I was told the place was under new management, so we wanted to check it out. People seem to like the salad bar, but there wasn't much of interest to me; the baked stuffed haddock was good, as were the appetizers. But an annoying fly kept us company; one of my tablemates asked for some Mrs. Dash (whoever SHE is), which never came; nor the slice of lemon requested for the water. And my friend's "medium well-done" steak was medium rare. He ate the best parts of it because we're too frightened to ever return food unless we can see the cook.

You cannot beat the triple lobster that has just been reduced to 19.95 from 21.95 as the lobster season closes. Laura and all the other staff are exceptional. I am a regular there and they have always come through for me service hot food, good portions and never had room for dessert, place is 2-3 years old and still looks as new and as clean as when it opened.... Props to Taylor a wonderful hostess. You guys are the best....

Great little place with a variety of food and seafood. The haddock chowder was great.

We came for a birthday lunch so there were quite a few of us. The waitress was great. Fast and very friendly. The salad bar was fresh but the salad plates were small. Like, really small. The onion rings and french fries were good. The fried shrimp was bland and my burger was over cooked but the place still managed to exceed my expectations. I'm not sure I would ever go back, but if I was in the area again, I might consider it.

Mike is the new owner and boy what a great change! Four of us went to dinner for my husband's birthday last evening. All of us loved it. Everyone who worked in the restaurant came over to sing happy birthday to my husband. The restaurant gave him a complimentary Queenie cupcake and ice cream. Her cupcakes are homemade and fabulous according to my husband. He ate the whole thing and didn't share! We all had seafood and it was fresh and delicious. Our friends raved about it too. Mike did a good job of remodeling also. We will be back soon and I have already told some friends of the great changes! Thanks for making my husband's birthday a very good one! Amy B.

My sister and I treated our Dad here for lunch yesterday for Father's Day. He had open heart surgery this winter so he wanted lunch somewhere there was a salad bar, which brought us here. He was very happy with his salad bar & steamers. My Farmer's Burger (burger topped with a friend egg & bacon) was good & cooked medium well as asked because I like my meat dead. It was a bit difficult to eat because it was ginormous. Smaller buns, people. My sister order her burger medium but then changed her mind to medium well but wasn't happy with hers. The outside of the burger was burnt. The french fries were delicious and they had the best coffee, I guzzled down three cups. The waitress was very friendly although there was an grumpy, owner-type, looking man wandering around the dining room with a concerned look on his face the entire time, which was rather strange. Maybe he was upset to be working on Father's Day, or maybe he saw my last review :) I still have not revisited the (pointless) bar section and have no plans to. Not many people do.

It was late on a Thursday night. My family and I were heading to our house in Lovell, Maine (home of the great Center Lovell Inn). It was 8:45 PM. We were hungry and a bit concerned that we might not find an open place to dine as we drove the remaining hour or so to Lovell. And then we saw the illuminated sign of the Stone Ridge Restaurant -- that was brightly open. We were fans before our first bite. Perhaps the old adage, "hunger is the best sauce", applies here. The three of us enjoyed a clean, fresh, if not hugely varied salad bar (how about some sunflower seeds, tofu, or hard boiled egg for the vegetarians looking for protein?). We all commented on its freshness. The menu was a standard American one -- with steak, seafood, burgers and sandwiches, soup, and a few main courses like meat loaf -- not hugely varied -- but had a nice selection of Italian food this evening. My wife savored her crock of onion soup. I absolutely loved my lasagna. And my sister enjoyed her sweet potato fries (that I too sampled and enjoyed). We were joined in the restaurant by a couple of other late-night diners. We weren't bothered in the least by the bar scene off in the back. We'd come back again even if it weren't the only place we were likely to find open.

As a former employee of this restaurant, and a local to Cornish, I have A LOT to say. I am not disgruntled, I was not fired. I left because the new owner disgusts me. He is a former McDonalds manager, he actually USES McDonalds chicken breasts, and tries to sell them using words like "fresh" and "local." He is a liar. I watched the "fresh" produce come to us with mold on it. He treats his waitstaff, cooks, and bartenders in a way that is UNACCEPTABLE, and is borderline assault. He doesn't stop at just the normal restaurant banter, he is openly sexist. He is not a local and he certainly does not act like one. In fact Mike kicks out locals unjustly, and the most of the town is boycotting the establishment. He is a tyrant and a bad business owner. I will never set foot in this establishment again, and I would like anyone who is considering it to stop, turn west, and go to Bayhaven or Krista's. You will get more food, from quality people, who care about you and your patronage.

