Awesome! Love that it isn't a chain restaurant, hard to find here in Augusta. Have to try the nacho app, small is enough to share with a friend or as a meal. Pizza is delicious. Very friendly, energetic and knowledgeable staff. If you're in Augusta, you must try it!

Save your time and money and pick ANY other pizza place in the area and go there instead. We could not have been more disappointed with this entire visit. In a party of 4 two pies came out warm at best and one way over done. Sent the other back since it mushrooms when we asked for none. When that one came back it now had the wrong sauce. The third one came out finally correct. However we still paid for it on our bill with nothing taken off after we let them know the other 2 were cold. We were given a free desert. The frustrating part also was it was a Sunday night and almost dead, yet we heard the only other 2 tables with people both send back several items back as well. Now we know that it was not empty because it was Sunday, it was empty because it's terrible. We will not be back. That was their second shot.

This place has the BEST pizza I have ever had in the state of Maine! Thin crust homemade coal fired , fresh ingredients. Wings, salads, burgers, BEER....BEER.....BEER, try a silo! Great service wonderful waitstaff. Local musicians in the tap house. A true gem, great find!

They have quite a good beer selection for the area but the pizza and appetizers are pretty mediocre. It's not bad but there's nothing I would recommend to others.

We ate outdoors which was nice. Service was good, not great. Pizza ordinary. We had one with shrimp which completely lacked flavor, dough was underdone. Beer selection was great!

Four stars in Augusta, for sure. With the chain restaurant feel, connected to some forgettable hotel near the Civic Center, Rooster's would have been easy to overlook. Thankfully, I gave it a shot. Since moving to the area, I have stopped in a handful of times to catch a Bruins game or a quick drink with a friend. Their food is quite tasty and offers just a bit more than your average bar food - amped up wings with carmelized onions and foccacia bread (and apparently coal-fired like their pizza!), Rooster chips which were delicious even though I am not a big chip fan, and, of course, their pizza. Most recently we opted for the Hawaiian pie, swapping out the bland ham for crispy bacon, which totally impressed our bartender. It was a pretty solid pizza overall. Only had beer here and I have no complaints - it was all cold and delicious (they even have some home brews). Service is consistently pleasant, but atmosphere isn't much to write home about. No idea how the restaurant side compares, but there seem to be a lot of children. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it is a good option if you find yourself feeling hungry in Augusta.

Pizza is pretty good, almost excellent. Been there twice, first time sat in the dining area and had great service. Second time we sat at the bar tables...and sat...and sat. Young wait staff all around, standing. Few patrons there, but the bar staff seemed to be clueless. Went to bartender, got some good local beer, then asked that he send someone by to take our food order. When the waitress did show up, she was unfamiliar with the menu, the idea of service, and I think life in general. Too bad, because there is little else in the area. tl;dr don't go to the bar if you want to eat.

Went for Mothers Day 2011. This is in the old Ground Round building. The only reason I gave this two stars was that the server was wonderful. But the food was terrible. Salad was nothing but iceberg lettuce, the wings were tasteless, meatball sandwich was one of the most dry and terrible I've ever had. Dessert was passible but barely. Stay away.

When it's 12:00 on the dot and only a few cars on the lot, should have known to avoid this Rooster. Upon entry the Staff were friendly yet bored due to no people. Each table has a Wooden block used to set pizza on which would be fine....except we weren't getting pizza!!! So there it sat taking up space like a Dead Rooster, just plain annoying. TV's were all on in Bar area yet no volume, this made for a dull atmosphere combined with no music. I ordered a Barn Burger and my wife had a BLT wrap. I'll get to the point, Wife's BLT wrap was really spicy and came with cold seasoned chips. My burger was cold and came with seasoned chips. Food and beer came to a whopping 45.00! Outrageous period. Bathrooms were dirty and unkept which didn't jibe well with a dead Restaurant. An image such as this makes one wonder what the kitchen's standards are? The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because our waitress was courteous. If this place doesn't improve their standards, it's a couple clucks away from a DEAD Rooster.

