I was barked at for calling in an order for nearly $20 because it didn't meet their $25 order minimum.. And I'm just off downtown on Munjoy Hill. I asked if they couldn't just bring it this time and the guy's reply was "Sorry bud"... Well, sorry Pom's Thai Taste; with all the restaurants and truly great Thai food in town, we'll never walk through your doors again. :(

Brilliant noodle dishes! Fresh, spicy, authentic. I always get the 'design your own noodle dish' with beef. The ginger ground chicken salad is fantastic, although my SO could only share so much.

The waiter is very rude when I am confused about the menu, when I am asking him how to choose broth, he is very impatient and seems to say are you kidding me you do not know that? He never check on us during the meal or add water. Not recommend this restaurant. (Eat in 8/9/2015)

This restaurant has a nice dining room with really comfy chairs. I could probably sit there for hours and enjoy their food and some drinks. I had the three course meal that was only $17.95. It was absolutely worth the price and has great value. You got to pick a half portion of their appetizers, a full dinner entree and an ice cream. You had to pay more for seafood or duck but I stuck with chicken. My appetizer was a fresh spring roll with a dipping sauce and it was absolutely delicious. It tasted so fresh and the dipping sauce which was a sweeter sauce went great with it. My dinner was the crispy cashew chicken. It was the best cashew chicken I've ever had. Every piece of chicken was coated with a light layer of what I think was corn starch and was nice and crispy on the outside. The sauce on it was amazing and they gave you a very nice portion. The third course was a scoop of ice cream. I had the coconut ice cream and it was great! The cherry on top tasted a little off though. So this place had a great dinning room, amazing food, and good value. The negative was the service and ambiance. When we walked in the guy behind the counter seemed a little rude and not too welcoming. He wasn't very rude too us but we did not feel welcome like you do in most restaurants. The young woman working there seemed like an absolute sweetheart but at one point she seemed very upset and was yelling in another language in the dining room. It seemed like she was upset from a small tip. My other issue from the service was the water. They were not good at refilling my water and it was not busy at all in the restaurant. We were one of three tables and only one takeout order was called in and picked up while we were there. Also the water pitchers they use all had lemon in it and there was no option of no lemon. I'll absolutely be back because they have a large menu and now I want to try everything. This place just needs to learn that diners now look at everything in a restaurant and want the whole experience which includes food, service, value and ambiance. They are lacking in the service while all the other Thai restaurants in Portland have great service which may lose them customers.

Great food that is always fresh and fast. Big fans of the Kra-tong Thong as an appetizer --be wild try the sweet nectar of the cucumber sauce served with it. The Paad See-Ew with chicken is also one of my go to choices for a main dish. Thick noodles, chicken, veggies and an amazing garlic sauce (don't worry it's not so bad you couldn't make out with someone kind of garlic). Only reason it's not a 5 star is because they're not always attentive, especially with filling water/drinks. Besides that they're amazing.

I absolutely love the make-your-own-noodle-bowl option here, it's by far my favorite thing on the menu for both their Portland and South Portland locations. You can choose any noodle, broth, protein, and spice level you want, it comes with crisp veggies, and it's quite the hefty amount of food. I've had other meals at both locations before and their veggie pad thai is good, but this is my go-to. The reason I can't give them more stars is for a couple reasons. We live right downtown so we frequently order to-go from the one on Congress Street, sometimes I have to call six times, no joke, six times before someone answers the phone! It makes you think they're closed when in fact they're just not answering the phone. Another note is how long it takes for them to cook your meal. It's not that it takes a long time, it's actually the opposite. Our meals are literally ready within five minutes. It makes me nervous thinking how their kitchen is set up and if everything is pre-cooked and they just nuke it before sending it out. What's a telltale sign of microwaving something? We've ordered chicken a few times and it's come out with molten hot centers and cold exteriors. I say opt for something that can't easily be made beforehand or is OK to cook in batches like soups, otherwise their kitchen practices make me a little suspicious.

This place is the best Thai restaurant i've been at on the east coast. I will recommend & come back to when i'm in town again.

I was excited about eating here based on the reviews. It was about 3PM and they didn't have a lunch menu. I ordered the Fresh rolls and Green Papaya salad. The fresh rolls were OK - not at all great. I ordered the salad at a medium heat and it was so hot I couldn't eat it. I like spicy food. When I mentioned it to the server - who was probably the owner, he didn't offer any compensation. I left most of my meal.

