Wow this place has some stellar pho. Portion is decent and the price is better than all the other places I have been to in the area. Additionally, they even offer a jumbo bowl, which is steps bigger than the traditional large. The shredded pork spring rolls were delicious! As before, a darn good price. I'm definitely going to be giving them my bussiness much more often. NEW FAVORITE VIETNAMESE SPOT!!!! HORRAY... Also, staff was family oriented and friendly.

The five of us had a good meal here, delicious soups and great Spring Rolle to start. Our waitress was super especially because the family hadn't eaten Vietnamese before. Highly recommended.

Finally, I have found the perfect complement to PhoEver Maine on the East side of town. As winter curls around the streets of Casco Bay, opening the door at Huong's brings the warm aromas of long stewed Pho broth and a brightly lit welcome. I go to Huong's for their wide variety of Pho and have been surprised by their special variations such as crab Pho, or their Bun Bo Hue. Portions are generous, and you are really hungry Huong's offers even larger portions for $1-2 more.

You want authentic pho? You want homemade? You want to cure that hangover? Well you came to the right place. It's decor is nothing to talk about but that's not why you go to a Vietnamese spot. You're there for the pho. I've had many bowls of pho from other places but this one has the best flavor. Normally I load mine with schirracha and hosin but not here. Don't really need to the flavors are bold and the little oils floating on top of the broth tells you it's been stewing all day with beef and bones. There's nothing worst than plain broth. You're encouraged to slurp and smack here. Do it! It taste even better that way. The beef salad is another favorite. It's thin slices of beef sweet and sour cooked with lime juice. It's a real treat not for the non adventurous type cause it just looks like raw beef. Give it a shot it puts hair on your chest and face. Be a Man. Another favorite is the crispy prawns. Served whole with the heads and little feet. Crispy, salty and a little spicy. Rip the head off and suck the goodness out of it. Then attack the body just eat it shell and all. You animal, that's right now you feel alive. Now go grab yourself a beer and shotgun that shhhh....it. This place is family run and owned. Support your local pho joint. Recommended to eat in. Best time to go: after a night of binge drinking with friends Recommended dishes: large pho special, fried prawns, beef salad Best pho in greater Portland. Tip: not open on Mondays

Only been once, but as winter descends on Portland I look forward to many more visits. Crispy chicken wings are great! The wontons in the wonton soup are pork & shrimp excellent, as is the balanced, clear broth with fresh, bright greens. Table condiments include sriracha, sambal olek, chili-and-garlic and at least one other option.

Huong's is back from the old days and better than ever. That hole-in-the-wall feel with a table full of condiments, it warms my heart truly. I also appreciate the different type of noodles they use in the various soups. The pork soup with egg noodles is a long time favorite and the shrimp and pork with thick noodles, too. The Forest Ave places are great but Huong's is much more convenient and they change it up enough to re-inspire!

I am Asian and I've been to many if not ALL of the Vietnamese restaurants around the area including Portland..and Huong's s the BEST. One of my pet peeves of going to an Asian restaurant is the owners don't give Asians the same attention as Caucasians. I don't know if its because we are also Asian? but we want the same excellent service & attention when we go out to dine when we don't feel like cooking especially when we know we can cook the same at home. My boyfriend ordered the rice combo plate and I ordered the pho. The food was great but most importantly quality and service. The owner's daughter was the sole server and there were about 5 tables in the mid afternoon this past Sunday. She was fast and on top of things. she was polite and courteous and always had a smile. I couldn't have been happier.

My foodie-est friend has been to most of the Vietnamese restaurants in the area and said Huong's is the best. I hadn't been to any Vietnamese restaurants in the area, and I trust her judgement, so we went to Huong's for pho a few nights ago. My big bowl of chicken pho (pho ga) was only $7.95. It was topped with cilantro and scallions, and served with a plate of bean sprouts, lime wedges, jalapeño pepper slices, long leaves of culantro (similar to but not the same as cilantro), and Thai basil. The broth was flavorful and the chicken and noodles were tender and plentiful. I could have eaten the whole bowl as it was served, but since it was there, I added culantro and basil, a few beans, a squeeze of lime, a swirl of sriracha, and got started. It was amazing - steamy and fragrant and filling. Eating this pho made me happy! About halfway through the bowl, I was full. Three quarters of the way through I was stuffed and had to quit. I took the rest home and my boyfriend happily consumed it. I'll be glad to try the pho at other restaurants, but it's hard to imagine that it could taste any better anywhere else. Notable details: -the server brought a pot of tea to the table as soon as we sat down. It was a nice tea - jasmine, I think, and the teapot and matching cups were very pretty! -I had a sip of my friend's Vietnamese iced coffee and it was delicious! I can't drink coffee at night because the caffeine keeps me awake but I seriously considered sacrificing a night of sleep and ordering one for myself! -our server was very kind and attentive

Huong's offers tasty noodle soups just like my mother makes at home. Their hu tieu mi is delicious, hot, and cheap! They also offer daily specials like bo kho (beef stew) and banh cuon (thin rice noodle sheets stuffed with minced pork). There's plenty of seating. Park your car across the street and walk over.

