I love this place for many reasons. I am a locavore (I prefer restaurants that serve locally sourced organic food). The menu, although not deep, is thoughtful and highly delicious. Keep in mind, seating is limited, so if you want to stay for a meal, arrive early or late (breakfast or lunch). There is a drive through option and a hidden herb garden near the drive through. The service is nice, patient and attentive. I could sit here for hours. Love it!

It's a convenient place to meet someone for lunch, which is probably why it's so busy. The food is always thoughtful with unique touches and the menu changes daily. I've enjoyed their chicken salad before, but this time went basic with a three-cheese and bacon grilled cheese sandwich. Couldn't have been more delicious! And it came with slices of local apple, which just complement it perfectly. The soups are always yummy and the desserts are hard to resist. My only complaints are the wait for a table at lunch (especially bad when the weather's too cold for the outdoor seating) and not having soda. I know, no soda can be a good thing, but sometimes I want a Coke with my lunch. Although it "forced" meto get apple cider, so it's really not that big of a complaint. And though the sandwiches are less than $10, I wouldn't consider it a cheap place to eat. When I spend $13 for a grilled cheese sandwich with juice, it's not cheap.

Atwater's is a tiny place near the Kenilworth Shopping Center, off Kenilworth Road. The menu is pretty small and is limited to a selection of soups, salads and sandwiches, plus some baked goods. The setup is a little odd - some tables outside (I can't eat outside when it's 90 degrees and sunny) and a scattering of high tops and very small tables with uncomfortable modern wooden benches and chairs inside. We each ordered a soup and half sandwich combo. I had the chilled gazpacho, which was amazing! Nothing like gazpacho to cool you off on a hot day. For my half sandwich I had the hummus and veggie combo, which featured tomatoes, red onion, romaine and cucumbers, served with some great homemade pickle slices. Atwater's makes their own bread, and this particular sandwich was served on sunflower bread, thick sliced and oh so delicious! Others at our table had chicken salad with almonds, and asparagus and hummus. I had a taste of each, and both were wonderful. Nice to know that deep in the heart of Towson - fried food capital of MD - you can get something healthy and delicious. I wish I had found Atwater's earlier. Oh - and I forgot all about the uncomfortable seating once I started eating!

The food was great...until my mom and I found hairs in BOTH of our dishes . There was a hair on my moms plate and a hair on my sandwich. Our waitress wasn't very friendly. My mom ordered a pecan pie with her lunch and she said, "sure, why not?". As if she shouldn't have it. Although I saw some of the other waitresses and they seemed very friendly and accommodating. However, I think with a nicer waitress...and less hair, it would have been a very enjoyable meal.

I was out getting some last minute teach stuff at Learning How and since I have the house to myself this weekend I thought I would try Atwater's new location out. I got a 1/2 of a B.A.L.T. ($4.95)- Nueske Bacon, Avocado, Fresh Tomato, Garlic Mayonnaise & Green Leaf Lettuce Served on Country White. All the ingredients were fresh and very tasty. The bacon was perfect and the mayo had a nice flavor. I also got a cup of Red Pepper & Peanut with Shrimp & Crab (Szechuan Beans) $4.50. It had a nice kick to it. The peanuts were a bit harder than I expected. Overall, it was good. At the end my mouth was a bit tingly with heat. The service was quick and friendly. And as always the food was good.

I didn't see the other reviews before visiting Atwater's and maybe they just had an off day, but I was there earlier this week and was underwhelmed. The sandwich was okay, but both the Black Bean and Md. Shrimp soups served to the table were weak and essentially flavorless. There are a lot of dining options in the area, so it will be a while before I return to Atwater's.

Good soup and great bread! It's a healthy place that provides a good portion of soup/salad/sandwiches. The sandwiches fall under the 'artisan' category. The bread is fresh and thick, so really you can get a half sandwich and soup and should be good to go! There are only seats for about 20 people inside and a few more outside (weather permitting). Behold! they have a drive-thru!!! It's not fast though, so keep the NPR/WTMD going while you wait. I don't think they salt their food enough, but you can do so, to taste and enjoy!

