Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

Excellent burgers. Super rings. One of the best in the area. Great bun holds everything together. Well done, highly recommended for a casual, great burger.

Seek and you shall find! After craving a cheeseburger for the past 24 hours, I decided to take action and seek out a cheeseburger. Since I'm dog sitting in Towson this weekend, I thought it was a good place to start. After setting filters on my search, Burger Bros was the place and I was not let down. I ordered a cheeseburger with all the typical fixings (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayo, mustard, and ketchup) and I was not let down. Great food! Great service! I'll definitely be back.

  • Trenae H.

Burger Bros is the best burger place in the Towson area. IJS. They have an array of toppings you can load on your burger. You have the option of a turkey or angus burger. I loaded my burger with bacon, swiss, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and BBq sauce. Whew!!!! Lol It was sooo good. The fries are good and I always have to add old bay and Vinegar. Its a Maryland thing I guess *shrugs*. Its a small establishment but they do have additional seating outside. This is definitely one of my go-to places for a damn good burger!

  • Nikeita P.

I have the slightest idea why I've been hear over a dozen times and never wrote a review... Here goes!!! Burger Bros is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! You've probably tried five guys, and even BJ's (if your in the area) but Burger Bros has them beat... Seriously speaking, they are in a category of their own and I haven't found a place that even remotely compares. Let's start with the humongous burger that you can chose with or without cheese or bacon and the endless toppings you can choose on your burger. It's cooked fresh to order and looks to be more than what you can handle but trust me, you can. After picking up your order and diving in, you'll immediately notice that there is no grease in sight, rather its on the paper, your hands or inside the burger itself. That's not to say the burger is dry- trust me it's not, but it is delicious and probably cooked to medium well. All in all, make Burger Bros one of your first stops in Towson when your craving or even looking for a delicious, incomparable burger!

The burgers are truly an institution unto themselves. If you have not had one, I just have to ask why. The way that the cheese, patty, and bun come together is a work of art and the caramelized onions make each and every one truly remarkable. Worth the trip from anywhere in and around Baltimore.

My husband craving a burger while in Towson for a quick visit. Yelp brought us here, of course. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot right out front. The place is small but with enough seating space to not feel too close to others. Customer service was okay nothing to rave about. My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger w lettuce and tomato. I wanted a marinated portobello but they had just ran out. Ugh, I ordered the turkey burger w cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard and mayo. I forgot the lett/tomato. Duh! We also had fries and a vanilla shake. Food was excellent and fresh. I ate my whole burger, which rarely happens. The fries, crunchy fries, yum! A lot of people taking out and some others dining in like us. Atmosphere is quiet and relax. We are absolutely coming back! PS. Oh, that milkshake!!!

  • Emily F.

I thought the crispy chicken sandwich was delicious and quite large. Small fries could feed more than one person and I couldn't come close to finishing. My one tip would be to call in your order if you're doing to-go. It's not as fast as some "fast food" places. I waited around 15 minutes from ordering to get my food and it wasn't mobbed or anything. It's a little longer than I'm used to at an order at the counter place. However the food was great and made up for the wait

Best burger in Towson! It's ironic, because I despise Turkey, I don't even touch them for Thanksgiving. But this place has the best Turkey burger, and now that is all I get when I visit this place. Don't get me wrong, their regular beef burger is excellent too. And the fries, my goodness, now I am hungry. You can pick you toppings, sort of like how Five-Guys does it. This place gets pretty busy/packed during lunch time, so be aware.

  • Bill S.

Definitely one of the better burger spots in the downtown Towson area. I go here for lunch about once a month and haven't been dissapointed.

I've been saying it for years... Burger Bros has THE BEST burgers in Maryland. Unfortunately, due to poor marketing a lot of people don't know about this hidden gem. The burgers are grilled so they have that smoky delicious flavor. The buns are fresh and seem to melt in your mouth. The toppings... well... they are amazing. The fries are freshly cut every day. This place puts five guys to shame. There are others that come close to burger bros... But Burger Bros is king of the burger.

  • Cherita A.

Awesome! They have something for everyone-whether you eat meat or naw. My kids are literally moaning as they eat their burgers. The 10 year old said, this is perfectly cooked.

    (5)
  • Jude T.

This place is great. Their burgers are amazing! My girlfriend (from San Diego), compared them to IN-N-OUT BURGER. High praise! The beef seemed like a patty of real beef, made perfectly with almost no filler. 6 0z of perfection! The toppings were of a good quality - no crappy pink tomatoes here. AND THE HAND-CUT FRIES. JUST GET THESE. BUT BE WARNED THAT A LARGE FRY IS TOO MUCH FOR ONE PERSON!

  • Danielle G.

This is my favorite burger place, when I was pregnant all I wanted was the bacon cheese burger with everything on it and a small french fry which could feed about two people, but for a pregnant women it was all mine. I will never eat at another burger place and I found a Groupon for their food online couldn't be any better.

  • Vy V.

Went here on a evening to grab a quick bite before heading over to Towson mall. Overall? SATISFIED. I got just a regular hamburger (had to skip out on the bacon burger due to diet) but I added tons of other toppings they offered. The burger was moist and delicious. The bun was alright. Definitely get their onion rings! The batter around it was crispy and much better than other restaurant. I should have gotten the fries as well...but you know, diet. I thoroughly enjoyed my quick trip here and will be back whenever I get the chance.

Tries to make my burger bizarre ... To test them... Cheddar, shrooms, grilled onion, jalapeño, kraut. Among the most delicious burgers EVER. Great buns. Fries awesome. No beer :(

  • Lou D.

I agree with the high ratings that Burger Brothers are getting. I try to stick to a leaner diet and chose the turkey burger. Best one I have ever had (including my own). It's hard to resist the fresh-cut fries. I passed this time, but I have given in to temptation in the past. Burger Brothers is an all-American burger joint with fresh ingredients. Friendly service too.

They are extremely friendly; wonderful people. On top of the food is really good. I would gladly recommend and I will be back

  • Brendan B.

