Had a wonderful, relaxing weekend here for my husband's birthday (...in March - why no, I'm not slow to Yelp). We stayed in Tansy, which was very cosy; small bathroom, but that didn't bother us. Beautiful, peaceful setting and a very classy B&B atmosphere. The owner was kind enough to show us some of the unoccupied rooms; next time we may upgrade to one of the cottage-style rooms with the tubs. I took some knitting out to the end of the pier and sat out there for a while watching boats come and go to neighboring properties - what a wonderful way to spend an evening! Breakfast was tasty too - tell them when you book your room if you're not a meat/egg eater, though. I forgot to, and they still did a wonderful job accommodating me. It was an easy, comfortable walk to the waterfront area and several great places to eat were nearby as well. I'm always on the lookout for vacation spots where I don't have to drive much to enjoy the area, so I was thrilled by how easy and fun it was to get around on foot. I think this might be my idea of heaven. I'm already plotting a return trip for the fall.

We had a lovely stay at Solomon's Victorian Inn. The inn itself was as beautiful as it looks in the pictures and our room was charming. Even though it faced the street, our room was quiet and we had no trouble sleeping. Speaking of sleeping, the bed was very comfortable, with good pillows (a bad pillow can really wreck a person's sleep!). Judith and Rob were excellent innkeepers. Judith keeps a big cookie jar full of homemade cookies at the door as well as a make-it-yourself tea service. Both were delightful and very welcome. Her cookies are not to be missed. During the two days we were they, they were maybe four or five different cookies on rotation, all made by Judith herself. I had the chocolate chip, brownie, and shortbread and I'm honestly still thinking about them, especially the shortbread. Breakfast was equally delicious and included things like french toast with cream cheese and marmalade, sausage, fruit and a baked item. Judith and Rob made spot on restaurant recommendations as well. We took their advice and had a very good dinner at Belle Maison. We will definitely return to Solomons Victorian Inn!
My husband and I stayed at the inn for his birthday. The inn is much better located than the other BB inns on the island. The house is beautiful and classy, and it comes with a mature and well maintained garden. The inn keepers are quite nice and attentive. Overall we had a good experience. We take off one star for the fact that the window unit in our room was really loud. We had to turn it off in order to sleep. But then the room got really warm and stuffy. We ended up not sleeping well. If you are a light sleeper, I suggest that you think twice before booking a hot summer's night there. (It was quite hot while we were there.)
Folks, you don't want to pass up a chance to stay at Solomon's Victorian Inn. The Inn itself is beautiful. Our accommodations were divine. The breakfast is delicious and the new innkeepers are delightful! Judith must have been an innkeeper in a past life. She is an exceptional hostess and made us feel so welcome.

Fantastic find! We just threw a huge party and used the Bistro as the venue. The food was exceptional and the staff was great. Everyone had a wonderful time and complimented the food which is what any party planner wants to hear! Five star find without a doubt.
Fine dining struggles in southern Maryland. It's difficult to find a successful execution of ambiance, service, and food at a high level down here...it almost doesn't exist. Belle Maison tries very hard to accomplish this, albeit with a few shortcomings. Two people front of house, and what I'm guessing was no more than 2 in the kitchen were just about able to keep up with the 10 or so tables. This was charming. You could tell that each plate was prepared and cared for equally as it left the kitchen. However, they were out of 3 menu items and one vital cordial for a signature cocktail. I had come for the fish, and went with the pasta as they were out of it, and it was just OK. Still, a special place that merits a visit when you're sick of fried seafood and want something intimate and unique.
This place is so great! Intimate and attentive all at once. Gave us the privacy at our table we desired and fed us a fantastic meal with awesome service. We will be back again and again! Just sad we didn't try it till two years into our stay here in SOMD

