Astoundingly good baked goods and bread. The scones are some of the best ive ever had anywhere. Friendly staff too.

I wish there were a bakery this good where I live. We were here twice during a stay in the Rockland area. There is a large variety of artisan breads baked fresh daily. Some kinds are available every day. Others are specialty breads made only once or twice a week. We took a pumpernickel loaf back to our cottage. It had the slight sweetness and depth of flavor that good dark bread should have. The bakery also has large selection of sweet and savory pastries, foccaccia, muffins, pizza, etc. I enjoyed a scrumptious cheese scone with a cup of freshly brewed coffee on our first visit and a well-made breakfast sandwich the second time. Customer service depends on the staff person. On our first visit, we were served by a friendly woman who told us all about the individual breads and how we could call ahead to have the bakery save a particular kind for us, if we needed another bread later in the week. On our second visit, we got quite the opposite--a man who was cold, said nary a word to us and seemed impatient when we couldn't immediately make up our minds about what to order. A previous reviewer remarked about the difficulty of finding on-street parking. There is a large public lot accessible from the street that runs along the side of the bakery.

Good, simple 3-star breakfast place. Good coffee and lattes. Good/very good pastries. Nice staff. Everything adequate...nothing exceptional.

The bakery did a fabulous job of making whoopie pies, blueberry pies, and a lemon buttercream frosting wedding cake for our wedding. They event did a gluten free pie for some of our guests. Our guests raved about the desserts for days afterwards and the wedding cake was THE most amazing thing all of us have tasted. The bakery manager was also amazing to work with as we coordinated details for the wedding - really prompt in responding to our questions. We will use them again if we plan an event in Maine.

This mom & pop bakery is located on Main Street, set in between several art galleries and directly across the street from the Farnsworth Art Museum. Although they appear serious about their breads (check out their impressive website) they also sell a good mix of other goods such as cupcakes, croissants, cookies, muffins, and sandwiches. Unfortunately when I visited the girl behind the counter said they sold a lot of items earlier in the day so the glass counter looked a little sparse. I'm OK with that because I prefer bakeries sell off everything at the day's end rather than keep things around for days. It guarantees freshness. Inside there is plenty of seating, restrooms are clean, and some good old fashioned people watching can be performed if you pick the right spot near a window.

Wow, what a find in this little town! Had a chai tea latte, a mocha, a bacon cheddar scallion scone and a raspberry crisp bar, plus we bought a loaf of sourdough bread. Everything was freshly made, excellent, and the inside was a very inviting place to hang for awhile. Definitely a place we'd return to if we were locals, but alas, we're just passing through.

Stopped in for a light lunch while in Rockland - great soups, I had the jalapeño corn chowder. The chowder was made with fresh corn, and was incredibly substantial. Good fresh brewed iced tea as well - friendly staff, and you can donate part of your check to an initiative they have that allows the less fortunate to stop in for a meal without being humiliated. Their baked goods and breads look great as well, though I didn't have a chance to try them. Two thumbs up!

The food is always delicious here and rarely do I feel guilty eating it. Their salads are even more affordable and just as delicious as their sandwiches, which are Made on delicious bakery bread from the bakery. I like the salads because you can choose little cups of dressing and croutons (also homemade!). And the pizza is always a great choice as well! Sometimes it can be slightly soggy but I'd still eat it anytime! And of course the baked goods are good, especially the chocolate dipped macaroons :)

stopped mid to late afternoon on a Wednesday in August and found they were sold out of lots of goodies; however we found the last of the cheese and veg scones were terrific and the last coconut brownie was excellent with (fresh) hot coffees. Definitely would go back again!

We stopped here for an afternoon pick me up in Rockland and I'm glad we did! They offered many types of coffees and desserts, as well as many breads. It smells delish! I would recommend the chocolate coconut macaroons and chocolate chunk cookie! YUM, goes perfect with a coffee.

Best chocolate chunk cookies I've ever had. Classic Baguette was also very good!!!

The baked goods were great. I especially liked how in there refrigerated section, you could buy small servings of fancy meats (prosciutto, etc) and cheese, so that you could buy a loaf of bread and essentially have a picnic, either at the restaurant or wherever else.

The products are 5 stars, the service is 2 stars, so there you have...a four star review. The shop is really open and clean. The products are nicely displayed. The windows into the baking area are a nice touch. The coffee bar could be set up better, with more organization, and not just kind of in the middle of the store. The young staff ladies behind the counter were disinterested to the point that a baker came out and took our order. One of them finally cashed us out, with a snooty attitude. This is Rockland, not Camden, and if you don't want a job, there are plenty of people that will take it, ladies.