I often go here with my friend Dr. CHEW. He gets a bacon burger with no burger and no bun. I ordered the bucket of fries once and upset my equilibrium for 6 weeks. Dr CHEW and I could not practice our fencing for 7 days after that. Hit it hard my friends and get the largest buckets!

  • Sarah B.

We checked this place out at the suggestion of great reviews from other yelpers. While not the best burger I've ever had in my life, it certainly was tasty. My husband was disappointed that there weren't any chocolate milkshakes available for him. We split a small fry and onion ring and each got a burger. The buns were freshly baked and the rings battered on site. Fries cut fresh. I really had no complaints at all. The place was clean, the staff was friendly and moderately priced for being just outside of the Circle in Towson. I would go back if I were in the area, but it wasn't so unbelievably outstanding that I would nix my local Five Guys for it. However, if it were next door to my local FG, I would go here instead and that must count for something.

  • Sidney T.

They have some pretty good flame grilled burgers, and the fries are delicious, too. All of my food was fresh, hot, and made to order. Service was good. Even though 5 Guys burgers are cooked differently, I still would prefer Burger Brothers because they taste better and aren't sloppy and soggy. I did try a shake, but I didn't like it because I love mine made with real ice cream; it tasted like a fast food shake, in my opinion. Otherwise, I would recommend eating here. I'll definitely come back in the near future. Oh yeah, depending on the day and time of the week you go, be prepared to pay for parking either on the street or in a nearby lot.

    (4)
  • Claire L.

Really good. Everything I've ever tried has been above satisfying. Especially the milkshakes and chicken- they're beyond!

    (4)
  • Dustin D.

One step above five guys. Larger burger, more choices in cheese and sides, good selection of glass bottled soda. This is not on par with "good" burgers like you'd find at Hamilton Tavern, Brewers Art, etc. You don't order this rare nor would you want to. That said, the quality matches the price and it doesn't disappoint. Want a decent burger in Towson? This is not a bad choice at all. Carryout is very convenient. The bleu cheese is a good choice. The caramelized onions aren't my favorite here, but they are not bad. What can I really say? The burger and service is good, but I don't think its really spectacular.

I'm guessing the attempt here was to ride on the coattails of Five Guys and/or Gino's. Didn't quite pull it off. The burgers are a good size with a distinctive smokey flavor. The buns are big, firm and do a great job of containing everything. That's probably this sandwiches's best feature. I wish I could find buns like this for burgers at home. On the downside, the patties are a bit flat, dense, a bit on the dry side and all around uninspiring. Burger connoisseurs know that a great burger is loosely packed and big grained. Definitely not getting that *handcrafted* vibe from them. I expect a little more from a place that's all about the burger- fresher, fatter and juicer. Honestly, had I been served a burger like this at TGI Fridays, I'd have no complaints, but it's not quite up to par for a one-of-a-kind burger boutique. Though it's a chain, Five Guys' burger is way more inviting, albeit smaller. The fries are a bit more of a let down. Clearly an attempt at *boardwalk style* fries (á la Thrasher's, Five Guys or Boardwalk Fries & Burgers), but once again, they don't quite clear the bar. Too greasy and over browned. Do a search for pics of them- they almost always look overcooked and usually a bit shriveled. My guess is they don't use the best potatoes and/or don't blanch first - like the boardwalk fry big league guys do. It feels like they're missing the mark brand-wise too. There's no unique, ownable identitiy to speak of - despite the opportunity that exists for a place like this. Five Guys has a solid identity. The stong red and white, big chunky lettering, the peanuts- it all comes together to form a memerable "personality." The BB logo looks like a kid made it and it's used inconsitently. The closest these guys get to visual identity is the checker patterned serving paper and they stole that from Gino's. I get the sense they want to do this place on the cheap. To sum it up, they're not *bad*. I just expect a bit better. I usually understand the average rating a place gets. BB's high rating here takes me by surprise.

  • Jenni H.

Talk about wholesome, fresh, and yummy burgers, this place takes the cake in the Towson area. Better than Five Guys even and I love Five guys. Unlimited toppings, fresh cut fries, and old fashion soda pop, what more could a girl ask for. Customer Service is A+++++

A-OK 5 guys clone. I actually like it better as the fries are nice and crisp. The staff were friendly, but it was a bit dirty. I imagine they were having trouble keeping up with the volume as we unintentionally stopped by during a block party or something.

Complete and utter perfection. I mean how is it possible to get everything so right? Especially in this day and age. So why the perfection?: -Burger is seared and has the perfect grill taste. Like BK used to have back in the day. -Bun is NOT mushy and smushed. Has its own texture in place and is firm but not too firm. -Fries are prefect. Just perfect. Kinda boardwalk style in taste but not mushy with perfect amount of crisp -Milkshakes are smoothe and creamy. Not clumpy or sharp in taste. It just does everything f$@king right! Its seriously a mindf$#k as to how right they get it because just about no place around these days that does burgers is nearly as good as this place. Closest would be Burger Abbey Bistro but I'd rather go to this place any other day of the week than there or even 5 Guys, the Shake Shack, Red Robin, Coopers etc. And you can just forget fast food burgers compared to this place (naturally). If you go anywhere else for a burger, fries, and shake these days, you are practically wasting your time. ITS. REALLY. THAT. GOOD.

  • Marilea J.

My meat eating husband said this burger was great! Had wonderful flavor, hand pattied flavorful burger! The burger did drop a lot of grease. He didn't much care for the burnt fries. Vegetarian option is portobello mushroom burger. The bathroom was dirty. Word from professional chefs is that if the bathroom is dirty most likely the kitchen is dirty and you can't trust the food.

  • Emily W.

Stopped in here this morning after planning to go to THB, which was packed. Glad we went here instead! The burgers were delicious. We both had cheeseburgers with an order of fries and onion rings. The burgers were a good size, cooked like medium-well, and were so juicy and flavorful! The caramelized onions (you pick your toppings when you order) were soft and slow cooked. The medium onion rings and small fries were more than enough for us. They were served in tall cups- almost like a carnival would do- and overflowing at the top. Overall, the meal was great. It looks like there were tables outside but they had been taken over by THB people. My only suggestion would be if these are for Burger Bros. customers to mark them better- we would've loved to sit outside but couldn't snag a table anywhere.

