My husband and I stayed here in April 2014. We were in the Packard room which is upstairs. The stairs are a little tight so just take that into account. I'm so glad that we chose to stay at a B&B rather than the standard hotel chains. Amy and Mark were so welcoming and made it feel like we could chat with them if we wanted but were totally noninvasive. Their dogs are so friendly and a fun touch to staying at a B&B. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was so good. Really, my husband couldn't stop talking about the scones we had while we were there. We'd love to come back if we are in the area again.
We had an amazing experience at the Packard House! It started when I sent out several yelp messages to B & Bs in Bath, Me, indicating that we weren't sure of our timing because it was based on the arrival of a new baby. Amy and Mark immediately responded that they had availability and a special promotion going on. They were happy to be flexible. The big day came and I booked a Saturday arrival. Friday morning, we decided to go that afternoon instead. "No problem " was the response. After a discussion of foot boards on beds, and extra tall bed partners, we took the Garden suite at $20 more per night, because the single room had the aforementioned foot board. Upon arrival, Amy let us know that because of a cancellation, she had a less expensive single sans foot board, decreasing her income by $40, but increasing my loyalty by 100%! The house is so beautifully decorated! Extremely clean and comfortable with an antique-y feel but not overdone. And the breakfasts!!!! Amy bakes her own artisan bread and it is extraordinary! She also makes her own granola, rich with pumpkin seeds. I felt like I was on vacation and wished I could have spent more time at the Inn! Amy and Mark are chatty but not intrusive and their dogs, who I loved, have been trained to stay invisible unless requested. I am so happy that we have a beautiful new reason ( our granddaughter) to visit Bath. Can't wait to return in spite of -13 temps! I have never felt so well cared for!
I can't tell you how much I loved my stay at the Benjamin Packard House. Our room was cozy and delightful, our breakfast was delicious and prepared with the utmost care (everything from the granola to the breakfast quiche was homemade), and the B&B was just beautifully decorated - it felt as if I had stepped into a Pottery Barn Catalogue but instead of new furniture from Pottery Barn the pieces were antique. The owner provided us with water and chocolates in our room in the evening as well as turned on the air conditioning for our arrival. We were asked for our breakfast preferences upon arrival and the owners made us feel as if we were at home. Although the town of Bath lacks tasty restaurants and much to do, this B&B is definitely worth a visit for a night. It is easy to get to beaches and other areas in Midcoast Maine from this location. 2 thumbs up.

For my birthday, Jeff planned a surprise weekend to Bath, Maine, a town that I live in my childhood. As part of the surprise, Jeff booked the Kismet Inn for the weekend. The Kismet Inn is a beautiful and unique hotel. The owner, Shadi, is extremely nice and friendly. Breakfasts are organic and made from local ingredients. She makes almost everything herself including the coffee and tea. One of the best things we had was this wonderful carrot jam made with cardamom. I'm usually a hater of carrots, but this was just so different, I couldn't resist. Also, she was very accommodating with serving breakfast foods we wanted. Jeff had a wild mushroom omelet but since I don't eat mushrooms, I was made a saffron omelet. The eggs not only had saffron, but cinnamon and cardamom. It easily could have been bad, but it wasn't. It was definitely an unique and yummy breakfast. The rooms were decorated with a few pieces of Middle East décor and handcrafted wood beds. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were very big. Some rooms have tubs that are 3 feet deep, that's half my size! There were a few little minor quirks about the inn: 1) No shoes allowed in the house. I was a little thrown by this, but the house was extremely clean so walking around in my socks wasn't that big of a deal. 2) No TV. I laughed at Jeff when he told me this. I couldn't believe he would book a place with no TV, but we brought our laptop and it was all good. 3) No cold drinks for breakfast. It would have been nice to have some juice with breakfast. All in all, these were extremely minor and did not deter from our time there. We had a very relaxing weekend and Shadi was a most gracious hostess.
We had a great weekend here. There's really nothing to compare it to that I've found. The food is excellent. We had some amazing meals, all organic and local. Both of us had wonderful massages and then I got to experience an exfoliation treatment that left my skin baby soft. The rooms are each unique and very comfortable. We opted for the room with the deep tub, but next time I think we will pick a room with a steam shower. This is a great place to go if you need to get out of the city and pamper yourself. Bath is a quaint little town as well.
I had the most wonderful time at the Kismet Inn. This is a dreamy place. It's deceivingly plain on the outside, but a true haven on the inside. Shadi is an unbelievable cook. When I had an issue with my bath, she was eager to help/problem solve. As an added touch, she organizes yoga classes with a one-of-a-kind teacher, Kate Nicholson. Shadi inspired me tremendously and I can't wait to return for another retreat in the future. If you come here, I'd couple your visit with an outdoor retreat in the area. Maine has so much to offer, from lakes to coast to hiking to biking.

