We ate dinner here and it was absolutely delightful . The cream if crab was very tasty , the bread was served warm with butter and olive oil. The staff was friendly and knowledgable . I got the scallops with a fresh succotash and it was delicious and fresh. My husband got a New York strip that he said was very good. We will be back.

Went for a Friday lunch and was greeted by a nearly empty restaurant. Ordered the special--a turkey blt-- and was disappointed by the cardboard-like quality of the "bacon" and the general blandness of the sandwich. On the other hand, my husband's fish tacos were much better cooked but still bland. Despite the lack of customers, service was slow. Would not recommend.

Good appetizers, good wine. Not the greatest entrees, I'd only go here for appetizers and beer/wine.

Very nice for a quiet cozy dinner. They have an extensive selection of wines and beers, and the food is excellent. The service was top notch. My husband and I were very pleased on our first visit and certainly plan to go again.

The problem with this place is inconsistency. Went in again tonight and they have had yet another menu change. I was visiting my sister and her gf, and we just wanted some appetizers and drinks so we popped in for the happy hour. Well - they decided to do away with the happy hour food specials. So, we ordered the crostini, calamari, and vegetable risotto. I was hungry so I also had a burger as well. I'll start with the good. The burger was awesome. The fries that came with it were gross - even Sysco fries are better so not really sure what's going on there. The burger itself, however, was pretty damn tasty. Also, I've never had bad service here. Tonight was a little (read: very) slow (we waited 15 minutes to get our beers after we ordered) but I did order a burger, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The other appetizers we split though - don't even bother. The risotto had no flavor, the calamari (baked, not fried) was in a "cream sauce" but really all you tasted was lemon when you ate it. The crostini, actually, was pretty good. And by pretty good, I mean it just wasn't bad. I've definitely eaten at this place before, and I have had good food a few times here. But, as I mentioned, their problem is inconsistency. Tonight my friends and I were all pretty disappointed in general. If you're looking for a decent atmosphere in Salisbury, where you can have some drinks and relax - definitely check this place out. If you are in the mood for good food, however, I would highly recommend going somewhere else. The food is overpriced to begin with. If it were good, I wouldn't really mind. I really, really, really, really LOVE food. But when it tastes this bad, it's almost insulting and offensive when you get the bill.

Although I like the atmosphere for an elegant meal, the food I have had is truly mediocre - no matter how many times I return and give it another chance! The combinations of ingredients seem to often be composed to impress rather than taste. The Ahi Tuna stack is one of the more pretentious and inedible (both physically difficult to eat given it's combination of soft foods on hard crackers and because of the terrible combination of flavors and textures.) I should add that this dish seems to be constantly modified to greater or lesser success. The last dish I tried was "grilled peppers" that arrived and had the texture of stewed tomatoes with no flavor - as if they had been boiled. I know people who like this place, but I would advise you stick to more traditional dishes that are not just about show.

I have to say we now avoid coming here for lunch as it is very slow and we've had some very wakeful service on several occasions. Dinner has just been ok. Past managers have promised to "make up" the poor performances and have failed miserably. This used to be our favorite place in town, it's so sad to see it go downhill.

Food was delicious and presented nicely. The crab cakes were perfectly meaty and fantastic. A must-stop!

Our most recent visit was the best. The food was excellent. The tuna tacos were wonderful. Short ribs melted in your mouth. Our server was top notch, attentive and creative. Sobos nailed it.

We went here on a Wednesday. We chose Wednesday because it is Sobo's half price wine night, and the fact we had a couple of Southern Boy Concept's Loyalty Cards we needed to use before they expired at the end of the year. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and casual. Unfortunately on this night the roof was leaking and there was a puddle in the middle of the floor. Also, someone forgot to light the candles that sit on each table. Our waiter was knowledgeable on the menu, and offered us some suggestions on the wine. He was pleasant enough, but he could learn to smile some. It would warm up his presentation. All of our appetizers were good. We had the meat and cheese tray, the baked brussels sprouts, and the crab dip. Our entrees consisted of the Lobster Carbonara, the salmon, and two of the meat specials, which were 12 ounce cuts of New York strip from grass fed cows. The farm the beef was from is in Maryland, according the our waiter. The Carbonara was delicious. An ample portion of homemade pasta with lots of lobster throughout. The sauce was very good. The salmon was fresh and cooked to the proper temperature. The two New York strips were huge pieces of beef, truly 12 ounce cuts. They were seasoned perfectly and cooked to the requested temperatures, rare and medium-rare. Everyone in our party was thoroughly satisfied with their meals. Only item that got a little criticism was the chocolate souffle, which the diner said was a bit under cooked. I also thought the slice of pecan pie we shared was a bit tiny for the $7 price tag. All-in-all we had a very nice experience and left thinking the food was worth a trip back in the future.

