Love... Love... Love SunSun. Best Chinese around. Won ton soup is delicious and the crab rangoons are superb.

I was skeptical that yiu could find decent Chinese in the middle of nowhere Maine but I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing fancy but good basic Chinese with generous serving sizes. The chicken wings were really good!

Sun Sun is my go to for American style Chinese food. The food always tastes fresh and is served piping hot. The portions are beyond generous, I easily get three to four meals off one serving. The atmosphere is clean, the waitstaff are usually attentive and friendly but I have experienced service from waitstaff who were either busy or not committed to customer satisfaction, but that is the exception not the norm. The take out is always super busy but the food is worth it. Drinks are good prices are reasonable. Sun Sun is my neighborhood Chinese joint.

Everyone has raved about this place, so I was really, really disappointed when I finally ate here. The sesame chicken was... just okay. I did like that it stayed crispy in the sauce, but it was nothing spectacular. The crab rangoons were good and the chicken fingers were your standard chicken fingers (they never change, from restaurant to restaurant). My partner got the hot and sour soup which was horrible, slimy grossness. When our waitress came by to check on us, he let her know and she was very accommodating and made a recommendation for the wonton soup which he enjoyed. Let's take a moment to talk about the wait staff. Our waitress, Sienna, was fantastic. As I mentioned, she made an informed recommendation on the soup. She seemed like she genuinely cared about us enjoying our food. However, there were other wait staff just hanging around gossiping and complaining about their earlier customers, which was incredibly unprofessional and annoying. There were about 6 waitresses for no customers, just standing around. One girl decided to vacuum right next to my table (actually bumping the table) for lack of anything productive to do. I guess SunSun is good if it's the only thing nearby, but there are much better Chinese restaurants in the Augusta area.

While visiting family we stopped here for dinner one night. While it was just after 7 p.m. and there were few other customers, I found the service to be slow. Our food was cold and the wait staff was just "average". The pu pu platter was also average. The ribs were the best; terriyaki was fatty, and egg rolls were just ho hum. Positives: we received a lot of food and prices were fair.

Very good for basic Chinese. The best in the area. I travel past several places to go there. No Moo Shi or anything other than very basic but if egg rolls etc are what you want, this is the place..

I wouldve given this place 5 stars if it werent for Lucky Garden one-upping them.... maybe the owners could arrange some sort of duel with swords and see who will reign supreme once and for all? The "fried" items are the ones I love best here. Their rice (for me) is so-so... but good LORD their chicken fingers and crab rangoons are always done to perfection. Service is good and you get HUGE portions for a nice price. I dont like going in there and listening to twangy ear-splitting country music playing, but I suppose it's far more telling of the clientele than the owners. I was always bouncing back n forth between SunSun and Lucky Garden, and even combined the two at times if I was doing take-out. I know many other locals who also do this. :)

This place gets 5 stars because they delivered our food while we were smelting in shanty 24 at Jim Worthing's Smelt Camps. Their food is good old fashion greasy Chinese that hits the spot on a cold night of fishing. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere of the place is very nice. The best thing about this place is the bang for the buck, their POO POO platter is a beast!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
