The Well at Jordan’s Farm

The Well at Jordan's Farm was my first farm to table experience, and I can't stop praising the restaurant. What an amazing experience! The atmosphere alone deserves five stars. Since we had a small party, we did not get to dine in the private gazebo but sat by the stools facing the "open" kitchen. There are two options on the menu; family style or a la carte. The food was very well done; we ordered the chicken and fish. Though, my personal favorite is the warm bread served at the beginning of the meal. It was so delicious that we had two refills! The honor system where you place cash in the chest adds an unique touch too. So does the pick your own flowers/bouquet adjacent to the restaurant. Not to mention, BYOB! Can't wait to be back with a larger gang and try out the private gazebos!
You can't get any closer to where your food comes from than at The Well. Located on Jordan Farm the chef creates always changing menus based on what's being harvested. The atmosphere is lovely - done in an intimate "shack" with the chefs or select a screened in gazebo. There are open air picnic tables too, but be warned the biting insects are often a nuisance. The food is delicious albeit a bit plain. It's honest good food. Well prepared and of course fresh. While nothing was disappointing I didn't give 5 stars because my meal wasn't outstanding or particularly memorable. The setting took the show.
Outdoor dining in summer Maine, rustic farm, locally owned and sourced = look no farther than here! Food is great but atmosphere is even better! Book the gazebo and get yourself to the outdoor fire pit, enjoy byob style beverages and soak in the scenery. Service is phenomenal! They even have a food coop so u can pay a fee and get a portion of their veggies every week! Cash only place so ATM before u come! Absolute hidden gem!

Homemade ice cream . The very best . Today they featured strawberry with fruit picked from local fields. Awesome ! We found this place just as we drove by. Just a look at the long line and we had to turn around and try this place. Are we glad that we stopped here. The homemade flavors were amazing. We went with the berries. The very best, can't imagine better.
Stopped in at the cafe on our bike ride and were pleasantly surprised by the selection of coffees, teas, pastries and sandwiches. We opted for some iced coffee, which was one of the best I have ever had, and muffins - which were delish. The gals working in the shop were really friendly, and helpful with their suggestions on what to order and even brought everything outside to us. Great service! What I loved most was the decor, the bright colors and the outside seating area with bistro tables and picnic benches. Such a cute setting and perfectly situated near multiple beaches. They also have an ice cream shop on the other side - which I look forward to trying this summer!
This place was surprisingly good! There's not an extensive lunch menu, but we got crab rolls and they were tasty and well-priced. The ice cream was pretty good, too!

It pains me to write this but..... New Chef - I was hopeful. We frequent the IBTS very often over the years. I loved it. Now, the menu is completely repurposed and while I tried to embrace the changes the quality and taste did not deliver. For example, I ordered the lobster dish. This dish came with an enormous potato cake (completely took over the plate); along with a sausage/corn combo - covered in gravy. The flavors were not well coordinated & the portion was too much. My husband had a pork shank dish. The pork was tasteless & dry, the accomanyment of pasta was bland and mysterious (& I consider myself qualified to determine spices and favors and couldn't taste any flavor) the Swiss chard (I think that's what it was) "ok". The dining room has been remodeled (looks nice), the service was GREAT. Sadly the food was marginal at best. I will try breakfast in a couple of days and probably write more. If my breakfast experience is similar to my dinner tonight - I will journey from the Cape to Portland (or so portland - David's 388) where there are a number of amazing culinary options are available. This was a real disappointment.
Not your average hotel restaurant. We ate both Breakfast and dinner at the Sea Glass. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Great selections on both menus and the biggest problem you will have is figuring out what to choose. The same hold true for their signature drink and wine menu. A vast selection to choose from! For breakfast I would recommend the crab cake & avocado benedict - to die for! If you're less adventurous, the Maine Blueberry Pancakes were also fantastic. For dinner the grilled and butter poached lobster gnocchi was a choice I didn't regret. Make sure to save room for dessert and try their unique Steamed Lemon Pudding! Great views with the ocean in the near distance and the beautiful grounds of the Inn By the Sea hotel.
Solid for dinner-great atmosphere and wine selection. I stayed at the inn by the sea over this past Labor Day weekend. Their restaurant, the sea glass was perfect spot for apps in the afternoon and a great lobster gnocchi and bottle of wine, whatever your preference. Had breakfast here the following morning, I grew up in Maine, so I'm a little lucky in the blueberry pancake sense, and yet was really impressed with the glasse's showing...