The BEST Roast Beef Sandwiches ever! You can't beat them for fast food. Yummy ice cream and REAL milkshakes. We usually hit Roys when we visit the Calvert Marine Musuem or Ann Marie Gardens.
Agree with the previous review! Phenomenal milkshakes with real ice cream and you have to try the gold rush chicken sandwich!
Roy Rogers is the best fast food place ever. We used to have one in LaPlata, but it closed so now we have to drive 72 miles roundtrip to get our fix. (we ride down here several times a month) This place is clean. They hire friendly employees. There's a tv to catch up on news and sports. It's near Solomons Island, so there is plenty to do when you're down that way. They have some outdoor seating. Food: roast beef is the best. tender, juicy and thinly sliced but piled high on the bun. a 1,0000 times better than Arbys (which is rubbery and tastes fake) sides include baked potato, mashed potatoes, french fries. they have awesome fried chicken. Roy Rogers carries the Hershey brand of ice cream (delish) and as a tasty finish to your meal, nothings better than a strawberry shortcake. a real warm biscuit with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and strawberries over the top. don't forget when you leave to grab a 3pack (or 6 pack) of the roast beef sliders for a snack later. Yum! This is where I had my Mother's Day lunch - and we had friends who joined us. Perfect weather, great food and better friends. :)

This is my second time here. The service is great; the people are really nice. The first I came I got the Finnagin(?) biscuit. It was sausage
Someone recommend this place and we were so glad we came here! Fresh food, great atmosphere and wonderful service. We had a salad, turkey wrap and small pizza - all were delish! We will definitely come back and recommend to others.

I went with a large group on new years eve. They were busy but we were seated fairly quickly. I got the tempura green beans as my appetizer. They were pretty flavorless, just slightly salty, but the beans were still on the crisp side, which was nice. The duck sauce they came with made them tastier. My husband got the house egg rolls. They were very crispy and "different" with noodles on the inside. He liked them overall. I had the vegetable lo mein. It was a large portion. There were a decent amount of veggies, but they were a bit overcooked. The sauce was tasty and a little sweet instead of just salty. Nice change of pace. My husband had pork and green beans. The beans were well cooked and the dish had a nice sweet gravy. He ordered it with fried rice which was not really fried rice-it just had soy sauce and oil (?) on it. Yummy but odd. Bathrooms are very clean! Service was great for our large party and she split the checks perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised by the good experience.
Waitress made a mistake with my order, owner refused to correct it. They're overpriced for no reason because the food was mediocre at best. Wouldn't recommend the place and certainly won't be returning.
Not thrilled with this place at all but unfortunately it is the only sushi you can get this side of the solomons bridge.. Personally if someone is visiting The area i recommend going to asahi or okada in st marys.. My son was appalled by the bathrooms shape.. Enough so that he took pics ( i will post).. Keep in mind the waiters and cook staff use the same bathroom. Environment and overall feel needs to be updated.. It def does not have a classy or modern feel.. Missed opportunity in my opinion. Some people will just not eat in this type of environment- esp when their other options are asahi and okada! Prices are a little higher than the other two restaurants i mentioned above and the quantity and quality are not better or even close!!

Tiki Bar

Tiki opening is something you don't miss as a SOMD resident however the rest of the summer it's a last resort. The drinks have gone up every season and the alcohol content has gone down. It also is a hit or miss with the crowd, half are 21 year olds drinking for the first time or Old people on vacation just sitting and drinking.
Came here for a few drinks on a Friday night. We grabbed a couple of oversized beach chairs to hang out, drink, and people watch. Cute place! The bartenders are not super friendly but were quick to grab me some beers. Some of the crowd seemed as though they should definitely not be served any more drinks! Overall a decently fun night.
These drinks are strong! Or maybe any drink is on an empty stomach. Regardless, I liked this place. It is had a nice view of the harbor and relaxed vibe. It draws a mixed crowd who flock for their mixed drinks. Their Orange Crush was one of the better one I have had and based on the amount of them I saw floating around others seem to agree. They are cash only so come prepared.

