Amazing pizza and amazing cheesesteaks. The best that I have been able to find in Maryland. The people are awesome as well!

I tried this place out based on recommendations of a good slice in the area. I came in during peak lunch hours and it was completely empty. I should have taken that as a sign. There was no one behind the counter either. I went to recheck to see if this place was open, and indeed it was. So, since I was starving and wanted to try it out, I waited till someone came out to help me. Five minutes later, an older gentleman, who I learned was the owner, walked out and stared at me. He didn't even bother to greet the only customer in his establishment. He was super grumpy pants as I was placing my order. He grunted questions at me. (Caveman-style: serving pizza slices, so easy a caveman can do it). When I finally got my slices, the pizza was oily, small, and greasy and not that great. The only upside was that they were decently priced @1.90 per slice. Definitely avoid this place, I would rather spend my $3.80+tax on McDs than this place. Even they have better customer service than this grunting owner.

Always had good food here. Very authentic Italian pies and subs. I usually get a salad and they are great! Very fresh and good size. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because I do think they are a little pricey. But if you don't mind paying a little more for good food, then it shouldn't be a problem.

First time I got a cheese-steak sub and it was just OK. Went back a week later and they got my pizza order wrong. I was in a rush and couldn't wait for them to make a new one. Will try them again some other time and hopefully update with a better rating.

I just finished my cheesesteak with everything and had to write this review before I even left. It was THE BEST cheesesteak I've ever eaten and I grew up near Philly! The staff was awesome too. Six stars!

I love the pie and subs at Frank's! I have been getting them for the last 15 years and I have never had a bad meal there or carry out order there. The garlic knots are awesome also. Everyone who works there is great also. Very friendly in a real way. Oddly enough, I have never had a pasta dish there. That will be next on my list.

Decent pizza and subs. Garlic knots are really tasty. Really busy on Fri/Sat nights, expect to wait on your food. Pricing is in line with other sub and pizza shops in the area.

We tried the cheese pizza, chicken calzone, and garlic knots. Everything was great! You can't go wrong with the garlic knots being 5 for $1. The service was great too. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Yes you better have thick skin sometimes if you want to order food here. I don't go to franks to cure my emotional instability. I go to Franks to eat good food. The rice balls are a revelation. garlic knots of course. Marinara to die for(as long as you like garlic) Just go and don't take things so personally

Wow, shocked at all the poor reviews. Sure the help are sometimes surly, but who CARES? It's the BEST pizza around here and I'm a picky Italian chick from Jersey. Definitely authentic NY style pizza. Fantastic! I personally like the people there. They're real...

I have been coming to Frank's for 15 years. It literally has not changed. The decor and booths are I believe the exact same. The staff is also the exact same (maybe one or two new people.) It's a family owned business. I have always loved Frank's Pizza. When you go there every week with your family (well we used to go every week after church, now I only get to go about twice a year), they get to know you and your order. Yes, the booths normally are not very clean... I just wipe it off myself before I sit down. They are normally not super friendly when you place your order... but the food really is good. The chicken parmesan is very good- thin cuts of chicken cooked well and the sauce is good. The pizza is some of the best I've ever had. I really like their salad dressing as well (Although their lettuce and the rest of the salad is not very good). Their subs are good... garlic knots are VERY good. Long story short, food is good, service and cleanliness probably not their strongest attributes but I think most of their orders have to be take out.

I've gone here since 2000 when we moved to the area. They know my family and we have tried nearly everything on the menu. We are from New York and miss the good Italian food. This place is straight out of New York, the real deal. Yes, it can be slow service on a Friday night but the food is usually excellent. It is usually pretty cheap for most of the food but the pizza is more expensive than Dominos. However, the quality is better.

I can't say this is a very thorough review because I have only tried one thing here. That being said, the garlic knots are probably the best I have had in my life. Be prepared for a garlicky, greasy, chewy little piece of heaven.

If you want NY pizza with the attitude. Franks is the place to go. Family run and ITALIAN all the way. Reading the other post about bread..made me laugh. Being a local I know that the bread is made a few blocks away. Originally from NJ and now settled in MD we make Franks a Friday event. You won't be disappointed.

Recommended by a friend to dine here. So here I was. First, I was craving a sub but looking at the cheap bread stacked to the ceiling immediately made me change my mind thinking that the bread isnt freshly made. The staff looks depressed and miserable. They all had tudes. So I decided to go safe and order pizza. One slice of cheese pizza to go. They warmed up my pizza and then threw it on a cheap paper plate and into a brown paper bag! What the what!!! Big turn off?! They are too cheap to have single slice pizza boxes. So when I went to my car, I got my pizza and the cheese stuck to the bag. Not happy! Then I bite into it. And yuck, the pizza is oily and salty. A big sign that they use cheap quality ingredients. Pizza is awful. Jerrys Pizza is better. (sarcasm here). Anywho, this place is a dump. Staff looks sad and overworked. But overall, avoid this place. They are not deserving of your business here.

I selfishly hesitated before posting this review, but here it goes. If you liked Pap Paps and were disappointed when they closed, then you need to go to Frank's. The restaurant atmosphere isn't the same and it's smaller than Pap Paps, but the pizza is the closest we've found to Pap Paps. Tried J&P but that wasn't even close. Not sure how Frank's subs are, but the pizza is great. A few reviews of Franks talk about unfriendly service, but our experience was the complete opposite. We sat down just as half-time was ending on game day, so there was a lot of activity. Phones ringing, people in line. Even with that, the staff was friendly. As soon as the line died down, they were out cleaning up tables. They even asked my 3 yr old if he liked the pizza. Very friendly and very good pizza. Bathroom was clean. The only complaint is that it was really loud because the TV was cranked for the Ravens game.

Service continues to be a problem. The attitude of the employees ranges from friendly to indifferent to angry-looking. It was busy, but not crowded and there were a few empty tables. We ordered a pizza, fries, and garlic knots. When they bring out each item, they walk among the tables, asking, "Who ordered the garlic knots?" A table of people who came in after us, calls out, "We did!" and they get the knots. They walk around asking, who ordered the fries. Another table calls out, "We did!" and they get the fries. What were we supposed to do? Argue with everyone? So 30 minutes after ordering, I go back to the counter and am told there are a few minutes left on the pizza and "someone must have taken your fries and knots." Perhaps they should attach names to orders. We finally got our pizza 35 minutes after placing our order. Anyway, the pizza is great - oily and cheesy! The garlic knots are flavorful. The fries, this time around, had an off-taste, as if they were using old oil. I wish they had Coke products. Their Pepsi was flat-ish.