Way better and less expensive than 5 guys. Everything here is great. Made to order with fresh toppings Burger brothers needs to be on food network!!

  • Raven T.

Came here for lunch a couple weeks ago based on proximity to work and other reviews. The burgers are fresh made like most places (that aren't fast food) and I've come to expect that. I am no burger connoisseur, but the burger was good. I've had better and I've had much worse. It's comparable to Five Guys, which is down the street. The burger patty itself is larger (thicker), but the toppings are just as fresh and delicious. I will say that I AM a potato connoisseur, especially french fries and these have nothing on Five Guys, Kooper's, or even GrrChe food truck. I can't say that I am a fan yet, but I will go back.

Beautifully delicious burgers and friendly atmosphere! Got the BBQ bacon cheeseburger and the meat was a perfect medium rare and the cheese was perfectly melted. Bacon was think and juicy. Overall, excellent little lunch stop

Yum! I bought the Groupon deal for this place not realizing it is a 30 min drive from our house (without traffic.) After suggesting burgers for lunch every chance, while subtly downplaying the distance we finally made it out there and easily found the place. Parking was easy even though it is on what seems to be a busy street. They have a big(ish) menu with burgers, dogs and wings. We have had burgers both times we've been there. They first time we ordered cheeseburgers and I could not believe how delicious the meat was! This was a really good burger!! Much better than Five Guys (and I like Five Guys.) The second time we both ordered too much stuff on our burgers which took away from the patty itself. The place was a little dirty but they were putting out new chairs when we were there last and they looked nice. I just wish we lived closer so this could be our go-to burger spot.

This is simply a great place to get a burger and fries. I have been dining here occasionally for about five years and have had only great experiences. The burgers are juicy and delicious. It's a bonus that you can order them medium or medium-rare, as I am not a fan of medium-well which is what you end up with at some other places. My wife and I have dinner out fairly often and sometimes drop well over $100 at a nice restaurant. Very rarely is the food or experience memorable. On the contrary, every time I walk out of Burger Brothers I think to myself "Man, that was delicious"...and that's after spending only $10. Give this place a try...you won't be disappointed.

  • Jenny H.

Good burger place in Towson. I would give 3 stars for food, 4 stars for service. Good slab of beef with bacon and cheese on top and a crispy potato bun to put it on. Every bite was melted together well! I liked how they gave you slivers of chopped up lettuce instead of the big leaves. Their fries were with skin on and you could eat it with ketchup or vinegar or old bay. I was disappointed with their strawberry mlikshake, it was pretty much vanilla soft serve they swirl with strawberry syrup- they did not use real ice cream. Pretty good place though overall!

  • Dominique T.

Ahhhhh mazing! I tried burger bros because it's close and I initially had a groupon (love groupon). I don't eat burgers often but when I do I like high quality and I do consider myself a French fry con·nois·seur and I give Burger Bros 5 stars. I've had both the turkey burger and regular burger and both are comparable to top notch! Not to mention the teas and lemonades!!! Ok enough stop reading and go to burger bro... Save me some fries!

So I finally had my 1st hamburger, after 1 yr, as I been abstaining from Red meat for a while now, haha. I will say, not bad at all. As a person that has eaten some of the best burgers out there, Kobe beef burger, In'n'Out. and Shake shack in NYC. This place does make a good mean burger. Overall, the burger was cooked well, well done of course, but I felt it was tad bit overpriced in terms of the quality of beef I was getting. The onion rings I got were above average, and the bread of the burger was very good too! Overall, nice spot, friendly service, and good location in downtown Towson. I don't think I am that interested in trying it again, so it shows you that I am quite picky when it comes to my burger :D

Just finished up another awesome burger at Burger Bros! The burger was as usual beautifully flame grilled and juicy. The buns were nice and toasted, and the toppings were good! We had fries this time, but we've had Onion Rings before. The onion rings are of course fantastic, but the fries were out of this world! They were nice and crispy and well salted! Love this place!!

Yum! I landed in town hours before the kick off to a conference and I needed something fast and delicious. Burger Bros. fit the bill. I ordered a cheeseburger, with caramelized onions and asked if they could serve it on top of the shredded lettuce I could see sitting in the topping prep bin, and without a bun. The staff was slick enough to pick up on my request and while I waited, I watched one of the grill masters walk to the back, find two big pieces of leafy romaine, and proceeded to wrap my burger in lettuce. What a guy. This is fast, but not INSTANT, burgers. It took about 10 minutes to prep my burger and fries. Well worth the wait. Burgers are really juicy and flavorful (even when well done). Much tastier than Five Guys or similar style burger places. Highly recommended.

We were looking for a quick place to grab a good burger. After reading the previous reviews, we decided to try this place out. The burgers and onion rings were outstanding. The staff was helpful and courteous providing some guidance like "why eat a salad at a burger joint?" We really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to others.

  • David S.

Without a doubt the best burgers in the area. Meat is fresh and burgers are made by hand daily, rolls are always fresh and the fries are as good as it gets. Recently discovered their wings which are also very good. We go frequently and will continue to support this business.

  • Sonya A.

Yes!!!! The best turkey burger I've ever had. The bun is so good and the the whole make up of the burger was perfect. Couldn't believe the fries were actually crunchy... Old bay and malt at every table. They even have the plastic containers with lids for your ketchup to go- no need to ask! Love this place... Five who?

  • Karen C.

Parking can be a pain around here, but the food is worth the trouble and the annoying meters in Towson. I stopped in the other day with my mom for a quick dinner and she got a plain cheeseburger, while I got a hamburger with ketchup, mustard, carmelized onions, lettuce and tomato. We were out in less than 30 minutes (with time to spare on the meter) and the food was great, cooked fresh to order. Service is always fast and friendly here too.