I'm a big fan of Vietnamese food and since moving to the Portland Area I've tried several and liked one a lot (Thanh Thanh 2) and was underwhelmed by the rest. A random person suggested I try Huong's and since I had an appointment across the street, I did. DAY-UM, it was good, from top to bottom! The service was excellent and the food was the best Vietnamese food I've had in Portland. I had the shrimp fresh rolls (Vietnamese fresh rolls could be my favorite food on Earth :) ) and the "rare steak" pho. It was the first time ever that I didn't have to add some sort of flavoring to the pho broth. I will definitely be back again!

I've been dipping my toes into the Vietnamese restaurants in the Portland area and I have no idea what took me so long! This place is great! My first visit was recently during my month of vegetarianism so I couldn't enjoy the pho but it looked and smelled amazing. The portion was generous and came with the usual additions of basil, bean sprouts, jalapenos and lime. I will definitely be back to try it because it looked really good. I ordered the crispy noodle veggie stir fry which was awesome and a huge portion. I had a giant plate of crispy fried noodles covered in a tasty, spicy sauce with veggies. I went for 3 stars on the heat level but it felt like 5 stars. There was a load of chili flakes in the sauce and I'm glad for my glass of water. I love spicy food so I wasn't complaining at all. The prices are really reasonable even during dinnertime. I was really impressed with the service we received. Most of the tables were full in the restaurant and I quickly figured out that there was only one waitress for the entire place. Despite this, our waitress was incredibly friendly and pleasant. She never once showed any stress and was very attentive to everyone. Granted we had to wait a little longer to put in our order and receive it, but she was doing an amazing job of keeping an eye on the entire place without freaking out. I give her major props for that.

The food is very good but the atmosphere is a bit strange. Feels a bit like a dining room converted from a former hospital or something. There was only one server when my husband and I went in for dinner and she was busy but still managed to check in and be friendly. The lo mein is awesome.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it has to be one of the better Vietnamese Restaurants in the Northeast. The large house Pho was everything I expected from a standard Pho noodle soup, except it wasn't loaded with msg and they put plenty of onions and cilantro I'm there! Plus, the side veges they provide are nice and fresh! Ambiance is better than most Pho places (not that this is strictly Pho). Love the waitress there. This would be my first choice for a quick eat in Portland as it is easy to find parking nearby and it's close to 295.

Pretty good Vietnamese food, right next door to Kim's sandwiches. Even the owner of Kim's was getting takeout from here. No frills, simple Vietnamese food. From pho, to bun bowls, to rice plates. They even had a bun Bo hue special which I'm going to have to return for when they have it again.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and got the bbq pork spring rolls for an appetizer. The pork was very forgettable and not that flavorful. However, the dipping sauce was off the chain. If I had to do it over again I would get the vegetarian spring rolls. After that, I got the seafood pho and my husband got the shank and rare beef pho. I thought the broth was awesome, but my husband pointed out it was the same broth used for his as well, which is a bit unsettling. At the same time, it was delicous, and we ate it all. We also had the jackfruit smoothie which was heavy on the ice but had a great flavor. Overall, I'd say it satisfied our vietnamese craving very well.

Friend and I went here for lunch to celebrate the first winter storm watch of the season. The dining room had a warm inviting atmosphere and was half full at 1pm. He had a pho rare steak and I had the vegetable lo mein. The food was hot tasty and well priced. The service was quick and friendly. All nice words so why only four stars? There was only one veggie only option that I could find. Every thing is fairly price so I imagine all you carnivores will give it 5 stars

Clearly the best Vietnamese food around! Just had a really long day and was feeling very spacey, but the flavorful Pho broth picked me right up - every ingredients is fresh (you can tell) and the place is very affordable. The service was also great - family run and I got to meet their new born! I'm very happy I came across this place. I've travelled a bit in Vietnam and if you can't make it there, definitely go here!

I got the pho, boyfriend got the vermicelli. Pho was good! But my boyfriend said his was alright- he's had better, and I agree, there is better vermicelli elsewhere. But it's cheap, servings are large, and they poor a solid glass of wine for $5. Oh- and they're open on Sunday's!

We have tried most if not all of the Vietnamese restaurants Maine. Huong's is probably our favorite. We found it accidentally on a search for Vietnamese sandwiches in Portland. Coincidentally (or not so much). It is on the same block as Kim's Gift shop. A small Vietnamese store that sells homemade Vietnamese sandwiches and steamed buns. The soups are delicious and the broth was very tasty. The sides are generous. Prices are reasonable. This is not a fancy establishment, but who really wants a fancy Vietnamese restaurant anyway? Definitely stop in. You will not regret it.

The best Pho in Portland. I am from Virginia and tried many Pho places before but this place beats all others. Now I have one more reason to visit Maine again. Highly recommended!

I went there October 9th on a thursday for my birthday, it didn't look to busy but people started to trickle in. we ordered pho, eggrolls and curry seafood and meat combination. The eggrolls came out after our meal but it's okay because it was delicious I wanted to order more. The pho was so good and it had tons of meat in it, and i could barely finish my ex-large bowl but I did because I love pho. my fiance had the curry seafood/meat combination. We were kind of confused because we'd thought he would have seafood but i guess we read the menu wrong so he got the meat combination stirfry over rice and he didn't complain because it was delicious! Friendly service. Great food!

Got the bun special- it was BBQ and egg roll. Pretty delicious, and extremely plentiful. The only issue was the server was obviously new and needs some more training- but I am a stickler for exceptional customer service. Would definitely like to be asked if I needed anything more before having my check dropped. Will definitely return.

I have never had a pho like this before. All of us devoured their pho. The best pho ever.
