This is by far out favorite Chinese food. We have been coming here for years and have NEVER had a bad meal. Christmas dinner 10 years running. If they were closer to my house I would weight 500. Great people too.
Love this place!!! When we want Chinese food, this is the place we go to. You get allot for the price and it is always good! We even go here for our Christmas dinner....yup, just like in the movie The Christmas Story!!! It is run by a great family and we have gotten to know them over the years and it makes it extra special when we go and it's always nice to catch up on how they are all doing! Now that is what makes a place!!
Driving through gray two weeks ago I stopped to get some food, Chinese is my favorite and this place China Gray takes it to a new level. There food is fresh and they make it hot, not to mention there's always more than enough for lunch the next day, it's so heavy and all quality! I live over 20 minutes away and today was my 3rd time back, it gets better everytime, consistent and great service to! I recommend everything I've had so far, General Tsos, Sweet and Sour, & Orange chicken, Beef with Peking, the spring and the egg rolls! I can't wait to put my leftovers in the oven for gameday tommorow!

The George Perley house is not about the high quality bath towels and bath products, cleanliness, free internet, cute decorations, tranquil setting and so much more. It is all about the Innkeepers Cole and Doreen and how they treat you like you are family. They both have ultimate respect for their guests. And the fresh breakfast they cook homemade every day comes from their heart. Stay in the Suite, it is comfortable.
We just had our second visit to the Perley House. We liked it the 1st time so much we had to come back. We stayed in the suite. It's roomy and comfortable. Nice to have our own bathroom. The tub had jets which made for good recovery/relaxing after XC skiing. The bed was very comfortable; not too soft like a lot of BnB's nowadays, but not hard either. They only had a VHS player rather than a dvd player, but there was enough good channels available to keep us entertained. It was good having a kitchenette to make toast or hot chocolate, tea, instant coffee etc. Plenty of closet space but no dressers. But the closet had shelves. We lived out of our duffel bags anyway. Breakfast both days was really good. Doreen makes a superior fruit salad. Her frittata and french toast were yummy. She and Cole made nice breakfast companions (we were the only guests that weekend). The highlight of our stay was Clarence, their new cat, a Norwegian Forest cat. He was very friendly and entertaining. It broke our heart to say goodbye. We hope to be back again to ski more trails at nearby Pineland Farms.
We enjoyed two nights at the George Perley House in July 2013. Air conditioner worked just fine for our large room. Doreen and Cole are lovely hosts and served a delicious breakfast. The internet connection is strong and the service is free. What I love most of all about the George Perley House is that it is absolutely pristine. Spotless. Immaculate. I have no idea how they accomplish it, but wow and thank you.

This is the best hidden jewel in the area. I live in old orchard and am now looking for excuses to come back up this way. Great staff, the kind of people you Maine is famous for. We had the bbq nachos- delicious and great portions. The outdoor area is great. Perfect stop for a beer and nice meal. I'm looking forward to checking out this spot at night- I hear there is great music and fun trivia nights. Looks like a good environment for it.
Did takeout from here on a Groupon. Initially it was a little hard to find the restaurant (it's in the back of the parking lot). It had a casual, homey feel inside and i was greeted by multiple people. It had a bit of a dive bar-vibe, so I'm not sure what it would be like later at night. I was given my pick up order promptly and we were very satisfied with our food. I was expecting basic pub grub, but our chicken fingers and steak sub were some of the best we've had in the area.
Great food! Great service! Great owner! Great music. Went in to check it out on a Sunday and the blues music was so good and the owner Sue was so nice we stayed for a few hours. Highly recommended for beer food and fun.

