Much better than a year ago when we gave it 3 stars. It's now easily the best pizza in Falmouth, Yarmouth, and Freeport. Pizza is fresh, thin. Cheese and sauce are slightly tangy and very tasty. Our large with mushroom and pepperoni was a bit too watery (too much sauce) so they graciously comped that and thanks us for the feedback. Only other feedback would be to have bread an olive oil at the table -- the rolls they gave out were cold and a bit on the dry side and just came with butter. Note that the pic is of an equally hard roll from over a year ago... We will be back.

This pizza house does pizza right, we have tried the other items on the menu but it's the pizza folks that really shines here, so we don't bother with the rest. The service is always a little spotty and the place is a little too noisy for us old folks. So....here's what we do, after we're seated we immediately order our pizza (we know exactly what we want) and a couple of beers and a couple of waters. When she/he brings our pizza we ask for the check and pay. Then we enjoy our meal and stay as long as our ears can stand the din of screaming and running around children. Works every time. Great place for a good pizza......that's it.

I love the pizza here! We tried the Grecian and it was great...spinach, sausage and feta. The sauce is chunky and fresh and the pizza is cooked in a brick oven to perfection. The service was friendly and fast and the restaurant has to be the nicest pizza place around. I always look forward to trips to Falmouth to grab one of their amazing Pizzas!

We were totally disappointed on our last visit to Ricetta's. In fact, it was so disappointing, it will be our last visit. We took our kids there last week on a Monday evening and learned that it was a buffet night. Our kids were excited, but my wife and I only wanted salads, so that was fine. After we were seated, it took the waitress about twenty minutes to circle back and ask if we wanted anything to drink. The kids ordered lemonade and we ordered waters. Another 20 minutes lapsed before we saw our drinks. We asked the waitress if we could put our salad orders in (for fear of losing her again), and the kids went over to the buffet to get their pizza. Two trips later and a third trip for dessert, the kids had finished their dinners and we hadn't seen our salads yet. We told the waitress that we were pressed for time so please pack our salads to go when they're ready. A couple of minutes later, she arrived with our salads in to-go boxes and we left. When we got home (a five-minute drive) our salads were so soggy that they could have only been gotten from the salad bar. They were inedible. It was the absolute worst experience. We've had other tough experiences with Ricetta's (wrong order on take-out, missing sides on take-out), but this was really bad. I am sorry to write this review, but there are other great options nearby (Flatbread, Otto's) that are really terrific and worth the trip.

Please don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees. I love richettas. I have been to portland pie , Romeos and pats pizza and richettas is my favorite. They have some good strong beers on tap and the pizza is great. My wife is not a pizza eater and I love the fact the menu has other good options besides pizza. Even if you are 60 years old you get carded at portland pie in acarborough which is crap. So, i am from scarborough but I gladly drive to falmouth instead of getting carded. At richettas I always order more than I can eat so I have leftover pizza I can reheat in the toaster oven. I am 53 and if the bartender cannot tell I am over 50 the bartender is retarded. They must have been busted for serving underage drinkers but that should not be my problem. Anyways richettas pizza is better . The menu is great in most pizza places if you do not order pizza you are out of luck. Great restauraunt. I do not ever go for the buffet because my idea of going out is that someone should serve you. I can serve myself at home and if I am going to serve myself I figure I might as well cook it and cleanup as well.

Pizza here is VERY good. We came for the lunch buffet and the variety was pretty good. The service was pretty lax though, but we didn't mind as much since we could serve ourselves the food, but keeping drinks coming was not possible. If you want some really good pizza, this is a good place to come-we will return ;)

Ordered delivery for my office for years. Called today to find they will only deliver for orders over 75. Lost my business. (btw 2 pizzas are around 60)

I went out with my husband and toddler here on a Saturday evening last winter. While the food was decent, it was not worth the 2 hours we spent at the restaurant from start to finish. We order a pizza and a large salad to split. The waitress took forever to even get our drink order and we ended up ordering dinner at that point too. Then it was as if they had made the salad right away and left it out waiting for the pizza to finish. The salad wasn't crisp and was lukewarm when we received it with the pizza. The pizza was pretty good, thin crust and fresh toppings. At the end of our meal, we needed a to go box and the waitress took so long we ended up going up to the take out counter to ask for one. Overall, service needed to be quicker, especially if you call it good for kids. My 1.5 year old barely made it to the end.

