Food was great as was the service. Friendly atmosphere and owner (Todd) was very nice. We will be going back.

How this place has 4.5 stars, I have no clue why.... Nice driver and quick delivery and the food tasted okay. BUT... - The Hunan Chicken was SO greasy (see photo) and had what looked and tasted like canned mushrooms. The grease was so bad that I could feel it all over me after eating - The fried noodles (that come with soup) are the store-bought kind. - The tofu dish we got didn't have fried tofu, as they told us over the phone. It was the soft mushy tofu we don't like. We specifically asked, twice. I hate places that seem to tell you what you want to hear. Feeling super gross after this meal. Definitely not ordering from here again... DH got it for me since I was home alone with our babe. Big mistake.

I've ordered from here twice, once my mom and I, another my dad ordered for himself, my mom and I. All five meals were well loved. I had mapo tofu which was spicy goodness. My mom had some lunch special with scallops and tasting one I almost wish I got that instead. Both of us liked the hot and sour soup. The next time my dad went with General Tso's which is his meal to gauge a return visit. Loved it. My mom got some kind of noodles which she liked. I got egg drop soup which I loved. I like it thick and yellow and salty. Their hot and sour is thick spicy and sour. This time I got shrimp in hot sauce. It was like a thinner spicy ketchup sauce. Pretty darn good. Definitely my new local goto when I am in the area and my dad announced they have a new chinese spot. BOOM. Yelp does it again.

New restaurant in the former Number 1 Chinese space. The previous food was OK but a bit heavy on five spice for my liking. I have tried the new Ming Cafe now twice and it is my new favorite for the area. I tend to choose the spicy dishes and here they really are good and spicy. You don't have to ask to turn up the heat. Very tasty Kung Pao, Szechuan Tofu, hot and sour soup (though somewhat thick), Crispy Beef, and Sha Chien. Good dumplings and egg rolls. Well recommended if you have not tried it since the new owners and presumably new chefs. Take out only but planning a small seating area per their website.

We just moved to Arnold and wanted to find a good Chinese/Japanese delivery in this area. We had a small menu for this place so I called. The woman who answered was very nice and said since we were kind of far it may take longer than usual for delivery since it was raining and she only had one driver. I appreciated her honesty. We placed our order. It did NOT take an hour. Maybe 20 minutes to arrive. The food was absolutely delicious! We found our delivery place for Asian cuisine!!! I am pretty picky with my food. I did not have to add any sauce to my chow mien. My son loved his chicken and broccoli. My husband got general tsu's and it was great he said. The egg rolls are the best I have had in years. Definitely would have been worth an hour wait... If we had to wait that long. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

After reading about them in the paper, figured I had to try it. Great choice for quick Chinese. Food was fresh and they use real chicken. First time eating here and will definitely be back.

Went here for the first time based on Yelp reviews. We shared the following dishes. Hot & Sour Soup, Shrimp Rolls, Egg Rolls, Szechwan Chicken and Sesame Chicken. First, the service, possibly some of the nicest people you will encounter in a restaurant. Made it a nicer experience. Decor is nothing fancy. We ate in at the restaurant. Food came out quickly and service was excellent. The food, was great, almost everything tried came back with the same responses, "best in a long time" or "best ever".... Wish they would have given us some fortune cookies. However, if that was the worst thing, then we were doing good.

Best Chinese food I've ever had! All white meat chicken. Amazing service, and you can bring your own wine. It's a must go!!

Had our inaugural delivery experience with Ming's and all was well. Delivery early on a Friday evening in about 25 minutes. Food was tasty all around and pricing was good. We liked all of our choices - orange chicken, moo shu chicken, and tofu lo mein. They don't list tofu but you can get dishes made with it. Definitely something we'll be ordering again.

We've gotten take-out from here numerous, numerous times. By far it is our favorite Chinese place in the area. We've had everything from the Shrimp and Vegetables, Sweet and Sour chicken (always PERFECTLY done), Chicken/beef with broccoli, General Tso's, Kung Pao... the list goes on. We just finished dinner tonight and for whatever reason, this time around it was truly exceptionally good. I have always had a pleasant experience on the phone when ordering, and when you come in, they remember who you are and greet you by name as if you were a Foreign Diplomat. Can't beat it!

I'm posting this again for this location, since the old No. 1 reviews were showing. Don't mind the old reviews for No. 1 Chinese. Since switching ownership from No. 1 to now Ming's Cafe, this is BY FAR the best Chinese option in Severna Park, and quite honestly some of the best I've had. It is always fresh, and the owner is very friendly and dedicated. My staple was the Crispy Beef, Szeshuan Inn style, but trying to cut back on the calories. I have tried all sorts of other options, and they are always superb. Recently, the new owner has really put some time into redoing the interior, making it a dine-in location. I haven't visited for dining in, yet, but will update with my experience when I do. Currently it is BYOB, so don't forget to bring the beer/wine. I HIGHLY recommend Ming's Cafe; you will not be disappointed.