This place is a gem. Found it on Yelp when looking for a pizza to take home for dinner. Fantastic wait staff and bartender. Everyone was friendly and helpful, explaining the ins & outs of designing your own pizza. The choices of toppings were outstanding - 17 Vegetable or Fruit, 9 Meat and 6 Cheeses. 4 choices for crust which included gluten-free. and 4 choices for Sauce. Got a small, regular cheese pizza w/pepperoni & marinara for the DH and a white pizza w/ricotta, mozzarella & spinach for me. Both were delish. The crust was perfecto - thin, a little char and fresh, fresh, fresh ingredients. I enjoyed a beer at the bar while waiting for the pizzas. They have 19 beers on draught . To tell you the truth I do not know the name of the beer I had but I will find out because it was good. I told the bartender what beers I liked, he suggested this one and he hit it on the head. I'm thinking Blondie from Shipyard? I got a take-out menu which looks very promising - Caprese Salad, Pianta Sandwich and the Dark Chocolate Cannoli Cake will be some of the choices I will be making upon my return. I will be back with DH and friends to enjoy a night of pizza and beers. The prices are very affordable and you get great value for your money. My one piece of advice - ADVERTISE! Who knew you were there? Not me and I drive by there very frequently. I had text 2 friends for suggestions on pizza and neither came up with your name. Get it out there. Oh yeah, a word to Dan S. who reviewed this place on 11/23/10. Your snide remark about the "yokel staff" was so out of line that I disregarded your very detailed and picky review. You sound like a very cranky person.

Augusta's only artisan/gourmet pizza. So it doesn't have to be great. It just has to be there. Fills a niche. Decent pizza. Above average service. Beer "silos" are interesting but not any deal.

I really love the pizzas here. The crispy thin crust with regular or more gourmet toppings are wonderful for whatever mood you're in.

We got the big tower of beer which was good, but half of it was head, which was disappointing. I got the veggie pizza on a wheat crust which was very yummy, but the crust got soggy really quickly, which was a bummer.

Very good apps. Loved the clam chowder. Pizza was ok at best. Service was slow. Cost did not match up with quality of food or service. Very unlikely that we would return for dinner.

Great service and pizza. The flatbread appetizers were AMAZING. I would highly recommend the pizzas here over the pasta meals (I've had both and the pizza is superior by far). The wait staff is friendly and efficient, and the music is lively at night. I'd highly recommend this place!

Bumping this thread because I recently returned to Rooster's and it was pretty bad. Doughy, thick, underdone crust...maybe they got complaints from the rubes who wanted pizza that tasted more like the crap you get at Amato's or the Irving station? (see posts on this very page complaining about the char...it's supposed to be like that, people!) Anyway, why bother having a coal oven if you have no idea how to use it? Frankly, I sort of doubt they are really even using a coal oven. It sure didn't taste like it, and the obviously machine stretched dough certainly didn't add to the authenticity of the experience. Big time fail for me.

Amazing wings but the service and pizza are hit and miss. Great sports atmosphere. Lots of tv's!

The worst pizza I've ever had. Period. I know pizza. New Haven CT; Pepe's, Sally's, Modern, that's pizza. This was from a coal fired oven? They ought to be ashamed. Undercooked, soggy crust topped with tasteless ingredients. What a fraud.

From out of state visiting. Overall lunch specials are excellent for the price. Had pizza, clam chowder and dessert for under ten bucks. Three people ate with left overs and had half tower of beer for under 55 bucks. Great for lunch. Do not know about dinner. Left gull and happy

The patio has really nice. The service was so sub par that a five year old could have provided better service. One of my friends ordered a drink, the server came on and informed us that they didn't have one alcohol to make the drink. So, she ordered a different drink. Another server can out and said that she started to mix the drink and that someone HAD TO PAY for the drink that they could not finish because she started to make it even though they could make it at that time. The manager came out and delivered the drink that was originally ordered. She said that a coworker had a recent death and here are your drinks. This was inappropriate for the manager to tell customers that. The drinks were VERY WEAK and the use of table salt on drinks is an offense in its own right. On a side note. The pizza I ordered was good and that pizza earned them an extra star. However, once our food has delivered the server never came back to check on us. The food - good. The service - bad.

I cant believe how GREAT this place is! The home made Rooster chips were outstanding, the Teriyaki wings were the best I ever had. I got the Philly Cheese Steak Pizza and it was unreal. Who would have thought a place this good would be next to the Augusta Civic Center?

Roosters, it's really an odd name for a pizza place. The first time I heard of it I was thinking country style home cooking food. But no, pizza and beer. Anyway, pizza is good, the homemade chips are delicious. Service is good sometimes but shady other days. Overall 3 stars.

Not worth going to for pizza; dough isn't fresh and pizza isn't bubbly, it's cheesy and thick. I was starving when I went and didn't eat the whole meal. Fried calamari were over cooked. Plus was, the beer was cold.