Service was quick and our server was pleasant. Decor was aesthetically pleasing. However, the pad thai I ordered was the blandest I've eaten.

My dad had gotten a Groupon for this location as a birthday gift for my husband. (His birthday is late June and our visit this year was early July), so we went on our second day in town, for lunch. We had a huge menu to wade through! Every variation you can think of, they probably have. The place itself is on Congress a block down from Paul's and on that same side of the street, so be aware of parking as an issue you may face. It's a not small, but not huge floor space. Very clean and simple decor. The waitress was very polite as well. We were able to use the Groupon without issue. We started by sharing the appetizer sampler for one. Talk about a misnomer! This plate has enough to easily be a meal unto itself! We did split it easily tho. My Thais iced coffee seemed "run of the mill", but I assume that's because there is only one right way to make it and that's how I've always had it. I got the create your own stir-fry. There is a large selection of meats, veg, seafood, and tofu to create this from. I got beef, peppers, onions, sprouts, and baby corn. There is also a choice of rice and sauce to use when making it. This was another huge portion and much of it came home that day. (My dad gets well fed on free leftovers when we visit.) My husband's Pom Thai Fish was good, I'm told. He did manage to finish almost all of his tho.

If I didn't live so close to this place I'd probably have to cook a lot more. We get takeout pretty frequently because the food is good and a lot of it is gluten free or can be made gluten free by request. I always get green curry or drunken noodles and my boyfriend gets pad Thai or drunken noodles. The shrimp they use is really good and they are generous with chicken and veggies. We've been there often enough that the manager and one of the lunch staff members recognize us and they are always so nice to us, which makes picking up the takeout a pleasant errand rather than a chore!

Bet good food. Reasonable prices. HOWEVER, walked in at 230pm was very rudely told they aren't serving lunch only dinner menu.

I sampled a friend's leftover Pad-Thai from here one time so when my boyfriend and I were craving some Thai food the other night, I suggested Pom's. The atmosphere is nice and I don't absolutely hate the easy listening singer/songwriter music they have playing here (although it's no Mi Sen 90's R&B I will say that). The menu is quite large and, even though I knew I wanted the Pad Thai, I spent way too long flipping through the menu to see what else we could get. I believe someone left this tip and I will second it - the crab rangoons are nothing to write home about. They weren't bad by any means, just not anything I would order again. I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and I will say they do have some amazing Pad Thai. It's probably my second favorite after Vientiane. My boyfriend ordered a special, the short rib soup in a dark broth with veggies, medium noodles (actually it was unclear what medium was going to be but I guess we should have asked) and green onions. We split both and he actually liked the soup more and I liked the Pad Thai more so it ended up working out. The portions were definitely hefty and prices around $11-$13 per dish. I would definitely go back for the Pad Thai but the soup was lacking flavor. It needed a sort of kick or another spice in the broth, otherwise it was extremely one note. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I will reiterate what someone else said on here, this seems like a good first date spot (given your date enjoys Thai food!).

Good value for money. Fresh ingredients and ample portions. But don't come here to relax. The food came quickly; too quickly. I had barely had my starter and soup when the entre arrived. Plates were flying around. The white hair dude that seated didn't make us feel welcome. Not very warm guy. The check showed up 30 seconds after our waitress cleared the last plate I kid you not.

Do yourself a favor and order the volcanic eruption. The sauce is perfection and the serving size was generous. Friends had the crispy duck, pad Thai, and a missana curry and they were quite delicious as well.

I had a spicy noodle dish with chicken when I visited, as well as some sushi, and both were fantastic! The noodle dish was HUGE -- I had tons of left overs -- and it was deliciously spiced. Love!

While on vacation in Portland, I relied on yelp to decide where to satisfy my hankering for Thai food, and I am so glad I went here!! My boyfriend and I went for lunch on a Friday and it was clean, modern, and delightful atmosphere. The service was great and super friendly. They played some current music, (Colbie Callait, Sara Barellis, etc) and some traditional music. Both were sweet to listen to. We started with fried pork dumplings which were perfectly fried and super tasty. The ginger dipping sauce was addictive. They also brought out these small little side salads whose ingredients were SO fresh and the dressing (which Id say was a Thai version of thousand island) was so delicious. A great palate cleanser to have with our dumplings. And let me reiterate- SMALL side salad. But it was perfect for us, especially when complimentary. (See photo) My boyfriend got the panaeng chicken curry for his meal, and I got spicy vegetable pad Thai. Both were absolutely phenomenal. The chicken wasn't over cooked to rubber as it usually is at Thai restaurants. My pad Thai was perfect in all aspects of spice and viscosity and freshness. Presentation is beautiful also, which is always fun:) A freakin awesome lunch in a cool city for $25 bucks? Hell yeah. Thanks so much for a great experience I can't wait to come back!

