This place rocks!! Lamb was Is Exquisite the service was phenomenal everything was wonderful. Other entrée was talk and it was amazing we love this restaurant
So good. So, so good. And so charming. Will make you inarticulate with happiness. Take people you love and eat and drink well. Everyone has always been profoundly satisfied. Deepwater Brewing just opened in the back yard, and they're worth visiting, too, but Arborvine is absolutely something else. If you're lucky enough to end up in Blue Hill, you really ought to go.
Truly one of the finest meals I have ever experienced. A wonderful hostess (Beth) with her two sons in the kitchen (her husband was away when I visited). They get strong points for the room which is classic coastal Maine, with lots of wood, fire places and oriental rugs. The tables are spaced out well and the service top notch. They get strong points for the sourcing of the ingredients; not always easy in Fall in Rural Maine. We had Oysters from only a few miles away. Also local fish and veggies. On the other hand the Venison was from New Zealand and some cheese was local and some with Wis. The oysters were without compare so good that I had them both as an app and then after my main course I had 2nd round before my final course (cheese plate). I had: Oysters (clean tasting, lots of juice) Local baked Clams (mostly clam, moist, tender and delightful) Tomato & Mozz. salad with a pesto dressing Venison with a risotto cake that was both crunchy (outside) and soft (inside).. I didn't leave anything on the plate.. More Oysters (as good as the first) Cheese course with a modest amount of cheese from a nice selection plus sliced Pear and two bunches of Champagne grapes.. Perfection. All that plus a nice bottle of wine.. This place is highly, highly recommend. ------- I went back a second time and had just as good of a time. I had a dozen oysters, then a salad, a baked brie in Filo, then a dozen top neck clams, followed by a 1/2 plate of the venison and then a cheese course. The service lagged at times but was still very good and I felt very comfortable and had a great meal.

I live here year round. This is one of 3 year round places you can go and have good food. Does it compare to great places in Big Cities, no. Is it one of the best in this county YES! Veggie chili is outstanding and I like a meat chili. The Cesaer Salad is always super fresh and crunchy, my son adores the meatball appetizers. I enjoy the ribs and the pizza. Is service lightening speed, nope. Is it the speed of this area, Yes, it is. You are on vacation. Sit back, relax, enjoy your beverage and chill.
Very cute, 1890 type bed and breakfast. Pizza was interesting and unique. Good wood fried taste.
Does the trick. Nothing special. Pizza is the best bet. Don't order anything too fancy - stick with the basics.

Standard DD fare provides comfort food and drink for some in an area without any other fast food choices. Servers are pleasant but can be very slow, both inside and at the drive-thru, so it's not a place to go when in a hurry. But then Maine is life in the slow lane after all, and if you're not at home with that, you'll be happier elsewhere.

Subway offers a good variety of sandwiches and a few healthful salads. Breakfast is good and underrated. Compared to other Subways the service in this one is good but the prices for most items are about 50 cents to a dollar more for unknown reasons. It's attached to a supermarket. Closes at night fairly early.

Vinery

Reviews:
After reading reviews on other sites we had high expectations for the Vinery. It is a small pub attached to Aborvine, one of the highest rated restaurants in Blue Hill. It is a cool setup, a large bar, sun room for seating and a large screen TV. We ordered a few appetizers; the clam chowder, grilled buffalo wings, and the pub pretzel. The chowder was decent nothing special, the wings tasted like they were boiled in water, thrown on the grill for 2 minutes and drenched in buffalo sauce - they were slimy, and the pretzel was nothing special. Don't waste your time with the Vinery, there are plenty of better pubs in the area.