Ordered take out dishes for six people. Varied tastes. Everyone was very pleased with the quality and enjoyed the food. General zao's chicken had a good amount of hot peppers and was particularly tasty.

Very good food, quick delivery, and great prices. I'm pretty picky about Chinese food. I've discovered a lot of "mysterious" things in my Chinese food at other places that make me a little skittish when I order Chinese. But this was good food and nothing scary showed up in my meal! I'll definitely order from them again!

Under new ownership/management! They offer a more simplified menu but with all the traditional favorites and some new combinations. Food is fresh and higher quality than previous. Prices are very reasonable. Great surprise!!!

Fresh, tasty, quality food - as good as delivery Chinese in NYC, with timely local delivery (a rarity for good food around here). Great find!

Words can not express how excited I was to hear that Mings cafe has come to Severna Park. I grew up in Arnold eating at their sister location China Garden. Im ridiculously particular about my chinese food, so after moving to Severna Park, I would still make my poor boyfriend drive down to Arnold to get my food. And I get chinese food at least once a week if not more. (Sick obsession I know). So Mings Cafe opening less than a mile away from our home was music to both of our ears. The chicken and broccoli is to die for.

After schezuan inn closed in Severna Park I have been looking for a great new Chinese joint. I am glad to say I have finally found one in Mings Cafe. I absolutely love the crispy beef and the schezuan string beans. There appetizers are great as well. (Spring rolls and dumplings). Also Tod the manager is a great guy and very welcoming. So if you have been looking for a great new Chinese spot like me head over to Mings Cafe.

This is a hard review because your experience depends on who is behind the counter. There is a woman (might be the mother) who is incredibly kind and will help you with anything, but there is a man, who is straight up rude and I have even witnessed him being mean to the lady when she tried to accomodate. Example-they have an extensive lunch menu where everything is around $5 and comes with both an egg roll and fried rice. I asked them to substitute tofu for the chicken in their General Tso's dish. The man says no, but that I can buy the tofu for $9.25 and no, it does not come with the rice or egg roll. I told him it makes no sense that he will charge me $4 more and give me less items. He argued and got rude with me. I did not buy it and I am not going back. Tofu is cheaper than chicken, period. In addition, Chinese restaurant just freeze it and take it out and fry it as needed, therefore it lasts a long time so it is not costly to keep around. The tofu is good, but because of the owner's rigid inflexibility, rude attitude and tofu price gouging, I will not be going back.

Had take out from Ming's last night for the first time. To start, ordering was easy and friendly. The lady who took my order was friendly and spoke clearly and that's worth something. When I went in to pick up, it was ready and again, she was friendly. So often I feel as if I'm imposing on the Chinese take out places as I give them my money. She was friendly and when I told her this was our first visit she asked why I didn't order the General Tso's chicken, so I guess that's something that they're known for. When I explained it was fried and I usually don't do fried she got it. We had the shrimp lobster sauce, the moo shu pork, the chicken lo mein and fried rice with chicken- all had wonton soup also. It was pretty good! They didn't put capers in the shrimp+lobster sauce but that's great with me, always pick them out anyway. It's my new favorite Chinese place. Used to eat lots of Chinese growing up in NY and working in Manhattan but haven't really loved anyplace here until last night. We'll be back. If I hadn't just been in NYC three weeks ago eating Chinese I would have ranked it a 5.

Yum! Best takeout Chinese I've had in a long time. Sesame Chicken was great--all white meat chicken, very flavorful. Beef with Broccoli was great as well--garlicy and the beef was very, very tender. Spring rolls were delicious, as was the Shrimp with Snow Peas. I am very impressed and will be going back soon.

Strip center Chinese food at its best!!! This place has good food at a reasonable price. No eat in to speak of, but worth a few extra minutes drive to get the good stuff,

People were nice. Food was not edible. We threw out the moo goo gai pan and orange beef. Choked down the spring rolls . We were able to eat the vegetable lo mein. Overpriced at $33 for 2 dinners and spring rolls that ended up in the trash. Will not order there again.

There are three Asian restaurants in this shopping center and this one probably has the second best food. It's carry-out only, with good pricing and large servings. The owner/operators are friendly and quick. The menu is typical of Chinese carry-out.

I always go here when I get chinese take-out, by far the best in Severna Park. The lo mein and sweet and sour chicken are really good. I was also pleasantly surprised by the spare ribs.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
