is always great, and we love the gyoza as well. We went today with a Japanese student that is staying with us, and she was thrilled! The owners are super friendly, and given that the place is pretty small the get to see and greet just about everyone who comes in. When i go in I feel like norm at Cheers!

I met two friends for a late lunch, in August, and it was very good. I had a soft shell crab roll, miso soup and seaweed salad. FYI I had the Thai iced tea, and it was that best drink I have ever had. I love iced coffee with cream, so when they brought a rose colored iced tea with cream, I thought, "why not" and it was so good. It is a sweetened tea, and Had a wonderful aroma. I would go there again if only for the great tea and sushi roll.

We had a very good lunch here. Arrived at 2:15 and they serve lunch til 3. We sat at a table in the bar. We both ordered lunch boxes. Includes miso soup, salad, 2 shumai, 2 fried pot stickers and your choice of the main course. I had wide noodles with fresh tofu and veggies. My daughter had soba noodles with chicken and veggies. Comes with various dipping sauces. We would definently come back here. It was very good and was exactly what we were craving.

My wife and I visited here in early July 2014. We were the only customers in the place. The waitress seemed pleasant enough. We explained we were vegetarians. We asked about vegan options. Surprisingly, there was almost nothing in this oriental restaurant which really qualified as vegan. The waitress mis-communicated about the "no substitutions". She said "normally we don't have substitutions, but we can OFFER you a cucumber and an oshinko roll each". I interpreted that as meaning they would offer a substitution. The California rolls, which come with the meal, each contain cucumber and oshinko (pickle). All we were asking is that the sushi chef leave out the more expensive animal ingredients. The miso soup was watered down and tasteless. The tofu (bean curb) concoction for the the combo plate was greasy, not artfully or tastefully done. My wife's request for an iced tea refill resulted in a double charge for her tea. When the bill finally came, we saw that we were charged $3.95 extra, a piece, for having a stripped down version of the California roll, namely without the expensive crab meat and fish egg. The waitress said "sorry about the confusion about that". The owner overheard the whole thing, he refused to step in and retract the charges. We were very angry about this. It was absolutely foolish to alienate customers who were polite, who ordered the least expensive ingredients in this fish and animal protein heavy establishment. We thought, incorrectly, than an oriental restaurant would "get it" about vegetarianism and vegan-ism, but we were sadly mistaken. Even though the sign out front includes "noodles", we couldn't find a vegetarian noodle dish on the menu. As for "no substitution" rules, these only make sense when a place is very busy, is cranking out fast food. Sushi bars make sushi rolls, one at a time, by special order. It is not difficult, or time consuming to leave out ingredients. Adding more expensive or exotic ingredients is more onerous, which is not what we requested. We do not recommend this place.

I think this restaurant just open not long ago (not sure the opening date). I was taking photography class at Maine Media Workshop this week and we went to this place for dinner twice in two different day. The first time was great since it wasn't busy. The second time was awful. We started as 6 people but two left right after their appetizer. I ordered a sushi roll so my food was served about half hour after we ordered but three other people's food (2 Pad Thai and 1 Bento with soup) were served "an hour" later. We felt that either they forgot our order or massed up our order because we saw other table's food were served before us. The person who order the Bento didn't get the soup because it was sold out (after we asked for it because the person order the same food in both day so she knows there should be a soup). Chicken and Lobster Pad Thai were great (Sushi just ok) and the services were just ok on the second time we went. However, when we got our check we realized they charge 18% tips on 4 of us but not the 2 left early who didn't order dinner. We think the server deserve tip but the quality wasn't worth 18% so we asked the owner. The owner wasn't happy with our question just said he can't change what computer prints so we have calculate whatever tips we want to give ourselves. I think they could handle this better. Maybe they think that since we are not local people, it won't hurt their business. There are other great restaurants in the area so I will recommend you try other one first.