Great little restaurant, great selection of breakfast and lunch food. Friendly staff that has a good time with customers. Open Tuesday-Sunday, they have a bar for single party's and a windows nook for larger groups. Definitely recommended to anyone looking for good home style cooking.
Very nice folks running the joint, as with most places we've been to in Maine. I had the Lobster Omelet with home fries, toast, and a side of bacon. The lobster omelet was a little bland but I corrected that by mixing in some of the bacon and adding pepper and Tabasco to it. The home fries were a little on the mushy side, no crust on them at all, but they tasted OK. The hash browns my wife got were of the frozen variety and were deep fried. She was disappointed they weren't of the normal fresh variety a diner should have. The coffee was excellent! It was an OK breakfast, all in all.
Great casual, affordable diner style breakfast where everybody knows your name. Nobody knew mine or my boyfriend's and never will, but that's fine. We came here a few months back on a trip to Bath and had a nice breakfast at the counter. The place is small and was crowded the entire breakfast shift. I seriously think everyone knew each other and/or looked like one another. That's kind of how a lot of Maine is though, to be honest... but whatever! I distinctly remember it having the vibe that it is full of Regulars and they know when you're not. Whatever though, it wasn't unwelcoming at all, but you should know it is a hometown little place. I liked my cheap tasty breakfast and would definitely come back if we were up in the area again.

Fresh fresh bread, so fresh you want to slap it's little face because it assaulted your tastebuds with yeasty, dough-y goodness. Cheese so slicedly divine, you wished you had ordered extra just because - who knew processed American could taste so amazing? Veggies - crispy and cool against the savory meat slices. All of your goodness wrapped in waxed paper to keep the ooze of the dressings and mustards from soaking through to your terrific outfit. 3 sandwiches and sodas, $17. Perfect for a day at the beach.
The perfect pizza after a great day at Popham Beach. Vacationing in the area and found this place thanks to yelp. The Girls working were so polite and helpful and great to talk to while waiting for the pizzas. Their 18in pizza is a big pizza, so they recommended we get an 18in cheese and two 14in pizzas a pepperoni and loaded. We got a free 2ltr of soda with the 18in. Everything was cooked great and tasted great. Recommend if you're in the area and looking for some great pizza.
Pizza is Ok but holy sh.., none of these guys know what "indoor voice" means. It's a tiny space and one employee talks like he's yelling across a noisy bar. If you're looking for a spot to have a quiet conversation or read, forget it. Get it to go. Service is friendly at least and it's cheap.

