The last thing you expect to find at Nordstrom is reasonably priced café style food that is just fantastic. But then you think about it and you realize it makes perfect sense. Nordstrom is known for quality products, service with touches of modern refinement and elegance. This is evident in the café as well. It also beats the hell out of eating at the food court of any mall. The menu isn't going to wow most people but everything on it is good, no seriously. The creamy tomato bisque with homemade crostini is a staple on their menu at almost all locations. The soup is richly creamy with nice accent of roasted tomato. Another staple is their Caesar salad, which is typically one of the lamest items on any restaurants menu; however, Nordstrom Café does it to absolute perfection. The grilled chicken breast used in the salad is indeed grilled and is always nicely seasoned. The lettuce is your standard shards of crisp romaine with homemade croutons and grated Parmesan. A unique touch to this salad is the Parmesan crisp, which you can break and sprinkle over the salad. The best part though is the lemony Caesar dressing which just tastes so fresh and summerlike. Other delicious items include the Greek chicken sandwich. Usually served on ciabatta this sandwich has tender thick slices of their grilled chicken as well as mixed greens, shaved onions in a light garlic aioli. There are a couple of hot entrée options usually on the menu. Sometimes they have seared salmon filet with rich Israeli couscous cooked with chicken broth and parsley served with haricot vert. The best dish on the menu however is the gnocchi with shredded chicken with wild mushrooms cooked in a sherry cream sauce. The earthy mushrooms work perfectly with the tender pulled chicken in the bold sherry flavored cream sauce - which is actually not that heavy. This dish is much better than most pastas you will find in Little Italy, it is definitely a must try! All in all, Nordstrom Café doesn't disappoint. The café shares the same principles of quality and service that has made the department store so successful. People who haven't tried this café yet need to. The one located in Towson Town Center is especially good and is just a tiny bit more expensive than the food court but so much better!

I love this place. I've tried the salmon with couscous, and the crab soup. Let me tell you about that salmon. It. Was. AMAZING. Tender, flaky, flavourful. I wanted more. I almost went back and ordered another one, it was THAT good. The crab soup was great, it was like Maryland in a bowl. It might be getting hotter, but that soup is fit for all weather. If they have it when you go in, get it. For a drink, get a Ginger Peach Iced Tea. Tasty, refreshing, you'll love it. It's the new Sweet Tea.

We stopped in after a quick Yelp search and we were very happy with our meal and service. If you've never been--order at the counter and they bring out your food/drinks. I had the 1/2 tuna and tomato soup (delicious!) it was served with a nice little salad. I also ordered an iced tea, which was frequently refilled. My sister had the tomato soup and a cobb salad. The salad was huge and it was filled with fresh ingredients. Huge portions, fresh food and attentive service- great find!

I love this place! Everything I have eaten there has been fantastic. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The chopped greek salad is delicious but my favorite is the ham and swiss au gratin. They also have amazing desserts.

We took my mother there for lunch two days ago, and everything about it was very positive. Everyone working there was exceptionally pleasant (our server and the people behind the counter). I complimented the manager afterwards and she was also very nice. The food was *delicious* (I ordered the shrimp risotto [$14.25] and my husband & my mother each ordered the chicken mozzarella on ciabatta sandwich [$10.75/each]). My husband also ordered coffee ($1.75), and he said it tasted better than at most restaurants. The serving size of my dish was a little small, but I stole most of the potato chips from my mother and my husband because their sandwiches were huge. Also, the interior of the café is very attractive - and we sat by a huge (nearly ceiling to floor) window which looks out on many trees.

This is one of Towson's best kept secrets. Most people aren't accustomed to grabbing a good meal in a department store, but anyone who has done some shopping in the East coast Mecca of Manhattan knows this is almost traditional premium retail at its best (you'll find restaurants on 5th avenue inside Saks, Macys, etc.) The same approach to service exists within Nordstrom's approach to making and serving food. The service process is a bit different, but don't let this throw you off. You order and pay for your meal up front and grab a seat. A server then finds you and your ticket, and begins to bring it all out to you. You leave a tip at the end. The menu is a creative departure from hamburger this and sandwich that. You will find yourself reading through your options twice or thrice as some of the flavors and ideas are so different, but within the margins of "I've had something like that before." And the menu changes! I'd say they do an update of 10% of the options every 6 months. The Cafe also has a variety of desserts, soups, and drinks. There is plenty of seating and the place pulls an impressive crowd most late week lunches and dinners. The service, as you'd expect at Nordstrom, is outstanding. The only negative is that it does get super busy at times, leaving you with the challenge of finding a place to sit. You end up stalking people who are nibbling on their final crumbs. Once they get up, you're forced to jump into their grave and stare at their moist mess until service can free themselves to clean it up. This is a systemic problem, and one that I deem unavoidable and infrequent. Don't sleep on Nordstrom Cafe. While I wouldn't recommend bringing a date here, it's a great place for any other connection.

