Kind of a funny story... Hubby and I got a free stay at HoJos for the evening. By the time we finally got to the hotel, we were starving and opted to go with the restaurant attached. It was Sunday, very quiet but we went in and sat at the bar. Much to our surprise the food and drinks were great!. He had twin lobsters and I had the chicken parm. Both were excellent and the bartender, i forget her name, (cuz I suck) was super nice. We liked it so much we went back to the restaurant side for breakfast the next morning. Again, the food was fantastic! I tried the hubby's B'fast burrito (on special) and was really wishing I got that instead, but my over easy eggs were good too. The service was a bit slow, I think the waiter was a little swamped (on a Monday morning lol) But, overall even though we probably won't be staying at the good ol hojos again, Seasons is definitely worth a try!

Not getting one star because of the food (which wasn't good, but what do you want from a HoJo?), but because they waitress charged my CC a bigger tip than I had left her.

One of the worst meals I've had in a long time, although in retrospect, what was I expecting for a place attached to a HoJo's? We were in a party of four on a weeknight. The restaurant portion was completely empty so we opted to sit in the bar instead. The service was horrible - we went a half hour at a time without seeing the waitress even though it was practically deserted, and were there for over two and half hours by the time we paid the check. The menu is a hodgepodge of random bar food mixed with some "fancier" dishes. The fried green beans were soggy and the flatbread pizzas had a weird aftertaste. The sandwiches and fries were mediocre at best and two of the four people at our table had to get up and go to the bathroom in the middle of eating (I'll leave the rest up to your imagination). The menu is cheap and the portions are large, but with this place you get what you pay for.

Disclaimer--I wouldn't be caught dead in this place if my boyfriends friends didn't like Saturday night karoake. That being said, it's a bar attached to a hotel across the street from a strip club. You weren't expecting great things in that scenario, right? Well, your low expectations will be met here and more. The waitresses are beyond dumb, I asked for a whiskey ginger and somehow ended up with a glass of zinfandel wine. Um? There's always some sort of weird smell that can be attributed to one of the fine patrons of this establishment, but if you're lucky you only smell it when they pass you to go up and sing. The dj who does the karoake goes out to smoke in between every single song, so it's not a steady stream of amateur singing, which I guess is a perk. But honestly, it's not that bad, it's a fun place to go and people watch, and as long as the people I'm with are enjoying it I guess I'll be back.

This place was nice because we were staying at the Ho's Jo's attached to it. Sketical at first but upon arriving the atmosphere was a nice pick between sitting in the classic diner or the bar area with tv's. We picked the bar. The service was great even though the bar was hopping and their were a lot of people dining around us. The food was just one word. Fantastic! I ordered the linguini with scallops, shrimp and mussels and expected 85% noodles but got the opposite. There was so much seafood on the plate that I think I stuffed myself on the amazing portion of scallops.

I love this bar. It's a nice relief from the hipster scene in portland. Filled with locals and some out-of-towners staying at the hotel. The second you walk in, weather your a familiar face or a first timer, the regulars greet you with great conversation and make you feel like coming back again and again for the chit chat alone. The bartenders pour a great drink and they have low prices to boot. You won't find any 10 dollar mixed drinks here! They have daily drink and food specials which you have got to try! Their food is always good and fresh which yes I was surprised with having the stigma of a hotel bar. Try their burgers or their super fresh fish and chips. Mmmmmm the haddock is amazing fresh fish with a crunchy yuengling batter! Anyway come check it out and you might become a regular too

We stayed at the HoJo with plans to 'do' Downtown Portland, tour the bars and take in some gourmet dining. Let's start with a beer in the restaurant attached to the hotel (you know what they are usually like...) well, it was 25 cent wing night, and $2.25 drink night, and the Mixologist (no you can't call her just a bartender, she designs signature martinis and makes her own fruit-infused liqueurs!) Sami was so friendly and knowledgeable about every local beer, so we had to try some of her drinks. The wings were also not typical foodservice variety - Strawberry Chipotle? Chatted with some other visitors...tried the Maple Manhattan.....Can you guess we ended up stumbling back to our rooms, quite satisfied to leave Portland for another day. They have entertainment on the weekends-check it out!

I feel like with some rebranding and updates to the establishments decor, this could truly be a top restaurant in it's class in Portland. The logo almost made me skip over it. Keep in mind, I am staying in the hotel it's attached to. I almost overlooked the convenience in location due to the dated signage, because I felt it may be a reflection on the establishment. It was not :) Brianna served me and was your typical...A++++ waitress! She was friendly, inviting, and you can tell she is a genuine, kind individual. She was attentive from the moment I walked in and from the moment I left. The food was superb. Truly home-cooked, made to order dishes which is important to me. I ordered a $5 happy hour flatbread and it was browned to perfection and filling ( I took half of it back to my room). And only $5?! All in all, I will be back. I have already visited 3 times during my stay. I think with rebranding, a slight facelift, and a social media marketing presence, it will breathe fresh air into the place, drive new business and therefore uplift employee morale.