I can't believe I just paid 14$ for this! I'm happy to pay 14$ at pai men, boda, and mi sen because the quality matches their prices. It doesn't even come close here. I used to be a regular but this price hike is ridiculous especially since the guy at the counter is always incredibly condescending. Thanks but no thanks.

My favorite Thai place in the Portland area. I usually get either Tofu Pad Thai or Tofu Drunken Noodles. Also, I support you ordering the fried spring rolls as an appetizer.

#32 Crispy duck is cooked perfectly. Medium spice Thai chili sauce with fresh basil. #49 Three flavor seafood was amazing as well, with the perfect light amount of breading, fresh haddock, scallops, shrimp and squid. Thai tea is a nice mellow complement to the flavor-packed food. Food is cheap here... about $10 per each lunch entree.

Very friendly staff. Never had a complaint here i come to new england a lot and i look forward to come back. Food is excellent i love the pad see ew and the crab rangooons.. Mmmmm i'm craving food from here right now lol the owner Pom is super friendly. She makes sure your visit is enjoyable. Heres my recommendation, hate airport food? This restaurant is less than 10 minutes from the jetport so its such a convenience if you have a afternoon flight.

I have only had one thing at Pom's Thai the three times I've been, and that's the "Kuay-Teow" or the Build Your Own Noodle Bowl. My combo: Medium noodles, crispy duck, and five spice broth with mild heat. AND OH MY GOSH it's so so good. I am perfectly fine with this being the only thing I ever try from them. I would never waste a perfectly good trip to Thai Taste by NOT getting it.

My wife and i always order the avacado wraps appetizer! I alaways get the crispy duck soup in five spice broth, vermicelli noodles, with medium heat and crushed peanuts! AaaaaaaMAzing!

While visiting Portland with my boyfriend last weekend, we stopped into this restaurant as a last resort because the other places we wanted to go to were closed. I should have known right away things were going to be bad. Their vegetarian menu is incredibly confusing. When I finally figured it out, I ordered the vegetarian sweet and sour with soy nuggets. When my meal came, there were no nuggets. The owner stated "oh, she must have forgotten to write that down!" and took my plate away to remake the dish. By the time it came back, my boyfriend had almost finished his meal. The waitress didn't stop by the table at all to check on us. When my meal finally came back, the owner kept bragging about how good their sweet and sour sauce was! How different it was than Chinese restaurants! Then she told me it was made with ketchup... and I could tell. It was gross. To top it all off, there was a gnat in my boyfriend's pad thai. Overpriced, incredibly mediocre Thai food with horrible service. No thank you. EDIT: 7/8/14 Upon reading this negative review, the owner contacted me and attempted to fix the situation by asking for my address and offering to send me a check for $50. Apparently her knack for making people uncomfortable extends passed in-person interactions and onto the internet. There are plenty of other restaurants to visit in Portland.

One of the better Thai places I've been to. The staff were really great, the food was tasty and the restaurant was very clean. It's right down the street from my new job so I will be going back a lot!

Excellent Thai food. Green papaya salad: includes lettuce and tomato, and has a spicy kick! Came with a little bag of sticky rice which was kind of random - the rice was a little hard too, so I'm not sure why it's part of it, but the salad is great. Tofu noodles: Just really can't go wrong with noodles and peanut sauce. Yellow chicken curry: standard, but excellent. Not a lot of rice comes with it, so you will probably have a lot of sauce leftover unless you order extra rice. No problems with the Groupon. Had a great meal with these guys.

I went here for lunch on a whim with a friend. I always get Pad Thai when I done at Thai restaurants. So, I forced myself to get something else. I ordered the mango curry which was delicious! I know it sounds odd, but the mango mixed with the savory curry was a great combination. I really enjoyed it with brown rice. They serve a side salad before the main course (I'm not sure if this is part of lunch special or something). The salad wasn't great. But the scallion pancake on top of the salad was a nice addition. The service was fine too, but nothing too special. I would definitely go back to get the mango curry again!

