I rarely give out five stars. For me four stars means highly recommended. Five stars means you'll remember the meal forever. Plus, I don't want to appear to be a shill. With that out of the way... We stopped here for breakfast only because our first choice was closed. The staff was among the friendliest I've ever encountered and eager to offer suggestions about activities in the area. The breakfast was also top notch. The home fries were perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and clearly made from scratch. The bacon was also crispy, as it should be. Those two items act as a barometer of a good breakfast. My father-in-law would have approved. We liked it so much that we came back for thanksgiving; a full turkey dinner with all the fixings and all of it like home. I've only had turkey this good once and that was the time I cooked mine upside-down. Look past the decor and you'll be rewarded.

This place is not horrible. The food was decent and everyone ate all of their food. It was pretty expensive for what we got. Pretty generic and straight from the box and then microwaved food. I had the shrimp quesadilla and it was literally a tortilla, cheese and shrimp. Nothing else. At least there is a playground next door to entertain the kids. I'm sure you could do worse. It's not like there are a lot of options in Oquossic.

The Four Seasons Cafe* is a locals-only type of place in the one-horse town of Oquossoc, Maine. If you're in a season that is not summer, this is one of only two or three restaurants in both Oquossoc and Rangeley that is open (and only open on the weekends at that). The restaurant lies on one of the snowmobile trails, and I think nearly the entire clientele is probably local snowmobilers. I came in 10 minutes before three locals, and sat at the bar. The server took the locals orders first. One of the local snowmobilers actually had to tell her to take my order. The interior decor is fraying, and the restaurant is kind of tilting on its foundation to the northeast. I did not go into the bathroom, but there is a bathroom sink and towel rail behind the bar, which makes me think that at one point they converted the bathroom into a bar. I think I would have changed out the sink, at least. Which brings us to the food and drink. I naturally ordered an appetizer that I thought would be hard to screw up, and it was OK. The beer was a 12oz draft, and it tasted like they needed to clean the lines. Both the 12 oz draft and appetizer cost around $12, which is outrageous. But, hey, if you're desperate for a drink in Oquossoc in an off-season (and it's ALWAYS off-season in Oquossoc), here you go. * Not affiliated with Four Seasons Resorts, its subsidiaries, employees or shareholders.

Stopped for lunch while snowmobiling. OMG did we regret it. Horrible food and worse service. Do yourself a favor and find the Gingerbread House. It's like night and day.

Pleasant food, however they refuse to make any substitutions, and charge extra for to-go orders.

I loved this place. I am from CT, so I was in this town and tried this place. Fabulous food and very friendly staff. The owner is soo nice too. Everything here is homemade. When I say homemade, I mean homemade. Nothing comes from a box. I was here for breakfast and I had the best homefries I've ever had at a restaurant. They were tender potatoes and seasoned perfectly. I also had a mixed berry muffin and it was soo good. It was light and fluffy and had a nice taste. My friend had french toast and I couldn't resist a piece. It was made with thick Texas toast and had an excellent taste to it. I also ate dinner here and had the strawberry shortcake for dessert. Best strawberry shortcake of my life. The biscuit didn't have any weird aftertaste to it like other biscuits I've had in past and it was delicious. My friend had the wildberry pie, but the crust tasted like it wasn't cooked enough because it was still doughy. Also, the place does not have a/c, but I have found that out in a lot of places near Rangely. The weather was very hot that day in Maine. So, the because of these reasons, the place only gets four stars.