I'm writing this review with wholesome passion just as how people here make their food. I've loved everything I've tried at various Atwater's locations: artisan coffee, bah mi sandwich, pot pie, gourmet soups, brunch, handmade ice cream, etc. Even the sides are made of high quality. If homemade heartiness and dinning worthy delicacy can coexist, this is where it is found. Atwater's is much more than my favorite coffee shop, pastry shop, sandwich place, etc. It's the best of it all so I find myself comfortable here any time of the day. One rule of thumb I can offer would be to try anything that interests you on the menu, you won't be disappointed because their consistency in delivering quality food. If I have to choose one item on their menu to recommend, it would be the soups accompanied with the best bread I can dream of. Yum...

New favorite place! Everything is fresh and fame to table. So far I have tried several items and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. I love the atmosphere and they also have a drive thru for limited items. I recommend the veggie Reuben and turkey pesto. Anything you try will be worth the trip to this great place!

I will start with: great chicken soup. I am never disappointed in the random soups I order, but the chicken is awesome. Just had the beef barley today and that was great too. The sandwiches are good. The half sandwiches make me feel like a giant that fell out of the beanstalk. I'm a tiny person, but these sandwiches (especially) half sizes make an uppity tiny triangle tea sandwich look like a Subway footlong. I get it. You're all organic and have good healthy ingredients, but your food isn't made of gold. Add a bit more to the portions. I've had the chicken salad, turkey (some variation), tofu banh mi today, and some other random ones. All have good flavor. Why am I giving them three stars? Their customer service is nice. Drive thru is surprisingly fast. But guess what? If I'm going to spend $6 on a freakin coffee drink, attempt to make it right. Humor me at least. A 16oz soy chai with an espresso shot became the most depressing whole milk latte I've ever tasted. No chai. No flavor. No soy. And it tasted more like a half shot of espresso. I was so excited to write a rave review. But today I am just sad I spent $30 and ended up this tired and hungry.

Got 1/2 the Portabella mushroom sandwich n 1/2 the chicken salad sandwich...both bread crusts were sooo hard!!! 1 was toasted, 1 was not...tasty sandwiches comes with a pickle. Small restaurant with plenty of parking available but may not have seating for larger groups. They do however have a drive thru.

Inside Atwater's is surprisingly cozy and is in the parking lot of the Shops at Kenilworth. I loved my salad with the scoop of chicken salad. I would definitely go back for that but will opt for a bigger salad! Also had the mushroom and barley soup which was disappointing because it was under seasoned. My SO ordered the chicken pot pie which was flavored well, but dry, and he said it was the size of a hockey puck. He ordered the beef and mushroom soup which had large chunks of mushroom and beef. I would definitely come back except Atwater's can you please give us some softer bread with the soup?!

I could keep this simple and say that every meal they have served me has been a hit. It's not the technical elegance of a 5-star restaurant. The feeling of a local place focused on quality and freshness makes this a favorite. The artisan breads with fresh soups. Wonderful, friendly servers. They just do it right. This is my second time here and the food is pretty good. As soon as you walk in it kind of reminds you of Panera or a similar bakery/cafe style but they do wait on you if you sit down. The people there were not the most friendly but they weren't rude either. They're just blah. Both times I went they didn't seem happy to be there or eager to help. I ordered the Minestrone soup which was tasty and the chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was definitely my favorite! I also ordered the refreshing iced green mint tea. My total was over $15 which is definitely on the pricy side. Because of the service and the food I gave it 3 stars. Food was good, but so is Panera's. I was hoping to try something that would keep me coming back.

If it weren't for the prices I would come here for lunch everyday! The soups are AMAZING... My usual is to get half a sandwich and a cup of soup and it averages to about $10 or a little more. They are known for local ingredients and it really shows! Which is why paying top dollar isn't that bad on an occasion. The chicken salad sandwich is always a favorite. Even the simple B.A.L.T. (bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato) is delicious with the reddest juiciest tomatoes! Only complaint is that it is a tiny venue, I almost always get it to go because getting a table is close to impossible. There were lots of people waiting when I got their for lunch last week. However, the ambiance is great here! Always busy, yet comforting and inviting. Oh and did I mention that they change their menu regularly and it is different based on what location you go to? The chicken salad is usually always on the menu, but the rest of the sandwiches and soups change regularly, even on a daily basis. But there is always something there that will catch your eye!