This restaurant literally needs to receive 0 STARS. I was visiting Portland months ago with my family when we were leaving for another destination during lunchtime, and decided to try Pom's Thai out after seeing the favorable reviews online. I had had a great time around Portland and everyone was friendly around the city, but it all ended on a sour note with a visit to this particular restaurant. After walking in, the young Thai lady that was supposed to welcome people was already unimpressed along with our Thai waiter with a sassy attitude. I assume it was because I clearly look Asian (but obviously not Thai). The racism only starts there. It was a quiet weekday afternoon, and the guests were only us (three people) and what looked like some White businesspeople from across the street near the windows. Throughout their meals, the young lady would always check on into them and be extremely nice, while she'd never check on us and just stare and smirk like we were trash. Both the waiter and lady treated us like they didn't have a care for our money. Then, as usual waiters do, he took our order (with attitude however) and walked into the kitchen and probably back-talked about us in Thai, because soon we could hear the kitchen staff laughing obnoxiously and talking about things that sounded like they were talking about how they'd never seen an Asian person step into their Asian restaurant. Even though being in ME where the population is 96% White, there is absolutely no excuse for someone to be completely racist; especially being racist to their own kind of race. To every other business I went to, all were so nice and friendly and I was just another person. Conclusion: The food was OK, but the service was the worst I have ever experienced at any restaurant. Service was NOT professional. Pom, wait until another Asian restaurant opens up and closes this business. Don't waste your money here for third-rate service.

My friend and I both went for dinner and got the dinner special for ~$18. I can't say I was very happy with my choices. I got the half portion of the chicken dumpling (somthing? butterfly), spicy drunken noodles, and green tea ice cream. The chicken dumplings were too sweet. The plating was cute with a tablespoon filled with soy sauce and four pieces of dumpling, but it tasted as if they were filled with ground chicken and sugar liberally sprinkled on top and then wrapped in the dumpling wrapper. The drunken noodle had two chili peppers next to it on the menu. I also specified that I wanted spicy drunken noodle. The heat must have been blown away by the winter cold, because I was definitely not blown away. The broccoli, onions, and bell peppers were in good proportion to the noodles though. It was ok but overall sweet when what I really wanted was heat. I think what really turned it for me was dessert. The green tea ice cream came out about an ice cream scoopful in a tiny dish and topped with a maraschino cherry. It didn't look very green, but the texture was just off. It had an odd mouthfeel. Kind of waxy. I've had much better green tea ice cream from the grocery store so it was a disappointing way to end the night.

Food was very good my boyfriend and I love the singapore and pan woon sen noodles. The first time we came to this restaurant it was a rainy sunday afternoon and only the older server was working, the services was ok food was delicious and fast. Yesterday (saturday night) we decided to go have some noodles around 6pm we went into the restaurant and it was very empty only two other tables had costumers. Since the very beginning we notice an attitude from our female asian server. She was asking us if we were ready to order at the same time that she was talking to the other servers in a different language and laughing. We decided we wanted to try a soup and when We usually try new things we order one and share it and if is absolutely delicious we order a second one. Well her face was rude when we said we only wanted one soup to try it. She rolled her eyes at us and immediately said something to the male server and laugh. We order our noodles and i asked if she could please make mind with a little more sauce she did not like that either and said the way they are originally is not with that much sauce i said I knew that I just wanted the Singapore noodles less dry, she agree to put the sauce but she wasn't happy. When the soup arrived we notice she did not bring us a extra spoon so we ask her for one. By this time the restaurant was getting fuller, she brought the spoon and didn't stop to give it to us she kept walking and i had to reach for it as she walk by really fast and again she communicated with a co-worker in their language. Then after we were done we were still finishing our wine and talking when they brought our bill, and not 5 min had past when they return to get the final sum. My boyfriend and I were so annoyed by then he move the bill closer to him and told the male server we are not done we are finishing our wine. Overall very rude, unprofessional service, we felt uncomfortable and that we were being rush out the door. I don't think we are ever going back there and if we absolutely want some of this food we will probably order takeout.

Probably the best pad thai I have had in all my years. I ordered the crab meat pad thai and there was a copious amount of real crab meat mixed into the most flavorful noodles. Even the leftovers were amazing the day after. Sister had Thai chicken noodle soup to start, we shared a chicken satay, and she ordered chicken katsu for her main. She enjoyed it all, by her report. The Thai iced tea was perfect and presented nicely with the straw wrapper shaped into a rose. It's the little things... Great vibe. Hip décor. Attentive + pleasant staff. Reasonable prices. Clean. I would definitely come here again.

