I wish I could give them 0 stars because they lacked in many areas including cleanliness, quality of the food and customer service! I ordered shrimp fried rice w roast pork but the roast pork was MOSTLY fat. When I brought it to the attention of the man at the counter, he told me it was okay - I even separated the roast pork out to show him how disgusting it was but he kept saying it was okay and no one else ever complained - are u serious really - I let him know (since he obviously doesn't know) that those people are NOT me and that as a business, he needs to address each situation individually. Next I found that my egg roll was loaded with grease - so much that the bag was full of grease. I then brought that to him and asked is this okay too? He then said no - k will make another one. However, I decided I will not wait as I felt he should have responded the same way when I brought the fatty roast pork to his attention. I told him never mind and left. I totally regret going to this carryout as they do not take pride on the presentation of their food, the place is dirty and they fail in all levels of customer service!

I just moved across the street from this place and found myself hungry late at night. I ordered the large steak and cheese with marinara on side. This was one of the worst sandwiches I have ever tasted. I was unable to eat more than half of it. I'm never one to call and complain and when I did they did nothing for me. A place that I probably would eat at once a week because of proximity will never see me again.

I've been wanting to try Kenny's since it's in walking distance from me. I finally made it over there and ordered the filet fish and cheese sub. It was just okay and I found myself constantly looking at it in between bites. I was probably paranoid due to the seeming lack of cleanliness in that place. In the kitchen, there were stacks and stacks of boxes up to the ceiling, who knows what crawlers and critters might be hiding in all that mess. Keep it clean, Kenny's. Keep it clean (at least to the naked eye). I doubt I'll be returning.

Basic takeout food. Good to me, nice fries, saucy wings. Lo Mein isn't that bad. Average place, delivery took quite a while though. I'd good back, they have a large menu and their prices/portions are pretty hard to beat.

yum yum Kenny's ! they are definitely not stingy with their food. the plastic plates are over stuffed with food and held with a runner band (that's how you know you're getting a bang for your buck). I've always been a fan of the steak and cheese combo. crispy fries and juicy tasty steak. always overflowing with food my friends always got the wings and fried rice and were always satisfied. never walked away dissatisfied and *knock on wood* never got an order wrong. delivery can sometimes be unreliable , but I'm a place a pick up order person.

I simply love this place... I always get the House Steak sub, sliced once (or in half). I just feel the taste, the value, the product is well above average. I like the half and half (lemonade iced tea) frosty. It's not fancy but you will be full. Its a greasy spoon but you should have known that from the go.

Their customer service is terrible, and there is poor hygiene. I called for delivery and the lady answering the phone sounded very rude and annoyed from the beginning. The background noise and her accent made it very difficult for me to understand, so I had to ask her a few times to repeat what she was saying. She ended up yelling at me and pretty much said "What else do you want!" At that point I just said "that's all" and she hanged up on me. She didn't even tell me how long it would take for my order to be delivered nor asked me how I was paying. I waited wondering if my order was being processed or not. When my order came, my sub was all squished into a piece of aluminum foil, the juices from the toppings made the bread very soft and my sub ended up like a mixture of bread and chicken pudding. NOT COOL. Definitely not the smartest way to pack a sub "to-go". I had to just put the mix of bread and toppings on a plate and ended up eating my sub with a fork, it was impossible to eat it properly. To top it off, when I was in the middle of eating my now "chicken and cheese sub pudding" I found a hair in the food. DISGUSTING! Makes you think of what kinds of hygiene regulations are being processed, IF there are any! Definitely not buying anything else from these people EVER again! Might be cheap, but not worth the food poison nor the mistreatment from their cashier.

The food at Kenny's is your standard greasy take-out/deliver food, but it definitely hits the spot when you're hungry and in Wheaton and need something cheap but filling! The low rating is because of customer service. I had a leg injury that left me unable to really leave my apartment or move around that much. I ordered delivery because I thought it would be a simple way to eat some dinner without really having to move or cook, except to answer the door. When the Kenny's driver got to my apartment, he refused to punch in the code to enter the apartment building. He called and demanded that I come outside the complex to pick up the food. When I tried to explain to him that I couldn't walk and was disabled, he yelled at me - loud. Then he hung up in my face as I tried to explain to him my disability. I was shocked. I had to call up to Kenny's to get the manager to explain to him that he had to actually deliver the food to my door. He eventually brought the food up. It was a pretty awful experience.

