We had an excellent meal here over the weekend. They have a nice wine and beer selection. The moscato was very good! We ordered the baked haddock and the sirloin pasta. They were both cooked perfectly and very good quality. They come with salads and rolls which were also very good. We will definitely be back and looking forward to it.

My girl and I decided to stop in this establishment for dinner last Thursday. It was aboout 700pm there where a few open tables that we noiced when we first walked in. The hostess told us there was a 20 minute wait for the cooks to catch up. Right when the hostess mentioned this we should have left. But being on vacation and having some time on hand we told the hostess we would wait at the bar. We ordered two drinks. The hotess seated us 25 minutes later. Sat for 10 minutes when the waitress, who was pleasant, gave us menus. We where all set with drinks. About 5 minutes later wiatress takes our order. We order two meals, 1 appetizer, 1 chowder. 15 minutes now pass and we have no water, bread, or salads, we haven't seen the wiatress and now our drinks are empty. My girl and I decided to leave. We paid for the two drinks and left. On the way out the hostess did apologize and mentioned to my girl that two cooks walked out of there shift. Awesome! Ended up at Umbrella mart down the street and picking up a couple really good heat and serve meals for our room. Not sure how the food is at Merced's but I would recommend making a reservation before going here. Good Luck!

Party of six, and we had a great dinner at Merced's. Not overly flashy when you walk in, but the food was all prepared well and our waiter was friendly and attentive. Highlight was the baked stuffed lobster (whole, big lobstah) stuffed with shrimp and scallops. Highly recommend Frank's blueberry salad as a substitute over the house salad. Great views of Brandy Pond on one side and Long Lake on the other. It's a solid four and a half star place, but I'm giving it five for the great service and views, on top of the very solid food. We will definitely return.

We only were able to visit this place once during our stay in Naples, and feel that we need an extra visit to explore more of their seafood menu. I had the salmon with a lobster hash, which was pretty interesting. I love potatoes, so this dish was perfect for me. The salmon was a little dry, however. My husband had a scallop pasta dish. Though, he said he'd never had better scallops, the pasta was overcooked and not worth eating once the scallops were gone. Service was average for Naples (read: on the slow side) and the prices were comparable to the restaurants in the area.

We have been here a couple of times while on vacation. Each time, the hostess was unpleasant. Hostess needs an attitude adjustment. Food and service was good, but the hostess has issues. After placing reservation on her time table, we were still unable to get the server we wanted. She also snapped at our server over the window shades. Get rid of the hostess and I will give you 5 stars.

There are some bad reviews about this place. We held off going because of the reviews. We did run out of places to go in Naples so we went here on the reccomendation of a local friend. The food was excellent, the service just fine, and the prices reasonable. We would have gone here more often had we known about this place. We will def. come back when in the area.

Made a reservation for 4 people at 6:30pm on a Saturday. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. (I recommend reservations on the weekends and summer!) parking can be a little difficult as there are not many spaces available. We started with an appetizer. The "Baked Fresh Mozzarella- Marinated Tuscan style, baked on crostini, and served with tomato coulis (7.95)". There were five pieces of bread with a sun dried tomato sauce on top and mozzarella. It was just enough for an appetizer and had good flavor My son ordered the lobster stew and "Grilled Swordfish: Topped with a Maine lobster and tangerine sauce. ($20.95)". I had the clam chowder and "Filet Mignon: 8-oz. center-cut tenderloin wrapped in bacon, grilled to your liking, and topped with sautéed mushrooms ($24.95)" (which is what my mother had as well) and my husband had the evening special of prime rib. Everything from the salad and homemade rolls that came with each meal was absolutely delicious. The tangerine sauce on the grilled swordfish was nice and light to give the fish a good flavor. I wish the bacon on the filet was a little crispier, but the filet was tender and flavorful. The mushrooms are a great add and really make the dish. We typically never order dessert but it was my birthday so we all shared the lemon cheesecake with fresh maine blueberry topping and the toll house cookie pie with vanilla ice cream. Sooooo gooood! The service was fast and our waitress extremely nice. The bus boy was quick to clear -a little too quick sometimes and I said I'd stab him with my fork if he tried to take my plate! Haha. He was very polite and asked to clear the next time. The waitresses and bus boy even sang me happy birthday with a candle in my dessert :) As usual Merced's doesn't disappoint. With their casual waterfront dining and all food made in house from scratch. Fair prices for meals made to order, salad, rolls and choice of sides (potato, rice or baked potato) Can't wait to go again.

