Definitely the best lobster roll available. Get takeout.
Best lobster roll we had this trip! Lobster meat was perfectly cooked, tender, sweet and obviously very fresh. Hamburger bun style roll with sesame seeds - perfectly grilled with salted butter. Really good! Doug's is going to be very difficult to beat!! I'm spoiled now.
Perfect shore dinners -- really can't do better than Doug's if you're looking for a casual spot to enjoy lobster, chowder, etc. We've eaten there -- and also grabbed food to go. Always delicious.

Tremendous ambiance and local beer selection. It has a Jimmy Buffet "Margaritaville" type atmosphere. The food I would give a 7\10. Nice clam chowder. Big menu with good variety. A fun place to go if you're in Port Clyde.
Two stars for the atmosphere and short wait time for a table (which I understand now). We spent two weeks in PT Clyde and ate here a few times. Like others have said service is way too slow. Food is mediocre at best...second visit my wife ordered chicken fingers and the rest in our party just had chowder and steamers. Chowders all came out luke warm, chicken fingers and fries cold. Sent them back...waited 10-15 minutes. Delivered chicken fingers and they were obviously slung in the oil again until almost black. I asked our server if they could start over and do it right? Waited another 15 minutes...came out hot, finally. But by then my wife had lost her appetite and the rest of us had been done eating for 30 minutes plus. How hard is it to deep fry chicken fingers and fries and deliver within 5-10 minutes? They probably need to add an extra server and some supervision! Not perfect!
Beautiful location, nice atmosphere, and the food was good... but the Dip Net provides horrible service. This was the second time I had hosted friends at the Dip Net. The first time the service was horrible. The second time around showed no improvement. We were seated and we waited...... Finally placed our drink order and waited........Placed our food order and waited even longer. By the time our food arrived, our drinks were gone and our waiter never even noticed. He disappeared before we could ask for refills and never came back to make sure our dinner order was satisfactory. By the time we had all finished our meals, I had to go into the kitchen to ask for our bill, and even then it was 10 minutes before anyone could come back to our table. I have to echo the previous review from "Andrew F" You'd think being owned by Linda Bean and her endeavor to provide a "Perfect Maine" experience would bring forth stellar service. Instead the service here is excruciatingly slow for everything and something so simple as a waiter/waitress noticing an empty glass was not to be had. The only difference between me and "Andrew F," I wont be coming back anytime soon.