Kenny's has finally let me down. I have been a regular with Kenny's for a long time. They have always been a go to for me when I have had a late evening at work and needed some grub on the quicktime. So, today, after a long day, I ordered my usual...fries, bar-b-q spareribs (no sauce) and chicken wings. Well, I got stale fries and burnt spareribs. The interesting thing is that when I called them on my cellphone, I got a busy signal...on 5 attempts. So I called from a different phone and immediately got through. As I said interesting. I told them that my fries were stale and ribs were burnt. The girl that answered the phone acted like she knew exactly what was delivered to me. But instead of offering to have fresh fries and ribs delivered as I requested, she gave me a refund for value. Although, I gladly accepted the refund, I am unhappy that they knowingly sent out the door, stale fries and burnt ribs. What makes it worse, is that I have been a long time regular customer and yet that didn't matter enough for them to send out a fresh batch of fries and properly cooked ribs. This is not the first time they have disappointed me but this time it was bad enough that I could no longer overlook it, loyalty aside. Goodbye Kenny's. Permanently.

Frozen lemonade was super good. I order delivery and the person sounded like I was annoying her. She just sounded annoyed with me. I mean its hard to understand her accent. The delivery too a while. Poor tasting food. I dont recommend

This is the worst place to order food from, this was the first time that I decided to order from this place. I ordered a large chicken fried rice, I also ordered six piece chicken wings with french fries. I gave them my address and I was told the food would be here within 30 to 45 minutes. And I went 10 minutes past and I called to see where the food waste, I was told it would be here within five minutes.i called them and told them to cancel it but it look like they didn't, my daughter was so hungry that I decided to keep the food. I paid the Jennemann and told him to hold on I would check the food and when I did the food was cold. I told the driver the food was cold. His answer was" what do you want me to do about it" that pissed me off I put the food back into the bag and I told him to give me my money back. Not only was he rude but he told me I shouldn't order from them anymore. I was angry and I told him that when you order food you expect the food to be hot and you don't expected to come to your door almost 2 hours later. He is sure me that their delivery time is the minimum of two hours and then I was lucky I got it before then so I told him he can go straight where he had to go and I slammed the door in his face. I called the restaurant and I told them and all they can say is oh sorry first and last time that I ordered from them I would never ever ordered anything from them again the rude and it takes two hours to get your food. I live 10 minutes from them two hours it's ridiculous and I don't need that you get cold food rude drivers and rude people who take your orders not consistent not cool not good at all. I will never ever order from them again and I hope people read the reviews and do not order from them. I'm giving them one star because if not it won't let me continue. They deserve no start whatsoever. Terrible place terrible terrible terrible.I need to learn some customer service.

If you hate buffets but you're looking to pig out on a budget, there may be no better place in Wheaton then Kenny's. Its a take-out/delivery chinese spot so I wont even begin to speak on service, but what I will talk about is how insanely huge their STEAK&CHEESE is. I mean this thing is f**king ridiculous. EASILY two meals (and I can really chow down so that means ALOT). I like to do the STEAK & CHEESE with a Fried Egg & Ham to really take my arteries into another dimension. Huge 50/50 (aka Arnold Palmer) that is quite cold & delicious.(Might as well get your insulin levels skyrocketing while you're here) Dont expect avante grade cuisine here guys, just enjoy a humongous steak and cheese, super sweet, extra large drinks at an affordable price. (The food guilt comes free) :)

Steak and cheese. Seasoned fries. Don't deviate from that. The menu is super hit or miss. This is the only thing I can actually recommend, and it's dank

Gave this place 3 star before but today I came back and I understand it is all about the type of food I ordered. General Tsao order is really good and cheap.

Food: The Kenny's in Rockville pike is way better because you can taste the freshness of the fried chicken. Otherwise, this is a good substitute whenever I want inexpensive, quick and tasty Chinese food! Service: I always call in for carryout (sometimes delivery) since I live nearby and usually they'll have it ready within 10 minutes. Depending on how busy they are, when they are not busy you get your food delivered within 15-20 minutes and your food is still hot. Environment: Beware of going there because parking is VERY limited and whatever you do, do NOT park in any Dunkin Donuts spaces because I've seen many cars getting towed!!! Inside is your typical carryout place; only have 3-4 tables so I do not recommend planning to eat inside.

The Rockville location may be better than the Georgia ave location. This was my first order from the Georgia ave location and not impressed. The buffalo wings are cooked fine and taste ok but the smell of the sauce make you want to stop eating them. Not buffalo wing sauce I think it's what they call mambo sauce. A little to sweet and stinky for me. Smells awful. The steak and cheese is all steak and no cheese although I asked for extra cheese. Plenty of meat enough for three subs but not enough taste. Don't think I will go back. This place pales in comparison to Continental Pizza (which was closed) hence my mistakenly calling on Kenny's!