Fairly typical family place, although they are missing a few menu items (despite a huge menu), like stuffed shells and manicotti. The recipes are heavy toward "old school," with a lot of cream based sauces (do people still eat that heavy?). Still, they have create-your-own pasta and pizza, including wheat pasta, which was a welcome option. My son had the cheese calzone, which was just about decent an edible. He enjoyed it, which is a big plus. The wheat penne with pesto sauce (and veggies) was mediocre, although I ate all of it, and I can't say it was bad- just average "American" pasta sauce. My wife's pasta with meat sauce was also just below average, with overcooked pasta as well. Side salad was the highlight, with a tasty balsamic dressing. Overall- two stars. Couple of issues to management: first, ask your teenage bus boys to clean the tables more often than once per hour. L-A-Z-Y. They stayed dirty for a while, which is a tad gross (and please train them to actually clean, which doesn't mean a nasty-towel-wipedown). Second, if the place is three quarters empty, don't tell me that I need to wait five minutes. Seat us immediately. Third, I had to plunge the toilet myself. Not cool.

I have to say I was very disappointed with Ricetta's both times I've been there recently. The kids menu is a joke. My kids pizzas were bland and burnt. The "Mac and cheese" was nothing more than the leftover noodles they had sitting around and a pungent smelling mix off leftover cheeses they mixed in with it. My teenager put it most adeptly, "It smells like an old, dirty gym sock!" What made it worse was the complete lack of service. I had to stand up and flag down the waitress to get served half an hour after we received our incorrect drink order. What bothered me the most is I had been a longtime customer and spent most of the ride there telling my wife and kids how great the food was! Hoping this was just a one time thing I ordered some calzones a couple weeks later for pickup. I called ahead and was told the standard 15-20 minutes. I showed up 25 minutes later to a quiet restaurant and had to wait another half hour! Once I got home I discovered that neither calzone was cooked through and the sauce was missing from one if them! In short, I would not recommend them to anyone, nor will I return there myself!

After enjoying a very nice day at the little league all star tournament we decided to check out ricettas pizza. The pizza at this place is all-star level and their creativity is strong. We tried the spinach, feta and sausage pizza which was excellent but we also had a plain cheese to gauge it all. Both were excellent choices and the waitstaff was very prompt and polite. If you are seeking a great brick oven pizza this place is worth the visit. It is located in Falmouth so it's a bit out of the way for me but enjoyed this thoroughly.

Nice place. Large and airy, but sectioned so you don't feel like you're sitting in a barn. Prices are very fair and the portions are very generous. Gnocchi appetizer is delicious. Gnocchi and pink sauce are made in house. Good pizza. Wide range of sauces, cheeses, and toppings. Nothing out of the ordinary but nicely applied and perfectly proportioned. Spacious, spotless restrooms. Plenty of free parking. Fabulous staff!

Oh, Ricetta's. I remember back in the day when your South Portland location was THE place to go for gourmet pizza. It was such a treat to visit that coveted location. Now, the SoPo resto is shut down and I live closer to your Falmouth venue. Your pizza is still fresh and delicious, but too expensive for my liking. We had a Dine Around deal for the Falmouth location, which is what brought us there. As it was in the 90s, Ricetta's is definitely still a treat. Unfortunately, I can't make it my "go to" pizza place because the prices are too steep.