First time here and with my mom. Food reviews first. Mom got the shrimp and corn chowder. She said it was very good but not a classic chowder. It did have whole shrimp in it, so no skimping there. I got the ham and cheese biscuit. Sweet fancy moses. That was awesome. Salty ham and cheese with sweet raspberry jam on a cheddar biscuit. Just fabulous. Picked up the lemon pound cake bites. Good but not amazing. My mom makes better. This place is small and feels chaotic. There is very little room to stand when waiting. It's not highly visible that you don't seat yourself. Don't even think of bringing a stroller. I'd go again but not near lunch so you don't feel rushed.

I've always been somewhat underwhelmed by their sandwiches and the one I just tried, the Cuban Revolution was no exception. The only revolution in this sandwich came from my tastebuds. The sandwich had very little flavor, almost as if they just through a bunch of cold cuts together with some mustard, pickles, and cheese and dubbed it a cuban sandwich. The bread, while toasted, became soggy rapidly because of its thinness. I would advise anyone that has had a real cuban sandwich to steer clear of this creation.

Don't miss out on weekend brunch! Service was quick and friendly despite the place being nearly packed. Cinnamon banana pancakes were thick and fluffy - highly recommend for banana lovers. Great spot! Terrific "Arugula Salad" with chicken salad (amazing) added, which included pomegranate seeds and tangerine slices. All the trimmings and arugula were very fresh. The dressing was a citrus vinaigrette that was excellent. A small octaganol gem on the North side of Baltimore in the parking lot of a mixed commercial strip mall setting. There is a drive thru (which seemed to be clearing cars quickly. Inside are a tightly packed cluster of seats and counter service in a very cozy setting that 'smelled' delicious. The drink cooler had a nice selection of non-standard cold teas and other drinks. Counter service was very quick. I will definitely visit again if in the area.

Atwaters has really spread their goodness over the Baltimore area. Originally, there was one restaurant/bakery in Belvedere Square and then they started to branch out. This one took over a former bank which was designed and built in the shape of an octagon (I can't remember how many sides there are since I'm usually overwhelmed by the smell of bread and coffee). The Kenilworth Atwaters has limited seating with about 15 tables indoors and 4 outside. If you want a table, try to get their before or after the lunch rush or you may have to wait for a table. Overall, awesome artisanal breads, baked goods, granola and anything that comes out of their oven. Of course, the coffee is fantastic, can't have a bread/pastry/carb without coffee? If you are dining, try the menu of sandwiches, salads or soups. Today, I had the breakfast sandwich which is an egg omelet, topped with hardwood smoked bacon and melted cheddar cheese on a nice, hearty flax bread. This is what I call breakfast!!! Last week, I had the gazpacho and it was fantastic. Chunky bits of tomato, cucumber, green onion topped with avocado and their croutons. It's heaven on a hot summer day. You can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches. I enjoyed half a banh mi pork sandwich (Vietnamese style sandwich). A sliced pork, layered with shredded carrots, cucumbers and a tangy sauce on a chewy baguette. Plus they served the sandwich with these spicy, sweet pickles on the side. Perfect! The service is wonderful. When I come in for breakfast, I get the same server. She is fantastic, efficient and funny. She always anticipates what I may need.

You can order anything off the menu at Atwaters and it will be fantastic. The portions are perfect, the quality incredible and prices modest. I love going here to met friends for a cup of coffee and breakfast or for a business lunch. My only complaint is that it is crowded and has limited space for tables. I love this place. It has been a pleasure to come to this place over the last few years. I usually get a different soup every time, and I have never had one I did not like and the chicken salad is like no other. I also enjoy the crusty bread with the olive oil. I often come at dinner time after work to unwind. The service is great.. The waitresses and waiters are all exceptional and Josh, the sexy waiter is an extra treat for the eyes. He is so accomodating, and not overbearing,always smiling and creates a good atmoshpere. My only problems is I wish they had some better desserts like fresh pumpkin pie or wonderful cookies. Not that impressed with the desserts. If there was an Atwaters in Timonium, I probably would be there every day.

