Okay, I was kind of torn about how many stars to give the Osprey. The food is very good and the view is great. I first ate here a long time ago and remember it being fancier then; the decor is still nice, but at least for lunch, no tablecloths, etc. (Which was fine with us.) My only problem is that on our most recent visit, the waitress neglected to tell us that side dishes were $2 each. TWO BUCKS for a tiny dish of cole slaw?!? Maybe she made a mistake charging us, but either way they lose a star for that. She also charged us $2 for a different side dish which sounded like it came with the entree as well. Enjoy your meal but check your bill well!

Delicious food, drink and accommodating staff! We recently stopped by The Osprey for lunch with our baby and two dogs. We were able to eat outside at a lovely picnic table overlooking the marina. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. While we waited for our order we had sumptuous bloody Marys with oyster shooters - it was hard to select from the intriguing cocktail programme. The bartender also had a selection of house infused liquors, which looked delicious. The rim of the glass was a delicious spicy concoction. For lunch we had the salmon fish tacos with cilantro mayo (wonderfully fresh, and tangy) and the five islands pizza (lobster, brie, and scallions) which was light, flaky, fresh and flavorful. All in all this is a great restaurant with delicious selections and an amazing view. I'd give it a Michelin star if the guide came to Maine (worth a special trip)!

Cute little spot. Stopped in here on the way to an event -- I'm always a sucker for a restaurant with an ocean view. The service was a bit slow but my pizza -- a caprese pizza with balsamic vinegar drizzled over it -- was so good it made up for it!

Food was very good. I had the Lobster Tostada and my wife had Lobster Bruschetta. My wife absolutely loved her meal! My Tostada was decent but could have been better. Our server didn't get my dinner salad out for 40 minutes, and neglected our side order of sweet potato fries all together. So overall it's a 3.

Second visit. Both visits we were served well and enjoyed our food and our drinks. First visit it rained so we sat indoors but had a great view of the cove (and a beautiful rainbow). Second visit we sat outdoors and the view was nice (not a lot of outdoor seating so you may have to wait if you want to sit outside). Food and drinks were good this time too. Plenty of parking and good variety on the menu. After eating, be sure to take a walk along the docks and check out the beautiful boats and cover views.

The new owners Brendan Lake and Tiffany Lee are doing great things with the Osprey. The food is great! The live music they have from time to time is excellent! And the view is like no other! I recommend anyone I know to go here for lunch or dinner!

We had a great meal here while on vacation in Maine. Food was good as well as service. I ordered the gnnochi with blackened chicken and my husband had the blackened haddock sandwich. Our small kids also enjoyed their linguine in a butter sauce. We got seated near the window so we had a nice view of the water. The setting is lovely and a short drive from the cottage we were renting. Call ahead for seating.

Dinner for a party of four was a pleasant surprise. Scallops with caramelized onions, very fresh and perfectly cooked snow peas, and potatoes were perfectly prepared. Mussels and fried shrimp were also prepared very well. Wait staff was very attentive and accommodating. This was an improvement over prior experiences at this restaurant. We were told there is a new chef. This may be a consideration when taking into account prior reviews.

Love everything about the Osprey restaurant! We live locally so it is very important to us to have a great restaurant near by that meets our high standards when family and friends are visiting. The menu is creative and always changing, and has something for all needs or wants: fabulous apps (love the Tai Shrimp Cakes, the mussels and the calamari!), pizzas, sandwiches and seafood tacos, yummy salads, creative entrees, and awesome specials. Prices are very reasonable and portions are ample! We will be sad when the summer season comes to an end, but will drive a little further to the Roadhouse, also owned and run by the same couple. Separate from this review, but very important to the diners and boat owners "from away", it would behoove the owner of the marina and this building to spruce up the interior of the restaurant....long overdue.

2014 new chef, new owner, new staff. Everything has been excellent. Food very good and still reasonably priced.

