What a wonderful experience! Beautiful location, wonderful innkeepers, and a delicious breakfast. Coveside is a true gem! Highly recommend!
Perfectly quiet, relaxing, and pleasant way to spend a weekend in Maine. The owners were very nice and very accommodating. It's a great place to be able to 'get away'. About 15min drive down winding roads to the nearest city. Rooms are full of natural sunlight, and breakfast cooked each morning is delicious.
It was everything we hoped for, and much more! The hosts were very friendly and knowledgable; got a truly amazing dinner recommendation. The room was beautiful, the bed superb! One of the highlights was the extraordinary breakfast! No words. Met a lovely couple who have been coming back 15 years. That in and of itself says everything. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we wanted to book another night on our return, but alas, it was fully booked, as right it should be. Looking for an excuse to go back ASAP.

Five Islands Lobster Co

Simply the best outdoor seafood dining. I enjoy the Jenny Special, a haddock sandwich topped w/ a crab cake. The tartar sauce is very good. Not quite on topic but the public address system to announce when your food order is ready for pickup is also a purely Maine experience.
An experience in and of itself. The setting is beautiful, even if it is just picnic tables on a dock. Lobsters are cheap and delicious, and there are lots of other things to order (the salmon sandwich looked great). Bring your own tablecloth, appetizers, and wine/beer. The folks yelling the order numbers gets a little tiresome, but that's a minor issue. The ice cream afterwards was also a treat, and cheap to boot. The Yellow Brick Road is yummy.
This place is as good as it gets for lobster. Sweet meat and the prices aren't horrible. Although some local people are complaining, as a New Englander, it gets a lot worse than what they're charging at Five Islands. It's the authentic Maine lobster shack experience you're paying for. Go down to Kennebunk and they're charging three times what Five Islands is at lobster shacks there. Go to any downtown Portland restaurant and forget it. This place is the real deal. It's our annual trip. The view is unbeatable, as well.

Okay, I was kind of torn about how many stars to give the Osprey. The food is very good and the view is great. I first ate here a long time ago and remember it being fancier then; the decor is still nice, but at least for lunch, no tablecloths, etc. (Which was fine with us.) My only problem is that on our most recent visit, the waitress neglected to tell us that side dishes were $2 each. TWO BUCKS for a tiny dish of cole slaw?!? Maybe she made a mistake charging us, but either way they lose a star for that. She also charged us $2 for a different side dish which sounded like it came with the entree as well. Enjoy your meal but check your bill well!
Delicious food, drink and accommodating staff! We recently stopped by The Osprey for lunch with our baby and two dogs. We were able to eat outside at a lovely picnic table overlooking the marina. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. While we waited for our order we had sumptuous bloody Marys with oyster shooters - it was hard to select from the intriguing cocktail programme. The bartender also had a selection of house infused liquors, which looked delicious. The rim of the glass was a delicious spicy concoction. For lunch we had the salmon fish tacos with cilantro mayo (wonderfully fresh, and tangy) and the five islands pizza (lobster, brie, and scallions) which was light, flaky, fresh and flavorful. All in all this is a great restaurant with delicious selections and an amazing view. I'd give it a Michelin star if the guide came to Maine (worth a special trip)!
Cute little spot. Stopped in here on the way to an event -- I'm always a sucker for a restaurant with an ocean view. The service was a bit slow but my pizza -- a caprese pizza with balsamic vinegar drizzled over it -- was so good it made up for it!