I have always liked their takeout pizza, although it was and remains over priced. Went to dinner there recently, and was disappointed. 3 salads and one 12 inch pizza for 47 dollars. The salad sucked a ***k and the pizza was served cold. Stay away

I LOVE the pizza at Ricetta's, especially the thin yet tasty crust. I usually get a plain pizza, so I can appreciate the basic elements of it. I have also had the ravioli with marinara sauce, which was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed eating the leftovers the next day. The rolls are to die for (Apologies for the necessary exaggeration). I wish Ricetta's were closer to where we live!

Ever since I was a kid growing up in Falmouth, I've been eating Ricetta's pizza. I've travelled all over the states and been to Italy twice, and I can confidently state that Ricetta's makes the best pies I've ever had! Sure, since I'm from Maine the comfort food factor plays a role here. Plus, I prefer Northern Italian to New York or Chicago style. But when it comes to pizza (my favorite food), this place takes the cake in my book. Check it out!

I am kind of with Kendra L on this one. I'd recommend staying with take out. The pizza is good. The service, at least when I have been there, is painful. It is as though they hand out cloaks of invisibility at the front door, and they seem to work very well, at least on me.

Headed here on a Tuesday night with 7 people. The place is dead slow and the one person running the delivery and hostess duties makes us wait to set up a table. My teenage son fell asleep waiting. We were 20 seconds from walking out the door. Once seated, we actually switch tables since they tried to set us up in the back and didn't even set enough places, already forgot that we said 7, not 6? we did get a nice server who got our drink orders quickly and got us our bill right when we were looking for it. This place has so much potential, but fails in some basic areas: the pizza buffet had a lot of choices and there were a couple different salads. i just wished that they didn't already dress the salad and just left it on the side. I think I'll just stick to take-out here except two pizzas and a salad for over $40 is a tough to swallow.

Pizza has good ingredients and only so so crust as their ovens are not hot enough to cook the bottom crisp enough for real thin crust. The minestrone is a thicker type (no broth) but very good with not overcooked veggies. The bread is rolled pizza dough, so it is heavy but good for the soup. The chicken parm was crispy with plenty of good mozzerella, good sauce, but the penne was way overcooked. Barely could get the pasta on a fork as it fell apart. Bartender service was very good with very frosty glasses for your beers.

Ricetta's is the newer version of the original in South Portland (on Western Ave), and it's good. Though I have not been to the original, I have heard good things about that one, too. When you walk in, you are greeted with the sight of a well decorated Italian style pizza place. Simple, tasteful, and a little noisy - not too loud, but it's obvious that people are having a good time. A good sign in an eating establishment. I went there on Saturday night of a holiday weekend, and we were seated immediately - that's good, too, though I expect that it does sometimes get pretty full and you might have to wait a bit. The service was good, quick, and friendly. Not the biggest beer selection, but passable, and hey, it's an Italian restaurant, not a beer bar. I am fairly certain that the wine list would be decent, too, though we did not have any. I got a calzone, and it was great. Very pleased with it, and the price was quite reasonable for a sit down establishment. Pretty good bread. If you get a pasta entree or something like that, you'll get soup or a salad, too. My friend's food looked good, too. She seemed happy with it. I hear the pizza is ranked the best in Maine, and while I've only seen a small part of Maine, I can believe it. It looked like good pizza, and I'll make my judgment based on the food that I did get. Not only was the food and atmosphere good, but the company could not have been better, either. I have to write that, as I think she'll eventually read this :)