The food is always good here. Other people mention the hostess. That is the biggest challenge. I think she is probably a nice person but a little overwhelmed by crowds or the potential for crowds. I've been twice and both times getting seated was the obstacle but the food turned out great. Beer options are just ok for beer geeks, but you'll find one or two decent ones. One of the better dinner options near Sebago Lake, for sure. Good views of Brandy Pond marina area.

Disappointed with the food. Grilled Chicken Sandwich was not tasty at all and the roll fell apart while trying to eat it. My son got a hamburger and that was worse. Very dry and not good- again the roll just fell all apart! The service was extremely SLOW!

our best lobster rool on our little weekend trip. we sat outside and watched the marina and boats; the staff was friendly; choice of homemade chips or fries, and good big lobster roll with only a tinge of mayo, and a bit of lemon juice, Perfect....we would definitely go back. staff nice and prices very reasonable.

I had this at 3 stars but this week, a year or more after my review was posted it has been deemed incredibly rude. I have been receiving emails from an employee that I can only describe as petty harassment. If this is the way they operate then although I live part of the year just down the street I will never be back. Just as a side note.... Thanks for the mother comments since I just buried the woman you jerk!

I live in a close proximity to Merced's and have dined there 5-6 times. The food has always been good and deserves a 5 stars. However, last time we were there we arrived exactly on time for our reservation and the hostess in a coarse and abrupt tone said "you almost lost your reservation and there is another party coming in 1.5 hour for that table!!!!! We'll we took our time and had desert I was not about to rush when paying a premium price for dinner. Tonight, I called for a reservation, the same hostess answered the phone asked "when would I like to come in" I said 6:00 she said " that's not going to happen"!!! I asked what was available and she said 5:30. I said I could do that but might be 5 minutes late. Again she seemed quite consternated and said " I need that table for another party at 7:00. I will hold the table 10 minutes and that's it"!!! I told my wife this story and she said cancel. We went to another restaurant and had a nice relaxing and enjoyable diner. Maine has a number of dining option and poor customer service is inexcusable. I will probably not go back!

Went for dinner last night for first time... Hubby is allergic to shellfish and we told waitress this at beginning she gave us great options and said she would make sure chef knew the allergy. He ordered the chicken tenders and fries and I got the small sirloin steak with potato wedges and salad came with it... Blue cheese dressing was delicious! Not sure if homemade, but didn't taste like any bottle one I know of! Tenders were unbelievable! Huge homemade light and airy breading and moist! Delicious honey mustard for dipping. Sirloin was tender and perfectly cooked. The wedges were great too! I got unsweetened iced tea and hubby a soda...waitress was attentive and talkative and very on top of service! Definitely going back here, and the view from the deck is amazing!

I have been here a couple of times now. Going off season, I expected to have a short wait and good service. Well, we got seated right away, and even though there were 2 booths open, we were told they only had tables available. Ummm, okay.... 5 minutes later a couple walked in and was seated at a booth. 10 minutes after that a table of 4 was seated at the other booth....wth?? Our waitress spent so much time taking care of one of her regulars that it took 20 minutes just to place our order. We got our soup and salad fairly quickly but had a 15 minute wait between salad and entree. Getting the waitresses attention was quite difficult since that "regular" table required so much attention. The food is pretty good. Soups are great but I find that the vegetables are so over seasoned with basil that they competed with the fish I ordered. While each item is good on its own, together on one plate they don't blend well at all! All in all, my last trip here will probably be my last trip.

I added capers and the saltiness was a perfect addition My wife had the baked Salmon with cucumber salsa she loved. Above all you must ask to eat on the upper deck, unbelievable view of Brandy Pond and Long Lake If had any complaint, service is Maine slowness :). Laid back and no rush so plan to relax

Hands down, the best food between north Portland and the NH border. I think the servers do the very best they can within the limited amount of space they have.. but the reason I go to restaurants like this is for the simple reason that it's NOT a cookie-cutter, chain-type eatery.. and it definitely has a charm all its own. You go to a restaurant for a number of reasons, the food being first, and this place has it. Sauces are outstanding.. desserts are excellent.. salad dressings (I believe) are all made right there in the kitchen, and have never gotten one I didn't really like - I'm very impressed - Don't miss this!