Pizza pasta and beer Rooster's is an interesting restaurant actually connected to the Best Western Motel next door. It was insane crowded when we went with people both in the restaurant area and others hanging around the bar. Even though it was loud and so crowded we could hardly get in the entrance, the hostess was friendly and quickly found a booth for us. We got menus quickly and even though we had to almost scream to be heard had our order taken promptly and with a smile. Rooster's has two massive 6,000 pound ovens that heat up to1,000 degrees to make the pizzas and the restaurant appears quite proud of them. Several employees seem pleased to answer my stupid questions about the restaurant and ovens even though they were zooming around taken orders and delivering food. We ended up getting some pasta dish and a shrimp salad and they were both quite delicious, especially considering this is hardly a gourmet, take you time and sip some wine, type of old fashion Italian restaurant. As I walked around I notice the bar had 20 different types of draft beer on tap and that people sure seemed to be sucking the beer down. The bar certainly was loud and rowdy but in a friendly and not a get a beer bottle over the head type of way. We only had a chance to try the restaurant once but the food was good and inexpensive, the atmosphere loud and fun and the service exceptional Can't ask for a whole lot more than that.

The food was great. I had a the Bomb Burger, my girlfriend had the country chicken steak. We were both happy with the meal. I did not give a five star rating because of the foods salt content. If you are a drinker you will pay due to you needing cold liquids trying to remove the salt content from your mouth. As of today the water in the rest room was cold the soap dispenser is set at a height that if you are short you are going to have a hard time reaching for it. So if you have small independent children who go to the rest room on their own there is going to be a good chance that they did not use soap when they washed their hands.

Rooster chips were good... Service from Valene was so bad we didn't get a chance to order meals. After waiting, and waiting, while other orders were taken... We left.

I've given this place too many chances... You would think a place that advertises their pizza everywhere would have good pizza. Haha! Not a chance, you are better off going across the road to Walmart and picking up a frozen pizza, bag of chips, and a liter of soda. My boyfriend and I once got the mozzarella stick appetizer. A six dollar appetizer for 4 disgusting mozzarella sticks... Seriously? Our waiter kind of seemed to neglect us, as I sat for about 10 minutes with an empty glass due to our dry pizza that we spent 18 dollars on. The lighting in this place made me think I was in a sketchy Chinese restaurant in the middle of nowhere.. We are certainly NOT coming back! Save your money folks! Wait for Buffalo Wild Wings to come to town!

Came here for lunch on Friday afternoon around 12:45 pm. Place was near empty and we got right in. He ordered the sausage and ricotta rigatoni and I got the roasted vegetable pizza. Food came really fast, almost too fast. My friend remarked "That came fast, makes me wonder if its' sitting out in a bucket out back." His food was OK, but nothing special. My pizza had cold veggies on it and the crust wasn't all that great and came recommended to my by the waitress. Service was fast but not personable. Decore seemed to be a clash between a sports bar/ wing place/ and italian joint. Atmosphere was very sports bar. Place was clean but food was mediocre at best. We both said we would not go back there.

The food was good (we had pizza and some apps). The service was a bit on the slow side, but our server was nice. There was live music that started after we arrived, had I known that I would have asked to be moved to another area. The music was beyond loud. We were unable to even speak with the friends we were with because of the volume. I would not have sat there if I knew there was going to be live music.

Terrible experience half of the meals were Brought out by the time everyone was done eating the coal fired pizza finally arrived burnt to a crisp. We sent it back to the kitchen there was no explanation or discount and they acted as if they were doing us a favor taking it off the bill

We had high hopes walking into Rooster's as the smells were amazing. The dining area was nearly empty at 6:00 pm, although it was a Monday night. We were greeted and seated promptly, got our drinks fast and had onion rings & mozzarella sticks for appetizers. They were nothing special, tasted like something you could buy at Sam's Club. We each ordered our own 9 inch coal fired pizza. The pizzas were seriously undercooked for coal fired. The crusts were soggy and limp, not the traditional crisp and stiff we expected. The flavor was good, but fell short because of the crust. If Rooster's didn't highlight the coal fired pizza as their specialty, then perhaps our expectations would have been lower. The service was very good though. Maybe the key is to stay away from what they claim to do best!

This place was surprisingly good! Their homemade chips with dipping sauce was a fantastic appetizer. Margarita pizza with the garlic crust was yummy!

Came to this place while at the augusta civic center for a convention. Excellent service, excellent food, and a great beer selection. I consider myself fairly snobbish, and even my jaded sensibilities were impressed.

Sad to say the honeymoon is over. The first two times I enjoyed Roosters, the menu and the service. Last night we went for what we hoped would be a quick post movie dinner and what a bummer. The service was slow, the food was poor. Even the kids menu items were inedible. I'm so disappointed that Augusta can't seem to get a decent restaurant. Will not be returning anytime soon.

Great food and drinks! The thing I like most about Rooster's is the selection of local brews like Shipyard. Every time I go, I have a great time whether I'm watching football on Sundays or just going for lunch. The food is great, and the service is always professional and reliable. I would definitely recommend Rooster's to anybody looking for a relaxed environment where the food is delicious. There is also live music on Thursdays.
