Nicelys is a great local convenience store that does excellent homemade pizza. We prefer their crust to Gorham House of Pizza even. Pretty basic choice of toppings but all solid quality and taste. And who doesn't love the cow on the roof?

Exactly the coffeeshop every college town needs. Warm, inviting, and friendly.
This is the perfect small town coffee set-up: right in the heart of downtown Gorham and down the street from USM. I spent many days here in-between classes gulping down coffee and eating bakery sweets. I love how they have a drink special on the board every day, whether it's a Black Forest Latte or some Tiramisu concoction, it's always delicious. In the fall time I'm pretty sure they offer hot cider as well! The staff is always friendly and it's reassuring when you see the place fill up with town locals throughout the day. A sweet spot you should definitely check out!
Stopped in for a cappuccino this morning. Amazing. Better then Starbucks. Great atmosphere too!!

We loved our dinner here! Excellent service and presentation of our food was worthy of a high end place. We were the last peril to leave and have to say it was taught to get up. Aside from the AC blowing in my face - it's a five star.
Great spot! Dinner was fresh and delicious, I especially loved the caramel banana dessert. The inn is immaculate and rooms very comfortable with modern bedding and decorations instead of the antique-ish furnishings usually found at a B&B. If I had one 'complaint' it would be that breakfast is served from 8:30-930- small window if you are away relaxing for the weekend and want to sleep late. Loved it I would definitely go back. Thanks Matt & Amy
My fiance and I had a lovely two nights in Pinecrest. We spent two nights in the Covington, and I absolutely loved the comfort and decor. It had a home-y feel without being too stuffy, as I find many other B&B's. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. While you don't get many options, they do ask ahead of time if there's any type of food you can't eat. Plus, everything they made us was stellar. The vanilla and almond whipped cream on the French toast was particularly memorable. Lastly, they are just so nice! They had a lot of great tips and suggestions of places to go. I would definitely plan on staying here again if I was anywhere nearby.

Ocean Gardens Restaurant and Tavern

I'm giving Ocean Garden Restaurant five stars because it is exactly what it should be. It's not known for innovative cuisine, american twists on ethnic dishes, re-imaginings of classics promulgated by Julia Child. It is a country-town restaurant and bar. Its specials always consist of several lobsters and steamed clams. It specializes in such fare. It offers a salad bar that often comes with any entree one chooses. Prices are inexpensive and the food is great. I've gone here with my mother and father and aunts and uncles on many occasions, usually one of their birthdays. It's fun and the waitresses are sweet, helpful and their sentences are always punctuated with 'honey!' or 'sweetheart!' If you find yourself in the neighborhood, stop in and enjoy the lobsters and steamers. And the down-country hospitality!
I'm not a big fan of lobster but if you are, this is the place to go. The food is cheap and good. I had their special honey baked haddock ($12) which included the soup/salad bar, choice of potato and vegetable. The baked haddock was good and the honey glazing was a nice touch. Their soup and salad bar was pretty basic but was a nice bonus to have with your meal. Their soup was cream of broccoli which was a bit salty for my taste but was still very good. I had a taste of the lobster which was fine. Service was good and the setting was pleasant like dining in someone's country living room.
Great place for lobster. I had twin lobsters and salad bar for $16! The lobster was excellent. The service was very good. The salad bar was pretty basic, but adequate. I will definitely go back.

I was in Maine with friends for the AGS Conference and on the last day we were driving south out of Maine and visiting a few cemeteries on the way. A friend is from near here and suggested that we have ice cream. She said it was the best in Maine (she's from Maine) and we stopped off. Actually, we visited the cemeteries to kill time till the opened.. It is an outdoor place so I imagine it is seasonal. The ice cream was great, I mean really great. I had three scoops the getting hard to find French Vanilla was tasted just right, Butter Pecan, which was full of excellent pecans and German Fudge Cake... which is pretty incredible. So go there if you live close, if you are in Southern Maine, it is worth a visit! You could probably even find a day of things to do there!
$20 dollars for 4 small ice cream cones, and the waffle cones were stale! Ripoff, with no offer of a refund! Never again!
If in the area, this is a great treat for yourself. The ice cream is great and the prices are low. They give out pretty big scoops. Our three scoop cone was $5 so go all out and get yourself two or three of their many homemade ice cream flavors. Plenty of parking and turnaround is pretty quick. There's bound to be a line when you go but it's worth the wait.

Always easy, always delicious. Highly Recommended.
Loved this little hole in the wall! Lacking in decor but not lacking in beer or flavor! The beers were great! The appetizers were even better! Huge portions and so delicious. My boyfriend and I split the honey sriracha wings and the sweet potato fries with sweet cream dipping sauce. So good! And we didn't even need to order entrees because we were so full from the appetizers. Reasonably priced and nice outdoor seating. They have a car show on some Monday nights and sold hot dogs and beer outside! Would definitely go back!
I love Sebago--- and pretty much come here every time I'm in town. Their beers are solid and I especially love their very solid IPA--- especially on a warm day sitting outside on their patio! Sebago is spacious and very family friendly, parents! The waitstaff never seem to be phased by "instant ordering" to satiate the kids appetites, and they are always all over it the second you're seated with crayons and an activity sheet to keep the lil ones occupied while they wait. Everyone can find something they like at Sebagos. Beer aside, the app menu is impressive and the portion sizes are ample! My personal fave is the hummus and tzatziki plate. Yum! I usually get their salads for an entree, but I've also dove into a sandwich or two, which have always been excellent! Great place to hit up any day of the week--- either for a drink or a meal. I promise you'll walk out....(maybe in a straight line ...or maybe not!) with a smile on your face!

Best Thai around at a good price.
One of a kind pad thai. I recently moved away from the area, and cannot find a Thai place that serves this style of noodles. The orange. It's great.
Fabulous Thai. Tamarind duck fantastic! Massaman Curry best ever had (including New York... Dino feel free to stay in NY). Pad Woon Sen (cellophane noodles with vegetables and Togu) to die for. And Triple Delight was great with perfect ginger sauce. In the middle of nowhere coming back from home on Kancamgus Highway. What a find!

Mr Bagel-Gorham

13 New Portland Rd
Gorham, 04038
Reviews:
The bagels here were good. There are several Mister Bagel locations in the area and each location is independently owned and operated. A breakfast and lunch menu is served here which includes a decent variety of bagels & spreads, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, eggs, 3-egg omelets, French toast, pancakes, paninis, wraps, cheeseburgers, salads, and sides. They also offer real maple syrup, plus Red Bull drinks in the cooler. For the pooch, they offer "doggie bagels" too! The prices seem fair and similar to other bagel shops in the area, bagels w/o toppings are $0.95 (1), $4.95 (6), $8.89 (12); bagel with plain cream cheese $2.49, most lunch sandwiches $5.89-$6.89. I stopped in at the Gorham Mister Bagel (looks like a typical house) on a recent Saturday morning to pick up a half dozen bagels. The place was fairly busy, as the cozy dining room (table seating & hard booth seating) was almost full of hungry diners having breakfast and there was also a short line at the takeout counter. For bagels, I picked out cinnamon raisin, onion, everything, plain, wheat, and tomato basil. The bagels were not the puffed out kind I'm used to having, which had a soft and very chewy texture inside, but were good for the most part. I especially enjoyed the cinnamon raisin bagel which had plenty of raisins and also the tasty tomato basil bagel. I would stop here again for breakfast since I pass by this location often on my way to Westbrook and Portland.