Tasty burgers and hand cut boardwalk style fries. The burgers are thin and only 6 oz but they are pretty good. They also have cherry coke which makes me moist.

Hands down the best burger ive ever had- and thats my go to. Perfectly toasted buns, correctly cooked meat, fresh variety of toppings and decent fries too. Thank god for the unsweetened iced tea so you dont feel like such a fat kid after chowing down.

Idk why this place has less than 5 stars, clean, courteous and delicious. I ordered the bacon burger, mustard relish peppers red onions, and I can taste the quality in the meat. I will return when my next cheat meal allows me too lol.

Got here maybe 5 minutes before close. Som people won't even serve you. Let's just say service with a smile and no attitude. The food here is great and fresh. If your a burger lover this place is for you.

Friendly staff... Busy place... Great location (only because I live in walking distance ;). I'll definitely be back to try a different selection. They have the Coca-Cola in the glass bottles! Nostalgic! :D Fountain sodas are available as well. I wonder, how spicy the wings are? Something to try on the next visit. Note: Medium fries are enough for 2 people.

Burger Brothers slings the best "fast casual" burger I've found around town. They beat out Five Guys, Cheeburger! Cheeburger!, and BGR for both burger flavor and quality of fries. Cooked to order, with a great grill char on the meat, and a good beefy taste. The fries are cut thick with skins on, and cooked up deep golden brown, hot and crispy. The spuds really stand up great to a liberal soaking with malt vinegar. The burgers are 6 oz. patties, which sounds small these days, but to me is just right. Go for a classic cheeseburger with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle - mustard if you have to, but skip the ketchup. Toppings are crisp and fresh, and prices are in line with similar businesses. Accurate, fast service too, even during the lunch rush.

DELICIOUS! Made to order and freshly cooked. I had a double patty and I was stuffed. The meat was perfect and the bun was amazing (potato bread?) I must say this is way better than Five Guys. Fries were on point also and the large fed all five of us.

  • K K.

Not sure why people love this place compared to FiveGuys. My burger was slightly overcooked, and the toppings were handled without gloves by a guy who was also taking payments... Plus one star for the fries being great, though.

Omgeezuz. The burgers here are super good! Less greasy than other burger joints and the fries art top notch. If you're ever in the area take a detour and stop in for a great meal! Only thing would be to clean up a little. That doesn't really bother me. So the floor was a little dirty. The food is awesome and it reminded me of burger joints from my childhood! Giant burger ton of fries and a cold cherry fountain soda!

My husband and I LOVE this place! Burgers are fresh and grilled perfectly. Fry and onion ring portions are generous- definitely share. We usually choose rings over fries. Friendly guys, quick service.

After taking some time to navigate through the Towson area on a Friday afternoon, I realized that I was in the mood for a good bacon cheeseburger. In comes Burger Bros, which is located on the Allegheny Ave strip filled with different restaurants. Finding parking within this area can be a pain a little bit on days where the strip is filled with patrons but there are lots down the street, especially on Washington Ave. Burger Bros. has a formidable, clean, easy setup where you can sit down and enjoy some good food they have to offer. The employees are friendly and they make your ordering experience easier, especially if it's your first time. Burger Bros.' claim to fame are their burgers (duh!), which is 6 ounces of Angus beef slapped onto a bun. I went ahead and ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger ($5.99) with a side of medium spuds fries ($2.79). Man, the cheeseburger was very delightful, especially since I was working with an empty stomach at the time. The spuds fries were OK, in my opinion. Its better that you eat the fries while they are hot, because they are not enjoyable once they are cold, even lukewarm. There are bathrooms here, which are pretty clean. I can only speak for the mens' bathrooms, for obvious reasons. By the amount of people I saw on this particular Friday, I can come to some conclusion that this place can get busy, so plan accordingly. This is a good spot to pick up a good burger if you're in the Towson area.

I have been converted to eating Turkey burgers by eating at Burger Bros. I also love their mayo, I know that may sound weird, but it is seasoned with some amazing spices, which may just be salt and pepper, but that makes all the difference. The fries are great! no need to ask for well done, they are always done well. My only complaint is that the onion rings dont seem to be homemade, but everything else is. Make some house made onion rings and I would give that 5th star.

Was in search of great milkshakes and found so much more!! The burgers and onion rings are amazing. We did take out so I can't comment on the service inside the restaurant but know when we went in to pick up our order that is when they made our milk shakes. Out of this world amazing!!

The best turkey burger of my life!!!!! it was moist tender charbroiled full of flavor! If you want to take a break from red meat or just try to eat a little bit more consciously, run don't walk to burger brothers for their delicious turkey burger!

I had a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The fries were well seasoned and were very crispy. I was actually more impressed with the fries than the burger. I'm thinking where the burger fell short was the toppings. They were of my choosing. Grilled onions, american cheese, lettuce, tomato and A1. The burger actually had really good flame broiled marks and it was juicy. The toppings just didn't seem fresh or impressive. I almost didn't even notice the bacon. I'm guessing it was there since I ordered it. The service was just ok there. I arrived about 1:20, well after the lunch crowd had gone. I would eat at Burger Bros again if I was in the area because I checked the reviews before I went and they were favorable. Maybe it was me or maybe I should try something different. If I'm jonesing for a burger though I'm gonna hit up Kelsey's in Ellicott City for the Corned Beef Burger. It's a little pricey at $13.99 but it's great. If I'm shooting for a burger on a tighter budget I'll hit 5 Guys too.

Very good spot & relatively cheap (for what you get). I tried this place for lunch and my burger and fries were very yummy. I know that people love to hype up 5 Guys...sorry guys...this place is way better. My burger was juicy without the greasy mess of a 5 Guys burger...and it had the grilled taste of a burger you would get at a backyard BBQ. The fries reminded me of Boardwalk Fries...and even with the small portion you get a lot. I'm also very happy when an establishment serves Heinz Ketchup...rather than the knock off generic brand!!! While everything is sold a la carte, the price is still decent for all that you get. I ordered carry out. So, I had no idea that they sold milkshakes as well. Guess I'll have to go back again to have that next time. They also have frequent diner program. Waaaaay better than 5 Guys Folks...IJS

  • M G.