I moved to Maine in 2003 from MA and have eaten in quite a few Chinese restaurants near Boston. China Village is the best I've found in Maine and is as good as most of the places I've eaten in around Boston. Nice fresh vegetables, great portions and everything cooked to perfection. It's the only Chinese food I eat in Maine. I have to drive 17 miles each way but it's worth it. Highly recommend.
Huge portions - plan on taking some home for tomorrow. Good American-style Chinese food. Service is not exactly professional but friendly. Order a Mai Tai or two (but not three if you are driving).
This place appears to be a locals only joint, who I am assuming are the only ones to have written these reviews. When we walked in it was stereotypical comedy routine-jukebox stops, everybody stared at us. The stares were in relation to the fact that my fiancé and I waited to be seated. Everyone that came in after us seated themselves, however there is no sign indicating self seating. I guess this is what happens when a restaurant is in a house. We read the reviews and made our selections based on the positive reviews- crab Rangoon, dinner special beef and broccoli and dinner special general chicken with egg roll and boneless spare ribs. The crab Rangoon should have a name change-it is clearly a fried cheese wonton. After eating only one crab Rangoon each, our meals came. The only thing general about the chicken was that it was generally terrible. Greasy, chewy, and just bad meat. The spare ribs was also mediocre. After trying two pieces of chicken, and one spare rib, I tried a bite of the egg roll. Well that did it. I had To excuse myself to the rest room and involuntarily vomited. We travel a lot in the states and Europe, eating at many different restaurants. I have never became ill like this at a restaurant. When I came back I didn't tell him what happened because I didn't want to upset him. He excused himself and came back and told me he became ill. I told him I had too. He had asked for the check prior to going to the restroom and the waitress came and asked me if we wanted to take things home. I said no thank you. She asked me if everything was okay. I said "it was okay". I don't like to start scenes, and being from Boston and not a local, I'm not sure how that would have worked out. Our check came (29 dollars) and I needed change. They waited us out and finally we just left leaving a larger tip than was earned. we wanted to get out of there. I don't usually leave negative feedback but for out of towners and the well being of people's health I felt it necessary. Clearly this restaurant focuses on quantity vs quality.

Di Santo’s

Reviews:
Three Words: Awesome. Fresh. Food. Three more words: RED! SAUCE! RESTAURANT! The use of the phrase "red sauce restaurant" in a review usually signals a reader immediately. It is at once descriptive and dismissive, marking a restaurant's cuisine predictable but uninspired -- comfortable, safe, and humdrum. Di Santo's a gem of an Italian restaurant located not far from Exit 63 of the Maine Turnpike in southern Maine, is anything but. Its food is exciting, inspiring, and just plain outstanding. How outstanding? I have eaten Italian food in northern, central, and southern Italy, and in the Italian enclaves of New York and New Jersey. I visited Di Santo's a few weeks ago while staying in Maine with family. With that background, I can say this with confidence: Di Santo's offers up simple, delicious, fresh meals on par with the best Italian cuisine you'll find in or out of Italia. Di Santo's builds its foundation from components recognizable from all great restaurants: fresh ingredients prepared excellently, combined into taste and texture duets that complement each other and leave the customer wanting more. Service that is timely, friendly, knowledgeable -- and that makes you feel at home. But the food is the star at Di Santo's. Sausage? Ground, mixed, and stuffed daily; its spices positively aromatic, exploding in the mouth on first bite, but not overpowering the palate. Gnocchi? Dough made that day, then rolled, cut, scored and boiled not long before they hit your plate. Tender, not dense. Springy and soft, not chewy. Lobster? Pulled from the Gulf of Maine that day, flaky, buttery, awesome. Sauce? Prepared freshly every day, full of fresh vegetables, with a tomato base that is sweet with an acid kick, but not an unpleasant one. My party of 6, to a person, loved their meals. Ours ranged from veal to seafood to sausage, and all of us raved about our dishes to each other and to our waitstaff. I came to Yelp expecting to be one among a host of reviewers praising Di Santo's. I was surprised to not find a single mention of the restaurant on the entire site. So, let me be the first to say: if you are in the "Lakes Region" of Maine, in search of Italian food, prepared excellently with only the freshest ingredients, rendering meals on par with great Italian worldwide, stop at Di Santo's.
Stopped by on our way to Sunday river. Not impressed. The menu was huge. It was an overload for the eyes. Service was not the greatest. We sat in bar table area which we heard the bar tender flirting with waitresses/ hostesses. Just unprofessional, but it happens. Food was alright, but not worth it to take for left overs. There were many people coming in and out of restaurant. If I had to, I'd go back. But not for a while. Owner is related to the family who owns Anjons....Anjons in Scarbourgh is hands down better quality!
This place was starting to become "our place" for my boyfriend and I. It's where he asked me to be his girlfriend, and it's where we went to celebrate occasions. Good drink special selection and the only place the Mr. could get authentic veal parm. That's what the 2nd star is for. Then...I made a reservation for Valentine's Day 2012 for 6:30 and even asked for a specific table. This was after conferring with the Mr. about a good time for him (the end of his work day is very open ended) and even called with my sister in the car (so I had a witness). We arrived at 6:31 and they had given our table away--they wrote down my reservation for 6:15 and considered us a no show. I was so careful NOT to be late for 6:30 that there was NO WAY I made a 6:15 reservation. That's such a random time, and not convenient for me. I asked why they didn't even call me, since my phone number was right there next to my name. The snappy answer: "we don't have time to call everyone to confirm." No, but you SHOULD call them if you take their phone number and you're about to give your table away! I live 5 minutes away--if they had called we would have left right away to get there. I asked for a different table, but due to the holiday they were booked and could not accomodate us. We spent Valentine's Day, all dressed up, at Cole Farms. I WANT to go back here. I liked it. It was special to me. But I just can't get over how I was treated. And I know I was in the right, but couldn't argue. It was their word against mine, and they had 6:15 on paper. We now call it "The Restaurant That Shall Not Be Named."