I am pulling the plug on Kenny's. Kenny's was a wonderful solution for a homebound person. Instead, it has been too upsetting to endure! They have had a problem with their help (as admitted by their manager). Instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes, they argue and blame the customer; they also argue with Grub Hub! NO SALT does not mean No SAUCE. Don't tell me that it is my fault and that the wings dried up overnight. Instead of getting their delicious, saucy wings, I got salty, dry ones. I am not a stupid person! I was a gourmet cook and know food quality very well! That is why it is sad for me to not be comfortable ordering from KENNY's anymore. I have spent between $50 and $65 per week for a number of months at Kenny's. NO MORE! I am now looking for a replacement restaurant, which will be hard. But they get not one more dime from me!

Based on the reviews, I ordered the special cheese steak sub. While it tasted good going in, I really suffered for the next six hours. I'm not sure what they put in it, but it's not worth the stomach trouble. A dive with good food is a great find, but this place is just a dive. Not worth it.

  • Janet J.

Worst delivery service EVER. 2 hours to get a small lunch order. Staff amazingly rude, I felt like i was putting them out. Had to call back multiple times to find out what the problem was. Food arrived cold, and the frozen 1/2 and 1/2 was defrosted. The order had been sitting around for ages. And the driver expected a TIP for terrible service.

As a recent DC transplant, I called up Kenny hoping that the food would rival that of my go to in the city, Panda of DC, in Trinidad. Kenny! We could have been friends, Kenny. We could have been pals. What was delivered to me was burnt wings, one order with too much sauce, one with not enough, and egg rolls soaked in grease. The sub wasn't bad, but it's hard to jack up a sub. Kenny, I am disappoint.

Need a quick meal at an affordable cost? Go to Kennys! They offer a large selection of different meals and they don't hold back on the portions either. 3 chicken wings and a box full of fries for $5? Along with Mumbo sauce and their signature lemonade? Can't beat that. I've been eating at Kennys for years and it's always been great.

  • Diam G.

I love their fries. And their wings. I think they downgraded with the mambo sauce a little..but they fries is bomb. Their steak and cheese is pretty okay too, really fulfilling. Fries and chicken wings yummy

Food is as solid as their Rockville store, but this location is in a crappy strip mall on Georgia Ave in the hood so dining in is kinda sketchy. As usual the subs come stuffed with lots of meat and if you pay extra for the combo with fries you get A LOT of fries. The fried wings are just average. They're big and meaty (that's what she said) but have a different taste to them...not unpleasant, just different (that's what she said AGAIN). The mumbo sauce isn't terrible but not tangy like it is at Hong Kong Express in Fort Washington (the reigning champ of best mumbo sauce). I think it's a good value for what you get. However if I am going to be dining in, I will drive up to the Rockville store in the future.

Had the worst delivery experience ever. I ordered 4 whole steak and cheese subs and 4 half/half. I got my order after an hour and a half I called back TWICE to see what was going on because I didn't have time to wait anymore I had to go. When I got my order I received 4 lemonades, no napkins or straws. I called back and asked about the napkin and straws and the guy who picked up told me i HAVE TO ASK for napkins and straws or else they don't give it to me. He said the straws are too flimsy to use on the big jug.... then buy better straws? The drinks are filled with more ice then anything probably why a straw isn't practical. When the driver arrived he told me "this was so far away" If it was so far away you should have told me from the beggining and not delivered it to me quit crying. I honestly shouldn't have left a tip. The location I was at was 13 minutes away from the restaurant. Whats the point of ordering delivery?

  • Chaz C.

Always love their won ton soup. Ordered a delivery meal, I lost my menus but we each knew what we wanted. A friend is allergic to peppers and ordered the Cashew Beef, when I called about they replaced the order with out peppers and did what they could to make it right.

  • Chris H.

I love this place. They don't have the best mambo sauce compared to the PG areas, but one secret I found is if you squeeze some of the hot sauce into it makes it 100 times better. Everything else is on point, the chicken is great, the fries are awesome, and the service is great. Especially for being Chinese owned, it's great. A lot of Chinese restaurants definitely slack on being considerate to their customers but this place isn't like that. Always very helpful and kind. I think I need to stop by for some lunch!

    (4)
  • Paul C.

