I recently lost a bet and had to eat at Chinaway. Hard for me to offer one star for a lunch that cost five bucks, but hey, it wasn't worth it. Rough lunch, rougher on the stomach after.

There are two places to eat Chinese in Newport, and word of mouth is that the other place is "disgusting", so I ate here. It had been years since I had eaten here, because I moved away from Maine and was back for a visit. I came with 4 friends. The server was nice, she was not only serving but working the bar, so the drink service was a bit slow, but she was doing it alone so I can forgive that. Food tasted great and came out quickly, I was happy with the overall experience. The toilet in the ladies room of the bar dining room is an adventure, it rocks back and forth when you are on it, so it can be entertaining (especially to your drunk friends).

nice restaurant but its the usual. food is ok, but have had better. they do have a bar inside the place; haven't had any drinks there so I dont know the quality of that side, but food; like i said...i have had better. prices are fair for what you get.

Zero wow bad could it be how can you kill chicken and general Taos the 2 lunch special were barely recognizable. General Tao had one piece of broccoli and the chicken well could not really tell and the color was yellow gold and finally the long hair in my hot spot soup killed it we pain and left !! How bad can it get this was it!!

My wife and just ate here. We are at a loss who would ever return for a second meal. This is the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. It is also very sad to think people eat food like this in anywhere in the world.