Fantastic, fresh breads. Good sandwiches. Great soups. Atwater's is a fantastic place for a light (or not so light) Saturday lunch. Flavors and ingredients are fresh, the menu sticks to well-executed basics, and many if not most of the ingredients are locally sourced. The space is a bit odd and small, having been a bank branch at one point, and it gets packed at lunch time. Outdoor seating is available, which is OK in nice weather, but it primarily boundaries and overlooks the parking lot. Service is pretty efficient and competent. Large groups will be a problem, as the dining area is cramped and the largest tables seat 4-5. The high ceilings of the building help offset the close quarters, though. On a hot day, the cold, freshly prepared gazpacho really hits the spot - tomato puree, cool cucumber, onion, and basil combine well in this not-at-all-watery version. Hot soups range from chicken prepared with locally-raised, free range birds to vegan roasted vegetable. All are served in generous portions (a cup here is the size of a bowl-sized serving anywhere else) along with a big chunk of crusty, fresh bread. Sandwiches are offered in halves and wholes, and though a bit pricey are pretty hefty, served on more of Atwater's own breads, and are accompanied by tart homemade dill pickle slices. Fresh brewed iced tea, coffees, teas, and specialty sodas are available. When you're done, the mini-eclairs are perfect little puffs of pastry filled with light cream (not heavy custard) and glazed with a rich chocolate ganache. Don't forget to make a stop up front on the way out and take some freshly baked bread home with you - the cranberry walnut and kalamata olive sourdough are delicious.

Our party ordered a variety of sandwiches, soups, and brunch items. They were all delicious, especially the chicken salad sandwich and the spicy red bean and sausage soup (which was not actually very spicy but still quite tasty). The mint tea was also very refreshing. One of our friends is pretty picky about her food and had a bunch of substitutions/special requests, but the server took it in stride and was totally cool with it. Overall, the service is great and the food is tasty/comforting. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because nothing about the restaurant is mindblowing --it's definitely good, but not so special that I rave about it afterward, which is my requirement for 5 star ratings. Still, it is a solid choice for brunch/lunch!

I can't think of this place without my mouth watering. If this place were closer to work, I would eat here all the time! One must drive at extremely unsafe speeds to get here and back to work in Hunt Valley in under an hour, but it's SOOOOOO worth it! My friend said that I had to try the CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH. I don't even like chicken salad! In fact, mayo based sandwich fillers scare me. BUT this one is different. There has very little mayo in it, and it has the perfect crunchy sweetness from apples and dried fruit. I love it. It's seriously THE BEST chicken salad EVER! And did I mention that it's served on their yummy homemade bread? Wow wow wow - so so good! The half sandwich with soup combo is wonderful. They make their soups in house as well.....and the desserts are wonderful as well! There is limited seating in this place, and we had to wait ten minutes for a table. I would highly recommend getting here early if you are in a hurry, or order take out. Maybe Atwaters will read this and open a new shop in Hunt Valley to save Maryland citizens from me and my speeding friends. hint hint nudge nudge. :-)

I was out getting some last minute teach stuff at Learning How and since I have the house to myself this weekend I thought I would try Atwater's new location out. I got a 1/2 of a B.A.L.T. ($4.95)- Nueske Bacon, Avocado, Fresh Tomato, Garlic Mayonnaise & Green Leaf Lettuce Served on Country White. All the ingredients were fresh and very tasty. The bacon was perfect and the mayo had a nice flavor. I also got a cup of Red Pepper & Peanut with Shrimp & Crab (Szechuan Beans) $4.50. It had a nice kick to it. The peanuts were a bit harder than I expected. Overall, it was good. At the end my mouth was a bit tingly with heat. The service was quick and friendly. And as always the food was good.