You have to know this place is here. You won't just drive by it, or see it on Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives (although it seems custom-made for that show). If you do know this place is here, thank your lucky goddamn stars right this minute! I came here for the first time a week ago after checking out the Maine Maritime Museum. My stepdad works there and he suggested we try Gilmore's for some killer lobster rolls. I was so unprepared for the wonders that awaited me. I take lobster rolls pretty seriously. I grew up in Maine, after all. In my eyes, the perfect lobster roll is very simple: buttery toasted split-top hot dog bun, tons of fresh lobster chunks in bite size pieces (many restaurant versions fail on this score) and a bit of mayo to hold it all together. That's it! And that is what you will get at Gilmore's. The lobster roll was on the border of having too much mayo but it didn't deter me. I inhaled that thing in short order, along with the side of fries. Those fries are reason enough to come here. Seriously, I'm not even kidding or exaggerating, they were the best fries I've ever tasted in my whole life. Shoestrings, not too skinny, all perfectly crisp and seasoned and clearly fried in very fresh oil. No floppy guys, no hard crunchy guys, no greasy guys, they were sheer perfection. The onion rings were also excellent but the fries just blew me away. We were feeling indulgent so E and I also got a crab cake on the side to share. I forgot my traitorous preference for Maryland-style crab cakes, so I was momentarily surprised to cut into the crispy bread crumb exterior to find a creamy, slightly mayoed crab interior. Crab cakes don't need no mayo. It was tasty though! Do not miss the baked good here. I really wish we had been able to grab a pie but the logistics weren't in our favor for that. The whoopie pie and lemon corn bread were both fantastic, though.
This is my go to fish shack. (It's also a full fish market) The actual location is no scenic picturesque spot but the food is amazing! It's all take out so you can just drive 1 minute down the road to the waterfront to eat if you need the view. Otherwise there are some covered picnic tables outside the market. I recommended the fish and chips or scallops basket. If you are on a budget the haddock sandwich is always a great choice. Compared to other similar seafood stands Gilmores has the taste and value. *there is often a nice organic farm stand going next to Gilmores. The greens and pies are excellent!!! Grab a Maine made blueberry soda to go with your fish baskets.
Crab roll was toasty, buttery awesomeness. My crab roll with coleslaw and fries was $11.50ish. The crab was nicely tossed in mayo and was delicious. This place rocks! Haddock chowder was creamy and delicious. Only negative is no indoor seating and porta-poties. Seating is all outside and under large tents. Prices are reasonable.

Price was right, service was ok. Food was somewhere in between. I had the baked mac and cheese, cold in the middle and a little soggy around the outside. It had potential, I'd consider trying it again if I'm back in the area.
Had a few drinks. Loved the atmosphere. We didn't have any food. Bathrooms were clean. Mens bathroom light didn't work and the service was a little slow. Will definitely go back for the full experience!
Love this place. Been going for years, this place is my second home. Great bartenders and servers. Food is great. Breakfast is amazing and worth getting up for. Highly recommend it.

We stopped here on a Saturday at 6pm on our way to Booth Bay Harbor. It was a great idea. This place is really close to Rt. 1 and the pizza is great. We got pepperoni and white clam pies. The garlic knots and Greek salad were also pretty good. Service was fast. Plenty of tables at that time. No credit cards and you order at the counter. The place didn't seem as dirty as I expected after reading the other reviews.
I grew up on Cabin pizza and cheese steaks. They make the best pizza I have ever had. I'm not sure what the difference is, but I have yet to find any other pizza I like as well. We moved 3 hours away for a few years and when we moved back to the area we went and had a Cabin pizza to make sure we were right about what we remembered. We were! It's still the best.
I've been to the Cabin 3 times and each time has left me just a bit more disappointed. The food is greasy and makes you feel bloated. I had the single worst pizza in my entire life here. Do not and I repeat DO NOT eat the spicy thai pizzia.

Are there for lunch..it was okay but not amazing..there just wasn't a huge amount of meat on my sandwich and it wasn't particularly cheap. I don't mind paying for a great meal but I felt it just fell short.
Lunch with the family, 1 yr old and 3 yr old. Excellent service, food was perfect and came out quickly. Had the stout and allagash white, beer was fresh and lines clean. Fourth time here, beef brisket is excellent!!!
Was traveling in the Great State of Maine today and almost literally tripped on the Beale Street BBQ. Had 60 min to burn and was driving aimlessly on lovely Downtown Bath, Maine. This place has an open dining area with 10 tables or so, very intimate. Lunch crowd was 6 folks (locals I'm guessing who work at the Boat Yard is my guess) and the atmosphere was filled with Blues and County/Western music (heavy on the Willie Nelson for sure). I settled on an Arnold Palmer (mixed/shaken at the bar) and the Mac N Cheese with Sliced Beef Brisket ($18.00). It came out piping hot and LOADED with tender brisket! With a side of slaw and two pcs of House Garlic Bread, this lunch was filling and tasty. I only wish I remembered to snap a pic of the meal before I devoured it! If I ever return to Bath, I'm coming back for sure!

Out of all Mc Donalds in Maine, I would say this is my favorite. Ever since I was a child this has been a solid location. Food is usually very good with very little order error. What makes this location so good is the quality of Management, employees are always friendly and willing to help. Overall, solid location!
