With all of the other remarkable choices in the area, trust me, make this one your last resort. There is nothing special about the food here, the service is poor, the place is filthy. I have no compliments and have given them several chances to win me over ( because I live right around the corner) and I'm never going back. Staffed by foolish acting young people with no hygienic standards. While I was there, they were changing out the oil for the fryelator and never changed their gloves after rolling up an extension cord and moving the equipment around. Then one of them starts sticking his hands into the clams and onion rings to begin cooking. Eeeeeghads! Need I say more?

Five of us descended on the Seafood Center and about $75 later, we had everything we wanted. We had various kinds of fried seafood and lobster stew. All of the fried seafood was exactly what it should be, the onion rings were a little disappointing because they were made with the large thin outside slices, the fries were good, and the lobster stew was full of lobster, but no tail meat. One thing about the portion sizes - small is small and large is large. This is worth noting because at some other places, even the small portion is pretty big. The people who ordered small portions of fried fish found that their portions were smaller than they would have liked, but my large fried clam strip dinner was actually quite large. As a local, I'll probably come here once or twice a year to get my fried clam fix. If I were a tourist, I'd made this one of my stops, and I'd make Nunan's Lobster Hut another one.

Lots of seafood joints in the Kennebunk area, but we always order from Seafood Center. Great haddock, good prices, good people.

In a word, disappointed. Came home for a visit and head to the Seafood Center for a bowl of haddock chowder ...a favorite of mine. It lacked flavor but was still loaded with fish. I wanted to give it a boost with a little hot sauce but they didn't have any....the response "have you seen our clientele?" The onion rings were good~thin, crispy and plentiful but couldn't make up for my bowl of disappointment. I won't be returning.

We stopped by for lunch, had read older reviews and thought we would give it a try. I ordered the tuna roll with tomato and lettuce. I ask the cashier if the roll was toasted she said "yes" ..What came out was tuna not mixed, very, very little mayonnaise, no tomato and no lettuce. It looked as if it just came out of the can. The roll was a large bulkie, and not toasted. My friend got the fish sandwich. A bit greasy, on a large bulkie. The fries were average, could have cooked a bit longer. The onion rings were okay, we liked those

Very happy with our experience here. We went before a play at The Arundel Playhouse because we were wanting 'fish and chips' type food. Fried Fish Haddock Dinner served 2 people. The freshness was definitely apparent...and delicious. Unexpected highlights: coleslaw and tartar sauce. Oh and we also had the coffee chocolate donut ice cream at the ice cream shop in the back (cash only there). Lowkey if not cafeteria like environment, but I will definitely bring guests here for the fresh and delicious duo of fresh seafood and ice cream.

Lived in area several years but had not been so we thought we'd try some place new. No frills (order at counter and sit until order is up), cheap eats is what lured us in. I can say having plenty of lobster stew and clam chowder over the years this was very disappointing. Thumbs down. There was a fair amount of lobster in the cup but no flavor in the stew. Clam chowder failed! Watery, lacked flavor. The fried fish was good, no complaints. Decent, fun place if you have kids or a group of people. Go for the fish, not the chowder or lobster stew.

Living in the area, the Seafood Center is one of two places we frequent when in the mood for fried seafood. Today was one of those days. While the wait was longer than I expected for an empty dining room, the food was good (and the onion rings are GREAT). The portion sizes, however, were seriously lacking. For the same price, we could have had twice the quantity of seafood in Pine Point. Five medium scallops for $14? I expected more.

Pit stop on our way to Higgins Beach, recommended highly from local relatives. Nice decor, fast service and good options. Whole belly clam strips were amazing, as well as the cole slaw and clam chowder. Skip the clam cake!

Nice, basic dinners. Check out the Arundel ice cream shop next door.

Was home for Thanksgiving so we naturally made a trip to the seafood center for lunch one day. This time I tried the lobster stew -- pure lobster and a rich, but thin (EXACTLY the way I like it) milk based broth -- that's it. Lobster and the broth. I added a bit a pepper and a bit of salt and was in heaven. Oh and the addition of sweet potato fries is definitely a good thing. Though I only managed to snag a few from my lunch mates, the ones I tried were excellent.

An amazing place. Nothing fancy or pretentious about the Seafood Center, just fresh local seafood (probably right off the boats). The price? A party of four can fill up for what it costs for a single seafood meal in a major city. Always a friendly, helpful staff. Usually the first stop when I hit town, sometimes planning my travel to be there before closing.

Thank you Seafood Center of Maine for being our little "Diamond in the Rough". I ventured here a little while back and I am still dreaming of your amazing, light, and all around flavorful fried seafood. My significant other and I looked at each other on a Saturday night with the hankering for some good ole Maine Tourist Food. When we decided upon an overflowing fisherman's platter and a few drinks. We ordered at the counter and took our spot at tables covered appropriate nautical themed plastic table cloths. Within a few minutes our named was called and we went up to pick up our "plate of glory". Everything on the plate was a nice light golden brown color. As I took my first bite, I knew my face said it all. The seafood was fresh, and moist and the breading was spectacular. It was light enough that it didn't overpower the seafood but tasty enough that you knew it was there. Even the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce was cold and fresh and just waiting for seafood to "play" with it. I will have to come back to try other things on the menu!!! Since coming to this seafood place, I tend to compare any piece of seafood to my experience here and none seem to match. My only complaint is that it isn't located on the water and the location is a bit awkward, but hey, when it comes to the best around, Ill make an exception. ;-)

Awesome fried whole belly clams! Great cole slaw! Clam chowder is very thin, I prefer thick clam chowders. Hot dogs are great. Take-out available. Only ate here once, family has been getting take-out here since. It's a good option, if you live in the area and want fried seafood without going out.