Is it the bun? Is it the juicy, meaty patty? Or maybe how they can perfectly fuse A1 with thousand island sauce. Whatever it is, it's good. Plus I get the urge to quickly go in and buy another burger after I finish mine. I never had that feeling before.. even though I grew up with Five Guys and In'n'Out in my hometown. There fries are greasy but tasty. Their milkshakes are eh. It's a good thing I don't live closer, or else I'd be really fat off the burgers. PS don't forget the caramelized onions. I almost forgot mine today, gasp!

  • Greg O.

I was looking for a quick bite to eat, and looking through the area places, Burger Brothers sounded appealing. Its a similar set-up to Five Guys- choose a burger type and fill it with toppings. But they also had hot dogs on the menu, and those can have all the topping as well, so that's what I went with. And it was delicious. As some of the other reviews mention, the caramelized onions are one of the best toppings. I also went with a side of onion rings- they were extra crispy without being burnt, and excellent- but a side of some kind of dipping sauce would have been nice. The prices aren't as cheap as a fast food joint, but the food is much better. The service was friendly and quick too- definitely worth another trip when I'm in the area.

I thought the burgers here were pretty awesome. The bun is perfect, and the flavor is just all around great. Their fries are also really good. Basically, if you've got a craving for a burger and fries, you really can't go wrong here.

One of the best burgers I've ever had, probably THE best. Good portion size, but everything was fresh, cooked to order and perfectly seasoned. Even though I live 40 minutes away, I'll be back!!

What a fantastic local burger place, actually owned by brothers. Each time I've been (dozens) the owners are there making your food by hand! Let me tell you, they really care a lot. The burgers are AMAZING, including the salads and fries. Prices are reasonable and you can choose all the toppings you want + the type of cheese. I've overheard customers comparing the menu (free toppings, etc.) to Five Guys, but this is FAR superior to anything at Five Guys! You can't choose the cheese at Five Guys and the cooks are min wage works - not the owners! This is a special place. They have a portabello mushroom burger to die for, which I order often and I'm not even vegetarian. The fries are perfect, meat is super-fresh and the presentation is 1,000 times better than Five Guys. They have local music playing and it's a pleasant, cozy atmosphere. You may have to wait a bit for your order, because they put great care into it, so you won't mind. They have a Towson student discount and BIRCH BEER on tap! Pure Baltimore enjoyment :)

I just learned about Burger Bros this past September and since have been four times. I have never gotten anything other than the cheeseburger and fries because let's be real, who goes to a burger joint to get a wrap. The fries are definitely the BEST. I think they call them spuds but they are so good. Went home with my meal last time and offered some to my roommates and they were gone after a few minutes. And the burgers are delicious. The bun is toasted and the patty is big and juicy. The portions of the meals are good too. I can pack in a good sized meal, trust me, but I'm hardly able to finish what they consider a small fry. And the burger is more than filling. Price is good too, considering I'm paying for a real burger and not a small patty like off the dollar menu at McDonalds. And it's a meal that I will not be left snacking after so I'd say it was well worth the $10 and some change that I paid. The atmosphere isn't anything too special just some seating inside for those that want to sit in and eat. No need to dress up, very casual. Only thing that I would say is that the small cup for a soda is smaller than I'd expect so I would bump up the size if taking it to go but overall I love this place.

Meh. Wife and I both got bacon cheese burgers and split a small order of fries. What? Almost $15? For real? If these burgers were orgasmic, it might've been worth it, but they weren't. The toasted buns are a nice touch (made me wish for In-n-Out), and the ingredients are fresher than a 16yr old with entitlement issues. But our fries were more limp than....well, let's just say they were limp. Not a bad burger by any means, but hey, we're in a recession, show me that value!

Probably my favorite quick eatery in Towson. I used to come here twice a week for lunch when I worked nearby and now stop by whenever I can. It's a pretty small joint right in the middle of "downtown" Towson. The restaurants on this block have an unfortunately high failure rate, so Burger Bros' success should speak volumes of its quality. I'll just say it now: Go here over 5 Guys! I love 5 Guys, but the options here are better and you get to support a good local business. The lowdown is great burgers at a good price. Basically, big juicy burgers + great toppings. The large, juicy beef patty is superior to 5 Guys 2 skinny patties. Caramelized onions are a must and the cheese options are great. 5 Guys will only give you American; BB offers cheddar, Swiss, feta, and more. The buns are great as well. They remind me of a softer and slightly moister brioche. Burgers are 5-6 dollars depending on if you get bacon and/or cheese. Fries are great. Definitely not frozen and I think cooked in peanut oil. Grab some old bay, vinegar, or ketchup and you will be happy.Onion rings are nothing special, stick with the fries. Share a med/large fry order with your friends for 3/4 bucks. If I don't get a burger, I get the "Fish and Chips" sandwich. It's a big slab of fried fish in between the same tasty burger bun. Tartar sauce and french fries are on the sandwich in addition to whatever else you want. In fact, the fries pile out of the sandwich quite beautifully. This sandwich is a great deal at 6 bucks (6.50 w/ cheese) because you basically get enough fries to match a small fry order. For a burger joint, the wings are very good. Honey bourbon is my fav. Don't come here for the wings though. Only get them if you're at BB for the 3rd time in 4 days (I'm speaking from experience here). If you want a soft drink, they offer Boylan's bottled sodas, which are pretty good. However, I recommend skipping this and getting BIRCH BEER from the soda fountain. If you've never had it, it's just sweeter root beer that also has a strong red tinge. It's amazing though, so definitely try it. Employees there are awesome. The cashiers are all super friendly. One of the two owners, the "bros," is always cooking on the grill and they are definitely good guys. Service is quick, too. The order line moves quickly and you'll wait 5-10 minutes for your food to come out. Grab a loyalty card- your 11th burger is free. Better yet, come on Sunday afternoon if you're a student and get 1/2 price burgers with the order of a drink. Clean, modern styling and classic rock fit the bill nicely for a great lunch/dinner spot, but you can get take out if you so desire. It would be the ultimate burger place if it was open late. But alas, it's still awesome.

