The Original Woodstock Snowball Stand

This is my first time having a snowball. I was at a Mexican restaurant with some friends when one of them asked me if I wanted to get "snowballs"? Soon after describing to me what it was, I was immediately inclined to getting one. What it is, is shaved ice with a flavor of your choice and a scoop of marshmallow filling on the bottom and top of the cup for a sweeter taste. IT WAS AMAZING. This is definitely a must try if you haven't had any of this before.
Snowballs are more of a Maryland thing and this place offers lots of favors, special toppings and customization with great customer service. They have Diet and Lite flavors and classic (root beer, skylite) and some exotic flavors (mango) and custom blends (mojito?) and the Flavor of the Day. The kids were thrilled with their rainbow snowballs, and we're out on a nearby bench in the shade, chatting about agario while traffic flows by. Prices are fair, and they also support our county library's summer reading program - which has coupons when you make it halfway and complete the program. They also have ice cream, but alas, I've yet to try it.
Kind of a weird location for a snowball stand isn't it? The line moved fast and the people who are work their are friendly and I was asked where I want my marshmallow instead of them just assuming. As far as the snowballs go they taste like... well ... Snowballs.

Excellent, fresh sushi, soup, salad, anything we ordered. Good service and effective decor. Excellent value, and would recommend it to a friend.
This place is a total hidden gem! I am not an adventurous sushi eater and I'm usually skeptical about even cooked fish at places I've never been. We were feeling adventurous and decided to try Yamahana, which is really close to our house. It is AWESOME! I would go so far as to compare it to Sushi King in Columbia, which always gets good reviews. Everything we had was fantastic! The restaurant is small, but clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had both vegetarian and cooked sushi dishes (tempura rolls, etc.)--our waitress even suggested several other rolls we might like the next time we come. She even took time to teach my husband how to use chopsticks! I cannot wait to go back!
Excellent vegetarian sushi. I am a vegetarian and usually have a very limited selection at a sushi restaurant. Their Avacado rolls and Tamago were superb...highly recommended, I'll be trying their Asparagus rolls and other vegetarian offerings next time.

I've been to this place many, many times. The first time I went, I thought the menu was a really pleasant surprise! I expected the burgers and wings, which they certainly do have! But they also have rock fish tacos, shrimp lettuce wraps and a really good flat bread pizza they're happy to customize for you. Staff is really friendly. On occasion, I have had to wait a bit on a busy Fri or Sat, but I have never seen the staff not busting their humps to keep up. I've seen the owner himself pitch in several times just to run food and clear dishes. Bartenders do not skimp when mixing drinks and happy hr specials are pretty good. Really diverse crowd- I really like that I can dress up or we can walk in directly from the stable in boots and a dirty shirt and not feel judged. The only negative thing I can say is that their new "deli" menu can be hit or miss... I felt I got a really good corned beef sandwich for the price. I did not feel the same about the chicken or shrimp salad sandwich. But there's still the main menu to choose from!
At first I loved the place. They had some of the best burgers in town. We went there several times for the burgers alone. However somewhere along the line things went downhill, primarily with the service. The last two times we went were highlighted by a drunk racist yelling about Indian people at the bar while the bartender kept serving him and his friends, and another instance where I greeted the bartender as we entered and then was left sitting without service for ten minutes. Walked out and haven't been back because I'm just not feeling it.
I've always enjoyed this little gem. It's on the smaller side, and I can usually always get a seat at the bar.. but they have tables as well. I've never had a problem with their food, noise level, or music selection- and I love the decorations. It feels homey. I have had a bad bar tender once, but she is only human and was probably having a bad week. The only things I will warn about is I guess the kitchen closes at 10 pm? That kinda sucks on a Saturday night. ((Although the bar tenders gave us chips which was great because we were starving.)) And this is not their fault, but cab services do not come out to this place on time, if at all. I had to walk home with my boyfriend because we couldn't get a cab. Luckily for us we only live 3 or 4 miles away.

Whenever I am home I head up to players and it never disappoints! Food is delicious, bar atmosphere is the best in HOCO, and you won't find more HD TV's anywhere. The bartender Noah is always down to have a conversation. Not sure what more you would want out of a neighborhood bar. Can't wait to check out the new outdoor bar I see in the pictures!
food is around average to average +. however, the owner is just about the cheapest in the biz. I asked for extra blue cheese with my buffalo chicken tenders. it came out with none. so I again asked for 2 blue cheeses. they brought out 1. I was very hungry that day, so I ordered another set of buff chix tenders. this time I asked for double extra blue cheese. it came out with 1 blue cheese and 1 ranch (I hate ranch). when I got the check it had 4 charges of .75! normally I do not complain about such trivial matters, however, after what had transpired I had to say something. the owner came over and told me that because the price of chicken fluctuates that he had to make up for it by charging .75 for each extra sauce. he also said that the buffalo sauce on the chicken tenders counted as a sauce (mind you, none of this was on the menu or explained at the time of order). he did tell me that he was gracious enough to take ALL the charges off for us. the check came back with 2 of the charges still on the check. since the owner went to such lengths to tell me how generous he was, I made mention to the server that the owner promised to take off ALL charges, but two were left. she said no problem, brought back the check and it still had 1 charge on it of .75!! we left steaming mad. we still left a good tip as the server was very good. two questions - don't you think it would be better to price in market fluctuations into your pricing rather than dinging patrons for extra sauce?? also, when the price of chicken is lower, do you give sauce for free? didn't think so. lastly, my cousin was charged an extra $50.00 on his credit card. yikes!!
Went there for lunch on a snowy Saturday. I had a great Cuban sandwich. The staff was friendly.

The food here is just as good as Mi Casa. Everything you'd expect for Mexican fare. I had the enchilada platter and it was quite good.
The marketing for this small restaurant is slick and promises you'll want to come back. Not this diner. Other reviewers rave about the subs and sandwiches. Actually the best thing of our whole meal was the seasoned fries. Perhaps we made the mistake of ordering the Tex-Mex offerings. We ordered nachos -- the cheese sauce was too liberally applied and obviously canned. For our main course we ordered burritos which turned out to be bland with no seasoning. Even adding the restaurant's fresh salsa, couldn't save the dinner. Our waitress was helpful and very friendly. A male server who delivered our meals was the opposite -- frowning and didn't seem to want to be working. As a lunch counter for subs, hamburgers and fries, this may be a good choice. But to meet the expectations of the rest of the menu, the owner needs to find a new chef.
Had an awesome chicken fajita platter for lunch today. Place seems pretty new (they have a sign for temporary hours/ had a photographer in there.. so I'm guessing they are still setting up). A great addition to the area. I will need to go back and check it out during happy hour =P