I really like the food at this cafe. I think they change it up pretty often, so it never gets boring, but some of the classics stay. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxing, and this is by far the best place to eat during a long day's shopping spree. The wait staff is also really attentive and friendly here. My favorite dish is a pasta dish with bacon, spinach, mushrooms and chicken (I think), in an amazingly rick cream sauce. So worth it for around $15

Great convienent place to stop in while shopping around towson town. The service isnt speedy by any means but if you have the time to wait in the line..pay...sit down at your table and wait some more for a relaxing lunch this place has a nice vibe. Ive had both the pizzas and sandwiches both are always fresh and deslish to the last bite. Even though its a seat yourself place there are people that come around and make sure you have what you need to have a good experience. Be sure to leave a nice tip! The prices are on the higher side for a casual lunch but your paying for the quality ~

Tried it out again (a few times, with girlfriends who ordered - I don't order from here anymore)... it's still meh. The service is consistently bad. I want to like this place, but every time I come here, it's the same old same old.

I wasn't so impressed with the menu, all the salads had at least one too many ingredients. I ordered a soup and a side of fruit. A side of fruit here is a handful of red grapes and one underripe strawberry cut in half. When the waitress brought our order, she forgot my soup. So everyone at my table had food in front of them but me. Rather than thinking that was strange, she just walked away. My friend flagged her down and asked for my soup. She was carrying a bowl of soup to another table and she just shrugged and said, here, you can have this one. The soup was the size of the bowl they give you your dressing in at Double T. We then waited for about 15 minutes for drink refills that we had asked for before giving up. No thanks.

Saw several good reviews about this place over the past year, so while I was shopping with my wife we decided to give it a try. An excellent choice, this absolutely is one of the best kept secrets in Towson. Lets keep it that way.

Wow! This was a great find! And it was busy! More seating than I thought, cozy and well thought out decor. Order at the counter, find a seat and a "waiter" will bring drinks, and food as it comes out. The chicken noodle soup was perfect - home made richness, veggies, chicken and noodles in every spoonful. We split a chicken club that came with a side salad. Waiter served it on 2 plates. Nice touch! The bacon alone was awesome! Maple crunchy. Fresh chicken and greens, avocado, tomato and real sliced chicken. Filling lunch for 2 - only $15.00. Definitely a stand out amongst the eateries in Towson. We'll be regulars!

As with most Nordstrom Cafe's, these "hidden gems" are sadly not so hidden anymore. Word is getting out about the phenomenal food and service, so don't be surprised if you have to wait to order. But trust me, it'll be worth it. I'm a sucker for good tomato soup, so I almost always order their Roma Tomato. But the absolute have to get menu item here is their French Dip. Holy cow (literally!) The meat is super tender, juicy and flavorful. Let me also back up by saying that the server always asks you if it's cooked to a good temperature for you. (This is a fast-casual restaurant - you don't even get that kind of service in all steak houses!) Next, there's just the right amount of cheese and garlic aioli held together by freshly baked, toasted baguette, which was the perfect mix of crusty exterior and chewy interior. And the au jus... so delicious. I may be a bit spoiled by (and perhaps biased towards) the Nordstrom Cafe at The Mall in Columbia, because the whole atmosphere there is so inviting. I love seeing the food laid out in front of me, and sadly this location doesn't do that. The whole place just looks a bit sterile in comparison, but I understand that it's a slightly different concept. It still doesn't change the fact that the food and service are top notch here - so go here, like now, and have the French Dip for me!

This is a great place for lunch with the girls! When I'm meeting my sis for lunch, Nordstrom Cafe is our go-to spot. It's on the second floor of the Nordstrom department store (and the Nordstrom Rack is in the basement). The cafe food is fresh and delicious, there's a good selection of salads, and always a soup/salad/half sandwich combo if you can't decide. You order and pay at the counter, then a waiter comes and brings the food on real plates with nice silverware and cloth napkins. You can sit at a cozy booth overlooking the huge arched window for ambience. Tip: If you're coming for lunch, arrive by 11:30am. By noon, there's always a long line of hungry ladies who've been shopping at the mall.

I've tried almost everything on the menu and its delicious. The food court will never see me again...lol. They cook and serve real and fresh food. The ginger peach sweet tea is THE BOMB. Oh and the Breakfast which is served all day is delicious...yummy. Every time I'm in the mall, I'm eating at Nordstrom Cafe :).

The sandwiches and salads are delicious. The servers are attentive and professional. My favorites include the Salmon Nicoise Salad, the Greek Chicken Sandwich, the Chinese Chicken Salad or the California Grill. When I am in the mood for a sweet treat I add a coconut macaroon, YUM!