Among the dozen plus Thai places to try in Portland, my friends and I decided to try this cute little restaurant. Cute name, cute atmosphere (perfect for a date!), and a HUGE menu full of options. I split the green curry with fried tofu and the pineapple fried rice. The fried rice was the winner! Perfect moistness with pineapple chunks, cashews, and delicious raisins. The curry was good too, but the serving of rice was pretty small and it was super liquidy. The mango sticky rice comes with a yummy black rice, but the serving was tiny! I might return after trying some other options. :)

I am ALWAYS, without fail, overwhelmed by the menu here. They hand you one huge menu, and then there's another supplemental noodle menu(?!) full of several additional options, including "create your own" noodle dishes. I love the options, although it is a bit overwhelming. In my experience, portions range from what I would consider "normal"-sized to large, and I often have leftovers to take home. Lunch is a great time to go, since prices are cheaper and you get roughly the same amount of food. The staff has always been friendly, helpful with answering questions, and there is a HUGE vegetarian selection, with all the non-meaty options clearly marked. Everything I've ever gotten here has been tasty, but despite the massive menu they don't get too creative with their offerings. Go here if you're looking for traditional, good-quality Thai food.

My wife and I thought we'd stay in and have a healthy, inspiring Portland meal. We struck out. No love here. Inedible larb salad. Tasteless spring rolls and thai noodle soup. Plowed through the drunken noodles to stay alive. These guys are phoning it in, resting on their great location to stay in biz. Go somewhere else if you care.

Ordered takeout a few days ago. Crab pad thai with a spice level of 1, Chicken and shrimp pad thai with a spice level of 3, and dancing shrimp. The crab was completely shredded into the pad thai, which made it hard to taste and not worth the extra few dollars. It was also way too spicy for me to eat. Not a level 1 as I have had there before. Bf said his was not spicy enough and he has ordered from there many times. Shrimp was just ok UPDATE---The owner did reply to my review with an offer of a gift card and was apologetic. Good management is important so we will come again

REPOST OF MY REVIEW OF THEIR SOUTH PORTLAND RESTAURANT **** This is the third in my list of Portland area Thai restaurant reviews. And my favorite... I had coconut soup (vegetable with no mushrooms, no tofu), Drunken Noodle, Papaya salad (yes the only one of the three to offer this amazing dish). The drunken noodles were delightful. Delicious. And featured the wide spongy noodles I love (Thai comfort food). I enjoyed the coconut soup, which was creamy and tangy, as it should be. (Sabieng had a bit more pungent broth, so I'd probably rate that higher.) My friend had noodles in peanut sauce. It was a simpler dish, but the peanut sauce was delicious. I truly regret that I didn't have room to try their green curry. But next time I'm up in Portland, I will be returning to Pom's Thai. Maybe try the downtown restauraunt on Congress St.

We arrived before 6PM on a Monday so there were no other diners in the restaurant, but the dining room became fairly busy over the length of our stay. The decor in minimal. We ordered steamed butterflies (chicken dumplings) - their signature appetizer made with ground chicken breast and herbs, roasted peanuts and turnips. The dumplings were generously filled and delicious. Our first entree was chicken with basil leaves that included onions, mushrooms, green and red peppers in a garlic sauce. The second entree was listed as a house specialty - chicken Chiengmai (sliced chicken with string beans, red and green peppers, cashew nuts in a pik pow sauce). Both entrees were pretty good, but a little too similar. We would have done better by ordering a noodle dish or curry as one of entrees. Entrees include a choice of brown or white rice, we chose healthy.

The food is quite good, however the employees are not the friendliest. I've always felt rushed while dining in, but ordering take out can be even more of an unpleasant experience. The person who is at the front desk is normally on their personal cell phone or not friendly in general. Moral of the story... food, good... service, questionable.

I LOVE the noodle bowl ! My favorite is the shrimp with chicken broth. The shrimp are always cooked perfectly and really large. My go to place when I want a big old bowl of comfort food. The staff are always very attentive and fast. The owner makes it a point to stop and say hello. If you want a great lunch at a great price, this is the spot!

They have the best soy nuggets I have ever had. I get the pad thai at least 3 times a month. And have gone to 4 of their locations and am very satisfied at each. The staff is always friendly and prompt. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's one of my go to places.

