So, yeah. It's Denny's. Let's just be real. We're not looking at quality food or even a nice experience. That said, I have been frequenting this Brighton Ave Denny's for six years. Every time I have walked in, I have know what to expect, and my needs have always been met. Six years of Denny's. I have never thrown up. Six years of Denny's. I have never had the shits. Six years of Denny's. I have never regretted it. I feel like the people of Denny's are part of a strange American sub-culture. Truckers, ominous looking men in suits, the occasional family with toddlers that come in at midnight, Waitresses from can-you-repeat-that-istan that treat you like their own children. Can I really say I'm disappointed? No. I can't. You know what you'll find here- you all do. If you're reading this, chances are you need that pancake fix, just got in from that red eye flight, or (if you're as strange as my family in 2011) feel like bringing the family to Denny's on Christmas Day. Denny's will always be there- always be open, always accept you as you are, always smother you in the love of a thousand pancakes, of moons over my hammy, and of questionable rotating themed menus. The reality hits home: I am part of a small niche, formed not with intention, but by the vociferous waves of American ingenuinity and ideology that makes us who we are today, all culminating here: Denny's. Truth. Freedom. This has been a sociological and philosophical review of Denny's. If you genuinely don't know what you'll find to eat at this classic American diner, then you probably don't belong here. Or maybe you do, wayward and care free spirit that you are. Float free. 3/5 for utilities sake. Food is average/below average. Bonus: Right behind this Denny's is what my friend group (read: people I go to Denny's with at 2am) affectionately calls "the Grand Canyon of Westbrook"- a gaping hole by a local gravel company. You can peep it through the fence. Don't act too fishy now, ya hear?

I come here only during the late night, when everything else is closed. Service has always been great but food is meh to just ok; it's nothing to write home about. It definitely wouldn't be anywhere near my first choice during the day when I have other options available.

I tried their Apple Danish Stuffed French Toast and I definitely feel stuffed. It was very good. My son had their t-bone steak and he said it was good and my little guys both had the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches. My daughter is very picky and had mozzarella cheese sticks and hubby had a sandwich, but not sure which one....our plates are empty and our bellies are full. Not bad place to get a decent meal with the family. Our waitress was very good at noticing what you were looking at on the menu and would give more information on the item and she was nice.

Definitely not the best breakfast I've ever had... And not the cheapest either. We were seated after 10 minutes of waiting, which was disappointing seeing that there were so many waiters and waitresses working and a number of empty tables. I think the service you get really depends on the server you get since ours was pretty nice but took literally FOREVER to bring out our food. It felt like an hour, especially because we were starving. The worst part was that we had to ask our server for the progress of our food before she even pestered the cooks and got our food out to us 10 minutes later. The food itself was pretty mediocre. I had the fresh fruit and yogurt, and the fruit consisted of the minimal bananas, strawberries, grapes. My eggs were well cooked, but how difficult is it to make eggs? I would say that this is the place to go after midnight on any night when no place else is open, but there are several other better breakfast places to choose from for the actual meal.

So......Your not gonna get the best breakfast you ever have. That being said, What you get is consistent food and service. They have several options for people with dietary restrictions and that makes it a place I can go often.

Went for the Hobbit-ity sausage. They were out. But Bilbo's feast was good. Honey cake!

Not bad, and definitely better than an IHOP. It's your only option in the middle of the night while staying at the crappy Travelodge next door.

Julie was our server this morning and she couldn't have been better. She was very friendly and was entertaining to everyone in the resteraunt. The food was the standard menu for Deny''s. Nothing spectacular.

More like a 2.5 rating. Not the best Denny's I've been to, but Denny's is always cool for being open 24 hours & hittin' the spot during a late night. This Denny's was located about a block away from a motel I was staying at & I was glad to have it available to me.
