This place drips character. Atmosphere is very cool, Tom the owner is an incredible source of knowledge. If you are staying in Millinocket, this is the place.... Or do what we did and stop by on your way out of the park and have a beer

Had the scallops Michelle. Amazing! Great service and friendly staff. Enjoyed the meal! Stopped here after climbing the Katahdin. Highly recommend it.
Honestly I didn't think they would have good food here, but I was wrong. The food is very good and their burgers are fantastic. I didn't have the chance to get the lobster while I was in town, but a few of the people I was with did and said it was excellent. Everyone was friendly in this very small Maine town.
Overall very nice place. I ate here twice, so that says something. First night I had the blackened scallops over rice. Very yummy with some nice heat. The sauce really sold the dish as it married the scallops with the rice. The second night I had a sausage calzone. I gotta say I was thinking of that calzone all the way down from a very cold, windy, rain-drenched Mt. Katahdin, so it was a welcome sight when it finally arrived. It was good, not the best I've ever had but good. The bread was yummy, but I found the sauce more runny that I prefer. Still, I wasn't too picky at the time. Can't give it a full five stars as the service was kinda slow -- possibly just due to peak season.

Fun and homey little B&B in Millinocket; feels like you're in the guest room of some friends-of-friends, rather than a customer in a hotel. Sean and Catie have been running this place for about 3 years as of 2014; they provide rooms stocked with spherical plush animals and themed art, plus breakfast tickets for the local Appalachian Trail Café (~2 blocks away; an easy walk if your legs are working, and street parking if they aren't). I actually prefer this to in-house breakfast sometimes; much less fiddling with wake-up times and uneven homemade french toast. We went for the Medieval Room; Launcelot tilted at Sir Tarquine in mellow fantasy-art style in one frame, and there was a knotwork piece called "Cuthbert's Revenge" in another. (Google tells me these are both by Randy Asplund). Other rooms had fishing or moose themes. All were exceedingly well stocked with "squishables," large spherical plush toys. Each room had a TV and DVD player; the toiletries basked was well-stocked with interesting stuff, like my favorite bar shampoo and a few different soaps. Truly stellar WiFi; any time the phrase "half a T1" comes up, you know this isn't regular hotel "Internet." Both Sean and Catie are refugees from high-tech lifestyles, so this is one B&B where the computer always works and the owners could patch a new video device into the TV in their sleep. The location's a nice balance --- an easy walk to the main strip, but light traffic. If you're up for a mellow evening in a relaxing room, check out the Ice Fish Inn --- and consider stacking the plush spheres off to the side.
The owners are very nice. We were greeted at the door with their cute dog. They accommodated us when we had to reschedule, you can tell they are a little new to a bed and breakfast but they did good. Definitely made sure you were comfortable, and had a pretty good movie selection. Would def. come back.

When we spend a week in Baxter State Park we always finish our trip with a visit to the ATC. We love the atmosphere and the good food and never fail to end our stay with a piece of delicious berry pie. The cafe seems to have changed a bit this time with a new menu and a spruced up decor. We had burgers and fries with drinks for lunch. The medium burgers ordered were well done but still very good. We didn't get many fries with the burgers but again they were good so no problem. When it came to dessert the pie selection was apple only, so we went with the apple. Bad decision. The filling was undercooked apples with a thick custardy sauce. Unusual and definitely not freshly made. The crust was rubbery and hard to cut with a fork. It's a shame because the pies were the highlight of our meals. I hope this was just a " bad pie day" and not a change for the worse. We love the ATC and we'll give it another try.
After backpacking in Baxter for a week we were very hungry. We went to lunch and asked I they were still making breakfast which they said they would do. A person in our group had a gluten allergy and asked of thy could make a sandwich with her bread, Rey didn't have gluten free bread and they said no, customer food could not go in the kitchen. They did make he snowing without bread and she could use her own bread. A little strange but we made it work. For food we got breakfast burrito, buff chicken burger (very good!!), stuffed french, toast turkey club, potato skins and triple berry pie. All we very good but the favorites were buff chicken and the pie. Service was slow but we weren't in a hurry. The cook came out at the end to make sure everything was good. Will probably go back after another backpacking trip.
Had a wonderful breakfast at the cafe with the family on the 4th of July! Small home town feel with friendly service and tasty food. Had the yogurt parfait with homemade blueberry sauce and freshly made hash browns! Yum!!

The view here is stunning! We went just before sunset and snagged a table on the patio, and we could see Katahdin across the lake as we sipped our wine. The food here is good, too. It helped that we went in mid-August, so they had a lot of fresh produce on the menu (from their own garden!). The peanut butter/chocolate cake was rich and decadent (as you'd hope!), although it was a really large portion. My husband and I split it, and we still couldn't finish it. Overall, I was really happy with the experience. It was a perfect way to spend a summer evening.
Great find in the north woods if Maine! Returning home from whitewater rafting on the Penobscot, looking for a breakfast place. Beautiful building on the lake, great menu and very welcoming staff! Would love to check it out for dinner!
The food was good and the waitstaff (Matt) was excellent! It was a really nice place to grab a bite to eat before we went on our sight seeing tour. The prices were reasonable and the waitstaff attentive.

Had lunch here with friends today. The restaurant has recently opened and is nicely designed. The atmosphere is very laid back. We definitely felt welcome there. There was a decent selection of beer considering the location. The food was good, plentiful and affordable. I read the other review for this restaurant. All I can say to it is that this is not a fancy 5 star restaurant nor do they claim to be. It is the north woods of Maine, you are not going to find much better anywhere around.
This place is smaller than I expected. We arrived with a party of 12 they could not seat all at one table, nor would they put 3 tables together for us :( Call ahead for large parties. Food was well cooked, the sirlion was not a well cut, piece of meat. The appetizers were big, everyone left having had a good meal. JMO the family, town fathers, and local businesses should look to spruce the entire street and make it more of a destination for those of us who have watched the tv show and go for a look. Few of the local businesses were open and looking cared for updated and wanting business.
This joint has ANTLERS on the wall, CHAIN SAWS everywhere, fresh warm BREAD on the table asap, cute waitresses, bathrooms on BOTH floors, The Katahdin chili taco salad hit the spot after a full day of hiking the K-mountain and the burgers were certainly nothing but burgers. Burger = burger you get what you pay for including $1.41 beers on tap. 'Nough said. They are working on fixing the windows so don't worry about that.