Was in Portland on business recently and folks I was working with would eat here often, so I tagged along. I've ever really been an adventurous eater, and Thai wasn't something I was familiar with. I surveyed the table as to what they were getting, and one of our party was getting the Singapore Noodles and someone else got some egg fried rice, so I got both and they knocked my socks off. Mind you, this is coming from a perspective of someone who has never really had Thai food. So my 4 might be a Thai afficianado's 2. But I found those two dishes very delicious, and the next few times I went back, it was pretty much my go-to order.

Solid Thai-Asian restaurant with a casual, hip feel and quick service. The BEST thing here are the "make your own" noodle bowls (more like "design your own"). Pick the noodle, the meat, the broth, spiciness level and BANG - you have a great meal. Generous with the noodles - love it!

[4 visits] A solid American Thai restaurant with a comfortable setting and an extensive menu. (perhaps too extensive?) My friends and I were very pleased with the appetizer sampler - Pom's seems to do a great job with anything deep-fried. My crispy pork entree was intensely flavorful and complex! Notes of curry, star anise, and lime showcased the great mix of textures: juicy and crispy pork and perfectly al-dente green beans. Paired with sticky rice (substituted for their normal white rice), it absolutely made my evening! ------ Full Disclosure: After my previous lackluster experience, I was sent a small gift certificate along with a request to return to the restaurant. It appears they made changes; I was pleasantly surprised by how complex and flavorful the food was - it seemed like a new restaurant entirely! I've since returned (on my own dollar) and been very satisfied.

Had a great lunch here on a recent trip to Portland. The menu is extensive and includes plenty of variety for vegetarians and meat eaters. We had the Thai crab cakes as an appetizer which were excellent! And the Pad Thai with tofu did not disappoint. Will be returning for sure!

Some of the best Thai food I've had thus far. My family and I always have dinner here when we visit Maine. All their noodle selections are very tasty, especially the drunken noodles. Their spicy tofu is awesome! The thai flavors taste authentic, unlike the usual flavors I am use to in the Nj- Ny area.

I didn't eat at the restaurant but did takeout. Good portion. A little more flavor would be good. I judge Thai restaurants by the Pad See Ew the same way some judge mexican places by their guacamole. This didn't blow me away but it did satiate my hunger for the night. Also explored the drunken noodles and there was also a bit lacking in taste. I usually hide my leftover Thai food....Let's just say it was easy to forget about this meal. I did like that they used a lot of fresh vegetables in their meals. I would give it 3.5 stars if Yelp had that option.

We were at a loss as to where to eat one evening in Portland. Walking down Congress, we came across Pom's and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Green Curry, which was absolutely delicious. It was nice and spicy and tasted great. My guest ordered the Drunken Noodles, which were also incredible. We had no problem scarfing it all down. We decided to try some desserts out too. I ordered the Coconut Lover's dish, which I had no problem finishing either. My guest ordered the Green Tea Fried Ice Cream. This was the best Fried Ice Cream I've ever had. The service was also super friendly and the prices were very fair! Come to Pom's if you have a chance...

For Saturday lunch, the restaurant was impeccably clean and orderly and the service was excellent. Food came out quickly and was nicely prepared and served, though not huge in quantity. Crispy tofu was perfectly done. The crab Pad Thai pleased my partner very much, but I thought it was a bit lacking in complexity. (Note: First time here so we ordered "medium" spicing.) I was really surprised that with such an extensive - some might say too extensive - menu, they couldn't provide fish cakes without chicken in them. A Thai restaurant without meatless fish cakes? Weird, and the reason for the rating down to 3 stars. I felt this place was more oriented to the touristy trade. Saw a poster that said you can get a 10% discount with your theater ticket, and I believe they comp parking in a nearby garage.

AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! I got the chicken katsu and my boyfriend got a pork dish. both were amazing. My chicken came with the best lomein I've ever had in my life. To start we had the curry puffs which were sooooo good. For dessert we had the fried bananas which were also absolutely delicious. The menu is huge with a ton of interesting sounding dishes. I wish I lived in the area...I would be here every day!

Crispy Pad Thai! Crispy Pad Thai! Crispy Pad Thai!! If this place wasn't so clean, I'd almost feel like I was back in the Chinatown of Philadelphia. They've got the good imported beers - Sapporo and Tsingtao - that I miss so much. Plus, they have a huge menu - sushi, all kinds of curry dishes, pad thai -- did I mention Crispy Pad Thai? And even though the menu is huge, they still retain the quality of smaller production. And, they deliver!! Really, did I mention Crispy Pad Thai?

