Man, I dream about these sandwiches when I'm not in Maine. And I don't think I've ever visited Maine and NOT eaten here. This is the place for Italian Sandwiches. YUMMM! The hubby also tried their Kennebec special - man, it just melted in your mouth. I'm hungry just thinking about it. Mmmmmmmm! The only downside - no place to sit and immediately enjoy. We usually end up driving to the park at the boat docking area and watch the birds while we eat. Then, we swing for a bit. Great way to stop and smell the roses, so to speak! :)

I don't care for the lobster rolls here because 1. Mayo and lettuce and 2. Sub roll, not top-split. HOWEVER my entire mayo and lettuce-loving family LOVES these things. They've been visiting this place for decades, I've listened to my dad wax poetic over these lobster rolls with my aunts over the phone on Christmas, and when we make our yearly pilgrimage to Maine each summer to visit extended family, build fires, roast marshmallows, jump off docks, and tell stories, these lobster rolls are always there. The ceremony is a strange one, to be sure, and it has changed some over the past decade. Used to be, my Aunty (say "on-tea", not "ant-y") Di would drive from Unity, fetch as many rolls as her fridge could hold, then stash them there in anticipation of her siblings' arrivals. The rolls would then be offered, as though they were a super secret surprise, to everyone coming through the door. "Hey! Look what we have in here (grown man leads other grown man to fridge and throws open door with a flourish and a huge grin)...LOBSTER ROLLS!" Now, each member of the family will receive no fewer than half-dozen redundant texts and phone calls prior to the feast regarding # of rolls required and whose sacred duty it will be to obtain them. Whole? Half? Will we want to snack on one later? Are we planning to eat one for breakfast the following day? Do we remember how good they are? And also how BIG? The lobster rolls are HUGE, packed with lobster, and this store is the real deal. It's an unassuming family owned corner store, much like the ones that used to dot the country but have been largely forced out by chains. Avoid the tourist traps and don't you DARE get a lobster roll from McDonald's!

Love this place. From the greasy pizza (with the best bubbly crust), to the spicy hot wings, to the french fries, to the Italian and meatball subs, to the nacho salad--this place is phenomenal. I may be biased because I have lived down the road from it for the past 19 years, but this place really is great. AND. They deliver. Pretty much everything listed above is the best from their menu. I've heard their lobster rolls are good, but I'm not a fan of lobster so I haven't tried it. Also, it's just convenient. You can find almost anything there, so you can grab it on the way home or something if you need. There is no place to sit inside, though. That's probably the only downside, if you would even consider that a downside?

Their lobster roll is no joke! The small 8" is packed with lobster and the prices are so much better than the tourist filled spots around the coast. It is seriously so good!

The large lobster roll is actually two meals! Well worth the $19.95. Perfectly made! Better than many of the lobster rolls downeast on the coast! Fast friendly service.

My mother-in-law and I stumbled upon the Korner Store en route to a relative's house. We were hungry and in a rush, so we stopped in to grab some "Italian sandwiches" (aka: subs or hoagies, depending on the part of the country where you live). We were anticipating standard sandwich-shop fare -- lunchmeat, Iceberg-lettuce confetti and American cheese-food product on a roll -- but were delighted to receive two healthy-sized "small" sandwiches made with actual cheese and fresh veggies. We also ordered a large chef salad which incorporated some ready-made olives but was otherwise made of real lettuce and substantial meat and cheese. All in all, a super good value for the money. Korner Store also sells locally-grown organic veggies at the checkout - a nifty plus. The only bummers were the onion rings (breaded and frozen, yuck) and the wait time for our order. I suppose the latter can't be helped if humans are assembling fresh food, though.

I have always found the Korner Store overrated. Greasy pizza with soggy crust, soggy, oil-saturated fried food. Disgusting.

Excellent sandwiches, generous portions, open late. Definitely the place for quick takeout meals in the area.

there is no better pizza that I have found. 12 inch fresh dough pepperoni. pizza perfection. and the home made meatballs ate outstanding! cheap prices for awesome food. I make a special trip to the K Store whenever I'm in central Maine.

I never got past the lobster rolls. First thing we ordered, only thing we ordered. They are amazing. The meat of several lobsters in each one, didn't even pay to make our own (which is what we usually do when we go to Maine. Lobstah dinner yeah!). I would get a lobster roll (roll? It's a hero, lobster hero), eat out the lobster, delicious bite by slow delicious bite. Then fill the bun with a farm stand tomato and have a lovely tomato lettuce and mayo hero to finish. I could do it every day. Oh wait, I did. (Well, almost.)

So here is the story with this place, it is a "to go" kind of deal. The pizza is amazing, the best in the area for sure, make sure you order "fresh dough". They also have incredible lobster rolls. From the outside it looks a bit dodgy but honestly the food is great, perfect place to grab some pizza on the way out.

The place we go for lobster rolls. Sandwiches are also good. Best news is that they will DELIVER! I've had the fresh dough pizza many times - I'm not sure what all the "hoopla" is all about - of course - I consider NYC the only place to get "real pizza". I guess I'm a bit of a pizza snob...
