I absolutely love this place. I work at a summer camp in the area and everyday off this is where I go for breakfast. The prices and the food are unbelievable and they have grilled muffins! Depending on what day it is it may be packed but it is worth it

This is our FAVORITE breakfast place in Maine! They have the best homemade donuts. Fresh bread muffins and great coffee. A must to go to in Maine.

One of my favorite spots for decades. The homemade goods are phenomenal. The breakfast specials are fantabakedstic with an emphasis on Maine. My favorite is the Irish Benedict. The only downside is that it's so popular, it gets crowded with a wait during tourist season. Hmm, I'm updating this review. I went today. There were no specials today. The service was slow, but tables empty. Before we finished our breakfast (1/2 hour before they close), they were putting chairs up on the tables. And the food wasn't that good:(

The home-made donuts and blueberry muffins were amazing. The service was super friendly. The actual meal was so-so. The portion size of the hash was small and the hollandaise sauce was store-bought goop. The crayon cups for the kids were the used hollandaise containers. I'd stick to the basics.

Chutes came highly recommended by multiple families we met at Point Sebago. It's just a minute off property, so we decided to try it out. WOW! Are we glad we did. The restaurant is small, so you may need to wait a little during peak weekend hours and the bakery sells out fast, so you'll need to arrive early if you're looking for bakery items. But trust me, this gem is worth the wait. There's a little toy box in the corner to keep young kids entertained while they wait for food. The waiter was super friendly and quick to offer a coffee refill and assist with napkins when my young son spilled his apple juice. And the food was amazing. Best bacon and country toast I've ever had. This place is exactly what you expect a Maine breakfast to be. We'll be back!!!

Life-affirming bacon and "Thick country" bread. Oh My God, I would have had my stomach pumped, just so I could eat the amazing breakfast there OVER and OVER again. Get the mini-platter, its really not small. Plenty of home-fries, tasty bacon, eggs and the most amazing Thick Country bread you have ever seen. They and the bacon are worth the price alone. Service was excellent. they accepted credit cards with ease and the food was served fast and hot. Once my stomach pump arrives in the mail, I am headed back to Chute's for an all day "mini-platter" marathon!

The service was terrible. It took 25 minutes to get our breakfast. They didn't refill coffee. Never came back to see if we needed anything. The food was fine but it was just eggs.

Fantastic, we started off with the best glazed donut we ever had - then I ordered the Irish Benedict (English Muffin must be homemade) so good! Service was fantastic - we only wish we would have found this place sooner - we will be back

It took us 30 minutes to get seated and it was another hour before we got our food. The food came and the bacon wasn't safely cooked, and the omelet was drowned in cheddar cheese to overcompensate for the almost raw bacon. It was subpar at best.

A great place for breakfast. Friendly service, Great cooked to ordered food. The breads are home made. Only been here for breakfast a few times. There are about eight or so tables in the dining area. On weekends it can be busy. Since i have only been for breakfast I can say the eggs are fresh, the hash is home made not canned! The pancakes are good size, the home fries are not greasy and they give you a good amount. Good smoked bacon, and the turkey sausages are awesome! If you are in the area try it you'll like it!

I'm surprised no one has written a review of this place yet. It seems to be a local institution, but one we just discovered. We went on a Saturday morning, and the place was jam-packed, but they were turning tables over pretty fast. But we never felt rushed. Since we went for breakfast, I'll base my review on only that, but they do offer lunch and dinner as well. Chute's is both a bakery and a cafe, so it offers some great baked goods to go along with your plates of eggs and sausage. The english muffin I had with my eggs and corned beef hash wasn't made there, but it was still way thicker than anything Thomas has ever put out and was perfectly griddled. Based on a suggestion of a friend, my wife tried the texas toast, and it was very satisfying - a thick slice of fresh baked bread toasted on the griddle. It leaves the bread much more moist than regular toast. The day we were there, they had about five different types of hash, but I went with their traditional corned beef, and it was perfectly executed, with a great blend of finely diced corned beef, potatoes and onions left on the griddle until crispy. The homefries are deep fried (I prefer grilled) but good. Great little place for breakfast! Maybe we'll try lunch or dinner next time.

I have nothing to say strongly one way or another about this restaurant. We ate breakfast here on a random summer Wednesday. The service was ok, the food was ok, the atmosphere was ok and the prices were ok. Thus, the three stars "A-OK" seems to be a fitting review. It seems like a safe place to go for breakfast where the food is going to be very consistent. Not quite bland, but certainly nothing exciting. I got a veggie omelet with all the veggies they offer - yes, even the jalapenos, which the server seemed to be shocked about. It came with homefries and toast - I opted for the homemade raisin toast which was nothing special - it was toasted bread with raisins in it. I also got hot tea. My total bill was about $10, so quite reasonable. Bottomline, I would come here again, but would probably get bored quickly.

If your wondering if you should give it a try YES YES YES!! This is a treat. Toast is amazing, wait staff is wonderful. Coffee is excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly. There is a reason why this place is busy. I hate waiting, however i will wait here. It is worth it. It is small inside which only adds to the whole experience. The best way to describe it... it is like having your grandmother who makes everything from scratch that morning, make you breakfast.

Friendly and courteous staff. Best pancakes I've ever eaten. Lovely owner who went out of her way to help when I forgot my wallet. Will be my go-to-breakfast place whenever I find myself in ME. If you live close, do yourself a favor and check it out!

This is the best breakfast place. It wins every time. If you're in town, going fishing on one of the lakes, visiting the kids at camp, skiing, whatever it is - go here for breakfast! My friends and I used to go here when we worked as waitresses at the nearby Migis Lodge, on Sebago Lake. On Sunday mornings we would rush through our breakfast shifts in order to make it to Chutes for a quick breakfast of our own, before serving lunch to the Migis guests. My mouth is watering even now thinking about Chute's homemade toast and omelettes. Absolutely delicious! Locally owned, great service, very busy on weekends (for a reason!)

I went there this morning while vacationing in Maine with my parents, wife and 16 month old son. We had been here before several years prior on a Saturday and had to wait quite awhile this morning though we were one of only 2 tables Ther service was quick and personable. He got everything right and was quick with milk for my always thirsty son I got the chutes platter which consisted of two eggs, home fries 6 pieces of bacon and two pancakes. I am on a diet so the bacon was a bit much but everything was fantastic. My mother got the pancakes with a two egg omlet which she enjoyed. My father and wife got mini breakfast platters with bacon, eggs, home fries and toast. My son loved the toast but didn't care for the pancakes at all but he is pretty particular about his pancakes always being mini eggo pancakes Overall it was great and we will be sure to go there again next summer

Average everything except the coffee (weak) and hash browns (tasted reheated). The sausage was quite good as was the french toast.

Donut french toast, need I say more? The chocolate chip pancakes were delicious as were the eggs, bacon and toast. The chocolate milk was incredible. Definitely get this. It's a small place but a great find.
