By far my favorite Starbucks location I've ever been to. I'm actually quite sad that I won't be seeing these guys around much anymore! But seriously: The environment of the mall is never a calm one (unless it's a blizzard... and even THEN it's still pretty nuts), but this team really handles it with grace. There is always a smile on their faces, they'll recommend things that they love, and they're all genuinely great people to chat with and get to know. And then naturally, the customers of the location are what drags the experience down because of the nature of the clientele of a mall. You get literally every age range... from teeny-bopper who wants their vanilla bean frappuccino, to the wonderful (or super grumpy) elderly customers who are just looking for a cup of coffee to get them through their shopping experience... People feed off each others' energy, and it's SO apparent at this coffee shop, because of the close quarters you are confined to while waiting in line. Not to mention: The line? Half the time it's out the door. I firmly believe it's because the staff are so wonderful more than anything else.

The best service, the best location, the best soy latte, the best service (worth mentioning again).

Props to the baristas who work in this teeny tiny Starbucks, located inside of the Maine Mall (near GAP and Forever 21). The mall goers are ruthless, and this place can get overwhelming in seconds. I very rarely receive a poorly made drink from these folks, and the service is great.

A Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks... right? Unless you're located in a studio apartment-sized storefront in the middle of one of THE busiest shopping locations in all of Maine year round. Then your a Starbucks with superpowers. Because what the employees at this Starbucks have to deal with on an hour to hour basis is something only people with unheard amounts of patience could do. Every time I've ever passed by - regardless if it's 9am when the elderly power walkers are cruising around, 3pm when parents with screaming toddlers are racing for that last minute caffeine fix to help their throbbing headaches, or 9pm when the teenyboppers with nowhere else to go are drinking their Frappuccinos talking about all their "problems" and holding fort on one of the lone tables in the "store"... the folks who work at this Starbucks constantly and consistently handle the intimidatingly long line and severely inappropriate attitudes. As a matter of fact, here's ALL you need to know about this place: POINT ONE: Starbucks employees who work here: you get 4 stars. When I came, the guy behind the counter was very pleasant. Despite there being a huge line ahead and behind me, he took the time out to a) suggest an overly caffeinated drink (because my brain had turned to sludge from fatigue and he could see that), b) spell my name right on the cup (a HUGE deal for those of us with different names), and c) let me know the balance of Starbucks Gold Card. POINT TWO: Starbucks customers who order their drinks here: you get 1 star. Everybody who goes here for a coffee needs to SLOOOOWWWWW DOWN, take a deep breath, and realize the world doesn't revolve around you. I honestly think the tipping point at this location from sanity to chaos comes down to the customers themselves. Other people in line to start getting antsy when other people in line start getting antsy... does that make sense? Because this is such an intimate location, it's easy to feed off one another. The folks who work here are doing the best they can given their constant state of business. So let's all remember we're here SPENDING OUR MONEY (on overly priced coffee none the less), not hard at work making it, yeah?

Stopped in this morning on my way back to CT. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was open...yelp had it not opening until 8 am. I asked at the location and they open at 5:30 am daily. I was very happy there was a drive thru - I was looked to get on the road early and didn't want to lose time going in somewhere for a coffee. I'm an espresso drinker . . . no lattes or anything like that. Excellent espresso. Sometimes it's made too soon, especially I a drive they situation, and it's bitter as soon as you get it. Layla was working the drive thru this morning and they are lucky to have her . . . a great, clear voice for those drive thru speakers and upbeat and pleasant at 7 am.

This sure is a little Starbucks, often with a line out the door a bit, but I'll give credit where it's due to the employees there. The few times I've been in the service has been prompt and friendly. As the other review (at the time of this posting) mentions, the biggest negative of this location can be the customers. Often young, ruthless young people disregarding the line or being a little rude. So again, props to the baristas. Keep up the great work.

This is a little itty bitty Starbucks right inside the Maine Mall. I worked here for around 6 months so I know first hand what kind of chaos can take place here... the employees deserve a freaking medal, that's for sure. Every time I've been in here it's been busy, but the line always moves quickly. The employees are super friendly, and the drinks are always A+!