Night time Bartender Bree is fantastic. .. bar is a little old but good service makes up for it.

This is a hotel bar attached to a B-level Ramada, so expectations were low going in, but this place still found a way to fall short. The service at this place is laughably bad. The bartenders lack the ability to perform even the most base-level requirements of their profession - like working the register and figuring out who to serve next. Even though there were only a handful of patrons waiting for drinks, and even though they were serving only beer, shots and 2 ingredient mixed drinks, they fumbled around the bar with deer-in-the-headlights efficiency. No exaggeration, we waited at the bar for over 20 minutes for a rum and coke that was weak and over iced.

I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. We grabbed a drink and my draft was close to $6 which seems way to high for a short draft. The bartender was nice and she did make a decent margarita for $4. The food didn't look all that appealing and the prices seemed like they make money off of those stuck at the hotel.

Another sad experience. Menu sounded great, but the food was lacking. My partner's pork chops were over salted, my risotto was mushy and inedible, and I'm not sure what they had done to the rack of lamb. Unusual marinade, to say the least. The manager made some adjustments to the bill, but frankly there should have been no charge. (I had tried to eat the lamb, so we had to pay for that!) Not recommended.

Yes, you know this isn't going to be a great place for a 'special' meal when it's attached to an old, outdated motel. We happened in, being exhausted from our 6 hour drive to Portland and didn't have the energy to drive elsewhere. As a few reviews on other sites say, this is a drab, sad place, haunted by the ghosts of old waitresses and motorcycle gangs past. The type of place pole dancers go to die. Not only is the food awful, bland and flavorless, but the space has absolutely no ambience to speak of. The servers are childish and slow... VERY SLOW. The lighting is dim, due to all the burned out bulbs. A large empty dining room, occupied solely by the hapless and/or exhausted souls unlucky enough to have picked the adjoining hotel as their accommodations off that budget travel site, (should have realized there was a problem with all the canned photos we just knew weren't taken of the place within the last two decades..) A mere thought of the heavily shalacked wood furniture, vinyl cushioning, dusty brass accents and earth-tone everything sends death chills through my still-churning gastrointestinal system. If you're lucky, the waitress will be perky, if not attentive and/or professional. Your best option here, if you've already ordered, is to sit quietly, eat whatever recently frozen, institutional-food-supplier provided, chemical preserved mess they've put in front of you, pay and fade away... Actually, scratch that. Your best option is not going in the first place.

We had a gift card for this restaurant and finally checked it out. An older restaurant that outside looks like an old Holiday Inn (with the old metallic, orange roof painted earthy green). Inside dark wood and 60-70's style, carpets and decor. A slight smell like old places often do, or perhaps it is just the decor. The menu is a pleasant surprise, with seasonal entries in addition to their usual menu. Varied activities Friday through Sunday from NFL football and games, to live music and a karaoke night. A pub/bar room with a fireplace and old hearth. A connected dining room with old but solid wood tables, booths and chairs. We tried the burgers, onion rings and fries. Good quality burgers, fries and rings that were quite reasonably priced and well prepared. We'll have to go back to try some of the seasonal meals (the lazy lobster and seafood pasta dishes sound good to me).

My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday night. The place was empty and we should have taken that as a sign to go somewhere else. The food was bland and flavorless. I got a steak and my boyfriend got a burger. The veggies that came with my steak weren't even cooked all the way. So even though there was only one other table with two or three people seated at it, the service was awful too. The waitress was nice enough but she was never around. Refilled our drinks once when the food got there and that was it. Took our order and only came back to bring it to the table. We actually had to flag her down to get the check. I don't know what she could have been doing that kept her so busy? We won't be back again. Very disappointing.

Wow, this had to be one of the worst meals my wife and I have had in a long time. The waitress was either new or completely clueless. I ordered the chicken fontina with mashed. Got onion rings. She dropped the plate and disappeared so quickly that I did not have time to tell her the order was wrong. And we did not see her again for 15 minutes so I ate it. She was servicing a grand total of 3 tables. The nachos were terrible. Overcooked with so little cheese on the very top that you had to hunt for it. Once you got past the top layer it was just burnt chips. My chicken fontina was 3 very small strips of chicken with a drizzle of cheese and a couple sliced raspberries on it. It was on top of a bed of iceberg lettuce chunks. My wife's scallops were gritty and she did not finish them. Terrible service, terrible food and loud music piped in. Will NEVER go back.