I really like Sobo's wine beerstro. Very trendy restaurant, and like the Market Street Inn, I was surprised that this place existed in Salisbury, MD. I took a co-worker out to eat here while in the area this past summer for work and really enjoyed my meal. We started with a wine and cheese plate and ordered a bottle of Cakebread Cabernet which was 50% off on the Tuesday evening we dined there. What a great deal! I ended up paying less for it at Sobo's then what I could have purchased it in a liquor store for. For entrees, I ordered a salmon that came in a seafood sauce. The sauce was too rich and heavy for me, but the salmon was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My co-worker ordered a seafood pasta that was extremely fresh with large chunks of crabmeat. Fresh crabmeat, not the pastuerized crap out of a can. Very solid food and wonderful service. Sobo's and Market Street Inn are my two favorite restaurants in the Salisbury area.

I have frequented Sobo's 4 times in the last month only because I purchased the Delmarva Daily deal and will not return. It is inconsistent and if you don't get there before 7 pm for dinner, They will not have your choice of entree. The crab cakes had so many shells it was difficult to consume. I witnessed my server drop the bread tongs on the filthy floor and pick them up and stick them in his apron pocket. Watch your bill because the server will purposely not give you a discount if you have one hoping that you will not notice. When one has to ask for water, silverware, bread, butter, extra napkin and the bill 3 times to be corrected there is something wrong. Customer service is terrible food is average; got 3 scallops for over $20. Save your money. Poor selection of wine also. If you rate their food as excellent you have not experienced the fine taste of a true gourmet chef.

As others have said, very inconsistent. I will occasionally go there for lunch but dinner is way overpriced and not worth it. The last time I had dinner there our server explained the specials and my girlfriend ordered the "special" steak. I ordered the regular steak from the menu that was $26. When our food we arrived we noticed that these two steaks looked nearly identical. Same size, same side, both had mushrooms. The only difference was hers had a sauce. Okay that's fine. Then the bill arrived. The "special" steak was $40! Okay, to me a special is something that costs less but let's look past that. There was no indication anywhere as to the price of the specials. So in theory they could have charged me $40,000 for the "special steak." Secondly, what is in that spoonful of sauce that makes it $14? Thirdly, that is just a piss poor way to treat guests. Congratulations on getting my $14. I won't be back.

Good food. They use local and in season dishes. The bartender (Tamar) has awesome cocktails. The wines there are also good and very reasonable! Wednesday evening is half price wine! Great lunches and dinners!

I'm probably one of SoBo's biggest fans! This place is absolutely phenomenal! If you're looking for a place in the Salisbury area with a romantic atmosphere; look no farther! This place will meet all your needs. The lighting is absolutely perfect. It's bright enough so you can see the person you're sitting with, and makes the perfect setting for any night out with your special someone. The environment presents this wonderful old world rustic charm; topped off with a quaint appeal of floor to ceiling wine racks surrounding the dining area. The tables are spaced just perfectly so you don't feel like you're on top of one another. So when you're swooning the person you're sitting with; you don't have to worry about dining neighbors hearing your corny on-liners. Don't even get me started on the food! I'm certain every time I walk out of this restaurant I've probably consumed an entire week's worth of calories due to the richness of the food. Yet the portions are just right to avoid making you uncomfortably stuffed. This place offers some of the finest of ingredients to be found on the Eastern Shore. My compliments always to the chef! He prepares everything as though it were an art form. All of the sauces throughout every course, including dessert are sheer perfection. I highly recommend the truffle sauce! I'm not much of a drinker anymore, but let me tell you; when it comes to their wine selection, they're top notch. I've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity of tasting wines from all over the planet, and this place promises some of the best to be found. Their wine list is easy to read, if you've had any formal training and wine tasting, you'll be sure to find the correct choice for your palette. Although, I must say I disagree with some of the chef's choices for some of his plates. The only issue I have with this restaurant is the price of its menu. For a college town it boasts some pretty hefty price tags on most of its dishes; this being said, you certainly do get which you pay for with each and every meal. The only other downside of this restaurant goes back to the fact this is a college town; if you go there for a late dinner, you'll find yourself surrounded by wine guzzling 21 year-old undergrads! This definitely takes away from the ambience! All of this being said, as soon as I can scrape together some dough, I will definitely be going back for another awesome meal and enchanted evening! Especially with that special someone!