My boyfriend and I visited Mr. Wat Saturday evening around 5ish. Place wasnt busy and we were seated right away. I will say there were alot of people who come in to pick up there take out. We were placed right in front of the sushi bar which was fine. This was our 1st visit so we ordered the Sushi platter which had a little of everything. We enjoyed all of it. My boyfriend ate the whole plate and I ate all but one bite. Thats a sign of a good meal. Prices were good. We will go back again soon.

Fabulous caterpillar rolls! We asked where the seafood comes from (worried about nuclear tuna) we were informed everything comes off the docks in Boston! The coconut ice cream over sweet rice is a great way to finish off your meal!

Much higher quality Thai food then many in comparison in the Camden Rockland area. Excellent pad Thai and great curry dishes. Service can be slightly slow as can receiving your food once ordered. But over all happy experience. Reasonable prices, and no heart burn later. Thank you for a lovely family meal tonight!

The rice used in the sushi was not so good. However the vegetable tempura was delicious.

What a disappointing experience! This place was recommended to me bybseveral friends and I couldn't wait to try it. As it turns out, I'm only giving this place a second star because of its physical appearance. It used to be a small, outdated Dominos Pizza franchise. The new owners did a fantastic job renovating both the grounds and building. My compliments stop there. When my girlfriend Tricia and I first arrived there were two occupied tables. One was a family of four, the other was another couple. There were three waitress standing around in the kitchen and gabbing with each other, which was open for all patrons to see. To their credit, one of them seated us immediately, poured some waters, gave us our menus and asked if we'd like something else to drink. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine (the selection was extremely limited, but well priced) and she came back a few minutes later with them. So far, so good. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. Although the dinner rush hadn't fully arrived yet we had to wait ten or fifteen minutes for our waitress to come back and take our order. And I felt that was only after I turned around in my chair and gave her an inquiring look as she and her colleagues huddled in the kitchen. My girlfriend ordered the Pad See Ew Box, which was stir-fried Chicken, wide noodle, egg, broccoli, carrots and pea pods and accompanied by an iceberg lettuce salad, pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, a bowl of Miso soup and two small and withered California rolls. I ordered the Nigiri regular, which were six assorted types of seafood (one cooked shrimp, one mackerel , two tuna, a salmon and an eel) and again, two small and withered California rolls. Ten minutes after we ordered our dinner the waitress came back with the bowl of Miso soup for my girlfriend. She immediately told me that it tasted bland and asked me to try it. Not only was it lacking that umami taste that you come to expect with a good bowl of Miso soup, but it was lukewarm at best. Tricia ate another disappointing spoonful and left the rest. After a half hour wait her dinner came out first. I turned around to see if mine was close behind, but there was no sign of it. I figured it would just be a few minutes, which I could understand. There were more diners filing in and the place was starting to fill up. After a few more minutes of waiting I encouraged Tricia to start eating so her dinner wouldn't get cold. Meanwhile, I kept looking over my shoulder in anticipation of my dinner arriving. It didn't come for another twenty minutes or so!! I hate that. A dinner party should all be served within minutes of each other. Nonetheless, I was happy that it finally came. That is, until I looked at it. Nothing looked fresh. In act every piece of seafood looked dry and somewhat dark, like it had been sitting out for hours, or was left in a refrigerator for a day or two. It didn't taste any better, either. The mackerel had its skin left on one side of it and tasted extremely fishy. The shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. The rice under each piece of seafood was similarly dried up and tasted pasty as well. Against my better judgement I ate everything anyway due to it being late and I was very hungry. Bad mistake. I literally left out of there (ninety minutes after we arrived) wondering if I was going to be sick to my stomach later on. Fortunately, all I got was a rumbling belly and some indigestion which was resolved with four Tums. Never again! Mr Wat should be renamed Mr WaTF.

My boyfriend and I had a nice time at Mr. Wat. The environment is cozy, the service was prompt and friendly. The sushi and seaweed salad were fresh and tasty. The price is very good for sushi. I would skip the miso soup next time, but otherwise no complaints!