This place is filthy! I went to get some food there and the employee working dropped a piece if fried chicken on the floor and looked around as if he was going to pick it up when no one was looking. I kept watching him and he kept watching me. I saw him attempt to pick it up, but when he realized I was still watching him, he just left it there and kept glaring at me. He probably did pick it up and served it after I left. Anyways, their orange beef was horrible. I'm beginning to question whether or not it was actually beef. I will never return here again. If you want better service go to China King in Aspen Hill. They may cost a bit more but are a lot better.

  • Angela S.

Though I have been getting their menus in the mail for years (literally), I finally got carry out Chinese from here. My husband picked the food up, so I have no idea what the place is like inside ("Ghetto" was the only description offered). For $6.75 I received a humongus order of Veggie Chop Suey, of which I had the leftovers--half of the order--the next day for lunch. Quite good. I also tried the Cheese Wontons and was not disappointed. You really get a lot of food for your money here, and it tastes good. Will go into our take-out rotation.

    (4)
  • J S.

Not much can be said about a sub place that resembles another sub place in the way their subs are overstuffed and the portions of their fries are just as big. The food is filling for 15 min. The quality of the meat on the steak and cheeses are plain mediocre. In short hearing about how great a place is doesn't mean it is. Kenny's sub shop has a twin in Hillandale and none are worth recommending though Kenny's sub presentation is much better.

food was good. Stop there late night on Sunday after 11 and it was still open. It was great to find a decent carryout. They also have a buffet style in the carryout. Who knew!!!!!!!

    (3)
  • Marcela G.

Just an OK place. Very small, with just a few tables for you to sit and eat there. Staff is never the same people, not like in other small restaurants, and sometimes they can be rude. Their food is good but not the best in the world, if you're hungry and don't want to.spend too much money in food, just go here. It's better to get your food to go though.

Great food! Crappy location, but at least the food is pretty good and they deliver

    (4)
  • Sheena K.

I have eaten at this location as well as Rockville and to be honest...THERE IS JUST SOMETHING ABOUT A CARRYOUT IN THE HOOD THAT MAKES THE CHICKEN WINGS TASTE BETTER :-) I really like the portion sizes for the prices and in the summer it is a MUST to get a FROZEN HALF&HALF. This is my Chick and Chips spot, the wings drizzled with Mumbo sauce and Salt.Pepper.Ketcuhp fries is how I like it.

DON'T ORDER HERE, If you don't believe me, read the results...... The MOST TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!, when you have a language barrier is one thing, try & communicating with the staff over there, I ordered from Grub Hub, the order took forever & a day, first off I had ordered a crab cake platter that comes with 3 crab cakes, cole slaw, fries, and a bun, (Apparently something that's almost fool proof can & will get messed up ordering here), all I got was 3 crab cakes & French fries, wtf?, when I called back, they didn't understand English PERIOD!!! finally they got what I was saying, said they would send a driver over soon, Took him over 45mins, 1st & LAST TIME ORDERING HERE.

    (1)
  • Allison G.

I have never eaten here, but they CONSTANTLY leave menus in my door, despite calling to ask them to stop and the fact that my apartment complex has a sigh that says no soliciting. I have received at least 10 menus in the past year. It is extremely annoying and I will NEVER eat here.

  • Kevin P.

Chicken wings and mumbo sauce!! Not so much a well-rounded review considering the chicken wings with mumbo sauce is the only thing i've been getting from kennys, and the reason is that it's just so good!

    (4)
  • Mark P.

OK expectations were not high when entering a sub shop that is clearly Asian instead of italian. But I had a yen for chicken wings so I took the plunge. The wings must've come from ancient stewing hens. They were huge and tasteless even after adding the gooey sweet mumbo sauce. Fries were good but very limp. I should have known better.

Wanted to try something new. Nothing but regrettable. Ordered Kung Pao chicken and got Kung Pao celery. There was almost no chicken in it. The delivery total did not match menu total. Read some bad reviews on another site and should have paid attention. Should have come here first

  • Chris V.

Okay, this place looks disgusting causing you to not go in, but the wonton soup and chicken soup are excellent (and for under $2 you can't go wrong). The chicken and french fries meal is pretty good too. For what this place serves, if you're looking for a quick bite on the cheap to take back home on a cold night, this is the place to go.

this reminds me of a another chinese slash american joint. the size of the portion is good..but the food is not so great.. although i have to give credit for the lemon and ice tea mix..they are good and very cheap..1.75 for a quart..that is cheap..but the setting of the place is so ghetto.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
