The gloomy Maine weather was the stimulus to getting out for a supper. The dining room had some lively music to listen to. A pleasant appetizer was a spicy cranberry jam, goat cheese costini. Our entrees were a fried haddock sandwich with fries, a stout burger with onion rings, a classic burger with sweet potato fries and a buffalo chicken salad. The portions were generous the food was good. The server was friendly and efficient. There is a rewards card if asked for where it records amount paid and rewards $20 for $250 in purchased. Alcohol is excluded. The Orono brewery company provides several draft beers. Worth repeat visits. They is patio dining available when the weather is good.

Woodman's is our first choice for dinner out in Orono if its just the two of us. The food is fresh with quality ingredients thoughtfully put together. They make superb mixed drinks that are quite large in size (my go to is the Moscow Mule). Their recent addition of Orono Brewing Company beers is just another reason to go out. I would recommend any of their food - we've had great burgers, steaks, risotto and pasta dishes. They are accommodating of food allergies if you ask, which is always nice. The only downfall is that Woodman's is often busy and can be hard to go to with groups. If you are flexible about table or bar seating, the wait isn't often long. Plus, the bar is a great place for conversation.

A local favorite of ours. A great mixture of friendly staff and good food. We always enjoy our time at Woodmans. Have not had an entree that I would not recommend. Burgers are excellent if you're looking for Pub fare. Good local beers on tap, and a unique cocktail menu as well. Worth a visit, for sure.

High class pub food at it's best! Cute, small restaurant/pub atmosphere. You can sit at the bar with friends or enjoy a romantic dinner for two. I have eaten there several times and have never been disappointed. The burgers are amazing and they offer incredibly creative specials. The chef has a great talent for combining and coaxing flavors! They also have a great drink menu!

Best burgers in the Bangor area. Recommend the stout burger. Great cocktails as well as beer selection. Great all around American fare that's not a franchise and a step above some of the other options in the area. Good place to take your parents or relatives to when they are in town visiting. Not a lot of room in the place and it does fill up quick. Good service.

This is a great place to grab some decent food and great beers. Whenever I am bringing my kid up to UMaine I stop at Woodman's, the burgers are great, they do offer grass fed beef. They get their beers from the brewery across the street. Excellent beers I will say. The prices are not bad, average for people that don't live in Orono I think. They have opened a front patio, that's nice to have a drink and app outside. The restaurant is smaller and seats fewer than you would think. Service is usually good. The food is on time and cooked to the way you asked. I have no issues here at all! I would go again and will.

Woodman's continues to offer great food and beverages. Now carrying their own mircrobrewed beer (Orono Brewing Company) in addition to other local beers. The bartenders and staff are all friendly and welcoming. As of this writing they're adding an outside deck to the front of the building so that will not only add more seating space but a nice view of Orono's Main Street area. In addition to their regular menu they offer weekly specials. Head chef Mark Horton and his team do a great job with the menu. Highly recommended.

Don't be fooled by the plain exterior! Inside you'll receive a warm Woodmans welcome, a cozy atmosphere a excellent pub fare. Burgers are always perfectly done and each meal coming out of the kitchen looks like thought went into the placement of all the good (I should know, I sat at the end of the bar once and saw everything coming out of the kitchen). Friendly staff, moderately priced food and a cozy atmosphere. What else could you want? The Woodman's Burger is enough of a reason to go.

Woodman's is one of the few establishments in the Bangor area that can lay claim to being a fine dining restaurant. Their prices are slightly high, but you can be ok with it if you're walking in with the expectation of having some good food that is well done. Nothing on the menu is altogether different form what you might find other places, but it's all well done and shouldn't disappoint.

I have visited this place 4 times in the past 2 years, it totally inspires me to move to Maine. Each time it keeps getting better, its a great pub atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and all the regulars really help make you feel at home. The only thing that tops the atmosphere is the actual food/drinks.last night I ordered the Sidecar as a drink,I forget what was in it, but it was very tasty I ordered the chicken florentine alfredo, it was amazing. Very flavorful and creamy. Decent sized portion and garlic bread. Lastly dessert was peanut butter pie.it was to die for. Layer of creamy peanut butter cheesecake like filling, then chocolate under that with crust. I can't wait to go back!

Was just there tonight waitress jessamy and hostess super friendly alot of teamwork going on there, very attentive. Drinks good had the painkiller and a brew sample. App was delicious pulled pork egg rolls, my entree the burger one of the top I have had the fish and the onion ring and sweet potato fries were so so, weren't bad but definitely weren't as good as the burger cooked perfectly medium rare. All in all a great experience, other then the leaky ac vent but hey it's been hot out the ac probably working overtime.