In my mind, there's not much better than a good lunch. I want to be able to go somewhere where I can get a good, hearty, healthy meal for a good price. This is what the Good Table does. I can tell where it gets it's name. The food isn't out if this world, but it's good. Dare I say, REALLY good. They have a large array of sandwiches... The pulled pork is excellent and the buffalo chicken wrap and lobster roll are for sure favorites. If this place knows how to do anything really well, it's the fries. They have regular fries, sweet potato fries, and onion rings- all of which are amazing. I'm a huge fan of the Good Table and will continue to frequent, as it's very close to my workplace. Good food for a good price- you really can't beat that!
Pros: Looks very elegant Cons: Staff is indifferent. Food took forever and service was sporadic to non-existent....we had a party of 8 and our breakfast came out over a 30 minute period...I never received a coffee refill until I asked....asked for Raspberry Pancakes, got Blueberry, my son ordered a coffee roll which came out 30mins after....side order of eggs came out 30 mins later...potatoes were cold.. If you are a yuppie or pretentious (picture sweater wrapped around neck) and money ISO object then come right in...if you want excellent food from a staff that care go to a local blue collar diner...and if you have kids, forget it.
I decided to try my first ever lobster roll here. The fries were crispy but the roll was mediocre and not toasted as per the menu states. The lobster was very fishy and almost unbearable to eat near the end. Definitely not worth the $18 price tag (which they don't list unlike other places we visited). The clam chowder was broth based instead of cream based so flavor wise it was alright but they should really specify this on the menu as I have only ever had cream based clam chowder and for the money, it was overpriced. My boyfriend tried the fish and chips and he said it was the worst fish and chips he's ever had. The fish had absolutely zero flavor to it. Also, service was very slow despite not being incredibly busy. We won't be eating here again as the food was mediocre and the lobster roll almost had me vomiting. Edit: had a lobster roll that was superior in every way imaginable to this one and was a few dollars cheaper. Won't be eating here again.

What a great little cafe and bar! They have a fantastic selection of beer. Lots of great seating choices (comfortable armchairs, sofas, wooden chairs and tables, etc). I needed a light lunch, so I ordered a caprese (tomato, mozzarella, and pesto) panini. Delicious! It was a rather large sandwich, so my husband uncomplainingly finished it off for me. We really enjoyed relaxing here for a couple hours.
I swear whenever I try to plan a meeting with someone, they are randomly closed. At least we now have CSalt as an alternative, but it's a completely different atmosphere.
I just moved into the neighborhood and had to check out The Local. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. There isn't a lot going on in Cape Elizabeth but this place could rival some of the Portland bars. They have a decent selection of beers and the wait staff were really good. I ended up getting the lamb burger with feta, tomato, olives.. very Mediterranean. It was very tasty too! This place doubles as the local cafe as well. I was told they get fresh bagels every morning and they also make some nice breakfast meals. I think everything is locally sourced too. I'll definitely be making this a regular stop.

Visited here while in the area staying down the street at the Inn by the Sea since this sits along the main road near Portland light and Fort William in a small IGA shopping plaza. This place may not look like much but their menu is loaded with not only pizza but Italian dishes and plenty of seafood selections. I just ordered a large Italian Sub and a small cheese pizza and it was pretty decent. Price was $15 bucks for the total and the staff was friendly. You can even eat in the place if you want as it is larger than it looks. Highly recommend.
Is it outstanding? My experience exceeded expectations. The man at the counter was cheerful and accommodating while we selected our meals. Several takeout orders came and went while we did so. Once we ordered (take out, a small Hawaiian and a moon doggy), he told us it would be about 15 minutes, which was accurate. I asked if they could throw in a side of hot sauce. They did. Overall, it was great. I'm writing this in part because I reject the rancor and vitriol of some of these other reviews. They did fine tonight.
Ocean House of Pizza is a decent choice if you're a local in a dinner bind (like when you're spending your evening troubleshooting your home thermostat / heating system). In my experience, picking up your own food is WAY faster than delivery (and no charge). Unfortunately, this place doesn't give me that neighborhood feeling that I get when I visit other HOPs in the area like Saco or Portland, and the food is barely comparable. I would voluntarily visit Saco HOP or PHOP for lunch or dinner, but Ocean House is just a "we don't want McDonald's but we're in a pinch" place. Judging by the disorganized counter and the dark interior (seriously, why is it so dark in here?), I wonder about how many corners are cut in their operations... There are handwritten signs all over the place, including "no refills on soda". How cheap can you get? I know for a fact that a fountain drink is less than 15 cents cost.