Fabulous location. Nice but small bar area - unfortunately in the high season it's crowded with transient yachtspeople discussing the restaurants on St Bart's. I'm sure they find this corner of Maine crude and primitive. They are owned by the same people as Montsweag Farm on Rt 1, but they now have their own chef and management - the menu is much smaller than Montsweag, with I'm sure a few bucks thrown in for the yachting surcharge, but it's all very good - paring down the menu to what you can execute well is to be commended, although some will think there is not enough variety. And yes, we also got hit with an unexpected (and not stated anywhere on the menu, nor announced by the server) order splitting charge. Now I can buy that if you're trying to cheap it out and buy only one item for two people, but we had separate, and not cheap appetizers, drinks, and didn't feel we could eat two main courses, so we split one and... All minor annoyances. We go back a lot. It's also a great place to come by (small) boat.

We went to the Osprey 4 or 5 times and were not disappointed. The lobster pizza was different and interesting - very tasty. If I were to make it at home I would put lots more lobster and perhaps some mussels but it was still a good and different pizza. My husband had the chowder each time and liked it very much. The bloody mary special was excellent. On other visits we had the nachos, the lobster fritters (so good!!) with a spicy tartar sauce, fish tacos and tuna tacos were also very good. We had delicious gin drinks with a wonderful basil and cucumber mix recommended by our waitress. I agree with the other reviewer that said they need ac! The tables on the porches with views are great but I don't think I would like sitting in the inner room, it seems very separate from the view. They have done a great job and I read a glowing review in the newspaper in maine but nowhere did they mention the chef's name - what a shame! Not to give credit to those in the kitchen, bad bad reviewer@#@&$. :):) I did find the name of the chef working on one of the nights we were there and he certainly deserves accolades for his work at the Osprey this summer. His name is Drew Maykuth and we compliment him on his efforts. Thank you! We'll be back next summer.

If you go, best be for the waterfront location. I don't suggest you go for the food or the service.

I've been to the Osprey in Robinhood Cove close to a dozen times and would give more stars except for 1 thing: They need air conditioning or at least fans! I feel for the poor staff as the area near the kitchen is stifling, and the patio on a warm summer evening isn't much better. That aside, I continue to return. Twice in this last visit. The view is world class over Robinhood Marina with beautiful sailboats, and assistance at the dock if you come by boat. There is plenty of parking for cars as well. There is a bar for folks just looking to socialize, but it's the food that takes center stage. Check the special board as you come in, and although I'm sure the non seafood is good, get the seafood! It's as good as it gets. My favorite ever is the pan seared scallops: they fix it with varying seasonings and sides, but oh so fresh every time. The wedge salad is a bit tart. My husband loves whatever shell fish combination they are making (on linguini or otherwise), and the fish and chips are good and not over battered. We've had dessert once, and it was excellent, but they make an apple fritter kind of thing with cinnamon ice cream and I recommend that over any old favorites.

New chef in 2012, very inventive. His skills with flavors and spices are very good. Wide menu, try the calamari with coconut and marinated onions! Superb. The pizzas which were fabulous in the past were a little dry.

An average experience. Clam chowder very thick and uninspiring. Lobster Caesar amateurishly prepared. Tips of romaine--the kind you toss out. Not special dressing Baked halibut with a chemical taste in batter. No air conditioning. Lots of kitchen smoke. And surprised by the litter and garbage strewn about outside, side of building. Needs a good cleaning, new carpet, and paint job.

Located right on the waters of Georgetown in a cozy Maine-style setting, The Osprey is a great place for a casual lunch or a classy dinner. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly and the food is great quality. At my last visit, my friend had the lobster macaroni and cheese which was flawless and I had a tasty salad with very fresh grilled salmon. If you're looking for authentic Maine cuisine, this is the place to go. I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time because the restaurant is quite small.

It's hard not to like a place like the Osprey. The setting overlooking the bay is spectacular, the atmosphere is casual and the food is above average...at least that was our experience based on one visit. My wife had the scallops which were perfectly done, and I had short ribs with goat cheese polenta...very tasty. While our drinks were a bit watery, it wasn't enough to mar our evening. We'll keep the Osprey on our list.