My fellow Yelpers were completely right! Great place- food was excellent, service and view terrific and prices were were less than I expected for the quality. Standouts: both the Clam Chowder and the Lobster Stew starters were amazingly rich and creamy. There was so much lobster in the stew, I could've skipped my boiled lobster entree and been satisfied with just the stew. My fiancé had the shrimp scampi recommended by another Yelper and was extremely satisfied with both the taste and portion size. The pasta was made fresh in house and you could tell. My boiled lobster was a special that evening and was delicious. Our drinks were served in cold glasses and with generous pours. All the servers got extra points from me for clearly announcing the price of all the specials. My pet peeve is servers who don't tell you the price of the specials, making you feel that if you must ask, you can afford it! Not such standouts: the balsamic vinegrette was overpowering and the vegetables that came with my lobster were oddly seasoned. The baked potato was forgettable. My only regret is that we are leaving Naples before we will have a chance to eat there again. Totally recommended!

If I were only rating the food and atmosphere I would give this place 5 stars, HANDS DOWN. However, when you factor in the service at this place, it takes the star level down a few points. The service sucks! I grew up in Boston, and now live in the Lakes Region area. I've dined-in at Merced's probably 5 or 6 times since they opened and every time I leave with the same feeling: the service is so aggravatingly slow that I would never come back here if I didn't love the food so much. I was here last night for a post-Valentine's Day dinner with my hubby and some friends. We had a reservation and were seated promptly (it was Sunday night and they weren't super busy). Our waitress was pleasant and took our drink order right away. A few minutes later the drinks arrived and we placed our dinner order. We got a couple appetizers, salads, dinner, the usual. Appetizers came in a fairly normal amount of time and were delicious as always. We were looking for some rolls right off the bat, and when we asked for them we were told that rolls are served with the salads. I understand that logic, but in 95% of the restaurants you go to, the rolls are served first thing and you're always offered more when they run out. Last night they put a basket on the table (with the salads) which contained only 3 rolls. We were a table of FIVE PEOPLE. How do you actually serve 3 rolls to 5 people? That's just ignorance. HELLO? We asked for more, and were brought a new basket with 4 more rolls. Their rolls are incredibly delicious, by the way. I believe they charge extra for rolls if you ask for more than the allotted 1 per person, which is fairly annoying but whatever. Dinner came in a timely fashion, it was delicious, the end. That was last night's visit - which was actually probably the best service I've had of all the times I've been there. Unfortunately, the only reason it was decent last night was because we're in the off-season and it was a Sunday. All the other times I've been to Merceds were in-season and I have NEVER once experienced or heard anyone say anything good about the service in-season. All the other times we've been there, the wait to get your meal has been horrendous. We've actually seen other patrons walk out pissed off. We once took my parents to Merceds last summer while they were visiting from Boston, and waited OVER AN HOUR for our dinner to come out. We were a couple minutes from walking out without eating, but the waitress urged us to stay so we did and the food finally came. Nothing was even comped from our bill that night to make up for our aggravation. That really grinded my gears, and still does. I'm wishing the owner will read this, and make some changes. We would dine here and bring out-of-town friends far more often if the service was quicker. It would truly be the "IT" place in town if the service was faster, because the food is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is classy and upscale, waitstaff is generally polished (in appearance) and friendly, and the scenery (especially at sunset) is beautiful. I'm not sure if it's a wait-staff issue or something wrong in the kitchen, but either way it needs to be fixed. The slow service there has a reputation around town now, and they can only survive for so long on good food alone.

The food here is excellent, but the service was the worst we've ever experienced. We waited 1.5 hours to receive our main course. The restaurant manager was very defensive and did not handle the situation well. We usually eat here several times every summer. We won't be returning this year.