Couldn't disagree more with other reviews. Five guys is better. I only went here once. The burger was just OK. It was fast food style as well. When they don't ask "how do you want it cooked" it is fast food, Would consider going back, but not with five guys down the street.

Nothing special or unique about this place. I don't mind staying true to the classics like they do but at least do it justice. The food was just alright.

I sure will return! My burger was very well made with unlimited toppings. After reading the good things others had to say about this place I decided to try it for myself. Very wise decision. The portion size was perfect. I wouldn't have changed a thing. I now know this is where I will grab my burger and fries when I'm craving one instead of going to the below average Five Guys not too far from this place.

Burger bros is ON POINT. For what it wants to be (a simple burger local burger joint) this place is a solid 5 without a doubt. You order your toppings, meat (including a fish filet), sides, etc just the way you want it. Some simple points: 1) Props to the owners for focusing on not only the meat but also the bun. The bun is so clutch. It takes the burger to another level. Not like a pretentious french over the top can't pronounce the name kind of bread. But a solid bread. Can't explain it ..next time i'll ask where they get them from. Has to be a solid baker. 2) The meats (all of them including the fish sandwich) are solid. Just what you want from a burger. 3) Toppings ..just like you want em! Good stuff, great variety. 4) They also focus on the fries. No cafeteria style crap. Great non frozen spuds fried in peanut oil. with or without vinegar, they're great. Exactly what you want from good french fries. All in all, these burger bros set out on a goal to make this restaurant successful. They focused on fresh, simple ingredients, and they do it amazingly well. Check burger bros out!!!

Nice! This place is definitely giving 5 Guys a run for their money. Burger was cooked on a flat top grill just like 5 guys. Turned out to be juicy and bun was great. Fries were outstanding as well. However, no extra scoop of fries like 5 Guys...

Decent burger. Similar idea to 5 guys though the topping selection is more limited. I kind of felt like the meat in the burger was a bit bland though my husband said it was better than 5 guys because it was less oily. Onion rings were great!

  • Jim L.

Found Burger Bros thanks to Yelp and it was great. We had the bacon cheeseburgers with Onion Rings and it was great. The onion rings were nice and hot and had a good flavor. We enjoyed our burgers as well. There is a good choice of cheese for the burgers. You can't always get Feta for your burgers. They do have turkey burgers, fish and chips, salads and fries. Birch beer on the fountain soda is a nice choice if you are a fan like I am.

Their turkey burger was UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am soooooooooooo glad that my husband and i decided to stop here. This will most definitely be a place that I come back to (over & over again)!!!

I had never heard of Burger Bros., but being that I work in the heart of Towson, many of my co-workers told me about this business. One sunny day I decided to take the small trek to try, what I was told to be, "the best turkey burger ever". Usually when people make claims like that, I am hesitant. I have been told many times "Best ____ EVAR!" and have been very disappointed. Not this time! It really was the BEST TURKEY BURGER EVAR. Very juicy and not dried out like most lackluster turkey burgers suffer from. I was also pleasantly surprised to find they offer boardwalk style fries and soda in glass bottles (a personal fave). I don't get to come here often, but when I do, it's heaven. I haven't actually tried a regular burger from them, but I'm sure they are also delish.

I try to go down to Burger Bros about once a week. Freshly grilled, fresh ingredients and nice people. Really like the burger with bacon and cheese. The fries are freshly cut and fried and the onion rings are crispy and the onions don't pull out. Not too long ago they got a milkshake machine - pretty good stuff. Highly recommend.

This is a great place for a quality "fast food" burger. Big greasy patty, doughy toasted bun, all the toppings you can come up with (like 5 guys), and yummy house made fries. They make a very tasty burger, but I'm not sure I can say it's the best ever. I guess I have high west coast burger standards (what I like: organic meat, cooked to order, artisan bread, wild mushrooms, and specialty cheeses.) But of all the greasy burger places I've sampled in the area, this place is very very good. Corner Stable was my other fave. The place was packed, and we didn't show up right at noon. It must be a zoo with the weekly lunch crowd! Definitely worth a try if you are craving a good greasy burger.

Just going to toss this out there. This is the first review I've written on Yelp and only because I feel like the smaller, lesser-known places need to be written about. I'm a foodie, and more specifically, I love the cheeseburger. I've eaten at many burger joints: Abby, Kooper's, Poncabird Pub, Five Guys', In-N-Out, the whole 9 yards. Have you ever been to a burger joint and wish that they would make a burger like you do at home? On a grill, not a griddle? This place is your answer. While they do cook on gas (I'm sure there are tons of regulations on cooking over wood or charcoal, or perhaps cost restraints), it's one of the rare places which actually cooks using a grill. And you can taste it in every delicious bite. The place is very no-frills. None of that weird, crazy stuff like "garlic areole infused bun with butter and herb onions with mushrooms picked from the side of Everest" nonsense. You get a burger, a bun, and your choice of regular, normal toppings. Mushrooms, Bacon, Onions (Red), Caramelized Onions, Ketchup, Mustard, Pickles, Lettuce, etc. Is it the best burger in Baltimore? I'm not entirely sure, but it ranks up there. It is definitely the best burger I've had in Towson. Skip the Five Guys and McDonalds down the road--come here for a REAL cheeseburger.

    (5)
  • Paul S.

Hands down, best burger in Baltimore. They make Five Guys taste like McDonald Happy Meal burgers. Too bad they don't have a location in the city. While there are some reputable bars downtown with decent burgers, none of them come close to what you get with these guys.

    (5)
  • Paul S.

The place may not look like much, but the quality and care in the food is amazing! Juicy, tasty burgers. If you like cheese on your burger you can choose which kind you want rather than just plain American. They offer other great toppings like caramelized onions that taste sweet and delicious. If you have a big appetite the burger patties are only about 6oz. so paying for an extra patty is worth it! The fries are fresh, crispy, and tasty.. A small order is more than enough for one person. They make a raspberry lemonade that's fresh too, its nice especially on a hot day. This will be one of the regular places I'll like going to. I guarantee you'll love it.