A solid 3.5 stars, but I'll round it up to 4. Pretty good food, good service, nice place. Just nothing too incredible.

Updated review: I decided to give Pom's a third chance. The first two times I visited the restaurant I had less than stellar encounters with their vegetarian dishes. Specifically, they were really bland...like I had ordered my tofu and brocolli with water sauce. But after walking past the restaurant almost every day on my way to work and thinking about how it can't be that bad I gave it another try and this time I was a lot happier. Their food seems to now be bursting with flavor. My garlic sauce on tofu and brocolli had a kick to it. The staff was awesome and very attentive to any needs me and my family had. Also, my two year old son was in a yelling kind of mood and they were totally cool with him. That's a plus.

I don't usually ever write reviews, but this place was unbelievably good. My mom and I came here for dinner and were blown away by how delicious every thing was. I'm from Chicago, where good food is not hard to find, but this blew Chicago Thai food out of the water. We had the crab rangoons (REAL crab! game changer), the pad see eiw and the pad thai. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. We will surely be back soon!!

The garlic sauce was AMAZING. I've been looking for sauce like this since my favorite place closed in 2005. I got the baby corn with chicken, which comes with this sauce, and it was so good. I'm definitely getting the vegetable dumplings next time too. And the spring rolls were great, but those are kinda hard to screw up. Can't wait to go back this weekend!

I have been to this location a total of 3 times and have enjoyed my meal each time. Each time I have gotten the same entree, paad see-ew with crispy duck. The crispy duck is amazing and the noodles are just as great. I have also tried a couple of appetizers. The crab rangoons are so-so, nothing to write home about. The fresh spring rolls on the other hand, are very good. Each order is two rolls, stuffed with cabbage, shrimp, thin noodles, and mint. I didn't think I would like the mint, but made the dish very refreshing. For a city that has many thai restaurants, this is one the of the best. The service is good, along with the atmosphere. The standout though is certainly the food.

Yelp didn't disappoint. We followed the reviews right to this place for lunch and were thrilled. Great selection, with very fair prices. The preparation was authentic and the food came out almost alarmingly fast. Didn't try the sushi, just stuck with the traditional thai dishes - all excellent.

Found Pom's thanks to Yelp, and it just reminded my why I rely on this site. This was a great meal in the midst of an unfamiliar city, and for a great price! We both had the bento box lunch, which comes with a whole lot of food! I had the Thai chicken wings, with a ginger salad, and red curry with chicken. It was all very delicious, and the portions were substantial. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Their Thai iced tea was particularly sweet, but I have no problem with that. Would definitely get food at Pom's again next time I'm in Portland!

Hands down the best Thai joint in the city. Friendly, attentive service, reasonable prices, and top-notch build-your-own soup (to call it "soup" is really an insult; it's more than enough for a full meal) draw me back every time. For what it's worth, I like the medium noodles with tofu. I can't rave enough about this soup. Perfect for a cold, rainy day.

I have only been here once and only got one thing so i dont have a comprehensive review to give. However i still think this place deserves one star because of just how bad what i got was. I have gotten shrimp tempura rolls in lots of places and this place is by far the WORST place i have gotten it. NO effort put into it.. the shrimp in the middle was small, soggy, no sauces to garnish the outside, etc. JUST PLAIN AWFUL. Furthermore i was getting take out so i paid and went to CVS close by to get something. When i got back about 5 mins later a new guy was there and he gave me my food then started challenging me to pay when i had already paid. EDIT: My original review was ONLY for the sushi and ONLY for take out.The owner of this place contacted with a sincere message, both thanking me for my feedback on the sushi and encouraging me to try their thai which seems to be rated well on here. They clearly care about customer satisfaction and perhaps were not exactly on their "A game" that cold sunday afternoon in december. If given a second chance i would definitely go there for a sit down of thai. :)

Finally, a decent Thai place in Portland. The best part is that they deliver (not sure if they have a range) which is good for those nights that you don't want to go out but you don't want to order greasy pizza. Had the Pad See Ew and Ginger Crispy Duck and it was super good. They got the flavors just right where nothing was too bland, sweet, or salty. Even as leftovers, the duck was still so good. I'm definitely a fan.