Sweet potato sandwich was a perfect light and satisfying meal! Arrived at 12:15 on a friday and it was packed. Waited 20 minutes to be seated. That's a tough wait for a workday lunch but well worth it because the food is awesome and service is superb.

I didn't see the other reviews before visiting Atwater's and maybe they just had an off day, but I was there earlier this week and was underwhelmed. The sandwich was okay, but both the Black Bean and Md. Shrimp soups served to the table were weak and essentially flavorless. There are a lot of dining options in the area, so it will be a while before I return to Atwater's.

Good soup and great bread! It's a healthy place that provides a good portion of soup/salad/sandwiches. The sandwiches fall under the 'artisan' category. The bread is fresh and thick, so really you can get a half sandwich and soup and should be good to go! There are only seats for about 20 people inside and a few more outside (weather permitting). Behold! they have a drive-thru!!! It's not fast though, so keep the NPR/WTMD going while you wait. I don't think they salt their food enough, but you can do so, to taste and enjoy!

I'm writing this review with wholesome passion just as how people here make their food. I've loved everything I've tried at various Atwater's locations: artisan coffee, bah mi sandwich, pot pie, gourmet soups, brunch, handmade ice cream, etc. Even the sides are made of high quality. If homemade heartiness and dinning worthy delicacy can coexist, this is where it is found. Atwater's is much more than my favorite coffee shop, pastry shop, sandwich place, etc. It's the best of it all so I find myself comfortable here any time of the day. One rule of thumb I can offer would be to try anything that interests you on the menu, you won't be disappointed because their consistency in delivering quality food. If I have to choose one item on their menu to recommend, it would be the soups accompanied with the best bread I can dream of. Yum...

New favorite place! Everything is fresh and fame to table. So far I have tried several items and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. I love the atmosphere and they also have a drive thru for limited items. I recommend the veggie Reuben and turkey pesto. Anything you try will be worth the trip to this great place!

I will start with: great chicken soup. I am never disappointed in the random soups I order, but the chicken is awesome. Just had the beef barley today and that was great too. The sandwiches are good. The half sandwiches make me feel like a giant that fell out of the beanstalk. I'm a tiny person, but these sandwiches (especially) half sizes make an uppity tiny triangle tea sandwich look like a Subway footlong. I get it. You're all organic and have good healthy ingredients, but your food isn't made of gold. Add a bit more to the portions. I've had the chicken salad, turkey (some variation), tofu banh mi today, and some other random ones. All have good flavor. Why am I giving them three stars? Their customer service is nice. Drive thru is surprisingly fast. But guess what? If I'm going to spend $6 on a freakin coffee drink, attempt to make it right. Humor me at least. A 16oz soy chai with an espresso shot became the most depressing whole milk latte I've ever tasted. No chai. No flavor. No soy. And it tasted more like a half shot of espresso. I was so excited to write a rave review. But today I am just sad I spent $30 and ended up this tired and hungry.

Got 1/2 the Portabella mushroom sandwich n 1/2 the chicken salad sandwich...both bread crusts were sooo hard!!! 1 was toasted, 1 was not...tasty sandwiches comes with a pickle. Small restaurant with plenty of parking available but may not have seating for larger groups. They do however have a drive thru.

Inside Atwater's is surprisingly cozy and is in the parking lot of the Shops at Kenilworth. I loved my salad with the scoop of chicken salad. I would definitely go back for that but will opt for a bigger salad! Also had the mushroom and barley soup which was disappointing because it was under seasoned. My SO ordered the chicken pot pie which was flavored well, but dry, and he said it was the size of a hockey puck. He ordered the beef and mushroom soup which had large chunks of mushroom and beef. I would definitely come back except Atwater's can you please give us some softer bread with the soup?!

You make Timonium exciting for me !! My fav place in the timonium-hunt valley-Towson area .. Love love love this place .. Where do I start !! Of course the lovely staff - Brooke is the sweetest .. Then the food is so tasty and healthy (seldom do I not have to add spices to my food and this place tops the list of those places) .. Soups, sandwiches,salads - everything is lip smacking .. I love their collection of breads and chocolates (dark chocolate lovers - it's addictive) .. I also like their coffee .. This place seems to have been made for me .. Only request - please extend your hours this summer. I went there last Wednesday at 7:50 and it was just closed (where else can I get my best vegan soup ever !!)

