Fast, Fresh, Clean and great value! $4.60 2 eggs, toast, home fries & coffee. If you're driving from there to someplace else and it's food time....Dave's is a quick skip off the hwy. Glad I ventured over.

American cuisine in a typical New England diner. Plain surroundings but great food at bargain prices. Staff and regular clients are friendly. Scrambled eggs were light and fluffy (your choice of style). Bacon was nicely done (soft or crispy, your choice). French toast was nice and eggy (you can have pancakes instead). Home fries were nicely cooked (you can have pan or deep fried, or hash browns). Coffee was top notch.

The limited and spaced-out, sparse reviews leave much to be desired. Are you kidding me!! This is classic, less than spectacular dive, without the bang for the buck. The tattooed, tie-dyed waitress was UNFRIENDLY during a busy breakfast service. "Do you want menus?" was the first words out of her pursed lips. Really? We were on the verge of walking out when a younger, very friendly wait staff came and took our order. How long for hash and eggs? Try almost 30 minutes. Was not to die for and will not be returning.

Have been on the road for over 30 days through 7 States and 5 Provinces and this has by far been one of the best breakfast by far and we have eaten in some pretty swanky places. Steak and Eggs were outstanding as was the Bacon and Eggs and outstanding value! 2 meals and coffees for under $18 - you must go here!

On your way to Augusta (from 95 South), be sure to stop in here for breakfast. Great food, good service, good prices! They asked how I would like the bacon cooked as well as the home fries - pretty amazing.

Normally I love breakfast here..went last weekend and they charged me for a biscuit rather than an English muffin and then they burned the crap out of it. Would have told the waitress but she never came back. Hubby and i both felt sick within 1/2 hour. Not good since it took us 45 minutes to get our food. Sad...i normally love this place.

We decided to stop for a lunch break at Dave's Diner in Gardiner, which is a roadside breakfast and lunch restaurant located south of town on US 201. It was around 1:15PM and we figured we had to get something to eat since we knew that most of mom & pop diners in New England close up at 1PM or 2PM. This is an old school style roadside diner (established 1-29-2005) which has counter stool seating in the front and a dining room with booths and tables. We sat ourselves and grabbed menus to look at. The place serves up breakfast (all day) and lunch until 2PM and open for dinner on Friday evenings for prime rib & fresh haddock. The menu offerings consist of the typical American diner fare including eggs, omelets, pancakes, French toast, Belgiam waffles, homemade sausage gravy, sandwiches, clubs, wraps, soup, salads, comfort entrees (liver & onions, meatloaf, country fried steak, fried shrimp, fried haddock, crab cakes, chicken tenders, spaghetti), and desserts (puddings, pies, cake, ice cream). The prices here are very reasonable, most plates & entrees $4.29-$7.49. For lunch, I ordered the Country Fried Steak ($7.29) served with choice of potato, vegetable, & bread. The Country Fried Steak had a thick crispy breading with soft chopped steak covered in a savory sausage cream gravy. The Sweet Potato Fries were hot & crispy and not greasy. The side of Cole Slaw was crunchy and creamy with shredded cabbage, red cabbage, and carrots. The soft chewy dinner roll with butter was warm. My friend ordered a Hot Dog ($1.99) with chips & dill pickle spear and a Coffee ($1.15). The New England style hot dog bun and frank were both grilled nicely and the side of ruffled potato chips was standard. As for the service, it took while to be waited on since the dining room was clearing out as we arrived, but things were good once we ordered our food. The check total for lunch for two came out to under $12 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food was not fancy, but tasted very good and the price was right.

We stopped on our way up from Boston to Acadia for a quick lunch. We pulled up and the sign said they were closed since it was 2:05pm and they close at 2pm. It was raining pretty hard so the hostess came out and told us they could still serve us. The service was fantastic, very personal and very helpful. The variety was awesome and breakfast at 2pm was really great. I had one of the specials with eggs, corn beef hash, toast and it was very good. The coffee was classic diner coffee as well, enjoyable. My wife got the biscuit and gravy and it was huge! She shared some of it with me and it was great. Total with two coffees was $15. It was a great experience and I'd love to go back if we are ever in the area again.

Try the western club sandwich! -- you won't be disappointed. Friendly service and free wifi make this an ideal diner experience.

The price is right but the quality is so so. I had the meatloaf sandwich, which might have been a mistake because all the specials were for breakfast items. Someone else order the sausage sub that I would highly recommend you do not order. They chop up the sausage and it is more a sub roll with a couple pieces of sausage and peppers. The only reason this place isn't 2 stars is the price, go to A1 if you want diner food in Gardiner.