Very average. Was seated in the second floor patio which was lovely except for the party of 15 teenagers that were sat at the next table. Beer was cold. Tried each of their 3 'Crush' signature cocktails. They were ok but too much sugar and would have preferred all fresh ingredients. Crab dip and hushpuppy appetizers were delicious. Main entrees were all just ok. Nothing special. Will be trying the other restaurants in the area to find something better.
We had a horrible experience. We didn't even order food because the waitress had an attitude problem and the restaurant had many out of stock items. The waitress lied and said soft shell crabs are out of season. We aren't exactly tourists and therefore know this to be untrue. A simple, "Sorry, we are out," goes a long way towards not infuriating your customers. Additionally, every request we made was answered with a quite rude "no." I highly recommend avoiding this venue. I think their desirable location has caused management to lax on their hiring practices. I rarely feel so strongly offended that I would leave such negative (and public) feedback. However, this visit was atrocious because of a waitress with an attitude problem and management's very poor stock practices.
I'm from St. Marys originally but live in VA now. We went for mothers' day @1:00. We were told no reservations for parties under 12 people (in advance), which makes it very difficult to plan anything at this establishment. Overall, we were treated like an inconvenience and felt rushed to leave. However, the service itself was slow and forgetful. Had to remind the waitress about drink items continually throughout the meal. They also brought the harder to make adult meals out BEFORE the easy to make Kids meals, which made for another unpleasant set of circumstances. I ordered one of the most expensive single item entrees on the menu - Steak (6 pz filet) and Cake (5oz crab cake). I ordered medium, it came out very well done AND cold, not even sure how that works. The crab cakes overall were tasty, but also on the cold side for all of us that ordered them. The steak I sent back and the replacement came out between rare and medium rare. I ate it rather than send it back. The waitress nor a manager offered us any reduction in our bill at all. It's clear that the cooks were not using temperature to judge done-ness of the meat. The view was beautiful and made it tolerable, but I will definitely not recommend this restaurant if you want quality food and do not plan to return. The service and food quality definitely do not justify the price they charge. The one saving grace was that its hard to mess up steamed shrimp and a salad, which is what my mother ordered, so mothers day for her was still preserved. Side note. Stoneys has started adding fillers to their crab cakes due to the reduction in available lump crab meat which would drive costs up. So they've had to balance crab to filler ratios. The ratio is acceptable, but if you know this in advance, you may choose another restaurant with "acceptable" crab cakes with fillers.

Heard about the 3 little pigs sandwich since I started working in the area a year ago. Wish I would have gotten it sooner. 1 of best sandwiches ever just a little over priced
The food here is insanely overpriced. I had a turkey sandwich for around $7, which was literally just slices of turkey on a bun. My friend also paid around the same amount for a hot dog with cheese and marinara sauce. However, the staff here seems very nice, and the service is quite fast.
It was not clear to me at first that this is, more or less, a carryout with no tables at all. There is a bar next door and in the "ally" between the two buildings is a faux tiki outdoor bar area with sand, umbrellas deck chairs, etc. It was very much a "we haven't grown up, and smoke while drinking bud light out of a can" kind of crowd. But that can be good if the food lives up to the hype. We asked at the BBQ and they said go eat in that area-- it was not at all clear that it was OK or expected. I wanted ribs, but without a table that seemed like a bad idea. I got a pit beef sandwich. It was kind of dry and flavorless. My son and his friend had a pit turkey, which was much better. The fries were just OK, the onion rings were clearly from a bag and the fried pickles were underdone. Whatever, we were all eating and I was not going to complain. Then,1/2 was through eating, a bouncer comes over and says that we have to leave--at 7PM it is 21 and over. It was 7:20 and we had come in after 7--the time stamp on my receipt said as much. They went as far as to walk the boys out while my wife went to get bags and foil to wrap things up. There is no sign saying any of this. Had I not had the kids there I'd have plopped the 1/2 eaten food down and asked for my money back. To sum it up, if you like Dundalk on a Friday night and want to eat below average food on beach chairs and be treated poorly, be my guest.