Made a reservation, which was fine. When we got there we discovered there was no parking spots at all - not so good. Parked a distance away and arrived at the table at 7pm. Server took drink order and returned promptly. The she took our food order. Clam chowder bowl at $9 came right out but was watery and had very little pieces of sea clam. What happened next was Naples' version of "The Last Man Standing." We sat and sat and sat while it seems that every other diner in the place received their order, ate, paid and left. After waiting 40 minutes without as much as a word from our server and possibly after taking note of the scowl on my face, she returned and said it would just be a few more minutes until we received our food. Well, a few minutes went by and still, nothing. At that point we considered walking out, but I asked for the manager instead. The manager came over and told us the chicken we had ordered was taking longer than expected. REALLY? I think the place could have raised one from an egg in the time it took them to put food in front of us. Very lame excuse followed by a very lame offer to comp us desserts, which we accepted. For the record, our food arrived exactly one hour and twelve minutes after we were seated, and the place wasn't exactly packed either. My son's fries were cold, but the rest was fine. Now the kicker, I told my server that I would like a digestif instead of dessert, she said she would check with the manager and then shortly afterwards showed up with two desserts and my sambuca. When we asked for the check, the desserts were comped, but they banged me over $6 for the sambuca, WTF? When I asked for the manager again the bar back came over and said, "Sorry but we can't comp drinks in Maine." Umm ok, I get it, but you wouldn't need a degree in economics to take $6 bucks off one off the meals, would ya? Merced's you just lost my entire family's business because you are slow, inattentive and cheap. We won't be back, as there are many other fine dining places within driving distance that value their customers more.

Made a reservation, and they kept it. Got seated upstairs against the windows on a hot summer Friday night. We watched all sorts of activity as the boats moved about on Brandy Pond. I ordered twice-baked potato, but our server came back and said they were out. I didn't like that. If you're low or almost out, go check first. Got a Japanese rice that I did not like. Got a great frozen strawberry drink, yum. From where I sat I could see Brandy Pond and Long Lake as the sun set. This is why FOUR STARS. I just loved the view.

FINALLY ... a restaurant on the lakes that doesn't just rest on it's location!! The food and service were very good. Nice interior, great views and comfortable for our party of 6 that included 2 young children. We sampled a lot of the menu and were generally pleased. The nachos were a huge hit and it was a large plater; perfect for sharing. The artichoke dip appetizer was delicious, but needed to be much hotter and should be served with sturdier (and more) dipping chips. The cheeseburger was great and cooked to a perfect (as ordered) medium. The braised short ribs were delicious. (Someone in that kitchen clearly knows how to cook meat.) The kid pasta was excellent (homemade!), but the kid pizza was really, really bad (frozen??). Prices were very reasonable for both food and cocktails. A nice, cozy spot after a day of skiing, but I can't wait to take the boat over for some summer sunset cocktails. UPDATE: Visited for the 2nd time almost a year later and it was still just as good if not better. The waitress was VERY patient with our hungry, tired, over-skied group which included 3 young children. She was extremely efficient and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was great, this time the artichoke dip was piping hot. We still had to ask for additional chips, but that's because of the above mentioned hungry kids. The wings were fantastic, kids meals were a step above the usual kids' fare. Real chicken tenders, homemade pasta and a great cheeseburger. The adults had meat, meat, meat and it was all perfectly cooked and served with delicious sides.

Ok , so I give this spot 5 stars , we got mussels for an app which 3 of us shared , was perfect , next came salads and rolls , all the dressing were exceptional ( balsamic vinaigrette , and lemon thyme vinaigrette ) , next came entrees , baked stuffed shrimp , mushroom ravioli , chicken macadamia , and the braised short ribs .. Not a complaint to be had , to finish we had the lemon cheesecake .. Everything including the service ( Meagan the bartender ) was top notch , we will definitely be back and would recommend this to anyone in the area ... Now ... The only thing I would " complain " about , is the existence of flys , seemed to be excessive here , however it didn't effect our meal ... Happy Dining ..

The Caesar salad ($9) with anchovies ($2 extra) was very tasty and fresh although small for the price. The view is very nice. The waitress was efficient and friendly.

My husband and I went to Merced's last night. The crab cake on the appetizer menu was awesome! Very mild and delicious. FINALLY ... a restaurant on the lakes that doesn't just rest on it's location!!