I could keep this simple and say that every meal they have served me has been a hit. It's not the technical elegance of a 5-star restaurant. The feeling of a local place focused on quality and freshness makes this a favorite. The artisan breads with fresh soups. Wonderful, friendly servers. They just do it right. Also, while the parts are good, they manage to be even more than the sum. Go. Do yourself a favor.

This is my second time here and the food is pretty good. As soon as you walk in it kind of reminds you of Panera or a similar bakery/cafe style but they do wait on you if you sit down. The people there were not the most friendly but they weren't rude either. They're just blah. Both times I went they didn't seem happy to be there or eager to help. I ordered the Minestrone soup which was tasty and the chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was definitely my favorite! I also ordered the refreshing iced green mint tea. My total was over $15 which is definitely on the pricy side. Because of the service and the food I gave it 3 stars. Food was good, but so is Panera's. I was hoping to try something that would keep me coming back.

As a vegetarian I was amazed at how many options they had. Loved the potato salad. The black bean burger with pickle relish was absolutely selfish. The grilled portobello sandwich had great flavor a, but the vegetarian pie lacked, it was dry(portion size super small). Very friendly/ attentive service. So why only 4*, portion size.

If it weren't for the prices I would come here for lunch everyday! The soups are AMAZING... My usual is to get half a sandwich and a cup of soup and it averages to about $10 or a little more. They are known for local ingredients and it really shows! Which is why paying top dollar isn't that bad on an occasion. The chicken salad sandwich is always a favorite. Even the simple B.A.L.T. (bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato) is delicious with the reddest juiciest tomatoes! Only complaint is that it is a tiny venue, I almost always get it to go because getting a table is close to impossible. There were lots of people waiting when I got their for lunch last week. However, the ambiance is great here! Always busy, yet comforting and inviting. Oh and did I mention that they change their menu regularly and it is different based on what location you go to? The chicken salad is usually always on the menu, but the rest of the sandwiches and soups change regularly, even on a daily basis. But there is always something there that will catch your eye!

First time here and with my mom. Food reviews first. Mom got the shrimp and corn chowder. She said it was very good but not a classic chowder. It did have whole shrimp in it, so no skimping there. I got the ham and cheese biscuit. Sweet fancy moses. That was awesome. Salty ham and cheese with sweet raspberry jam on a cheddar biscuit. Just fabulous. Picked up the lemon pound cake bites. Good but not amazing. My mom makes better. This place is small and feels chaotic. There is very little room to stand when waiting. It's not highly visible that you don't seat yourself. Don't even think of bringing a stroller. I'd go again but not near lunch so you don't feel rushed.

Oh how I love Atwater's!!! The chicken salad is to die for, they have the best iced green mint tea, and fabulous desserts!! My favorite place for breakfast and lunch and the best place to take visitors from out of town. Ever since I moved to San Diego, I miss Atwater's so much!!!

I've always been somewhat underwhelmed by their sandwiches and the one I just tried, the Cuban Revolution was no exception. The only revolution in this sandwich came from my tastebuds. The sandwich had very little flavor, almost as if they just through a bunch of cold cuts together with some mustard, pickles, and cheese and dubbed it a cuban sandwich. The bread, while toasted, became soggy rapidly because of its thinness. I would advise anyone that has had a real cuban sandwich to steer clear of this creation.

Don't miss out on weekend brunch! Service was quick and friendly despite the place being nearly packed. Cinnamon banana pancakes were thick and fluffy - highly recommend for banana lovers. Eggs were decent and the bacon was crisp, but what nearly stole the show was the multigrain toast! Fresh and flavorful.. Will have to come back to try it with a soup.

I can never get enough! I want to petition atwaters to open in Boston so I'll be able to have it other than when I'm home visiting family!!' I've never had anything that wasn't exceptional and fresh. The salads are beautiful, soups are out of this world amazing, and the sandwiches are heaven-particularly the 3 cheese and bacon, my guilty pleasure! All the desserts are unreal. I mean seriously, there is nothing negative to be said. Atwaters is the perfect lunch or dinner spot.