The restaurant was clean, and overall the food was good. The biggest problem I had with Pom's Thai Taste was the slow service. I got the impression that the waiter was nodding but not actually comprehending our order. I asked for 'extra-spicy' on my meal, but got the standard sauce instead. Our drinks were completely forgotten about until we got our meal and reminded the waiter that we were sans alcoholic beverages. The sauce on my friend's meal tasted more like ketchup than anything else. Not really a flavor I was expecting. My meal was good (except for the aforementioned mistake in the order). Not a perfect dining experience, but I'd probably give them another shot.

I had never experienced Thai food before visiting this restaurant. This was really fantastic! First, the decor is very nice. It's not tacky at all. There are some classy Thai style decorations around the restaurant on an overall simple interior. The food was marvelous. I had the Ginger Crispy Duck and absolutely loved it. I'd also never had duck before this and it was really a marvelous experience. Another plus is that Pom's serves mead along with their other drink options. I'd never had mead before and was very interested to try it. I got a blueberry mead and enjoyed it very much. I also have to mention that the place is quite handicapped accessible. The door to get in is a little difficult without assistance but I was able to manage it. The bathrooms are very spacious and clean and easy to navigate while in a wheelchair. I think this place would be great to go on a date. It's a little pricey compared to what I'm used to but it's worth it for the excellent quality and generous quantity of the food they serve. I can't wait to go again.

So I gave Pom's a second chance and it was much better the second time. We ordered Beef Basil Leaves, super spicy, Drunken Noodles, super spicy, chicken spring rolls, Tofu Noodles, and steamed butterflies. The highlight of my meal were the Drunken Noodles, which were really nicely flavored and spiced. The highlight of my boyfriend's meal was the Beef Basil Leaves, which he liked cause it was really really spicy just as ordered. I do have to say the management and staff at this place is really concerned with your happiness and they'll do what it takes to get your order right and give you what you want. Based on this new experience, I'll definitely give Pom's another chance.

I have been to all three of their locations, and each one is just as good as the others. I love their tofu dishes and the drunken chicken is my personal fave. Always have great service and they are FAST. Great for take-out too.

Everything I've had here is really tasty and pretty inexpensive. Their lunches are especially cheap for all the food you get. Love their menu in a giant photo album. I recommend the Crispy Pad Thai - tastes like candy, and the Thai iced tea. I prefer the Congress St. location over the SoPo one near the mall, but I hear their other SoPo location on Cottage Rd. is pretty good.

one of the best thai food places i have enjoyed. it made my wife a fan of thai food, because before here, i could never get her to eat thai food.... their noodles dishes are amazing as well as their thai iced tea, which is not too sweet, ah so perfect....

Some of the best Thai we've ever had. That actually made our meal to order. Decor is very classy. Great for a romantic dinner. Super friendly cute waitstaff.

This is a staple of my take-out repertoire. (Dont think I have ever eaten there.) I especially like soy-chicken from the veggie menu and they will substitute it for tofu on their main menu if you ask. I have yet to find a dish done poorly. Not the Thai you get in the bay area, but its tasty and pretty quick and the folks are friendly when you order and pick up. BTW - they have a couple different locations. I have only been to the one in the Arts District.

Great food and a really nice experience all around. I went with a group of eight people for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. I called in advance and they assured me that we could bring our own birthday cake, no problem! They held us a large table on a very busy Friday night (first friday) and we all loved our food, (pad see ew with tofu was super tasty!), and they sent out an dish of ice cream with a candle in it for the birthday boy. Super nice service all around. Restaurant was pretty loud, since it was a busy friday night.

I have been to this place countless times and it has been great every time, I do like spicy and tasty food too so I am not sure what the last reviewer was trying to say. I have had the chicken massaman curry dish a couple of times and it is very good, sometimes not spicy enough but made well with fresh ingredients. The lemongrass soup is GREAT and very tasty! Crab rangoons are also amazing, sushi as well. The only thing I had here that was not so great were the salads, mine was made with ground chicken and it was pretty tasteless, but other than that the service is great...oh yeah and try the mango dessert too, its really good!

I ate there on impulse about 6 weeks ago and I can eaily say it was the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. Boring, bland and expensive. No thanks.

Hurray for Pom's! We were STARVING on a Saturday afternoon... driving through from Bar Harbor to Boston. We were fixated on Thai food... and the only (and we check a few!) Thai restaurant open was Pom's! The food was great and the service was superb and speed. However, the most incredible part was that after paying, we forgot our credit card and our waitress actually ran down the street- 2 blocks!- and returned the card. Really great. Thank you Pom's!