This is the only good Thai place in the entire Lakes region or Gray area. We've tried the Chinese and Thai places in Windham and Manee Thai is the only one worth going to and worth going out of your way. The Crab Rangoon appetizer is fantastic and the Pad Thai is well worth it. However, the ambiance of the restaurant is not great, so make this a take out stop. We've eaten here about 20 times for take out and it's been good every time.
Decent Thai food, super friendly staff! Had lunch there on our way home from north Maine to CT nothing super special but fresh ingredients and good price.
Pad thai was ok, kind of bland. Better once I added lots of peanut sauce. Spring rolls were mediocre but seriously overpriced. The Thai iced tea is all I get there now. Which is saying a lot because I'm pregnant and a garbage disposal right now and love nearby lol I just expect Thai food to be more flavorful. Not awful overall, just not really good either. But totally grab a Thai iced tea on your way by :)

I just had by far the worst experience I've ever had in 20 years of going to cole farms. It was a holiday so it was naturally busy. We got there and were told that it would be a 20-25 minute wait for a party of 5. We waited over an hour before starting to ask what was going on. They then told us 20 more minutes. After waiting 25 more minutes and hearing the same numbers being called twice since we had been there, we asked again. They told us they needed to do smaller parties first. This entire time people who had gotten there after us with larger parties had been getting seated first. This made absolutely no sense to me or any of us. There is no reason we should have waited that long whether a smaller party came after us or not. (we were only w party of 5) After coming here my entire life and loving it, I now look at it as a place of horrible service and incompetent employees. I was actually surprised to see many more critical reviews on yelp as well as especially since this place has been loved by many for so long. Current management really needs to get this place under control so it can survive and thrive another day. I for one, will not be coming back for a long while.
Came to this restaurant after stopping by the Maine Wildlife Park and unfortunately, found it to be pretty disappointing. I'm pretty sure that the fish chowder was made with frozen fish, and I think that's pretty unacceptable for any restaurant in Maine. The fish was really chewy and didn't have much flavor. Looking at some of the other dishes that were served to the customers around us, the lobster rolls and fries also looked prepackaged and not freshly made, and the vegetables of the day looked indistinguishable. My friend who got the chicken bacon ranch sub thought the chicken tasted funny, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was frozen too. The servers were very attentive and nice though, and pretty quick in getting the orders through. You could definitely find a better place to eat in the area.
Used to go all the time. The bar was a nice addition. The service in the restaurant is good. But the bar? Forget about it. We went through the stages of grief on the service. First denial. "It's not that bad." Then we started to make jokes about the excruciatingly slow service. Then acceptance. Then we just stopped going.

Don't do fast good often but grabbed dinner here as we were traveling. In short, this place blows. We ordered 2 wraps. Both where horribly prepared and had several holes and quickly fell apart in the cardboard holder. The fries were way over cooked and very hard. The kicker is we waited about 10 minutes for the food at the drive in window with only 1 other customer in the store so we know it was made "fresh". We will never go to this McDs again.
The Big Mac is to die for...literally :)
What we ordered: two tossed almond iced coffees with cream and sugar, everything bagel with cream cheese, steak and egg on roll. What we got: one toasted almond ice coffee with cream and sugar, everything bagel with cream cheese...and a egg and cheese? No steak? Slow and couldn't seem to understand why we were waiting for our second iced coffee. The unfortunate part is its the only coffee place so they can be as crappy as they want and people will still go.