Bacon! First time visitor and had breakfast on a saturday afternoon. The Atwater eggs were good with outstanding 5 star bacon and an incredible collection of fresh fruit (apple, pear, grapefruit, orange, berries). The toast was a great whole wheat. A regular tipped me off that it came with one slice and I ought to order a second. Stopped by and sat on the patio. Surprisingly nice ambiance for a parking lot. Only ate one meal but everyone else's looked great.

They have the best chicken salad around. Great service and urban contemporary atmosphere. The soup specials are always great as well. They serve a lot of organic, vegan and fair trade products. The dining room is small so you may have to wait, but it's well worth it!

If you don't like the hustle and bustle of the Atwater's in Belvedere Square, come here. It's a mellowed out version in an octagonal stand-alone building with ample parking and decent service. The food is just as hot and delicious as Belvedere's, so no worries of living up to its sister joint. Still scrumptious!

Great spot! Terrific "Arugula Salad" with chicken salad (amazing) added, which included pomegranate seeds and tangerine slices. All the trimmings and arugula were very fresh. The dressing was a citrus vinaigrette that was excellent. A small octaganol gem on the North side of Baltimore in the parking lot of a mixed commercial strip mall setting. There is a drive thru (which seemed to be clearing cars quickly. Inside are a tightly packed cluster of seats and counter service in a very cozy setting that 'smelled' delicious. The drink cooler had a nice selection of non-standard cold teas and other drinks. Counter service was very quick. I will definitely visit again if in the area.

Excellent!! Fast service. I ordered 5 sandwiches and 2 salads to go and my order was ready in 10 minutes. The menu options are different than what is posted in Yelp but very creative, fresh sandwiches. Everyone was happy that I ordered from Atwaters. a little pricey but better than your ordinary deli.

Atwaters has really spread their goodness over the Baltimore area. Originally, there was one restaurant/bakery in Belvedere Square and then they started to branch out. This one took over a former bank which was designed and built in the shape of an octagon (I can't remember how many sides there are since I'm usually overwhelmed by the smell of bread and coffee). The Kenilworth Atwaters has limited seating with about 15 tables indoors and 4 outside. If you want a table, try to get their before or after the lunch rush or you may have to wait for a table. Overall, awesome artisanal breads, baked goods, granola and anything that comes out of their oven. Of course, the coffee is fantastic, can't have a bread/pastry/carb without coffee? If you are dining, try the menu of sandwiches, salads or soups. Today, I had the breakfast sandwich which is an egg omelet, topped with hardwood smoked bacon and melted cheddar cheese on a nice, hearty flax bread. This is what I call breakfast!!! Last week, I had the gazpacho and it was fantastic. Chunky bits of tomato, cucumber, green onion topped with avocado and their croutons. It's heaven on a hot summer day. You can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches. I enjoyed half a banh mi pork sandwich (Vietnamese style sandwich). A sliced pork, layered with shredded carrots, cucumbers and a tangy sauce on a chewy baguette. Plus they served the sandwich with these spicy, sweet pickles on the side. Perfect! The service is wonderful. When I come in for breakfast, I get the same server. She is fantastic, efficient and funny. She always anticipates what I may need.

You can order anything off the menu at Atwaters and it will be fantastic. The portions are perfect, the quality incredible and prices modest. I love going here to met friends for a cup of coffee and breakfast or for a business lunch. My only complaint is that it is crowded and has limited space for tables. The staff is always friendly and I am always happy to support a great local business.

Atwater's is a Friday lunch favorite, and due to some errands in Towson, the Kenilworth location won out this particular week. More of a café and less of a bakery, the Kenilworth shop has table service and a quick takeout counter. The biggest difference here is that the sandwiches are made to order - not pre-made, like at Catonsville. Coworker M's plate: roast beef sandwich with horseradish mayo, romaine, and swiss cheese Her plate: B.A.L.T. - bacon, avocado, lettuce, and tomato on country bread with garlic mayo; gazpacho for later Atwater's gazpacho is consistently fantastic and flavorful with a broth that's the right viscosity and chopped vegetables that still have their individual texture and flavor. This is not the cheapest lunch option, but the flavors are always the freshest.