First of all, the food was very good. I've tried at least 15 variations of a blackened chicken pasta and this was by far the best! I was however disappointed that at this price there is no bread served before dinner and the decor could really be updated. A few other constructive comments I have: I would definitely change the plastic plates they serve on (really reminded me of a school cafeteria, they look cheap), replace the tired looking carpet (again, looks cheap compared to the quality of the food), and replace or at least reseal the windows. I was seated near a window when it was 19 degrees out and the draft was really bad.

This is one of my husband's favorite places! He is a huge cheese steak fan, and he says that Woodman's has the best cheese steak in the area! I have tried many different items on the menu and I've been happy with everything! Great selection of beers. If I was rating on beers alone, it would have been a 5 since they have a nice selection of microbrews on tap along with PBR! Like I've said before, I like a good beer but every once in a while I like a good PBR. The owner, Abe and his wife, Heather, are super friendly and strive to make sure everyone feels welcome. Also, the bartenders are very attentive, especially Dave, who I never have to ask for another round because he knows enough to have it already poured for when I need it. Great local place, I know I'll always be happy after a meal (and a few beers) here.

I was recently in Orono on business and was recommended this place by a few different people. I was not disappointed. My dining experience here was great. The staff was friendly and helpful and the bartender made sure my glass was never empty. A good beer selection is always important to me when dining, especially when dining in a state as famous for microbrew beer as what Maine is. The draught beer selection here was great, with mostly regional microbrews and a couple of macros for the less adventurous. For my entree I had the Shrimp Napoli, and I can say that it's easily one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had. I will definitely be eating here if I'm ever in Orono again.

Having a girls weekend and read great reviews so we drove a hour out of our way to go here. Apps were mediocre...main course dishes were awful. Service and atmosphere was pleasant. Sorry :-(

I am just preaching what the other reviews have said. The food and atmosphere are great. In a distant 3rd I would put service... They always have new food and drink specials to please your palette; however, what I survived on for several weeks was their buffalo strips. Their homemade sauce was not like any sauce I have had before. Not really like Red Hot's, but nothing like A1. Woodman's also offers some really juicy burgers. I am bacon cheeseburger man myself. I really like the analogy that this is a masculine version of Fiddleheads in Bangor. Inside Woodman's, you'll find dark mahogany decor, bar stools, tables as well as a pool table. I highly recommend this as a place to grab a few brews or take business clients. Be aware though they barely have any parking!

I just finished a conference at Univ of Maine in Orono. Every night I would drop into Woodman's (recommended by the local inn) for a bite and a drink (more like a few drinks). This place has great service, very good drinks, and good food. The bartenders (Abe, Mark, and Phil [I think]) are very friendly and go the extra steps to ensure clean glasses, properly chilled drinks, and healthy pours. I had the steak, burgers, and wings and really enjoyed them. Orono is a small town. I wasn't expecting to find much, but was so happy to find Woodman's.

Woodman's has long been our local favorite for dinner. Great atmosphere and food. Hosts Abe and Heather are the best and have really improved the Orono restaurant landscape with Woodman's and Verve. Now they are serving brunch. Went today to reward myself for shoveling out of the most recent storm and I'm so glad I did. Best Bloody Mary ever! finally someone adds enough horseradish. Eggs Benedict are offered several ways ( ham, spinach, crabmeat, smoked trout). Eggs were perfectly cooked and plopped on butter-grilled English muffins. Hollandaise was ample and unbroken. Opted for fruit instead of home fries because I am so all about healthy and finished up with piping hot churros to dunk in a second cup of coffee. friends had the special huevos rancheros and they looked great. Try a Chihuahua ( tequila and grapefruit, salty or not) or a mimosa made with Abe's favorite cava. SO happy to have this in Orono.

Great food and atmosphere. Food is a little pricey. I really like the staff. Very friendly! Not much for parking space. You will probably have to park in the parking lot behinds Pat's Pizza and Margarita's.

This is the kind of place where you can come with friends, have a good meal and hang out for a bit if you wanted to. When you first walk in, you'll notice the warm and inviting interior - dark wood tables and bar, all tastefully lit. Their menu consists some typical bar type of food, like burgers, potato skins and wings, and more substantial offerings like New York Strip Steak, fish and chips, and Alaskan Salmon. There are a few vegetarian options throughout the menu, which are highlighted with a green leaf. Recently I had the pleasure of having spinach and artichoke dip served with warm tortilla chips as an appetizer - it was quite tasty and generous in portion. The vegetable puff pastry entree was something I've ordered a few times before, and it never disappoints: a pastry shell filled with garlic, peppers, onion, mushrooms, spinach and potatoes, all covered in a lemon dill sauce. Mmmmmm... This is like comfort food I wish I grew up with. The restaurant also has an extensive martini menu, along with a respectable beer selection, both draft and bottle. Service is cordial and attentive, always with a smile.