We stopped in the Beerstro on an early Friday night and got seated right away. I love any place that has such a serious committment to good wine and beer like Dogfish and Ommegang. We had an amazing meal, the food was prepared perfectly using fresh, local ingredients and they have a constantly changing, creative menu. This place is just really cool, with a great wine list cool atmosphere, and a knowledgeable staff. Dave, our watier, did a great job of explaining the menu items and making recommendations. The prices aren't bad for the quality of food, right about what you would expect, but it's definitely pricey for the Eastern Shore. Definitely worth it though.

Very nice restaurant. I've been here a few times with my girlfriend and the food/drinks are always top notch. I agree that the menu changes are not really needed, although perhaps to switch it up for the regulars, it was needed. The ambiance is very nice for a date night. I was surprised that a restaurant of this caliber existed in Salisbury. Prices are not cheap, but not too high. Expect to have a hundred dollar meal for two. You do get what you pay for.

Need an impressive place for a romantic night out or an out of town client? SoBo's is the answer. The decor is modern and the lighting is soothing. The seating, especially in the upper dining room, is cozy. The staff are well trained and are well prepared for real conversation about the menu. Have you ever asked a waiter what's good and gotten the answer "everything" or asked how good a specific dish is to find out they have never tried it? Not at SoBo's. You'll get real answers to your curious questions. I love the House Cured Ahi Tuna appetizer prepared with Cucumber Apple Slaw, Wonton Crisps and Soy and Wasabi Glaze! The Beer Battered Portabella Mushrooms and Asparagus are also a must have from the appetizer menu. The cheese board reminded me of our trip to Paris last summer, sitting at a cafe, sipping wine and munching on "stinky" cheese. For dinner, the Filet is my favorite......probably one of the best steaks I have ever had. The food here is excellent, but the thing that sets them apart from everyone else is the hand picked New World wine list. You won't find any expensive French wines here. Tom's theory is that the wines of Chile, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Washington, Oregon and of course, California have as much or more to contribute as their more famous and expensive counterparts. If yo love wine but are on a budget that's alright. SoBo's has a 20 for $20 Wine List. With 20 or more bottles for $20 or less, you can enjoy some really good wine at a reasonable price. That's the beauty of New World wines! Salisbury is truly fortunate to have SoBo's as one of its dining options!

Our recent visit to SoBo's was outstanding and a true fine dining experience. We had a sweet and sour shrimp appetizer special, which was delicious and could have made a small meal for one person. I had a shrimp and veal chop special for my entree and was most impressed. Everything was done perfectly. I also had a red wine flight and was in heaven. What stood out the most this visit was the service. Our entrees took a long time to appear, but honestly, we didn't notice since we were happily chatting away. Our waiter, however, was very apologetic and anticipated the problem rather than wait for a possible complaint from us. He offered us a free dessert for our trouble (although really, it was not trouble at all!). So we got an awesome chocolate mousse to go with our amazing meal! Also, I asked for "no potatoes, substitute with asparagus" with my meal. The entree still arrived with potatoes, but the waiter offered to replate it. I declined, and was given an extra helping of asparagus anyway. I really wanted to give Sobo's 4.5 stars... The noise is still a problem. Sorry, but it's a huge peeve of mine!

Great ambiance and good wine selection... However I can't say the same about the food, it tends to lean on the bland end. Each time I've ate dinner their I left disappointed by the food. For the price you shouldn't leave feeling you could've made it better yourself.

I went with a large business party for a weekday lunch at Sobo's. They gave us a side room. We ordered a variety of appetizers including risotto cakes, fried asparagus, cheese sampler, and quesadillas. The majority of the party really enjoyed the risotto cakes but my preference was the quesidillas. The group went with a wide range of entrees with the majority opting for soup and salad lunch combos. I chose the calamari and it was good. I've had better but it was still pretty solid. All in all I believe everyone was pleased with their meals. Service was good and given that there was 9 of us, I felt the price was very reasonable. I definitely will recommend as far as a good locale for a business luncheon. I'll also give them a try for dinner in the future.

I visited Sobo's while my boyfriend is in Salisbury on business. It was GREAT! Local ingredients and excellent beer & wine list. Our waiter was AWESOME! Some of the menu items were a tad over-priced, but generally worth it.

Great food. Love the fish tacos. Great beer and wine selection. The outside needs work. When you drive up with a client or business guest it's not impressive. Once you get inside it's great .