I love this place. It has been a pleasure to come to this place over the last few years. I usually get a different soup every time, and I have never had one I did not like and the chicken salad is like no other. I also enjoy the crusty bread with the olive oil. I often come at dinner time after work to unwind. The service is great.. The waitresses and waiters are all exceptional and Josh, the sexy waiter is an extra treat for the eyes. He is so accomodating, and not overbearing,always smiling and creates a good atmoshpere. My only problems is I wish they had some better desserts like fresh pumpkin pie or wonderful cookies. Not that impressed with the desserts. If there was an Atwaters in Timonium, I probably would be there every day.

Fantastic, fresh breads. Good sandwiches. Great soups. Atwater's is a fantastic place for a light (or not so light) Saturday lunch. Flavors and ingredients are fresh, the menu sticks to well-executed basics, and many if not most of the ingredients are locally sourced. The space is a bit odd and small, having been a bank branch at one point, and it gets packed at lunch time. Outdoor seating is available, which is OK in nice weather, but it primarily boundaries and overlooks the parking lot. Service is pretty efficient and competent. Large groups will be a problem, as the dining area is cramped and the largest tables seat 4-5. The high ceilings of the building help offset the close quarters, though. On a hot day, the cold, freshly prepared gazpacho really hits the spot - tomato puree, cool cucumber, onion, and basil combine well in this not-at-all-watery version. Hot soups range from chicken prepared with locally-raised, free range birds to vegan roasted vegetable. All are served in generous portions (a cup here is the size of a bowl-sized serving anywhere else) along with a big chunk of crusty, fresh bread. Sandwiches are offered in halves and wholes, and though a bit pricey are pretty hefty, served on more of Atwater's own breads, and are accompanied by tart homemade dill pickle slices. Fresh brewed iced tea, coffees, teas, and specialty sodas are available. When you're done, the mini-eclairs are perfect little puffs of pastry filled with light cream (not heavy custard) and glazed with a rich chocolate ganache. Don't forget to make a stop up front on the way out and take some freshly baked bread home with you - the cranberry walnut and kalamata olive sourdough are delicious.

Great food, great prices, great service. Small cafe atmosphere with friendly staff and fresh food. We haven't been dissapointed yet, and always seem to venture off and try something different on the menu...I had the Curried apple salad with Cheddar last evening and it was delicious. Its ALL good!!

Our party ordered a variety of sandwiches, soups, and brunch items. They were all delicious, especially the chicken salad sandwich and the spicy red bean and sausage soup (which was not actually very spicy but still quite tasty). The mint tea was also very refreshing. One of our friends is pretty picky about her food and had a bunch of substitutions/special requests, but the server took it in stride and was totally cool with it. Overall, the service is great and the food is tasty/comforting. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because nothing about the restaurant is mindblowing --it's definitely good, but not so special that I rave about it afterward, which is my requirement for 5 star ratings. Still, it is a solid choice for brunch/lunch!

I can't think of this place without my mouth watering. If this place were closer to work, I would eat here all the time! One must drive at extremely unsafe speeds to get here and back to work in Hunt Valley in under an hour, but it's SOOOOOO worth it! My friend said that I had to try the CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH. I don't even like chicken salad! In fact, mayo based sandwich fillers scare me. BUT this one is different. There has very little mayo in it, and it has the perfect crunchy sweetness from apples and dried fruit. I love it. It's seriously THE BEST chicken salad EVER! And did I mention that it's served on their yummy homemade bread? Wow wow wow - so so good! The half sandwich with soup combo is wonderful. They make their soups in house as well.....and the desserts are wonderful as well! There is limited seating in this place, and we had to wait ten minutes for a table. I would highly recommend getting here early if you are in a hurry, or order take out. Maybe Atwaters will read this and open a new shop in Hunt Valley to save Maryland citizens from me and my speeding friends. hint hint nudge nudge. :-)
