What I like about China Sea are probably the things that people . Some of their food reminds me of the food I used to eat at the Chinese food restaurants on any random corner growing up in NY. If you are looking for gourmet Chinese food this is probably not the place for you. If you want to fill a void left by you leaving your hometown or just want some decent Chinese food every now and then try China Star.

When we walked into this place we were greeted with, "Umm, is there something I can help you with?" My first thought was...isn't this a restaurant? Most people walking in probably want to eat. Didn't feel welcomed at all...probably why there was literally no one else in there. After getting menus and sitting down for about 5 minutes the guy comes back and asked if we wanted to order or if we wanted drinks or how does this work? You tell me guy, you work here! By this time someone else had come in to pick up a To Go order they had called in. We decided to order food To Go as well just to get out of there. After waiting for 20 minutes, our food came out, paid, grabbed a take out menu and went home. Opened the food to find stuff we didn't order. Moo Goo Gai Pan that was mostly mushrooms...hey, where's the chicken??? and shrimp fried rice with 3 shrimp in it. Tossed the take out menu in the trash. Won't be needing that! And on a side note, next to the table we sat at to wait for our food was some soy sauce that was splattered on the walls. I'm assuming it had been there since the mid 80's. They might want to wipe that off their old grimy wallpaper. It was unsightly! Better yet, rip out the wallpaper, it shouldn't be hard considering its peeling at all the seems anyways.

This place is pretty good. The price is one of the best things about the place. You get a nice amount for the price. They even have specials when you purchase over a said amount.

This is my (& my husband's) go-to Chinese restaurant in the area. Our favorites are Beef w/ Garlic Sauce, Beef & Broccoli, Hunan Beef (spicy), and the steamed dumplings. Their shrimp toast, although greasy, is really delicious (I always feel guilty after eating it, but can't help myself). They have lunch specials (usually 11am-3pm) & combinations (with egg roll, egg drop soup, & fried rice). Most of their entrees are great, but their fried rice combos need improvement... I was disappointed because they were dry and not as good as most I've tried. Delivery service is good.

We love this place! The food is always fresh and delicious. We do both dine in and carryout. I love the egg drop soup, it's by far the best in town! The staff is overall nice and friendly. We have a few Chinese food places closer to us but we bypass all of them to go here.

Great food really loved their general Tso chicken ! Def doesn't look like much on the outside kind of a hole in the wall but the food is really good

Based on the mixed reviews I really wasn't sure of what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised. I called to place an order for take-out and asked if they could make the beef and snow peas into a combo instead of the pepper steak and onions that was offered on the menu but they weren't able to accommodate me, however....they said they would throw in a large shrimp fried rice to make up for it. That was totally unnecessary but very appreciated. I ended up ordering the General Tso's Chicken, Pepper Steak & onion and Shrimp Chow Mein combo's, a small order of Steak & Snow Peas and an order of the Crab & Cheese Wontons. The prices were cheap, portions were large, the food was hot, fresh and very good and the service was fast. I don't think I would sit down and dine at the actual restaurant (it was a hole in the wall and a bit depressing) but I will certainly order take-out from there again. I'm a fan!

I concur with most of the statements written below (or are they above me :) I order take out here mainly because 175 doesn't have many quality food choices to offer. It's always fast, hot and good.

I do not suggest eating at this place, the ambience is not the greatest. For take out this place is great!

I am giving this 3 stars because the shrimp was good but the dice chicken was soggy and gross and the price is okay. It is sure hard to find a good Chinese restaurant nowadays. My search continues...

A group of people, along with myself, decided to take a lunch break at China Sea Restaurant. The group was all telling me how good this place was and how I should try it. After coming here to eat, I just don't believe the hype. Public Enemy status. China Sea has a lunch buffet special where you pay about $6.30/person. However: most.limited .food.selection.ever. After looking at the food available, I maneuvered into position to get the following: beef & broccoli, orange chicken, breaded shrimp, fried rice, beef Teriyaki stick, and a piece of cake. Well, the cake was last, on a different plate. Everything was edible, and I'll just leave it at that. We did have a waiter, who did a good job making sure our group had drinks and other amenities available. The environment seemed pretty dead in here as well; dark, quiet and uninspired. With that being said, people were still coming right on in. Must be the egg drop soup? Overall, China Sea Restaurant is OK for lunch, that's it. The narrow selection of food and the lack of environment bring this place down. Lesson learned today kids: don't believe the hype.

We usually order delivery from here and the food was always fresh, large portions, and delivered within a half hour! Tonight we ordered delivery and it took over an hour! Btw we live 5 minutes away. It looked like they made the food, let it sit for an hour then said "oh right we might want to deliver this".

I ate here after a friend recommended it. Their combo fried rice is pretty good and the shrimps in it are pretty big. I did take out though because the atmosphere was not too inviting.

Have eaten the food here twice. First time Take-out. Second time Deliver. The food is good. They actually give you Fried rice instead of White Rice mixed with Soy Sauce like Mai Dragon. I will order from here again.

Not the best I've had, but decent. Never been to their actual restaurant, but they are one of the few places to deliver onto post (which I added a star for). Price on delivery is reasonable, may order from them in the future, but would prefer to get carryout for better quality elsewhere.

No problem here for me. The food and service was fine. Everything was fine and we enjoyed all of the food and they even gave me a little extra. Funny though, I showed the lady at the desk the review that was already there.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