We ate here tonight. We were informed as we were sat that 2 large parties had just put their order in and our food might take a bit longer to come out. We placed our drink order and apps, we were told to enjoy the salad bar. The salad bar was low but all fresh and they quickly replenished the salad bar including real bacon bits and a great Apple Cider Vinaigrette. We were brought a small loaf of bread with a tasty honey butter. Our apps were out a bit after we finish our salads but not as long as were were expecting. Our app sampler plate was piping hot showing it didn't sit under heat lamps but was fresh out of the fryer. Our meals were also piping hot and delicious. My husband had the Fisherman's Platter which was plenty of food! I had Broccoli Chicken Alfredo, although the Alfredo sauce was a bit thin it was full of flavor! We found out the chef had put out almost 70 plates in 45 minutes, if they were all as hot and tasty as our food then that's a lot of happy guests! Well done Chef! The waitress apologized many times for the long wait but it really wasn't that long.

Update 8/2014- we heard this place was junder new ownership and had improved so we tried it again. We found it to be much improved from our last visit!i had twin lobsters which were very yummy and my husband has the fried fisherman's platter. He enjoyed that it did jot have as much batter on it like some other places make it. I tried a couple bites and it was quite good. We would definitely come back!

The shrimp scampi and the haddock both tasted old and probably frozen at one point. Not impressed, especially considering this place is in Maine and should have access to fresh seafood.

The staff is wonderful. Owner does not support or back up staff. The owner miscommunicates information. When booking rooms owner will change price - bait and switch. Rooms we thought were clean until we pulled back the sheets on the bed and found 2 cockroaches. Thank goodness there were 2 beds. The restaurant is very inexpensive - food is ok. No manager on site 24 hours, Wait staff while there does everything from answer phones to reservations for rooms. We were stuck because of an event all rooms elsewhere were booked. Now we know why this motel was not.

Stopped in after reading yelp reviews when we were in town for the night, and our expectations were exceeded! We were only about 45 minutes before closing, but they pulled out all the stops. The salad bar was incredible, fresh and delicious. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was super flavorful- and huge!- and my fiancée loved his lobster roll and sweet potato fries. Beer was cold, dessert was delicious, and the service was super fast and friendly. Wish we lived closer; we'd be regulars! Cannot recommend it enough.

Great place to stop on the way back to Boston from Maine! The food was good, service was fast, really pleasant and very accommodating. Not to mention you get a ton of food for an inexpensive price. We will be back!

I hit this place on a Saturday night and it was packed. I was pretty psyched when we only had to wait 15 mins...I had a four year old and a six year old that were starving so you know I needed to feed them and fast. Oh, and not to mention the girlfriend who was chewing off the other ear she was so hungry too. Kids had hot dogs and fish bits. Fish bits were awesome, all white meat, my daughter loved them. I got the seafood plate, good amount of food. My only complaint is tha they use those tiny shrimp with no flavor, the scallops were decent, and a few of my clams were sandy. It wasn't bad but far from the best I've eaten. My girl friend got the scampi, it was ok, I tried it. She seemed to enjoy it more then I did. The other thing they have is a slad bar. The selection is limited but the produce was fresh. I'm going to give this place three stars...if I was in the area I would hit it again.

Went on a Friday night at 6:30 with 6 adults and 3 kids. Seated immediately! Service was exceptional. Food was even better. Our table had burgers, seafood, steak tips, kids meals, and prime rib. Far and away the best though was the all you can eat beef ribs for $13. They were melt off the bone and in your mouth. The first (and only) plate I had was huge. There was so much I couldn't manage a second plate. If these aren't on the normal menu it would be a crime! In an area with few options Stone Ridge stood out like a sore thumb... A wonderful delicious sore thumb!

Great place! Seeking family friendly dining after tubing at King Pine and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Laura, our fabulous waitress, was super friendly and attentive to our family of 4. Huge portions--husband's lobster roll stuffed generously. Other tasty meal was my son's fried haddock (special)-fresh fish and light batter-huge portion. My daughter's "kid" cheeseburger was same size as adult's-cooked perfectly. Most meals/entrees include veggie or carb side and salad bar--nice option for families whose kids prefer raw veggies. Awesome desserts we tried were the Chocolate Bundt cake and Boston Pie cake- both served with generous dollops of whipped cream and chocolate sauce!
