My partner and I stopped in between lunch and dinner (around 3:30ish) for something to eat. Having never been here before, and the cold, rainy weather making me want soup or chowder, we decided to come here. The space is nice, and the lounge/swing music playing was pleasant. We were the only customers. My partner ordered the seafood chowder and a crab salad club. I only ordered the seafood chowder, which was described as having "shrimp, scallops, fish, and crab." I got a heavily-sherried broth with flecks of crab and maybe one chunk of fish and one shrimp, and a whole lot of potatoes. I don't mind potatoes in my chowder, but I was expecting more seafood and less filler. Not a scallop to be seen. My partner didn't even get a little shrimp in his. His crab salad was tasty, but could have used a touch more seasoning. Overall, I probably won't come back here.

My husband and I decided to try, as we sat and waited for our waitress I read yelp reviews and was scared...glad we stayed food was great. I really like that they offer 1/2 orders as I'm not a big eater. The only bad thing about the night, our waitress left half way through our meal, otherwise good meal.

A neat restaurant, looks like it may have been an old bank or something. The place was empty when we went, but it was a Monday night. Waitress was very friendly and did a good job. I had the lobster roll, my son the fried seafood platter, and son-in-law the baked stuffed haddock. We all liked our meals. A little pricey, but it was fresh seafood. A good selection of local beers also.

Mediocre food. Polite but inept service (missed one order in a party of four). Soups were cold. Avoid.

Great food! The lobster stew is awesome...tons if lobster! Ordered a frozen pint to go and it was the same quality!!! I might even order it via their website since we are about 4 hrs away!

Not a bad restaurant in the strip of places on Water Street. All the beers on tap were local brews and the server gladly let us sample several varieties so that we could pick a favorite. I really liked the white ale, and I like my beer with fruit! I tried the corn chowder and I'd rate that a 2.5/5. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either. I like my chowder a little heartier, this was more liquidy. Easy to get in, no wait, and plenty of attention. I didn't have dessert, but the selection of pies sounded amazing.

The portion sizes and prices were decent here. The kitchen made a terrible miscalculation in cooking time since most of our table ordered fried platters and I ordered the baked seafood casserole. Everyone's plates came out fine except mine which was still raw in the middle. In all fairness they offered to make it good. I decided to switch over to a fried combo platter since I didn't want to wait, plus you can see when fried food isn't cooked. They gave me a large fried combo at the price of a small and offered a free dessert. Fried seafood is fried seafood, so there wasn't much to say about it except that it was normal.

The Maine-style chowder was bland, but it was a nice place for lunch. 6/07

First time visiting, and I had the lobster stew with friends. I thought the lobster itself taseted fresh, but there just wasn't enough in the bowl, and the cream and other things that made up the broth didn't taste as spicy or as good as I'd have liked.

Hubby was craving fish and chips so we stopped in at Hatties. He ordered the fried haddock with french fries, coleslaw, and a side salad. I ordered corn chowder and a side salad. The salads came first and all of the ingredients were fresh. The peppercorn ranch dressing tasted homemade and was very flavorful. Warm rolls and butter came with the salads. His fish came out piping hot with just the right amount of cornbread batter. My corn chowder was sweet and full of corn and potatoes. Only 2 negatives. The waitress brought his tea with lemon when he ordered it without and he got charged full price ($2.50) for a second iced tea.

We've never had a bad meal at Hattie's. We like the fried mushroom appetizer, the French onion soup, the chicken santino, the steaks, the haddock, the chowder, and the French silk pie. Nice drinks and beer on tap.

After traveling for 12 hours I was tired and hungry. First thing I do it pull out my phone and look for something to eat. First thing that comes up is Hatties so I give them a try. I walk in and find they have a one man band playing some tunes which sounded pretty good. I sit at the bar and was greeted right away these guys have some local beers on draft which I enjoyed they also have a pretty decent menu. I had their lobster bake but really wasn't a fan since it was overcooked I also tried their chowder but felt it was a bit to watered down but after being in Maine for a week I noticed thats the thing to do here.. Overall this place is a cool place to come and unwind after work. The food might be good but what I had wasn't that great.
