Absolutely impeccable on all fronts: food, wine list, service and atmosphere were all nearly indescribable. The restaurant is situated on a small corner behind the Camden Opera House. It's inconspicuous, with a bright yellow door and gray exterior. Walk inside, and the decor is simple and understated but modern. The menu is a combination of small plates & larger entrees. Our table of five chose to share a few small plates to start and then each ordered our own entrees. Everything was AMAZING (as far as entrees go, we tried steak frites, braised short ribs & lobster pasta). We topped the meal off with desert and French press coffee. The best part of our meal was the the owner of Valentina-- he was extremely attentive (but not too much so), made great suggestions, and even brought out some samples for the table. Dining at Valentina was truly amazing. I wouldn't have expected to enjoy one of the best meals of my life in a small coastal Maine town!

We had a really nice dinner here on the advice of the B&B host at the Captain Swift. It appears this is a newer restaurant in the Camden scene, but they certainly have the food down. Touting their all fresh and local menu, they offer a variety of options from land and sea. We ended up ordering the scallop small plate and the poached fresh Maine lobster. Both of which were cooked perfectly. We also had several drinks from the bar. Service was friendly and informative. The manager even stopped by a few times to check out how we were doing. Overall the decor was nice and simple and I liked the open feel, even though it was a bit loud the night we were there. Price wise it was a little pricey for the scallop appetizer and the size of the lobster, but again, it's a tourist destination so it's to be expected.

Great reviews, and well deserved! We finally got there last night. Upscale/casual is a good description. Friendly, low key and unpretentious, including a warm welcome from the owner. And top notch food and bar! I had high expectations, and was pleased! Don't be in a hurry when you go, it is a very casual place. But get your head there, relax! A bit pricey for a casual dinner for two, so we probably wont frequent too often, but still very nice dinner and night out. And thanks again to the owner to the warm reception and the warm and welcoming environment!

The owner warmly greeted us at the door and led us to a corner table. Dave, our server, started us off with some foccacia and a delicious olive tapenade. We decided to forego entrees in favor of shared small plates starting off with a salad of spring vegetables that included slivers of grilled green and white asparagus, snap and sugar peas, marinated ricotta crumbles, assorted cherry tomatoes and fresh herbs dressed lightly with a vinaigrette. Next we ordered seared Bay of Fundy scallops with a celery root puree, spiced mirpoix and bacon juice as well as sweet glazed locally raised pork skewers with an apple dressed radicchio coleslaw. We savored each and every bite because portion size was ridiculously small given the high menu prices.

We were visiting Camden for the weekend and made reservations at Valentina's . Our meal was remarkable from beginning to end. The beet and goat cheese salad was delicious and the pork skewers were out of this world. The pork loin and short ribs were so good we couldn't stop eating. Mike the owner took his time to talk to everyone in the restaurant . Truly a wonderful experience. Our only regret is that we don't live closer so we can go more often. Truly a great find and treasure. The desserts and coffee were wonderful also.

Wonderful experience and delicious food! Best swordfish I've ever had! Would highly recommend for anyone in the Camden area. Owner was very friendly and helpful to boot!

Excellent wine list: unique/affordable/ and good variety. I also had an excellent cocktail: cucumber infused vodka with melon. The bread served was very underwhelming and the service needs improvement. The food was excellent both seafood and vegetarian dishes.

We were very fortunate to find this jewel behind the opera house. The place is just lovely and the food is absolutely amazing. The four of us shared several small plates and each one was a gourmet delight. , The proprietor's wine recommendation was perfect. Michael and his staff were warm and welcoming and clearly take pride, as they should, in this establishment.