This place is AMAZING! When you walk in the door you are immediately greeted by friendly faces. The bartenders are super cool & the waitstaff is hard-working and efficient. My favorite pizza is ANY of the pizza. The buffet is out of this world and has quite the eclectic selection of fresh, delicious pies. I LOVE the buffalo Gorgonzola pizza. They start by layering a homemade Gorgonzola sauce and top it with buffalo chicken (I sub the chicken for mushrooms and eggplant) and then a bit of mozzarella and buffalo sauce! YUM! You can also request your OWN pizza for the Buffet, just ask your server or one of the pizza guys behind the line. They are a lot of fun to talk to and joke around with. Besides pizza, there are a couple of soups to choose from, pasta and fruit salads, and freshly prepared salads. Depending on the day of the week they will put homemade cannolis on the buffet also! And it's all about 10$!!! Amazing! One of my many favorites when I'm not going for the buffet is the scrumptious Tuscan seafood stew which is always fresh and full of clams, haddock, mussels and calamari in a yummy white wine, butter sauce with a side of thick Tuscan bread to soak up the broth. Another choice of mine would be the pollo sapporito consisting of Penne with a creamy Gorgonzola sauce, wild mushrooms and chicken (I get a mix of veggies instead of the meat & they are always accommodating at no charge). Now, DRINKS. They have a killer peach sangria made to order that I could drink all day, everyday. Martinis are always full and the bartenders will make you anything and everything whether or not it's on the menu. Did I mention they do not skimp on their pours?! - *BONUS* ! Great staff, better food and even better drinks. You won't be disappointed!!

Whenever I come to Maine to visit, I usually eat here. Pizza buffet is phenomenal as far as quality and selection. This place is a gem. Service is always very good. Don't let the few negative reviews steer you away. I wish that I could get pizza this good in Colorado.

Awesome place! The server was very friendly. He came several times to check up on us! Very friendly prices!! Meal for 4 people was under 40 including appetizers for two of the dishes. Food was well cooked.

Stopped by after hearing about their lobster ravioli on the radio. It's always something I'm craving! Service was fine on a quieter Wednesday evening. Ordered the lobster ravioli and a side cesear salad. A bit too much dressing but nothing terrible. The ravioli was better than expected. Very generous with the lobster! The sauce wasn't overly creamy an the pine nuts gave a nice crunch to the dish. Enjoyed my leftovers for lunch the next day. Will have to stop in again before they take the lobster off the menu.

As we were out to get some lunch on the day, the wife and I stumbled in to this brick oven style pizzeria for the all-you-can-eat pizza buffet. Now, it usually is not too hard to lose with a buffet style pizza smorgasbord this was a pretty good one in general due to the fact that they had a lot of different selections. These were not your normal pepperoni and cheese variety where they had some margherita style pies and some healthier options with some spinach or portabello mushroom goodies. The only drawback, as is with any pizza buffet is the length of time that the pies sit in the window. I think some of the onions started to recook on one of the thin crust pizzas where it looked like shriveled up and translucent shavings of onion. But, as also expected, the popular pies were the ones that they were rotating and when it was fresh, it was delicious. The servers were a little inattentive and paying more attention to flirting with and hamming it up with the kitchen crew then refilling our drinks and delivering the check but other than that, if you are looking for a quick bite to eat and at a fairly inexpensive price, then try out Ricetta's in Falmouth. Now, as for the price of the pies, as a lot of the Falmouth restaurants, they jack the price up a bit where a single pie can run you over 20 dollars if you are looking for takeout for the family. So, a little pricey for dinner but the ambiance is a pretty nice one for a pizza joint!

Excellent food. Excellent service. The pizza is top notch. The atmosphere needs work however. The screaming from the cooks in the kitchen was a little much.

We've been coming to Ricetta's for over 15 years. They have GREAT pizza! It takes on an amazing flavor when it's cooked in the brick oven. We request thin crust and cooked a little well done and it comes out amazingly light and crispy. For pizza sauce, they use a natural (sometimes chunky) tomatoes that are very tasty and un-fooled around with. They do offer other Italian dishes such as pastas and calzones, but we go there just for the pizza. The atmosphere is nice, it's open-concept; the only downfall to that is, when they are busy, it can be very loud. For an adult dinner out, I'd avoid Monday nights as its "kid's eat free" night and gets really crazy. They also offer delivery and takeout. They have a FULL bar there, so you can get beer on tap or a vodka tonic. If it's just 2 (or 4) of you, we recommend sitting in the bar area because it feels cozier. Tip: Try the Tiramisu- It's delicious!! And perfect share size for two.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