Sobos has been great 85 percent of the time. After dining here on multiple occasions I will be back again. There beer selction is great not awesome but great, wine selctions is good as well. Had the Asian tuna salad this time, was nice dressing was good and tuna rare and tasty, had crispy rice noodles piled on top could have done with out. Waiter was nice but barely waited on our tabel of four. When you recevie 160 dollar check is it me but I felt like not leaving an 32 dollar tip... maybe for the pricing they should have the staff focus more on only a few tables. Still good environment with above average fare and good drink.

Very tasty crime of crab soup, disappointed there was only two pieces of crab. No Pinot Noir by the glass. Scallops were nicely done

I was blown away by my experience here. So were the three somewhat picky/fussy eaters who were with me. I mean, these folks are not easy to please, and Sobo impressed us all. The atmosphere is intimate but not so much so that kids are unwelcome. The service is attentive without being overbearing. I expected the wine and beer to be the stars here, but they really aren't. Or at least not for me. It is all about the food! For starters, even of you don't think you like Brussels sprouts, you should try them here. They are beautifully caramelized and richly seasoned. Really a can't-miss. The wonton appetizer sampler, if they have it, is a nice selection of fillings inside yummy fried wontons. The beet salad with arugula and goat cheese is great. I had it as my entree and it was perfectly filling. The picky ones in my party had lentil soup, steak, chicken and scallops. All raved about their meals. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

World's greatest happy hour, great food and the price is right! Warm welcoming environment, staff very knowledgable, great wine list and lots of craft beer to choose from. I recommend Sobo's to everyone, just don't take my bar stool!

I have been to Sobos a few times now when visiting from out of town and I have never been disappointed. The food is always excellent and the portions are very generous. The service has always been consistent with truly attentive and knowledgable servers. Keep it up!

The food was amazing! We had the scallops, Brussels sprouts. Calamari, shrimp toast and truffle fries. Everything was attractively presented and a good value for the $. The service was outstanding as well. The manager even stopped by to see how everything was. This is definitely my go to restaurant now anytime I'm in the 'bury.

We went the night before valentines day. They had a fixed menu. This place is ridiculously over priced. Although the Brussels sprouts I got were to die for, nothing else was. It was good-not great.

I have been here on only one occasion. It was very slow when I went maybe 3 tables, my friend and I waited over 5 minutes for our server to greet us and she was the one to seat us. They have a good selection of drinks, particularly wine they had a list of 20 different bottles for $20. The appetizer I wanted to try they were out of so I ended up getting fries with gravy and beef, wasn't thrilled on the quality. The entree i Wanted they were out of so I ended up getting some cheesy pasta, eh. The entree my friend wanted they were out of so they got some kind of sausage meal, it was tasty but unimpressive. The server wasn't pleasant at all, maybe it was the fact they were out of everything we wanted. Maybe I'll try lunch sometime.

What a top notch experience! The staff is friendly and knowledgable, the menu is diverse, the specials tempt your tastebuds, and the food is prepared with finesse. For starters we had Asian brussels sprouts (YUM!) and the Cauliflower Poppers (can you complain?). For supper I ordered the Rockfish over Risotto, the fish tasted like the ocean! My husband ordered the Short Ribs (Melt. In. Your. Mouth) that were served with decadent goat cheese mash and roasted asparagus. The server Neal recommended the Lucky 7 Porter with my husbands and it was a match made in foodie heaven!! Cheers to a great spot! Awesome meal!

I went to Sobos Tuesday night and ordered the swordfish. The dish is served with spinich and potatoes but I substiuted with asparagus. Long story short..the swordfish was inedible. It didn't seemed cooked and had a strong fishy taste. Not only that the presentation was awful. the spinich was mixed with stewed tomatoes and the sauce was nasty. I literally got 4 of the tiniest asparagus that I had ever seen. They took it off the bill and then my date ordered lemon pie, which took 45 minutes to get thankfully that was good. The only reason that I gave it 2 stars was for the atmosphere. The waitress was fine she had to wait for them to get the pie. This restaurant used to be good and now its going down hill..so sad.

Cream of Crab soup was the best I've had, a pink color with huge lumps of crabmeat and a nice level of spiciness, maybe Old Bay added on top. Turkey Club and Portobello half sandwiches were huge, fresh and flavorful, so combined with soup made for a filling and excellent ly valued lunch at $9.99. Ambience was warm and inviting, service was friendly and informative about the large selection of craft beers - tastings provided upon request. Highly recommend and will return.