Based on the Yelp reviews, we were expecting a burger more along the lines of the fast-food style you'd get from Five Guys, Z-Burger and other comparable joints. Instead, they resembled gourmet-style burgs, and were, dare we say, pretty. Preconceived notions aside, the burgers looked good and we so wanted to love them, but sadly, they missed on a few key fronts. The first problem was not being given the option of getting the burgers cooked to order. Even though we knew to expect well-done patties (and, to be fair, they were cooked decently enough on the charbroil grill), being fans of rare/medium rare , it was still disappointing. And it's not like these were thin patties either; the burgers were chunky, six-ounce hunks of beef. But, alas, not a spot of pink was to be found. While there was a noticeable crust on the burgers from the grill, the usual accompanying char flavor was weak. The meat needed more seasoning too; a pinch or two more salt and pepper would have helped a lot. Despite its flaws, Burger Bros. wasn't bad by any means. It's a perfectly passable and solid burger. The toppings were on point with crispy bacon, thoroughly-melted cheese and tasty caramelized onions. And the buns also got high marks from the Crew as the toasted, brioche-style bread was light, fluffy and provided good stability throughout the meal. The whole thing was just missing that something that makes a good burger stand out from the rest. It reminded us a lot of Foster's Grill: a straight-from-the-backyard-grill burger; but in this case, someone turned down the volume on flavor. Along with the burgers, we got a taste of both their onion rings and fries. The rings were decent enough, but we suggest giving them a pass and opting just for the fries. The skin-on, fresh-cut, boardwalk-style spuds were sufficiently salted and greasy. They were really good and the available malted vinegar on the side made them that much better. Another plus for Burger Bros. are the prices. The six-ounce bacon cheeseburger is just $5.99 and you can load it up with an sizable selection of free toppings including caramelized onions, jalapenos and sauerkraut. On the side, a generously-sized small order of fries is a bargain at less than two bucks. More on Burger Bros, including pics: burgerdays.com/not-so-su…

Although the food was good, it wasn't GREAT in my opinion. I'd still rather go to Gino's or Five Guys for my high-dollar burger fix. But I guess if you're local with no means of easy transport (work in the ares, student, etc) this would be the best burger place in the area.

Absolutely great burgers and fries! My wife and I stopped in here for a quick dinner the other night after reading the great reviews on here. Everyone was right on the money. The burgers and fries are all made fresh to order. There is a great list of toppings and cheeses to choose from. I went with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and caramelized onions on a turkey burger. My wife had a cheese burger with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mayo and mustard. Let me say that this was quite possibly the best turkey burger I've eaten. It was juicy and seasoned perfectly. The toppings were all fresh and crisp. No need to add ketcup or any other condiments for me. It didn't need it. My wife's burger was messy, but great as well. The burger was cooked to just above medium and was very juicy. We shared an order of fries as well. They were also excellent. They had a nice crunch on the outside, but were soft and warm on the inside. These were skin on style, which I greatly prefer so I can tell it came from an actual potato. All of this for $17! Crazy! We will most definitely be back. To make it even better, you can go there on a Friday in the summer and hit up Towson's Feet on the Street concert series.

Fantastic burgers, I usually go once or twice a week for a late lunch. I always call ahead and get carryout. The burgers are always cooked right, with enough of whatever toppings I want to make me happy. My only wish is that I remember to order two because I always want another after I finish the one I ordered.

This is our favorite burger place ever. We also looked at reviews and saw the chicken was just as good, and, they were right. I now, actually get, the chicken salad every time I go. It's actually awesome. I don't know why, but it is. I mean, the chicken is definitely good and it's the same chicken that goes on the sandwiches. Cooked fresh, then sliced and put on top fresh greens and other veggies with yummy croutons. Really nice. The onion rings and fries are also quite yummy.

Seriously? This hasn't been reviewed yet. Sometimes the madness of this world is just to much to handle. Want a Five Guys burger, but want it to taste better and support a small business in the process. Burger Brothers is your place. The concept is similar. Tasty burgers with toasted buns and lots of toppings. Bacon Cheeseburger with BBQ sauce, jalapeno, pepper jack cheese, sauteed onions, lettuce, and tomato is my person favorite. The fries rock too and tend to be not as greasy as Five Guys.

Great value and great burger! love that they serve onion rings as well. Will visit again next time i'm in the area.

Good burgers (good buns/rolls - which helps the burger), great fries, friendly staff. Not much more you can say. It's made with more care than a place like Five Guys - not quite as greasy - but still a "burger joint".

  • Maya T.

Their burgers are excellent for well done burgers. They show that a burger cooked through can still be juicy and flavorful. You can tell that the person behind the grill has a passion for burgers, because he goes the extra mile to make them good and seems to have put a lot of thought into it. The edges of the patty are slight charred, which gives a nice texture. The buns are really, really good. They're soft, and have that slight sweetness to them potato buns tend to have (they seem like a cross between a while and a potato bun). The bun is also warm and toasted! Giving that little bit of crunch on the edges while the center remains nice and soft. The toppings are all top quality, which is really nice to see. Thick juicy slices of tomatoes, fresh lettuce, and most importantly very thick slices of the best bacon I've had. There's no skimping, it's good stuff. I can only imagine that having them medium or medium rare would put them over the top. Onion Rings are a bit too greasy but the fries are good.

    (4)
  • Nick S.

Onion rings and fries are the fantastic. Burgers are skinny, well done patties. Dont let the ratings fool you, this isnt a restaurant. It is a 5 guys, a pool bbq type of burger. The potato bun is overwhelming and for good reason, because the burger itself is not good. Yeah it may be cheap but id much rather pay the 10-12 bucks for a burger i can sink my teeth into rather than save a few here.

  • Stephen C.

Gourmet hamburgers, what else can I say ? I would put Burger bros in the same category as 5 guys, except head to head I would say burgers bros is slightly better. Where five guys has two smaller patties, Burger bros gives you one larger beef pattie. You can tell they source quality ground beef as their burgers are simply great. If you care about quality burgers , skip the fast food and give this place a try.

burger looked great. Ordered the basic with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapenos, grilled onions & bbq sauce with an order of small fries. Served on a cookie tray (clever) - it looked lovely. Fresh looking roll, bibb lettuce. Fries are solid, nothing unusual but very good. Burger was overcooked for my taste, but that was also on me for not requesting a lighter hand. Ingredients were well prepared, just wanted more juice from that burger. will try again & request rare next time.

On day 3 of the power outage, when the downtown Towson area had power back but the South Towson residential areas did not, hubbie and I went over to Burger Bros. We ordered the same burgers we always ordered and got sick. I can only speculate they used meat that was on the cusp of turning and that it caused us to get sick. Guys, you have a great reputation. Please don't ruin it by putting profits ahead of the health and well being of your customers.

In some the case of some restaurants KISS (keep is simple stupid) should be the way to go. In the case of Burger Bros this is the mantra that works time and time again. Simply burgers. Ridiculous in size and amazing in taste. Heaps of toppings to choose from and the hand cut fries are awesome. The ambiance is like the food simple. But it is always clean and welcoming. Free WiFi is a nice plus. This is a great little place in the heart of Towson. One warning, load up on napkins and tuck your tie because these are super JUICY burgers. This place gets five stars because it delivers everything it says. Great burgers. Highly Recommended!

This should be a brochure for reasons to go to Towson University, b/c most of the other college food-esque place in this area kinda suck, save the holy beacon of Trader Joe's. The burger is freshly grilled (with fire and everything), the meat patty is wonderfully juicy with a nice crunchy crust, perfect medium and pink on the inside. The toppings are many, including a variety of cheeses and all delicious. They offer a punch card for getting your 11 burger free, and student discounts on Tuesdays (my old Rutgers ID still worked). But gimmicks aside the burger is really all you need.

I have been meaning to write a review for a while as my husband and I have been hooked on Burger Bros. since first moving to Towson -3 yrs ago. Good quality burgers! Great fries, and fantastic owners and staff. Love this place, and love supporting a local small business!!! If you haven't tried them yet, DO IT!

Who do you love more? Your aunt who nags about you not showering for a week? Or your mom who loves you no matter what? In any event, these burgers are decent, and big. The meat is juicy but doesn't have that x factor to make it great. The staff are okay, some are nice some don't acknowledge your existence. Its street parking, which doesn't help matters, but thats downtown Towson near the circle. Would I go back here? Yes, if I was in Towson & desperate for a good burger. Key word: desperate

The fried chicken sandwich was delicious. The buns are not of the usual variety, but are tasty and delicious. The meat was fresh. I highly recommend visiting this place if you're around the Towson area.

Everything I've had from here has been delicious, including the portabella sandwich. I love that they take their time making my food, cooking it to perfection and making sure the order is correct. Great food, great service. Yum...

Good burger. Nice people. Bacon cheeseburger is about as expensive as any quality burger joint. Its totally different from F guys because it isnt as cut and dry. For instance you can have more than just burgers and fries. Its not a chain so the owner/manager is always there cooking and trying to make his customers happy. If your in the towson area and want a good burer try burger bros.

My husband and I were off to see a week night movie and wanted a quick bite to eat before hand. We had both heard of this place but hadn't had the chance to try it. So we thought this was the perfect night. We both got the Bacon Cheeseburger ($5.99) and added our favorite toppings such as mustard, ketchup, mayo, pickles, and caramelized onions. They were very good. However, it was a bit on the sloppy side (at least mine was because I had more topping added then he did). I will say that next time I would either not get the caramelized onions or ask for a smaller portion of them- it seemed to be a bit over powering. Overall, we both agreed that they were very good and equal to Five Guys Burger and Fries. We also ordered a large Fresh-cut Spuds that are Genuine Idaho potatoes, hand-cut and prepared fresh daily ($3.79). IT was HUGE! We hardly even made it half way through it. I think a large serves 3-4 people. The fries were very good (and I love my fries). My husband thought they weren't as good as Five Guys Burger and Fries. The place had great colors on the walls but other than that was basic and simple. I will say the construction that the town was doing outside did hinder the appeal of a window seat. Next time I would like to try some wings and a salad. I would give this place 4 stars out of 5 for a burger joint.

The burgers here are great! I think they are better than 5 Guys. Oh and you HAVE to get the fries! They are so GOOD!

If you're looking for a good burger that is homemade, while you wait (and you will, as of it is fresh), then Burger Bros is right for you. Besides burgers they make fries, wings, salads, and a few other standard menu items for a carryout. The best part about the burgers is that all toppings are free and they have a whole bunch. Also, if you bring your computer or PDA, they have free wifi if you bought something. Park across Alegheny in the metered lot or on the street.

Good burgers. Nice variety of toppings. Decor is plain and uninspired. Great value. A locally owned burger joint that competes with Five Guys, and significantly better than Gino's,

Awesome burgers and fries. Really tasty meat patties and the buns are buttered and crisped on the grill. Nice guys behind the counter. Only drawback is the dining area which is kind of drab and crowded during peak hours. Big plus is the Fanta Birch Beer from the fountain is a treat that you don't see very often. There's enough variety on the menu that there's plenty choices for those who are not in the mood for a burger. A little pricey but not so bad that I won't go back for more on a regular basis.

When my husband and I moved to the area we wanted a good burger and this was mentioned to us. I can just say the burgers there are AWESOME!!! I love me some food (especially good food). The fries are fresh and I believe are real potatoes they are delicious. If you are ever nearby you need to try a burger from their menu.

Burgers are AMAZING!!! My boyfriend and I drive an hour for them.... they are THAT good. But the establishment could use some work. Like perhaps HEAT in the winter time, employees with a sweatshirt underneath their uniform because its 30 degrees in there is a bit tacky. People love you.... love them back a little. (wear gloves) ;)
